We bounce from spring planting excitement to real-life annoyances that hit a nerve, especially when someone blocks our driveway yet again. Along the way we talk lawn mistakes, pet updates, and the small decisions that somehow turn into big debates.

• starting tomato seedlings indoors and moving them for sunlight
• buying a raspberry plant and trying garlic planting for the first time
• watching the forecast and debating when it is safe to plant
• chasing yard sale signs and wasting gas anyway
• regretting glyphosate use and rebuilding a dead patch of lawn
• dealing with neighbors and lawn crews blocking our driveway
• getting Winston a short haircut and talking grooming opinions
• trying supplements for digestion, skin, and bad breath
• worrying about Leah going missing at Dad’s house
• comparing parking strategies and why we like backing in
• ending with a gross would-you-rather question

Driveway Anger And Missing Dog

SPEAKER_02

On this episode, Jody loses it again.

SPEAKER_03

What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_02

People and our driveway.

SPEAKER_03

Blocking our drive. I get it. Makes me mad. Yep.

SPEAKER_02

And why do we have tomatoes in the house?

SPEAKER_03

There's a reason. A good reason. Hey, and we're missing a dog. Missing our dog.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe she'll come back. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe. Find out on this episode.

SPEAKER_03

Chuck

Chuck Norris Opener And Episode Start

SPEAKER_03

Norris doesn't worry about high gas prices. His vehicles run on fear. Welcome back, episode 65. Happy Monday to you. I just thought I'd throw that one out there since uh the high gas prices. Once again, we're carrying on the Chuck Norris meme theme in remembrance of him. We lost him two weeks ago, so. I've got 2,329 more to go. So one per episode.

SPEAKER_02

I can't wait.

SPEAKER_03

And I just threw that number out there. That's pretty good, right? 17 is a number I go to a lot. Like if you're gonna say so, I'll always say 17. Yeah. 17 is just like a go-to number. That's weird. Just a random number I pick. And I always pick it, almost always.

SPEAKER_02

And that's not even your favorite number.

SPEAKER_03

No, it's not.

SPEAKER_02

And you pick 17. Okay then. Yeah.

Tomato Seedlings Take Over Table

SPEAKER_03

Well, why do I have all these tomatoes sitting in front of me? So Amanda's mad because on our table right here, we've got our two leather recliners that we used to video when we record these episodes. And we've got this table in front of us. What is it?

SPEAKER_02

It's just a nice table. It's just like a coffee table.

SPEAKER_03

Like a coffee towel, I was trying to think of it.

SPEAKER_02

That you built.

SPEAKER_03

That I built. And it's too big for it's my favorite. Yeah, I like it, but it's really too big for anywhere in the house. So it's been moved here and there and everywhere, so it's found its place here. Well now I have planted tomato seeds in little cups. And I just counted a minute ago, and I think there's fifty-one. Give or take, one, two, or three. So they've been growing for three weeks, and they're probably about three inches tall. And they're on this table. So when Amanda reclines back in her recliner, her feet is just about touching the uh little containers I've got them in. So I'm taking them in and out every day.

SPEAKER_02

So when I get babying these things.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so when I get home in the evening time, well you can't leave them outside yet because they're still too young. It's too early. You can't plant them yet. So they stay in little cups. So I take 'em and put 'em in the windowsill in the first room you come into in the house in the evening time. So they get about three hours of good sunlight in the evening time. And so then I water 'em before I bring 'em back in here and put 'em back on this table. And then I do the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

Why they got B's on 'em.

SPEAKER_03

B's?

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm. Some of 'em have the letter B.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, why did I put a B on?

SPEAKER_02

You don't even know. I see three right here that have the letter B on there. B for Bob.

SPEAKER_03

Keep talking.

SPEAKER_02

Did you nickname those three Bob?

unknown

Let me see.

SPEAKER_02

Bob, Bob, and Bob. Or what'd you do? That's the brand. I mean, big boy. Big boy.

SPEAKER_03

Big Daddy is what it's gotta be. Yeah, there's a big boy. Before I kind of de found a decent container to put them in, I was gonna I was gonna, you know, put a B on all of the ones. I didn't put them in black.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I see what you have 'em in now. Where did you get the little black bowls?

SPEAKER_03

Those were in my building stacked up that I've had for probably a good year.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

They're little containers.

SPEAKER_02

Because we have some in the kitchen.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, really? No, I didn't get some under the bar. No, I probably had 20 of them. Okay. Yeah. That must have been when we had a big pack of them. But today we bought, is it uh a raspberry bush? It's a raspberry. Raspberry bush, and then we bought some garlic to plant.

