Speaker 2:

Hello everyone. God bless you. Welcome to another episode of the podcast Joy in this Journey by Faithline. I first want to wish you all a happy new year and thank God he got us through into another year by his mercy, by his grace, by his glory, by his power and authority. Here we are to continue going forth another year in Jesus' name.

Speaker 2:

I wanted to read a verse here in the book of Exodus, chapter 14, verse 15, one of my favorite stories, and it's right in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen. And the Lord said unto Moses Wherefore crieth thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forth. Praise god, hallelujah. This is a story, um, if no one's not familiar with it maybe some are, some aren't, which is fine, um of god's promise being fulfilled. God is the god of abraham, isaac and jacob. God is a god of covenant, of promise. When he speaks, so I come to pass. He does not lie nor make mistakes. He is faithful in his words and his promise of bringing his people to the promised land was given to abraham father, abraham um, and then to his son, isaac and jacob, and then descendants. Finally was left in israel where they stay for 400 years and god finally wanted to take them out after 400 something years in Egypt, but at this time they were slaves. God lifts a man named Moses, which is very common knowledge in the Bible. If no one knows, a man named Moses, god lifts up to use to bring the people out of Egypt. It was a struggle to get him out because the Pharaoh, the king at the time of Egypt, would not let the people of Israel go. He would not let and refuse, and God sent ten plagues until finally the last plague was so strong, killing the firstborn of every person in Egypt, except for the people of Israel that died. That softened the heart of the Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, to let people of Israel go and serve God. And so we come to this point where the people of God are walking out of Egypt into the desert where God will guide them to this promised land we've spoken of for many years. And at this point point they get stuck. I say stuck, but not really because god already spoke.

Speaker 2:

Um, if you read uh beginning verse of chapter 14, verses 1 through 4, it clearly states and shows god telling moses where to bring the people, where the camp, where to stay and what he's going to to stay and what he's going to do and how he's going to do it. He talks about how he's going to harden the heart of Pharaoh and as he comes back, he's going to glorify himself with Pharaoh. From verses 5 to 9, it talks about what God says is going to happen. God heartens Pharaoh's heart. He rises up with his captains and his chariots over 600 of them and then he go after the people of Israel and horses and chariots away faster than walking this human feet and legs so they eventually catch up to the Israelites.

Speaker 2:

And then verses 10 through 12, you see the fear of the people of Israel knowing they want to die because Egyptians are mad and angry at what has happened to them and they cry out to God, asking for help and telling Moses, complaining to Moses why did you bring us out of Egypt? If you know we're going to die? I don't judge them. I understand because God speaks, speaks. Many times we don't believe. And then things happen when god's going to speak and we doubt and we worry and we question and we drown ourselves in the problem instead of believing what god has spoken um, leading me to uh 13 and 14. The verses 13 and 14, where, where Moses tries to encourage the people hey, trust in God, stand still, you will see God's today's glory and salvation of your life, which is very impacting. A man of God, moses, trying to encourage the people to believe. But then, verse 15, which I read, it's God saying to Moses why are you crying unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward? And that's what I want to emphasize today about going forth.

Speaker 2:

We start a new year and I'm not sure how your last year was 2024. I'm not sure. Not sure or do I know what you went through, what happened? Maybe some people during the new year start to reflect and have regrets of things they didn't do, or things they did do, or mistakes, or things they wanted to do and didn't do. And sometimes many people in the new year can be very sad, unfortunately, because they tend to dwell in the past and things that should have, would have, could have. But I'm here to say what happened has happened. We can't change the past. We can't change what happened yesterday. It already happened. Yesterday is gone. All we can focus on is right now and tomorrow.

Speaker 2:

We can believe what God has spoken or we can doubt and continue living in fear. These Israelites were afraid for their life, as I would say most of us would be afraid of. In that position where our backs are against the ocean, the sea In front of us, there's a whole army of people angry, wanting to kill you for vengeance. What happened to the family? But God speaks, and always God speaks on time.

