The Winning Wednesdays Podcast: Overcoming Life’s Difficult Seasons

Reckless Love

Geneva Brown Season 2 Episode 10

One profound way to describe the love of Jesus is reckless. The idea of His love being reckless doesn’t mean careless or thoughtless—it means extravagant, relentless, and unrestrained. It’s a love that defies human logic because it’s not based on our worthiness or perfection—it’s rooted in His very nature.

Jesus’ love is reckless in the sense that He pursues us even when we’re broken, lost, or running away from Him. He leaves the 99 to chase after the one (Luke 15:4), not because it’s logical or efficient, but because His love knows no limits. That kind of love seems reckless to us because we tend to love with conditions and limits—but Jesus’ love knows no boundaries.

It’s in those moments when we feel least deserving that His reckless love shows up most powerfully. Have you ever experienced that kind of overwhelming love from Him—when you knew you didn’t deserve it, but He embraced you anyway?
