I Thess. 1:16-18  16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

For those who are in Christ - this is God's will concerning you

  • continual rejoicing in the Lord   (Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice)
  • unceasing communion with God 
  • constant thanksgiving in  every circumstance and situation

The key is in Christ

  • in Christ, we have a great reason for joy, and we have the Holy Spirit to ignite that joy
  • In Christ, we have bold access to the throne of God, and the indwelling of God by his Spirit
  • In Christ, there is the fullness of God, and of that fulness we receive grace upon grace.