Speaker 2:

And I wanted to emphasize for this year that we go forth.

Speaker 2:

God has spoken already. God made promises. We've cried, we've cried, we've prayed, we fasted and continue doing that Please. But we have to go forth in Jesus' name. This is the year. We have to stand firm and believe what God has spoken. The devil will do a good job. He's doing a great job at doing it. I don't know justify him or glorify Satan or adversary or rebuking him in the power and authority of Jesus name. He's doing his job. Great to bring doubt and fear and worry to many. But we have to stand firm and believe what God has spoken and what God has told us, to not be afraid to believe, to march forth what he spoke, which I come to pass. We live in his last days with Christ and come at any moment. I pray comes today, but while we still wait for him, we have to work for him and lift up above our circumstances, our situations, and keep our eyes on Christ, on the price that we go forth.

Speaker 2:

Go forth, god said to Moses why do you cry unto me? Why you encourage the people? I already told you what was going to happen. I told you how it's going to happen and it it's happened. Now next step is to believe in me and go forth. So, my brothers, my sisters and friends who are listening today, we must go forth in Jesus' name, no matter how hard it may look or difficult. Don't tell God how big your problems is, but tell your problems how big your God is. I love that. I heard that somewhere and it's so true. We sometimes think God can't do this. It's this problem, it's too big, it's too much. And we're telling the almighty God how big our problem is and he's like that's nothing for me, there's nothing impossible for him, the way he did in your life yesterday and the day before, and he took you out of those other battles and situations and circumstances and brought you forth. He will do it again. Use that as encouragement, if anything else, to remember where God brought you from, what God did, how he supplied, how he healed, how he delivered, how he changed, how he provided for you in your circumstances and situations. Back then he'll do it again, but you have to go forth.

Speaker 2:

We can't get stuck in this time that we're living. We can't live a mediocre, uh christian life and be comfortable. I went to church today, I read the bible today and now I can take it easy. No, on the contrary, we must increase our time, our intimacy with the lord more time reading his word, getting to know him more, that he continue working in us in this areas in our lives that need to be changed and transformed. Um, we need to spend less time and I tell it for me, I'm preaching to the choir here less time on the phone, less time with entertainment devices and personal things, and make God a priority, make Him number one. If you're already doing these things and seeking God, amen, multiply it now. You don't lose in seeking God's presence, getting to feel more of His Spirit, more of his glory, and the contrary. You're getting more blessed and more transformed and changed.

Speaker 2:

Why not get more of God, more in prayer? It's possible. There's nothing difficult for the Lord. Yes, sometimes there's a hassle when you want to pray and you get tired, you get attacks, you get sleepy when you want to read the Bible, you want to fast. But you have to press forth. We have to move forward. Why do you cry unto me, moses? Speak unto intrusion that they go forth. So this year let's go forth in God. Let's go forth in him with a grateful heart, a gratitude knowing what he's done for us in the past, he'll do it again. Let's trust in him with our whole hearts.

Speaker 2:

I don't believe in New Year's resolution. I used to. I was seditious, many people did and I followed ignorantly and those who do a each his own. I don't condone it. What I do is I say this is the plan every year in less distractions. Every year, more of christ and less distractions. And I know for me personally, I have to do less distraction, more god. I have to go more forth, go forth more in the lord. Playtime's over and we have to mature ourselves in God. Don't be mediocre. We are filled with potential, but our potential will never be fulfilled if we don't do our part.

Speaker 2:

God has spoken and the plan and purpose he has for our lives. He wants to do it. God is impossible. He can do anything, but it's in us to allow him. He's a gentleman. We have to open our hearts to him and allow him to do whatever he wants to do, even when it hurts and even when it makes no sense and even we think he's wrong. Let him do what he needs to do. But we have to move forth in him that he may complete and fulfill all his works that he's spoken of years ago in our lives.