SPEAKER_02

But why does garlic already look like garlic? So you plant a clove of garlic to grow garlic. Well, that's like a bulb. But that's what the garlic looks like.

SPEAKER_03

It does, it does. So I don't know. I've never planted garlic, so we'll find out this year.

SPEAKER_02

Judy

Garlic Planting And Frost Worries

SPEAKER_02

says, pick it out, I'll plant it.

SPEAKER_03

I'm itching to plant.

SPEAKER_02

And then it was cold today. We go to Home Depot, we leave early.

SPEAKER_03

That's the bad thing about this right here. When you get warm weather, you I feel like I'm behind. You get the itch. Yeah, start planting. You can get ahead so you can get these crops in earlier, right? But what did I send you yesterday? Uh April 6th. They're expecting a cold snap.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Span the man says don't plant.

SPEAKER_03

He's that says it every year. I always say after Easter. But this time he's giving a definite date, kinda.

SPEAKER_02

After the sixth or seventh. That's next weekend, right? That's past next week.

SPEAKER_03

April first is Wednesday, which is also April Fool's Day. Uh-huh. And it's also Passover. Mm-hmm. It's a lot going on. And Sunday is Sunday. Well, no. It's already passed.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, it's already passed.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we're recording on Saturday.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You're hearing it on Monday. So Sunday was what? It's Palm Sunday.

SPEAKER_03

Palm Sunday.

SPEAKER_02

My first solo at church in the choir.

SPEAKER_03

But Palm Sunday is I would say it's not gonna be it's not a very populated Sunday. You're I don't see an increase in attendance.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_03

Simply because you're gonna be you're on the back side of spring break. So people are coming back from vacation. It don't always fall that lane. I know, I know. I'm just talking about that.

SPEAKER_02

But this time it has, yeah. So you're either down in church at the beginning of spring break or at the end or both.

SPEAKER_03

I need that mute button over here close to me.

SPEAKER_02

You got the coughs? I do. Keep talking. I d I I can't keep talking. Are you muting it? What are we doing?

SPEAKER_03

I'm turning I'm turning two mics off that uh you get a little bit of feedback, kinda. Oh you can kind of tell. If you wear headphones like that.

SPEAKER_02

I ain't wearing no headphones.

SPEAKER_03

I know.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, it's Palm Sunday. So Palm Sunday end of spring time. Throws it on over.

SPEAKER_03

Palm Sunday starts the uh beginning of the uh religious week celebration, I guess you would say. Holy week. Holy week. That's what I'm trying to say. Yeah, religious week. What does that mean?

SPEAKER_02

You couldn't spit it out.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's when when Jesus rides into Jerusalem and they all got palm branches. Excited to see 'em and and it changes pretty quick.

SPEAKER_02

Pretty quick. You gonna tell us the story again this year?

SPEAKER_03

You know, I got uh copyright infringement on the last year from YouTube.

SPEAKER_02

For telling, for reading out of the Bible or something.

SPEAKER_03

I think it was because I used a picture, you know, on you know, as the it wasn't even really the thumbnail, but it's uh a picture that I think it was that they considered copyrighted. But you can because I don't think I use copyrighted music. Because I went through, you know, I was a little bit more.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you always make sure on that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it takes look, when you go through music trying to find something to put on and some like when you're doing the story.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we're not even going on YouTube anymore, so you can do it. You can do your story.

SPEAKER_03

Not your story. If you want to hear it in a country fied voice, the Easter story.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I think you did a good job.

SPEAKER_03

But like when you do the Easter story, you just can't pick any kind of music.

SPEAKER_02

You gotta find something that's you know Why are you even putting music just to have something in the background? I've got to have something, yeah. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, if I but I don't want it to give but another knock, you know, or three strikes you're out type thing. I don't want to give you a lot of things.

SPEAKER_02

But you said that was YouTube, so this is not YouTube.

SPEAKER_03

This is But this still comes out on our YouTube channel automatically. So if it's the music part, but if so you're not gonna do a thumbnail. Correct. Because I don't have to because it all does it automatically. It just uses our Yeah, our existing picture for the podcast. What I'm saying is if for some reason if the music is actually copyrighted Oh yeah, you'd get another. I'd get another strike. And I don't know if it'd go against our page or if it'd go against the user. And I've you know, and me having three channels is it gonna hurt uh all of them.

SPEAKER_02

Why do you have so many? Oh my lord.

SPEAKER_03

I'm into all kinds of shorts.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah, so so it's we've had a code spell today.

Cold Weather And Gas Price Talk

SPEAKER_03

It's been it was 81 yesterday. Running around in shorts. The high today was 61. I was running around in short today, too.

SPEAKER_02

But this morning I left in a sweatshirt and leggings.

