April Showers Brings May Flowers

Jessica Berrios Season 1 Episode 8

As the gentle rains of April pave the way for May's miraculous blooms, I'm reminded of a cherished truth: like the earth's blossoms, our spirits require nurturing to flourish. In our latest soulful conversation, we explore the metaphorical landscape where personal growth and spiritual renewal intertwine, drawing inspiration from Song of Solomon 2:12. Discover how to cultivate the garden within, enriching your inner soil with the sustenance of God's word and the life-giving rains of the Holy Spirit. Let's embark on a transformative journey together, cultivating a faith that's deeply rooted and vibrantly alive.

With the newness of May before us, it's a perfect moment to reflect on the beauty of a life well-tended. I invite you to join me in a heartfelt discussion about the importance of spiritual sustenance and the conditions that allow for a blossoming faith. We'll share insights on how to remove the weeds of life’s distractions and bask in the spiritual sunshine of Jesus's love. Embrace the concept of your life as a garden – a place of growth, beauty, and divine reflection – and how, with intention and God's grace, it can become a source of joy and inspiration for all who encounter it.

Speaker 2:

Hello and welcome everyone to another episode of Join this Journey by Faithline. I am just so overjoyed to be with you today. Happy Sunday, everyone, and happy May. We have entered a new month and I am just overjoyed, thanking God that he has helped us through April and now has brought us into the month of May. I know that there is a saying, meditating on the Lord, he just brought to my memory this old saying of April showers brings May flowers, and we know that that saying is very popular because through April showers we see the result of the rain and the water, the new beautiful flowers that break through the earth and just start to bloom in May, and everyone loves it. It. It's a beautiful sight to see and meditate on and just see the creation of God and his hand, even in the growth of new flowers, just seeing the hand of the Lord move, because in all God glorifies himself, and just meditating on that. The Lord brought me to this verse, and it's in the book of Song of Solomon, chapter 2, verse 12, and we're going to read in the New King James Version and we read in the name of the Father, son and Holy Spirit, amen. The flowers appear on the earth. The time of singing has come and the voice of the turtle dove is heard in our land. Weeks before the beautiful flowers, there's always a time of refreshing rain. As I said before, april showers bring May flowers.

Speaker 2:

The same can be said in the life of a Christian. Like flowers, we too need good soil and rain and plenty of sunshine to grow and bloom into the person that the Lord wants us to be. And one can ask where can a Christian find good soil? And I have to say always good soil is produced through God's holy word. We must be rooted and grounded in the word of God to grow, mature and blossom in our Christian life. The Bible often uses rain as a symbol of the Holy Spirit, and it is so wonderful when the Holy Spirit anoints us with his blessings and he just pours out upon our lives, and then we have the Lord himself divinely lighting our path. And Jesus said in John 14, verse 6, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except by me. Jesus is our sunshine, our heavenly sunshine that sustains our Christian lives every day, as you enjoy this spring season which is upon us right now, with all of its beautiful flowers, singing birds, warm days and relaxing warm evenings on your porch or front steps.

Speaker 2:

I encourage you to examine your inner man's soil, your soul, to make sure you're getting all the nutrients that your Christian life needs to grow ever more lovely. I encourage you to take time out to dig, but dig deep in the soil of God's word, removing any weeds. Let him come in and just invite him and say God, come in, holy Spirit, just remove every weed that is in my life, because we know weeds, they end up choking what wants to come out and bloom. And so, just through God's word, we know then okay, this is a weed in my life that needs to go, and just ask him God, remove any weeds that may choke out the beautiful seeds that may blossom in our lives. And I encourage you to seek the Holy Spirit's shower of blessings through constant prayer. I encourage you to walk in the sunshine of God's love through His Son, jesus Christ, and by doing these things your life can become beautiful. A beautiful garden that everyone enjoys seeing and being around. You know, it's just something. When you're sitting, when you've had the opportunity to go to like gardens around, and you sit within those flowers, you just get amazed of the colors, the shape, the beauty of it, and that's how we are in this world. If we confess that Jesus Christ lives in us, through rain it makes us grow, it blossoms to something beautiful that people are not used to seeing. And it's not just for a season, it's for every season that we can show this world Jesus Christ through our life and that they can be attracted and want to come in as well. So let God bloom in your life, let God use you, let God show others that he is a wonderful and great creator. And the rain that comes through our lives are hard moments, but through that rain we're growing, we're maturing and right now you may may not see it, but god will show you. At the very end you will become that beautiful garden that everyone wants to be around and you can be a blessing.

