I love that Bible verse. So it"},{"startTime":73.79,"endTime":77.23,"body":"really hit me because I've been reading through all of Proverbs. I'm sure you noticed."},{"startTime":77.23,"endTime":80.63,"body":"Cause in the other podcast I've done this past week,"},{"startTime":81.03,"endTime":84.83,"body":"I've been reading from Proverbs. So this hit me"},{"startTime":84.83,"endTime":88.49,"body":"because, you know, our culture is very much obsessed with"},{"startTime":88.49,"endTime":91.69,"body":"the self. You hear a lot about my"},{"startTime":91.69,"endTime":95.41,"body":"recognition, my affirmation, trusting myself,"},{"startTime":95.73,"endTime":98.85,"body":"loving myself, I'm treating myself."},{"startTime":99.65,"endTime":103.49,"body":"Everything has to go through the filter of the self."},{"startTime":103.97,"endTime":107.77,"body":"Does this sound good to you? Do you feel good about this? Does this look"},{"startTime":107.77,"endTime":111.45,"body":"good to you? And it's not going through the"},{"startTime":111.45,"endTime":115.1,"body":"filter of humility and servanthood. Here's the truth of the matter. In our"},{"startTime":115.1,"endTime":118.86,"body":"lives, we don't do life alone. There are"},{"startTime":118.86,"endTime":122.66,"body":"other people in your life and we directly affect those other"},{"startTime":122.66,"endTime":126.22,"body":"people. Your thoughts and the way you talk and the way you act, it"},{"startTime":126.22,"endTime":129.98,"body":"affects the other people around you. I mean, the"},{"startTime":129.98,"endTime":133.82,"body":"simple question is, how are we all going to be happy if we"},{"startTime":133.82,"endTime":137.58,"body":"only focus on our own happiness? How are we all going"},{"startTime":137.58,"endTime":141.36,"body":"to feel served if we don't serve anybody? How are we"},{"startTime":141.36,"endTime":144.68,"body":"going to feel complimented if we don't compliment anyone?"},{"startTime":145.0,"endTime":148.76,"body":"How are we going to feel recognized if we don't recognize"},{"startTime":148.76,"endTime":152.44,"body":"anybody? He gathered 12 disciples around him, 12"},{"startTime":168.12,"endTime":171.88,"body":"men that were intelligent, that had"},{"startTime":171.88,"endTime":175.48,"body":"backgrounds, that were. That were grown adults. And"},{"startTime":175.72,"endTime":179.44,"body":"they followed him everywhere that he went. And what did he do? He got on"},{"startTime":179.44,"endTime":181.96,"body":"his hands and his knees and he washed their feet."},{"startTime":182.76,"endTime":185.88,"body":"Jesus, the son of God, served"},{"startTime":186.36,"endTime":190.0,"body":"man. So I know exactly what it"},{"startTime":190.0,"endTime":193.76,"body":"feels like. To feel like you have not been recognized in a"},{"startTime":193.76,"endTime":197.42,"body":"long time time. To feel like you have not been affirmed"},{"startTime":197.42,"endTime":201.26,"body":"in a long time. To feel like every time you walk in your house,"},{"startTime":201.26,"endTime":204.94,"body":"you are the only one who's taking care of the house. To feel like"},{"startTime":204.94,"endTime":208.58,"body":"in your marriage, you are the only one giving the compliments. You're"},{"startTime":208.58,"endTime":212.06,"body":"the only one complimenting your children or"},{"startTime":212.06,"endTime":215.58,"body":"picking up the work at work. You're the only one"},{"startTime":215.82,"endTime":219.58,"body":"who's doing all of the work without ever getting recognized. I know"},{"startTime":219.66,"endTime":223.17,"body":"exactly what that feels like. But let me"},{"startTime":223.17,"endTime":226.97,"body":"remind you that Proverbs says humility is the fear"},{"startTime":226.97,"endTime":230.81,"body":"of the Lord and its wages, meaning what you get"},{"startTime":230.81,"endTime":234.57,"body":"from humility are riches and honor and life."},{"startTime":235.13,"endTime":238.73,"body":"There's a magic to humility. If you just"},{"startTime":238.73,"endTime":242.25,"body":"remain humble and you first give that recognition,"},{"startTime":242.73,"endTime":246.53,"body":"then trust me, someone is going to recognize you. So just some practical steps for you today."},{"startTime":269.6,"endTime":273.36,"body":"Here's how you can be humble. Number one, compliment the people around"},{"startTime":273.36,"endTime":276.93,"body":"you. Tell your friend you are so good at."},{"startTime":278.13,"endTime":281.97,"body":"You have the gift of. You are so beautiful. When"},{"startTime":283.25,"endTime":286.85,"body":"just a reminder, complimenting others does not take anything away from you."},{"startTime":287.17,"endTime":290.77,"body":"The second thing you can do is serve the people around you. Do you want me to fold the clothes for you?"},{"startTime":296.25,"endTime":300.01,"body":"I'll cover our dinner tonight. I'll cover the coffee today.