SPEAKER_03

And it was 48 this morning when we left. It was cold.

SPEAKER_02

We rode, we rode around wasting gas like it was like it cost 98 cents back in the day. That's how much it was today, we thought.

SPEAKER_03

But in the upper 40s, you wear shorts just like a sweatshirt.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely not. Absolutely not. I never wear shorts and a sweatshirt.

SPEAKER_03

You know, I think with high gas prices, it doesn't really affect me deciding to go down the road. I think it would affect me if I was deciding to go on a trip or not. Simply because you're gonna use a lot more, you know, it's gonna look like a lot more on paper when you do that. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but you get gas.

SPEAKER_03

Like if I was gonna go to the nearest town that's say 15 miles away, I'm not gonna be like, well, I'm going there later on this evening. I don't need to go twice because of gas prices.

SPEAKER_02

I always think about going twice. I don't like going twice.

SPEAKER_03

We don't want to go twice because it feels like you why if I'm going once, why can't I get it all done? Try and be productive and get it all, but it doesn't bother me for the most part.

Yard Sale Signs And Wrong Turns

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So we rode around this morning hunting yard sales, followed this one sign.

SPEAKER_03

Hold on, we have a bad pattern with yard sales.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we do.

SPEAKER_03

And the bad pattern with yard sales is that when we find a yard sale, we don't stop. You know, it's because dry by.

SPEAKER_02

We do dry bys.

SPEAKER_03

We turn our nose up and we act like the stuff that they have is not good enough for us, so we're not gonna even stop. And then we gripe because we can't find yard sales, but we found.

SPEAKER_02

But I think the weather detoured me this morning because it was so windy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it was so bad windy.

SPEAKER_02

But that one sign that that you saw, we got to the next sign.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I I stood us on our nose too.

SPEAKER_02

Stood us up on our nose.

SPEAKER_03

There's a uh chartreuse green colored sign that says yard sale. So I whip it down this road and we go. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

It wasn't far. No, it wasn't far to the farm. Yeah, but you shouldn't. At the next turn, at the next turn, the s excuse me. There was another sign, and it was like all bedazzled and stuff, like they spent some time on this sign.

SPEAKER_03

I was thinking this is gonna have some good stuff.

SPEAKER_02

And then Jody's like, yes, if they're doing this. And then there's a sign under it. So they were like two small signs. There was a sign under it, and it says They had last last weekend's date on it. Yeah, it had the 23rd on there or whatever.

SPEAKER_03

So then we're trying to decide.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, yeah, I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but then we're trying to decide, are we sure those signs are together?

SPEAKER_02

Right. We didn't know that they went together, but we kept going down the road and going down the road and apparently it was last year, yeah. Cause we never saw it.

SPEAKER_03

But I got to go down a road I hadn't been down in about five years, so Yeah. I mean, I nothing exciting about it.

SPEAKER_02

Nothing had changed.

SPEAKER_03

It doesn't it's not a shortcut anywhere, I know that. So there's really no and I don't know anybody that lives on that road.

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_03

Or at least I I do, but nobody's house that I'm gonna be invited to or gonna just stop by and so.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like we done circles this morning.

SPEAKER_03

Well we did, and then it was too early to go to a place we wanted to go.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So then we had to go somewhere else and waste time till we could go back.

SPEAKER_02

I don't ended up at Home Depot.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we went at Home Depot and then didn't get what I was I just wanted to look. Because But you acted like you were getting Well, I say that every time I go, I'm getting it 'cause I'm like, I gotta pull the trigger, I gotta get this done. But I've killed

Lawn Mistake With Glyphosate

SPEAKER_03

my yard, I've killed the grass up on the on the hill because I used to have pretty grass and I don't know how much of the story I've already told, but I took a chance in using glyphosate, which is like a you know, kill everything, but if you did if your grass is dormant in the wintertime, it's not gonna absorb it, supposedly. It's gonna kill everything that's green. The green stuff means it's alive, it's feeding, all that stuff. Well, I knew I was getting close to where everything's gonna start turning green because it's getting warmer. This has been four or five weeks ago now. And so I did it. Well, sure enough, I'd I shouldn't have done it. I've killed everything.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, yes. No grass cutting.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, you talking about.

SPEAKER_02

Just gonna cut his grass cutting time in half.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so I'd put the lawn mower. And see, that was the thing this week too. Look, you're starting to a springs around the corner, you're trying to get everything, so I had to get the lawn mower out, had to air up the tires because all of them were flat. Changed the oil in it. Luckily the battery was fine, it cranked right up, but I put that baby on low. I had I was dragging the ground with that blade, and I just cut everything down.