Speaker 2:

In matthew, chapter 6, verse 33, it says but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. And you may ask what things is he talking about? Things like experiencing the beautiful blessings of God. The blessings of God are everlasting. They're ever blooming, everlasting, they're ever blooming. It's a blooming banquet of fresh flowers sent directly to you from his beautiful eternal garden each day. So these are things that god wants to pour over our lives, but in order for us to receive it, the bible says we must seek ye first, the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And if we do through that, all these things shall be added. What is added unto us? Blessings, blessings of the father, which the enemy doesn't want you to have. So he wants you to seek everything else and in that, when we're being distracted, we miss what is good, and what is good God's blessings. God has so much great blessings for our lives and he wants us to receive them and be able to bloom to show others that we serve a great God. So seek God and seek out the blessings he has for you.

Speaker 2:

Probably right now, what you're going through is such a hard moment, but don't forget those hard moments. Those rainy days is a blessing, because after the storm, the sun shines through and then the result of it is beautiful, blooming flowers, and that is what God is doing In the midst of the storm. What God has permitted is for your good, it's for God's glory. God will make something out of it. Why? Because he has given us promises. God is faithful to every promise he has given to you. And what God has planted, god will make bloom in His time.

Speaker 2:

So don't be discouraged of you seeing rain at this moment, because April showers will bring May flowers. So, whatever shower is falling over your life right now, it's because God is bringing forth something greater that your eyes will see. So don't be discouraged. Wherever you are at this moment, whatever you're going through, don't be discouraged. Rise up and know that out of what you're going through, out of those tears, out of that suffering, god is bringing forth something even greater and more wonderful. Without rain, there won't be any flowers. The flowers, the ground, the earth, the seeds, everything needs the rain, and then what shines through is the sun to produce what has been planted.

Speaker 2:

So be encouraged in this moment, wherever you are, feel encouraged by the Lord and know, receive his strength, because what is going to come out, it's for God's glory, it's a testimony for everyone to see that we serve a great and powerful God. Let's pray, father, god, we come before you and, lord, we ask that you pour out your promised glory. Let the rain come down, god, but give us strength through the rain, because without rain, lord, we cannot grow. And if it is raining right now, let us understand, god, it's because we are growing and maturing in you. Lord, help us and make us wear your glory like a garment. Help us in our trouble and help us see and receive double of your blessings. For ashes we receive your beauty. For sorrows, god, we receive everlasting joy. Your beauty For sorrows, god, we receive everlasting joy.

Speaker 2:

And in the name of Jesus, I ask you for new strength for everyone listening at this moment.

Speaker 2:

God, may you cover them, may you wrap them, lord, in your arms, so they know, god, that you are in control.

Speaker 2:

Lord, according to your word, lord, we are to receive and increase God of strength when we ask, and I ask, god, that you increase our strength, god, and may you help us, lord, to conquer everything that you have promised over our lives. Oh, lord, grant us the grace, the time, the energy and all the resources to enjoy the rest of our lives. God, and may we, lord, close all doors of the enemy that, when he tries to come and steal God, that we can recognize it and say no, no more stealing our joy, no more stealing our faith. That we can stand in you, god, to know that in the midst of the storm. There is a purpose, and we may not see it right now, but there is a day that we shall see it, like the day when we see the flowers bloom. I ask you, lord, in Jesus name, and we thank you God, amen. I pray that this word has been a blessing to your life, and never forget that April showers brings May flowers. Until next time, this is your host, jj. God bless you.