Speaker 2:

So we must go forth. He's the God of Abraham, isaac and Jacob, god of covenant, of promise. He's faithful to do his part. We must do our part and be honest and sincere when we come, when we go to him, he knows us already before we know ourselves. This area of our lives that we don't even know, that I don't even know of myself, but as I read his word, as I pray and I'm more sincere guy shows me this is wrong, roy, this is not right. I don't like this. And he starts adjusting and changing and transforming me to his image and to his glory, which we were made for.

Speaker 2:

And so, brothers and sisters, let us go forth today, no matter what confronts you tomorrow or today, what you might see, what you think is difficult it might be. I'm not undermining the situation you're in right now. All I'm trying to say is that we can go forth, not with our strength, not with our intelligence, not with our abilities, but in Christ. If you believe it, all things are possible through Christ. That strengthened us.

Speaker 2:

Paul said it clearly and he's a great example. He went through much things, many things, but he knew it was only in Jesus Christ that we're able to go through these things and press forth when the trials and the tribulations and dark moments come. We can get through it in christ. We have two options. We can sit there and complain and make excuses, and that's only going to lead us into a place where it can cost us our salvation honestly, which is nothing, something I don't want to gamble with or we can rise up and go forth with christ, with his strength, because his spirit is there for us, to help us and encourage us. It's in us to make that decision. We're not forced. We have free will in this world, but our actions will determine where we end up.

Speaker 2:

Christ paid the highest price for our salvation. We now have to hold on to his promises and believe, stand firm, for our salvation is ahead of us and it's soon to come, our Lord and Savior, jesus Christ. So let us go forth in Jesus name. No matter what you're going through, no matter what you see, hear or feel, it's real or don't look under undermining the attacks of the enemy. I rebuke him in Jesus name. The attacks are real and it's going to get harder, it won't get easier, but we must go forth as soldiers in Christ. We must march forth no matter the danger. You see the situation.

Speaker 2:

God is there and he's waiting for you to stand firm and go forth, believing what he said already. Let us not doubt him no more. Let us not think twice of what he said. Let's stand firm and believe in his promises, in his word. Read god's word. It's the most amazing thing is word. When you sit down and really allow the lord, through his holy spirit, to minister to your life, whether it be old testament, new testament. He will speak to you, he will comfort you, he will guide you, he will correct. He will comfort you, he will guide you, he will correct you, he will let you know what's right and wrong and he will guide you. God is faithful to do it, if you allow him. So let's spend less time on us in the sense of this world, things of this world, that doesn't go anywhere. Let's spend more time in Christ, more time in the Lord where we benefit and gain eternal glory. Time in Christ, more time in the Lord where we benefit and gain eternal glory.

Speaker 2:

I wanted to finish off with a verse that connects to Exodus. It's found in Philippians 3, 13. Apostle Paul says it Breathings brothers, I count not myself to have apprehended it, but this one thing I do forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of god in christ jesus. Another example of paul, pastor paul, he was had great fame, fortune, power and authority until he encountered jesus christ and he bent so much he got used and powerful in the ministry and he's a great example. I know he said I don't pretend I've made it. I have my own struggles and battles, but one thing I'm doing I'm forgetting what happened in the past, because the past doesn't do anything. I can't look back, and many of us look back and the past is holding us. Oh, I did, I did this mistake. Oh, I did this wrong.

Speaker 2:

God knows, god sees, he's forgiven you already. You have to forgive yourself. Allow God to heal you in that area. Heal you in working it. You may go forth, because the only thing that lays ahead of us, it will happen to go forth. The past may be a good example of where God brought you, from what he's done, the victories he's brought through your life in the past yes, use those, but don't let the past hinder you from your future, from your blessing. When God has spoken, we must go forth, we must press. There is a calling upon our lives, every one of us, and only as we fulfill it we press forth. And God is there to help us.