SPEAKER_02

I bet it was killing.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, and it the dust and all that, yeah. But that's what I've got to do. I've got to get rid of pretty much every existing twig. It's not a twig, but weed that's just dead. Anything that's dead up there, I I gotta try and dig it up and start over. So anybody's got any suggestions? I've I've got a game plan, but I've YouTube some of it and Googled some of it and chat GPT'd some of it and groked some of it. I'm just trying to figure out. Now I now I'm confused on what seed I want to use. I want centipede, but then it's gonna take a couple of years to get it established the way I want it, and I don't know if I'm willing to.

SPEAKER_02

So can you not put something and centipede?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Can you not mix something stuff to get you something in there? I don't think you're gonna have anything this year.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. And that's why I'm so I'm like, I I want to get it done because of all this warm weather we've had, I feel like it should have already happened before.

SPEAKER_02

April showers. But I know you need to do it before we get the April shower.

SPEAKER_03

I know what I'm saying is I don't need to do it because of I'm waiting now, I'm waiting on this possible frost. So I got another ten days before I can do anything. But I gotta get the stuff prepared.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, get you game plan.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, tools, whatever I've got to tell you.

SPEAKER_02

And we get in there and he's like I mean, I've even talked about I'm not gonna do it today, so I'm not gonna get it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I've even talked about tilling up the whole yard.

SPEAKER_02

He's even gonna rent a tiller. He's gonna rent a tiller and he's gonna till our yard.

SPEAKER_03

But I'm like, that is like last resort, because I don't even know if I can handle a a tiller right now. Yeah, not where surgery would be the dramatic, the like extreme side of it, and I don't want to do that.

SPEAKER_02

Um So if you got any suggestions, send us a text.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, go ahead. Or comment on this.

SPEAKER_02

What do you do? I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Send us a text, go into the Are you a landscaper?

SPEAKER_02

Let us know.

SPEAKER_03

On the description it says right above it, send us a text, tap on it, and it goes into the text and ability, sends it straight to the book. Let us know what he can do. Yeah, give me some suggestions. I like to know what y'all. Not that I might might or might not listen to you. I don't know, but I like I mean I like a suggestion. Well, what's it gonna hurt at this point? I know. I'd yeah, I need a uh somebody to help. I don't need comments. I know.

SPEAKER_02

But he don't want to pay nobody, so let's let's go there.

SPEAKER_03

I know.

SPEAKER_02

Joe is not a pay somebody to do any kind of yard work.

SPEAKER_03

The well one landscaping crew I've ran off.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, do we want to talk about that?

SPEAKER_03

If you want to, I don't

Neighbors Block The Drive Again

SPEAKER_03

care.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm sitting in my little office, I call it back there, my little room, my nail room.

SPEAKER_03

And we've talked about our driveway.

SPEAKER_02

We have talked about it. Yeah, yeah, we've talked about it. So here's another and so I'm in there. I might have been eat I don't I don't know what I was doing, but he I had already been somewhere. And um oh yeah, I had to I went to Oatman.

SPEAKER_03

Um You hadn't been home too long.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I hadn't been home long at all, and he comes in there and he says, Um, oh, I was eating because I brought us food back. That's right. And um he comes in there and he says, Do you need to go anywhere? And I'm like, Jody is not coming in there asking me if I need to go somewhere just to be asking me that. I'm like, you trying to kick me out of the house or what? And he's like, Well, they got our drive blocked up there. The grass-cutting crew, the neighbors' the lawn care service. The neighbors' lawn care service. And if y'all have been around a while, y'all know Jody cannot stand their driveway to be blocked.

SPEAKER_03

Well, they dang it, they backed so that they like passive.

SPEAKER_02

There's plenty of room for them to get over into his side of the driveway. Park on the road, whatever, but don't don't take don't I know they can park on the road because two mornings this week, another lawn service has parked on the road, and I've had to get off in the ditch.

SPEAKER_03

Listen, we've got our the other neighbor on the opposite side of us has been building their Hilton hotel for the last eight months, and then their neighbor, so that the our immediate neighbor and the one right beside them are building houses. And we have had so many trucks blocking roads on the main road to it's normal. I'm used to it. Yeah. Why not a stupid truck that's got a uh enclosed trailer that's got a lawnmower on it? Why can't they do it? No, they have to go past our drive, then back into our drive, all the way down our drive and block it.

SPEAKER_02

And block it. So he wants me to leave, so I'm like, okay. Why do I want you to leave? So I can make a move. That's right. You don't want me to do it. So I go up there and they're out and I just lay on the horn.

