And we're going to look at Romans 12","startTime":156.58,"endTime":160.38,"body":"1 2"},{"speaker":"and then we're going to jump over to 11","startTime":160.38,"endTime":164.14,"body":"12 in the"},{"speaker":"and then we're going to jump over to 11","startTime":164.14,"endTime":167.98,"body":"message Bible and it says so here's what I want you to"},{"speaker":"and then we're going to jump over to 11","startTime":167.98,"endTime":171.7,"body":"do. You know, other than the last verse, you wouldn't"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":225.24,"endTime":229.0,"body":"think that this has much to do with prayer, but let's look a"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":229.0,"endTime":232.72,"body":"little bit deeper. We live in a fast paced culture. It's all about"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":232.72,"endTime":236.32,"body":"constant stimulation from the moment we wake up to the moment"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":236.32,"endTime":240.08,"body":"we actually close our eyes. Notice how I didn't say"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":240.08,"endTime":243.6,"body":"to the moment we get in bed because unfortunately even that"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":243.6,"endTime":247.36,"body":"sacred bedtime that is meant for rest has become scrolling on the phone."},{"speaker":"11","startTime":247.66,"endTime":251.3,"body":"And I'm sure the Apostle Paul wasn't thinking about screen time when he wrote this,"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":251.3,"endTime":254.86,"body":"but the enemy has been trying to distract us from the beginning of time and"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":254.86,"endTime":258.7,"body":"this is one of the tools he's using on us now. So we've been doing"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":258.7,"endTime":262.3,"body":"coaching sessions with our staff and we learned the phrase winning our"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":262.3,"endTime":265.66,"body":"mornings. What does that look like for us now? Well,"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":266.06,"endTime":269.66,"body":"let's look back at verses 1 2. Take your everyday,"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":269.66,"endTime":272.7,"body":"ordinary life and place it before God as an offering."},{"speaker":"11","startTime":273.35,"endTime":276.79,"body":"Wake up and let the first thing you do be connecting with God"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":277.19,"endTime":280.95,"body":"before your mental checklists start. Say good morning to your father,"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":281.27,"endTime":284.55,"body":"present your day to him, and ask him for guidance and direction."},{"speaker":"11","startTime":285.03,"endTime":288.27,"body":"If you're going to grab your phone, let it be to open your Bible app"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":288.27,"endTime":292.07,"body":"and read His Word. I promise you that this morning"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":292.07,"endTime":295.83,"body":"Win will set your day up to win. Win in"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":295.83,"endTime":299.61,"body":"your thoughts, win in your actions, in your speech, and"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":299.61,"endTime":303.41,"body":"winning your testimony to others. It also opens you up to"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":303.41,"endTime":307.21,"body":"hear from God throughout your day. I love the part of the verse where it"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":307.21,"endTime":311.01,"body":"says readily recognize what he wants from you and quickly"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":311.01,"endTime":314.81,"body":"respond to it. But how do we know what he wants for our lives if"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":314.81,"endTime":318.49,"body":"we aren't taking the time to ask him and to sit and listen."},{"speaker":"11","startTime":318.97,"endTime":322.73,"body":"Being connected to God from the very beginning of the day to the"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":322.73,"endTime":326.33,"body":"very end is what will set you apart from the culture of today."},{"speaker":"11","startTime":326.69,"endTime":330.49,"body":"And that is what keeps you fueled in a flame. And yes, it"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":330.49,"endTime":334.29,"body":"won't always be easy because sometimes life happens or"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":334.69,"endTime":338.21,"body":"we let life happen to us. But verse 12 says,"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":338.37,"endTime":342.05,"body":"don't quit in hard times. Pray all the harder and you"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":342.05,"endTime":345.01,"body":"will see how God sustains you and equips you."},{"speaker":"11","startTime":345.57,"endTime":349.05,"body":"Amen. I love that you say that. What will set us"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":349.05,"endTime":352.54,"body":"apart is our connection to God and. And"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":353.42,"endTime":356.94,"body":"in such a world where we're so connected to our phones."},{"speaker":"11","startTime":357.26,"endTime":361.06,"body":"You said it. From even going to sleep, it's become a scrolling"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":361.06,"endTime":364.62,"body":"time. We don't know how to rest. We're. So"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":364.78,"endTime":368.3,"body":"you think that your mental break is your phone and other things, when in reality"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":368.78,"endTime":372.38,"body":"we would feel so much better and we would feel like we're winning"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":372.46,"endTime":376.18,"body":"in so many different areas of our life if we really just"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":376.18,"endTime":379.96,"body":"would commit. Yes. To letting ourselves be connected to"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":379.96,"endTime":383.72,"body":"God and let that be our all from the moment we wake up"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":383.88,"endTime":387.4,"body":"to the moment we go to sleep. And even in that time,"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":387.4,"endTime":391.04,"body":"throughout the day, being intentional about just saying a quick"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":391.04,"endTime":394.68,"body":"prayer, a quick word. And I. I love that you're talking"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":394.68,"endTime":398.2,"body":"about this because you and John are the example of this"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":398.36,"endTime":401.64,"body":"for all our listeners. I want you guys to know that"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":402.6,"endTime":406.32,"body":"every single time John and Jackie pray, it's like heaven has a direct line"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":406.32,"endTime":410.12,"body":"to John and Jackie. And so I want you guys to hear these"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":410.12,"endTime":413.56,"body":"devos for the rest of the week and really apply them because"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":413.72,"endTime":417.48,"body":"Miss Jackie is coming from a place of not just knowledge, but of"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":417.48,"endTime":421.2,"body":"years of doing. And Lord, we"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":483.68,"endTime":487.3,"body":"thank you because when we offer ourselves"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":487.3,"endTime":490.86,"body":"up like that, you in turn reward us with"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":490.86,"endTime":494.54,"body":"your goodness and your faithfulness and your joy and"},{"speaker":"11","startTime":494.54,"endTime":498.02,"body":"your peace that takes us throughout the day.
