Minute to Heal It Podcast
From Broken Ribs to New Beginnings: A Pastor's Healing Journey
What happens when biblical promises of healing collide with modern medical diagnoses? Pastor Linda Budd of Rivergate Church in Tulsa takes us on an extraordinary journey through her healing ministry, where the supernatural becomes tangible.
Linda shares her conviction that Scripture's mandate to "lay hands on the sick" isn't merely symbolic but deeply practical. This belief has driven her pursuit of a healing anointing that's manifested in countless recoveries from various ailments. The heart of her testimony revolves around a woman who arrived with broken ribs and breathing difficulties. Through prayer, the woman experienced immediate relief, exclaiming "I can breathe!" with newfound joy.
But the story doesn't end there. When the woman returned days later, she revealed additional injuries—a fractured spine that had left her visibly bent to one side and epilepsy causing weekly seizures for years. As Pastor Linda confronted what she terms "a controlling spirit," witnesses watched in amazement as the woman's spine straightened completely. Two weeks later, the woman testified that her seizures had completely stopped, breaking a pattern that had persisted for years.
These accounts challenge our understanding of healing and invite questions about the intersection of faith and medicine. Have we overlooked spiritual dimensions of physical ailments? Could authority exercised through faith catalyze healing beyond conventional treatment? Whatever your perspective, Linda's experiences offer compelling food for thought about the power of faith-based healing in contemporary life. Interested in experiencing this ministry firsthand? Hi, I'm Linda Budd. I'm a pastor at Rivergate Church in Tulsa, oklahoma, and I take the scriptures literally. That says that we are to lay hands on the sick and see them recover, and so for several years I've gone after a healing anointing. I've prayed for people dozens of times over the years and I see so many get healed. I've seen all manner of sickness and disease healed. If you have any pain in your body, if you're infirmed, if you have any disease, if you have any sickness at all, I just reach my hand up to heaven right now in the name of Jesus, and I call forth the new body part that you need.
Speaker 1:Listen to this testimony. It was a recharge service on a Wednesday night and I had just gotten done preaching and I saw a woman whom I've never seen before and I asked her if she had pain in her back. She responded that she did not, but that she had fallen and broken her ribs. She was in pain. I told her to walk to the front. The kingdom of God would hit her and heal her. So as she walked up, I got hit with that wonder-working power. I then told her she was healed. She began to say I can breathe, I can breathe. She was so excited. I asked her if the pain was gone and she reported that it was. But the thing she was most excited about was that she could breathe.
Speaker 1:Sunday night she came back. She testified that she could still breathe just fine. She then said that when she fell she fractured her spine. I told her to walk to the front and Jesus would give her a new spine. As she was coming to the front, she also said that she had epilepsy. Oh, that's when I got mad. Epilepsy is a controlling spirit from the devil and I am not going to tolerate it. I've seen so many healed who have had it even 30 seizures per day gone in an instant. Now, when she started coming forward, she was very much bent over to the side because of the fracture of her spine. But I took authority over that epileptic devil and suddenly, right before everyone's eyes, she totally straightened up. The usher was a big guy and he started screaming. He saw it right in his face and she was so stunned as well and smiling big. Everyone there thought I thought as well. I explained that she also got delivered from that epileptic demon, but I didn't know for sure. So here she came back on a Wednesday night and she looked so good standing up pollen straight, and at the close of the service I asked for testimonies. Well, she came up to share all of the above that I just told you, and then she stated that she no longer has epilepsy. I asked her how often she had those seizures and she stated at least once a week and had had it that way for years and years. Well, now it's been two weeks and she's had no seizures.
Speaker 1:Glory to God, do not tolerate epilepsy. It is a devil. It is not very strong and you can get mad at that thing because you have authority over it and you can look that thing in the face in the spirit and you can say, in the name of Jesus, you epileptic devil, you are coming up and out now and you are not going to control this person any longer and I declare that you are free in the name of Jesus. Aren't these just great testimonies of the goodness of God and the healing power of Jesus Christ? If you are interested in having me come and speak at a motivational event, your church or a conference of some sort, I am more than happy to consider that invitation.