SPEAKER_03

I keep hearing you lay on the horn. Because I'm out like weed eating and stuff, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I'm like, I I lay on it too. Because they can't hear me because they got their earphones or whatever on, and they got the weed eaters going and and that stuff. And and the guy that's at the top of the hill, so there's the top of the hill, and then our neighbor has um a backyard, and I guess the main guy that drives is in the backyard because the guy at the top of the hill says, I said, Can you please move? I need to get out. He said, I I have to go get him.

SPEAKER_03

Is that how he's talking?

SPEAKER_02

He said, I gotta go get him. And I said, Okay. And then he goes and gets him, and then Jody has a few words with him.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no, no. Look, this is how it goes. He he tells, he he calls the guy's name, he says, You've got to move the truck. He said, Why? Like that. And he said, 'Cause we're blocking the drive. And then he said, What what did I say? He said.

SPEAKER_02

You said he mumbled something under his head.

SPEAKER_03

No, he said a smart like whatever sure like that.

SPEAKER_02

And uh and I said, what did I hold on.

SPEAKER_03

Now I'm confused.

SPEAKER_02

Now he's getting mad.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'm getting mad because I now can't. I'm blacking out. I can't remember what we said. You told him to park in the road. No, it this is what it was. The guy said, I need yes, you need to move the truck. And the guy says, why? And then I say, You're blocking our drive. And he said, sure. Like that right there. And then he mumbled something. I said, There's no way. Park it on the road.

SPEAKER_02

There's no way I am driving through our yard. Jody would have my team.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, driving our yard, we've got a driveway.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, the whole purpose of me going anyway was to get them to move. Exactly. I'm trying to do that. Jody was being a little turd that made me go somewhere. In the truck. Remember, I don't even have my car still. Car is still sitting. We're gonna get it somewhere this week, hopefully. So I'm in the I call it the big truck because we got a big truck and we got a little truck. We got a tundra and we got a baby. A tundra and Tacoma. So you got daddy and baby. So I'm in the Big Daddy. I call it the Big Daddy. But long story short, I didn't know I can't see I didn't know.

SPEAKER_03

Listen, I did not smart off to the guy. I just tell him because you're blocking our drive. Well, mine in my rearview mirror, it looked like you smarted. Can't you park on the road? And I just because he's smart when he smarted off something, that's why I said, What? I didn't say that. And that's when I started walking up the hill.

SPEAKER_02

And then I saw Jody come and I'm like, I wasn't looking wrapped.

SPEAKER_03

I wasn't meaning business or nothing like that. Yes, you was. Nope, nope, nope.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, you was.

SPEAKER_03

I wasn't coming prepared. Two guys a lot bigger than me, and uh you want me to walk up the hill in my condition.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you were coming up it.

SPEAKER_03

I was out of breath, all that, and you want me to fight two guys over them parking in the drive. No, it wouldn't have come down to that.

SPEAKER_02

But why didn't they pull in the drive and just pull in his little garage thing? They have plenty of room to get their lawnmowers and stuff out when they do that too.

SPEAKER_03

I know that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_02

Is like there's no other cars in there, and he has a carport. You can pull straight under that carport, and you've got still Got concrete where you can get your lawnmowers and your wheat eaters and your whatever you got. You got plenty of room to back those out, and you're not blocking the drive. And when you leave and you back out, you still have room to get your truck in and out. This is it makes sense to me.

SPEAKER_03

We've never explained this is a joined driveway, but the driveway, all of it is our property. And just years ago it just happened anyway. But yeah, it's like his mailbox is even on almost on our property. So nobody really everybody thinks all of that up there, even our heat though, even our yard is part of his property. Funny thing is, he barely has a yard because it's all of our property.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Just drives me crazy.

SPEAKER_02

And this has gone on for Well, we've been here twenty-eight years.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, and twenty-eight years, yes.

SPEAKER_02

So it's gone on. Well, no, the other neighbors weren't as bad as he was.

SPEAKER_03

This was the thing, and I'm not calling any any names, but a wife back in the day, his wife back in the day, they had a party and they part and blocked everything up.

SPEAKER_02

First wife?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

And I drove up partially up the hill, and I got out and knocked on their door, and everybody's like informal. I'm talking like tuxes type deal. It's crazy. And she answered the door, didn't give me the time of day or anything, and she said, Let me guess, we blocked your drive. Like that. And she closed the door.

SPEAKER_02

And ever since then, Jody S had.

SPEAKER_03

When I turned around and started walking back to my truck, I looked underneath the little garage they had and saw the husband standing there, just standing there drinking a beer. Never gave me the time of day, never asked what's wrong, anything happening, nothing. So I think from that day forward that has just left a bad taste in my mouth. Yeah. Maybe but he's been there like twenty-two of them.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, he's been there the longest, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um but nothing. I'm not trying to I'm not saying anything bad about our neighboring. We're just telling about the situation with the driveway.

