From Addiction To Healing And A New Calling

A quiet back row, a restless heart, and a single step into the light. That’s how Jerry’s story begins—a man weighed down by years of addiction who finally stood up to speak, voice shaking, eyes wet. What happened next moved the room from polite quiet to holy awe: addiction broke, a torn shoulder healed, and a new calling roared to life.
We walk through Jerry’s journey with care and clarity. He names the long trail of huffing, meth, and heavier drugs that framed his teens and adulthood, then tells how freedom arrived the first Sunday he walked into our church. A word of knowledge for shoulder pain draws him forward. After prayer, he raises an arm that doctors said needed surgery, testing the movement with a stunned smile as the pain leaves. Six months later, he stands with the same humility and reports no cravings, no slide back, just steady ground where chaos used to be.
The story doesn’t stop at rescue; it turns toward purpose. A prophetic picture of a lion unlocks something in him, and our community joins in a focused roar of intercession. We talk about what it means to carry authority after a breakthrough, how testimonies create faith for others, and why healing—physical and spiritual—often ushers in a new assignment. Expect practical hope, honest reflection, and a clear invitation to receive restoration wherever you need it most.
If you’ve been longing for a sign that change is possible, consider this your nudge. Uneasy Stirring In The Back Row
Linda BuddI asked for testimonies, and a man named Jerry was fidgeting in a seat, sitting way in back, and I thought, what's going on there? And uh he did not come forward or raise his hand, and some other people gave testimonies, and finally, with trembling, he stood up and he was very, very scared to stand in public and to give a testimony. But he came to the front and he began to testify that he'd been a terrible drug addict from the time he was a teenager, huffing gas and doing meth and um cannabis and then heavier drugs and just totally caught in addiction. And he said that he came into our church and on the very first Sunday, he got totally set free. And then I called him out because I gave a word of knowledge for shoulder pain. And he came up and he said that his rotator cuff was so totally torn that they were needing to go in and do a surgery, that he actually needed the ball put back in the socket and all kinds of terrible stuff. And uh I prayed for him. Immediately he got a brand new shoulder. He started lifting his arm up and down. He said, I could not do this. And um I reported this once before on this podcast. Well, here he was doing it again, and very humbly and with tears coming down his face. And he said that uh he's not gone back to his addiction. It's been six months, he's totally set free, has no desire for it, and the shoulder and everything is totally healing. And he was showing us how he's moving his arms all over, he has no pain. And then uh my daughter came up and she said, I see a lion spirit in you, and I see you down all floors, roaring like a lion in intercession. And he began to cry, and we all began to roar to help him to get into that place of roaring in intercession. I hope this testimony blesses you. And if there's just any part of it that pertains to you, grab a hold of it. Jesus is the restorer, and he is bringing that to you right now in the name of Jesus.
