Addiction can feel unbeatable when it has a grip on your thoughts, your body, and your choices. We sit with a raw moment from Linda Budd as she responds to someone asking for help with addiction and self-control, and we don’t stay vague or theoretical. We speak to the real struggle, then move straight into a clear, faith-filled path toward freedom.
We talk about more than behavior management. Linda names something many people overlook: Jesus can help you understand why you do addiction. That “why” can be the doorway to lasting change because it exposes what the habit has been trying to medicate, numb, or control. If you’ve been searching for Christian addiction recovery, a deliverance prayer for addiction, or practical steps to strengthen self-control, you’ll hear language that is direct, specific, and grounded in the name of Jesus.
Then we walk through a simple renunciation prayer: call the addiction by name, renounce it, and command the spirit of addiction to come up and out. We also make space for what comes next, because freedom is not just quitting. We end by receiving God’s peace and the ability to choose self-control, so your next decision isn’t driven by fear or craving.

The Lord came so strongly on a woman who said that she needed help with addiction and with self-control. And I want to tell you that if that's your story as well, Jesus is here to help you renounce addiction. He is here to help you to understand why you do addiction. He is here to help you to choose self-control. He is here to cast out that spirit of addiction. And then you will have the power to make the choice to not ever run into it again. I believe this for you. And so in the name of Jesus, I take authority over the addiction that has gotten a hold
A Cry For Help With Addiction
Linda Buddof you. I say in Jesus' name, we renounce this addiction now, and I just encourage you to call it by name
Jesus Offers Help And Clarity
Linda Buddand to renounce it. Say, I renounce you, addiction. And then say this in the name of Jesus, come up and out of me. And you command that spirit of addiction up and out in the name of the Lord. And now, Lord, I receive your peace, and I receive the ability to choose self control in the name of Jesus.