SPEAKER_02

But nobody knows.

SPEAKER_03

But But the thing is he never tells anyone either. Because they had a they left one day going to eat. We found this out later, and the guy parked behind his car, and when they're going to eat, it was a uh Boy Scout thing. I remember. He had the guy the guy just backed out from behind him and backed down our drive and part. Got out and got in his car with him and they left and a few other people. He knew. Our neighbor knew what the situation was blocking our drive and still left. And then I couldn't get out that morning, and you had to call. Anyway. Alright, let's get Jody off that subject. I mean there's there's yeah, I can keep going. There's several. Well, just like when the long care guys, sometimes they cut part of the top of the hill.

SPEAKER_02

Once wide. One strip.

SPEAKER_03

Comes on our property on the edge of the drive and just makes one strip all the way down it. To the point to where I had to put two by fours all across all down the edge. I even put a sign up. This is crazy. I put a sign up and said, stop cutting our grass.

SPEAKER_02

The thing is, he he gets different line companies to do it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, this but this one's been with him for a while. Yeah. So it's a different person every time I have to get in the city. It is a different person.

SPEAKER_02

So they don't know. Common sense is not to block somebody's driveway.

SPEAKER_03

I'm sure now it's like crazy. I'm crazy neighbor. So when they so when they send out whoever to cut this grant was, the crazy guy neighbor.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. When you go down that road, remember.

SPEAKER_03

It wouldn't be just on park in the drive. You haven't looked at a common sense. It's not common sense. It is actually common sense.

SPEAKER_02

Because even if the neighbor's not home, what if the neighbor came home while they were there? He couldn't get in his driveway.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

He couldn't get in his parking place.

SPEAKER_03

I I remember I came home last, I think it was last summer, and there was a truck and trailer blocking our drive. And I laid on the horn just because it was like, here we go again or whatever, and I finally got out. And this guy's working on his heat pump. And he was real nice. He was gonna move and all that stuff, but it was gonna be a lot, and I just told him, I said, I said, no, no, no, no. I said, You're fine.

SPEAKER_02

So you just want to make it a point.

SPEAKER_03

I told him I didn't know who it was. I because I thought he would I I can't remember now if our neighbor was home at the time. Oh too. Because usually that's the thing. If the neighbor is home and he knows this is happening, I get very irritated.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You understand what I'm saying? Yes. But anyway, so this guy was real nice. I said, no, no, no, no. I said, do not move. I said, that's fine, I'll go around. So I went through our yard and that was fine. Simply because I thought Nick was home. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Dogs are going crazy.

SPEAKER_03

I just told him, I said, look, I said, we just have issues.

SPEAKER_02

All right, we're dropping this.

SPEAKER_03

So

Winston’s Haircut And Dog Health

SPEAKER_03

I said, you're fine.

SPEAKER_02

Speaking of the dogs, we should we got Winston a haircut Thursday.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I thought it was time for a summer cut. So he is shaved. And his little booty is freezing now.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he got shaved a day too early because he he's been cold.

SPEAKER_02

We should have waited a week.

SPEAKER_03

But he looks so much better when he's like. And then Nicholas gets mad because he's like, do not give him a haircut when he's that shaved. Says do not shave him down. He's not supposed to be. He even looked it up online. And a lot of them said that normally you do not shave a Yorkie all the way down.

SPEAKER_02

They're the grammars, they know what you do. And they're the ones that tell me, so that's what we do.

SPEAKER_03

But he looks so much better. Just think if he didn't, he'd have to have a haircut every three weeks.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah. Well, that's why I make them do like his face gets fuzzy fast. So I always tell them, they're like, You don't want to leave it long? And I'm like, No, I want it cut.

SPEAKER_03

But then she also asked about his breath. Said his breath was a lot better. Wasn't as bad as usually yes. I don't know. We I can't figure out his breath. I don't know. We were getting them these little tablet things for the or not tablets, it's kind of like a treat, but it's for their digestion. Yeah. And all that, and it seemed I think we need to get some. It has helped both of them with their skin. Uh especially Coco, because she was having her foot, her feet and lower legs were really she started gnawing at them a lot. I think I need to get some more of those. I got stuff to put on them and all that stuff, and it just didn't help, but it maybe either it just it either ran its course or this stuff finally got in their system.

SPEAKER_02

I think it finally got in their system and we should have kept going and I cut it off too soon just to see, and now you've noticed he's got red on him. Yeah, so I think we probably need to get some back.