Speaker 2:

If you feel weak, if you feel tired, if you feel upset, if you feel sad, if you feel you're not capable of doing it, these emotions sometimes can try to affect us, and I'm not saying they're not real, but what we do with that is that we bring it to God and lay it at his feet. God, I'm feeling this way today. God, I'm feeling this way today. God, I'm bothered, and he is there to help us to go forth. He will deal with you and change you and heal you and work in you and transform you for his glory. He's our best friend. He's our heavenly father. He's for us, not against us. So let us go to him when we feel these ways. Not to man, but go to God. He's there to help us. But let's press forth. What are you feeling? Hey, you are about to feel this feeling. Okay. But now where are we going from there? We're going to stay stuck and be mediocre and, oh, I'm not going forth because this brother or this sister, or this person, family or friend or work or student classmate that hurt me and I'm sad, or I don't want to go forth, or we can make the better decision I'm going. I'm getting up. Yes, it hurts, I'm tired, I don't feel good, whatever the situation may be that you're having this moment, but I make a decision I'm going forth in Jesus name.

Speaker 2:

If you go back and you continue reading Exodus, god opened the Red Sea, which is one of the most miraculous miracles in the Bible of God parting the Red Sea and the Israelites walking on dry ground. It's powerful. If you believe what God did. It's the same God we serve today. He can move mountains for you.

Speaker 2:

The matter of circumstance or the situation, it's nothing hard for the Lord. All he asks is for your faith. All he asks is for our faith. Let me correct Our faith and our obedience to him. And he's able to do anything. Let us not limit him, limit him with our faith, our doubt. Let's trust and have a faith big enough to say you know what, lord, I don't understand, I don't see, but you've spoken and I'm going to stand forth on your word and I'm going forward on your word, knowing that this year you shall fulfill your promises and plans in my life. And I'm going to go forward and I'm going to get closer to you. I'm going to go more intimate with you, no matter what I'm going through at this moment. I choose and decide to go forth. I choose and decide. This is not going to define my life or it's not going to define who I am. I am pressing forth in Jesus' name. So, brothers and sisters, I wish you a happy new year and pray that this year brings a blessing over your life. Yes, circumstances and situations will come.

Speaker 2:

I'm not going to say this is going to be easy road, as the podcast is called Joy in the Journey. In this journey, even though we might go through something or we're going through something, we can have joy and strength, knowing that the Lord, the God Almighty. He loves us and that is our strength to go forth. Love's unconditional. He's there for us, to help us and press forth in this journey to, above all, make it to eternal life with him. An eternal weight of glory in heaven, an eternal life with him. That's the end goal to make it to heaven. And we fight and we press and we strive to enter in the kingdom of heaven. And as we're here on this earth, we do his work, we do his will and he, we do everything. He's spoken of our lives. I promise you, I come to pass in Jesus' name. I believe it and I thank God for his word today that he's ministered to our lives.

Speaker 2:

Let us go forth, brothers and sisters, in the name of Jesus, father, I want to come before you. I want to thank you for your word. Thank you, father God, for your faithfulness and grace, because your word is faithful and true and that you are capable of the more than I actually imagine. I pray for every one of us, father God, that are going through whatever we're going through in this moment. My Lord, this new year, we trust in you.

Speaker 2:

This new year, we believe in you that you shall do, father God, that you give us the strength to press forth.

Speaker 2:

You give us, my Lord praise, more of your glory, your presence, of your power, of your spirit, to let go of the past, let go of what happened beforehand.

Speaker 2:

Even today, what happened, father God, we let go of it in Jesus' name and we declare that we shall go forth, father God, in you, with you, helping us, holding us by hand if necessary, carrying us at certain times, father God, but we won't let go of your promises and your word, because you're faithful, you don't lie, you don't make mistakes, you are calculated and specific and detailed in every situation that you spoke should come to pass. Give us your strength and create your faith in us to press forth, father God, and we trust in you. We believe that you are capable of the more than we ask For. It's in Jesus' name we pray Amen. Amen. Brothers and sisters, friends and family, I pray this word be encouragement to you all and that this year brings nothing but the best for you. In the name of Jesus Christ, let us press forth. In Jesus' name, god bless and all the glory be to Him.
