Speaker 2:

God bless you all and welcome to another podcast episode from Join this Journey by Faithline. I am super excited, like always, to be here with you to share with you another Bible devotional that God has placed amen on our hearts, and I am just so grateful to each and every one of you that join us weekly to listen and be blessed as well through the word of God, amen. Today's Bible devotional will be in the book of 2 Peter, 3, verse 9. And we read the word of the Lord in the name of the Father, son and Holy Spirit Amen. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with to know Christ through repentance, forgiveness, faith and a lifetime of loving intimacy.

Speaker 2:

Jesus came the first time to earth as our Savior and before he was crucified he promised that he would prepare a place for us in his Father's house and that he will come back and take us to be with him, that we also may be where he is. John 14, 23 says my father's house has many rooms. If that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you. I will come back and take you to be with me, that you also may be where I am. That right, there is a great promise for each and every one of us that perseveres to the very end, that he will be back. Christ will come again, and he will come again as our judge, and he waits so that the unredeemed have time to believe and become sons and daughters of the Almighty. God's will is for salvation salvation in Jesus and not eternity in hell apart from him. In Jesus and not eternity in hell apart from him. Like the door of Noah's ark, eventually that time frame is going to close, so the opportunity to trust Christ and to know who he is is slowly slipping away. For many, the floodwaters meaning death will one day drown us. Waters meaning death will one day drown us. Will we be ready? God is ringing the bell and calling our attention to run to him, to go to him while there's still time. Salvation and safety can only be found in our Savior, our Lord and Savior, jesus Christ.

Speaker 2:

It says in Psalms 103.8,. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. That's right, yes, the Lord is patient, he is love, and he invites us to repent, to trust in him, because he does not want us to perish. He is there to love us, to forgive us and to renew us, to take us out of that rebellion. And he is there so that we shall not be found guilty in front of his presence, be found guilty in front of his presence. Numbers 14, 18 says the Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished. He punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation. So we still have time to warn others of the judgment to come, and some will mock, others will act indifferent, but there will be those who will find refuge in Jesus.

Speaker 2:

Romans 2, verse 4, says Many of the people who have done religious things, prayed the sinner's prayer, given money served in churches, will be eternally lost Because they have never made Jesus Christ the Lord of their life. In Proverbs 14, 12 it says there is a way that seems right to man, but its end is the way to death. There are true and false disciples, as we hear Jesus say In Matthew 7, verses 21 to 23,. It says there are true and false disciples, as we hear Jesus say In Matthew 7, verses 21 to 23,. It says Not everyone who says to me, lord, lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, lord lord, didn't, did we not prophesy in your name and and in your name, drive out demons and in your name, perform any miracles? Then I will tell them plainly I never knew you. Away from me, you evil doers.

Speaker 2:

The patience of our Heavenly Father is the model for us to follow. We are surrounded by a sea of those who need salvation. They are drowning in their sin. By offering them the life preserver of faith, hope and love for Jesus, we can rescue the perishing. It should be our daily prayer to ask the Father to convict the lost through the Holy Spirit, and that he would give us the wisdom to lead those he places in our paths so we can teach them from the scripture how to receive salvation through the saving blood of Jesus Christ. Once saved, we help them to grow in their faith and in the knowledge of what the Bible teaches, so they can live a fruitful life, for the Lord. God loves us and does not want anyone to perish.

Speaker 2:

Jesus showed love throughout his whole ministry, but he also knew those who would and would not follow him. One day, when he was speaking to the Pharisees, in Matthew 15, verses 8 through 9, he said these people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain. Their teachings are merely human rules. In Matthew 15, verse 14, it says, and he continued leave them. They are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

Speaker 2:

Even though God wants all his people to be saved, he knows there are those who are not going to listen and in his mercy, he is slow to punish and he is giving each and every one of us the opportunity to make our ways right before him. In 1 Timothy, chapter 2, verse 4, it says even though God wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of truth, but he knows once again those who does not want the truth. It is our hope and our prayer that everyone will open their hearts to the truth that God has placed before us. It is our Father's hope and because it is His hope and those who have opened their hearts to Him, it has become theirs as well, that not one should perish. And so we thank Him for His patience and continue obeying His commands, because he has left us with the truth before ascending into heaven.

Speaker 2:

And with that truth we have a responsibility as the church of Jesus Christ to go and make disciples of all nations. It says in Matthew, chapter 28, verse 19 through 20,. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. I am with you always, to the very end of the age. God has given us a responsibility to know that he is at the door and make others aware of it too, that they may come to him in true repentance for salvation. Christ is at the door, and he has given enough time for us to make our ways right before him. And if we haven't, today is the day to make that step.

Speaker 2:

Let's pray, father, god, we come before you in Jesus name, and I want to thank you for your love and your mercy and for once again speaking to our lives through your word. You're an awesome, god, and your love is unfailing. Help us, lord, to love you and obey you, to bring forth each and every command, god. We as a nation need to come to your feet, god, because we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled in so many ways and we have scorned your commands and we have lost our way. You command us to love you and to love our neighbor as ourselves, and instead we wallow in fear, not in faith, by intentionally destroying each other.

Speaker 2:

Forgive us, god, and renew a right spirit in us. You have called us to reach the nation, lord, and yet we have been blinded by a lot of circumstances and arrows of the enemy, god. We have let it get the best of us and we have held back the truth and held back what you can do through us, god. And I ask you, god, today, that you break down every stronghold of the enemy, that you free us, that you free every child that belongs to you, so we can comply with you and, in your word, bring forth the truth, so everyone knows that the time is running out, that you are at the door and you're soon going to bring judgment, lord. Help us, lord, to comply with you.

Speaker 2:

Restore us in you Restore our relationships, restore our relationships in our home, our relationships. Restore our relationships in our home, god, and restore our relationships in the church. Lord, have mercy on us, bring us back God to the anointing, the anointing that breaks the yoke, god, and that's what we need. Lord, help us bring forth your word as it is and let us never take away the truth, for there is power in the truth, there's liberation in the truth that we never hide. God, who you are, we are your people, lord, forgive us, lift us up, lord, renew our hearts, god, and help us, lord, always to stand firm in your holiness, god, you are our healer, our restore, our deliverer, and we seek mercy and forgiveness for the sins, not only in our lives, but the sins of this nation.

Speaker 2:

God, we are your people and you have called us by your name, god, and that we comply with you from today on, in the name of Jesus, that you might withhold your wrath and heal our land. In your mighty name, we ask and we pray, declaring it is done In Jesus' name, amen. I pray that this word has been a blessing to your life and that you may never forget that the Lord is not slow in keeping his promises, but he is slow to anger, patiently waiting for you to come to him in true repentance and to be transformed by his mighty power. He does not want anyone to perish and he is waiting for you, for he has come to save all who have been lost, and he is waiting with open arms for you to come to him in true repentance and, if you have, then go forward as a disciple, preaching the truth to all the nations, so they know there is a powerful God waiting for them. In the name of Jesus, until next time, this is your host, jj. God bless you.