Leah Goes Missing At Dad’s House

SPEAKER_03

So And then we got another our other dog has gone missing.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So we have a dog at your dad's house.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

That three weeks now? No, no, it's no two weeks. Not quite two. Oh it's been like ten days. Oh, okay. Um, so yeah, we just keep her down there until we sell the house.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I like her down there. I mean, I thought it was good to have her down there, so maybe nobody wouldn't bother.

SPEAKER_03

She looks mean, but she's not mean. She is so not mean. She is so she's a sweet. She's got a bark, but yeah. She's her name's Leah. You can tell her to speak, she'll speak, she can see it, all that stuff. She's real smart dog. Um, but yeah, we we kept her down there. Uh we went down there every day, fed her, made sure all that kind of stuff. And then uh but yeah. And now we went down there to feed her.

SPEAKER_02

And she's gone.

SPEAKER_03

And uh Yeah, she's gone. So I don't know. I don't know. So we kept we kept putting or when I went down there and she went down there, I left food, looked for her. Went down there the next day, the food is gone, she's still not there. Went down the next day, the food was gone again, she was not there.

SPEAKER_02

You done that for about four or five days.

SPEAKER_03

I did. And so I kind of strategically placed the bowl around just to see, 'cause I there is other dogs around that neighborhood and stuff, so I don't know, Roman-wise, I don't know w you know, once a dog finds out there's a food source there, they're gonna be making a path over the house.

SPEAKER_02

But that little toy ball is in the same place when me and you went the last time or something.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well, if something's happened to her, because she wouldn't she's never done this. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, she goes off, but she always can go back, yeah. I feel like she must have got into somebody's about something.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, she I looked it up and she's ten years old. She's she's getting a little bit of age on her, but so she but she wasn't she's the age that she just doesn't roam around and r run off and stuff, so she'll go off and come back.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

She's not yeah, so I hate it. Yeah. Because we were gonna breathe once we'd sold the house coming home with us, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But you never know. You know, one time we had a dog and she was missing for months. And one day we were outside and she just came down the driveway.

SPEAKER_03

You talking about Sadie?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

She wasn't missing that long.

SPEAKER_02

Was she not? Well, she went missing twice. First time we got her back, second time is when she came down the driveway.

SPEAKER_03

She was missing just a few days that time. That second time. Yeah. The other time she got stole. Yeah. And we actually put a ad. This is back when, you know, everybody still get got the newspaper. We actually put an ad in the paper about a missing dog, not expecting anything, and we had an older lady call and say, uh hey, a dog's wandered up. It kind of she fits this description, but we're like, this is not our dog, but we'll go.

SPEAKER_02

Because it was 30 minutes away, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it was like 30 miles.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's you know, almost it's yeah. I was gonna say another county, but it Yeah, I wasn't gonna do that. Um got up there and sure enough, it was her. Yeah, so the funny thing about it was that she was up there close to where the people we bought her from.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. You mean I bought her from for Christmas. All right. Is that what we we good today?

SPEAKER_03

I

Parking Strategy And Backing In

SPEAKER_03

got a question. You want a question?

SPEAKER_02

Oh Lord. Well, is that what that says on our board over there? When I glanced on our little board, Jody might likes to make us a little board that has our topics on there. I thought it said Casad Diaz for Amanda. I got excited for a minute. But I think it says questions.

SPEAKER_03

All right, I got a question. I don't like questions. Uh, what's your parking spots? Listen, what's your parking strategy when you go to a store? All right, say a Walmart, a pharmacy, uh, fast food. Maybe not fast food because you always go through the drive-thru, but is it different for different places?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, mine's different for different places.

SPEAKER_03

All right, tell me. What is it?

SPEAKER_02

I'll tell you mine. I mean when I go to Walmart, yeah. I go to the grocery pickup and I leave.

SPEAKER_03

Before you did that, I could not tell you last time. Do you park on a certain side always?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. And I always I always park when I go to Walmart, I always park going up. So when you back out toward so when you back out, you go toward the store, and then I can go across the front and go down the aisle where the red light is at our Walmart.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Down the aisle where the red light is.

SPEAKER_03

Because if you don't go to that red light, you're gonna get out of here. If you don't go the way you do it, depending on what time of day, you're never gonna get out.

SPEAKER_02

So when I go, when I pick up groceries, I go across the grocery side, and you got two aisles you can park on, and I always park on the one going up because you go two more over, and that's the one coming down to go to the red light.

SPEAKER_03

So anywhere else, say say you go to a mall. Are you just trying to find the closest parking spot?

SPEAKER_02

I used to, but I don't always now. I don't I don't know what I really do because I don't know. I don't really go anywhere anymore, but What about uh like a pharmacy or something?

