Join us as we talk with Derrick Martin at the Kansas Arborists Association Shade Tree conference 2024 in Manhattan, KS where he gave a presentation on work positioning. He tells us about his journey with trees, beginning with landscaping, tree work, running ropes, feeding chippers, climbing trees, and becoming a mentor, educator, and brand ambassador. We discuss the importance of good mentorship, learning from mistakes to gain confidence and competency, and the importance of passion for finding and building a fulfilling career and life in the trees.