SPEAKER_03

You just trying to park at the front door when it comes to something small like that, or does it matter?

SPEAKER_02

It don't matter. I'm a drive-thru person.

SPEAKER_03

When it comes with Walmart, when you when you work for Walmart, when you're hired in, part of the thing is they tell you don't park close to the store because those parking places are for customers. Yes. So park far away. I get that. Yeah. And I don't know if that kind of instilled something in me from that or what, but I just do not park close. Any any home depot or nothing. Yeah, you don't hardly. But I try and think ahead too. I don't want to park in a position to where when I try and back out. Well, that's because you're in the big truck. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's not huge, but I mean, I'm in a little car to where here this last week I've been driving yours and his, and I like to back up. I don't know what got into me. I think from when I got bit by the snake, I it's like I just like to back up every time now. And so even when I park at work, I back into my parking place.

SPEAKER_03

So you got bit by a snake and that causes you to back up. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

It just seems like when I did, you know how so on our driveway, if you pull down, I'm on the side, I would be getting out on the side where the grass was. I didn't even get bit in the grass.

SPEAKER_03

But I feel like ever since then I have backed in to the thing, you would think you wouldn't want to go to the front door anymore because that's where you got bit.

SPEAKER_02

So I don't know. It's like everywhere I go, I just back in. If I go to church on Wednesdays and Sundays, I back in to my parking place.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I tell you the smartest thing to do. And it's just like too with some some parking decks. Yeah, some companies uh suggest that you uh to back back when you arrive. In other words, meaning like if if I'm coming into a parking lot and wherever I'm gonna park at, I'm already aware of my surroundings. Maybe I've just passed that spot. So if I'm gonna back up, I know what's there. Yeah. You know, now if I'm parked somewhere to where I'm inside a store, I'm shopping, and now come out and want to back up and don't know if a car's coming. So you you got a better chance, of course, of having a fender bender. But uh, so yeah, I always I would prefer to be able to just pull right out and not even having to back up. Even with a camera, I don't even like using the cameras. I'd rather look out the sides and all this.

SPEAKER_02

I'd rather look out the sides. Yeah, because you just can't trust in my car I hardly use the camera, but when I drive y'all's truck, just because I'm basically just going to work and back in in the trucks, and so I don't move the mirrors because I don't want to mess them up, because y'all drive them. I'm not I can make it to where I'm going with the way that's like a rear view mirror.

SPEAKER_03

I will never mess up with a rear view mirror if I get in your car or something. Yeah. Normally simply because I know it's where you like.

SPEAKER_02

But let me tell you, since I've been driving your truck, I can't see over the uh side mirror. So like when I'm pulling out at the end of mirrors, yeah, you're right. Of the dam road. I have I have to sit up because your seat you can That's the name of the road, by the way.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. Not a man that's right. I know she this would be the third straight.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's gonna bleak me again.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

So I have to sit up because it's in my blind it's like I I can't see over it. Cause your your seat doesn't raise up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Talking about seats, how do you like it when I get out of the truck and forget to move the seat back?

SPEAKER_03

Well, I have to move the seat back before I get in the truck because there's no way I can't I can't squeeze in. It's ridiculous. It's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Well, if they had made JC Penney's catalogs it anymore, it wouldn't be quite as bad.

SPEAKER_03

That's right. All right, one more question. This'll

Toothbrush Question And Closing

SPEAKER_03

be a quick one.

SPEAKER_02

Oh dear.

SPEAKER_03

And then we'll get out of here. That was nice.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, I forgot to turn my head. Excuse me.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_02

I guess the allergies are messing up.

SPEAKER_03

Would you rather share a toothbrush with me for a week or let me pick out your outfits for a month? I will share a toothbrush. That's bad. That is pretty bad. So you don't have confidence in my ability to pick out your color brush.

SPEAKER_02

You're colorblind.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Legally I'm fine. I'm not colorblind.

SPEAKER_02

You're not blind.

SPEAKER_03

That's your opinion. It's not a medical thing.

SPEAKER_02

Well, no, you're you're colorblind. No, I'll share a toothbrush.

SPEAKER_03

That's disgusting.

SPEAKER_02

I'll share a toothbrush.

SPEAKER_03

That's pretty bad.

SPEAKER_02

Really?

SPEAKER_03

There's no well, you have no faith in me picking out your clothes.

SPEAKER_02

Well.

SPEAKER_03

I get it. I would not even know where to start.

SPEAKER_02

See?

SPEAKER_03

I'd just be like bottoms and a top. Here you go. That's what I mean. Here and here. Yeah. I can't do it. All right, we're out here. Thanks for listening. Check us out every Monday and Thursday.
