As a cancer survivor and thriver, I know how important community and support are when you are facing a cancer diagnosis. That’s why I created The Many Faces of Cancer Podcast.
Each week I will be interviewing amazing people with heartfelt and inspirational stories from all sides of the cancer journey: patients, survivors and thrivers, caregivers, family and friends, and professionals. I may even throw in a bonus episode once in a while talking about things that are important to us all.
We never think it will happen to us, until it does. This podcast will be about community, knowing you’re not alone in your journey. It will also be an opportunity for people to share their stories and hopefully help others.
I hope you will all tune in. While it will be cancer stories, we all learn from others and, ultimately, these are human stories, applicable to many other areas of life.

From Travel Frustration to an Insurance Solution with Fiona Macrae

Today's guest is Fiona Macrae, first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and metastatic breast cancer in 2020. She is continuing to thrive over 5 years later with regular treatments.
During her initial treatment, Fiona struggled to find travel insurance due to her diagnosis. She launched Insurancewith in 2011, an insurance brand with the aim of providing everyone with a medical condition with a fair and affordable travel insurance policy to cover their upcoming vacations. Insurancewith also supports charities that support their customers, donating over 250,000 pounds to charity over the years.
We talk about diagnosis as a new mom, the impact of secondary cancer so long after initial primary diagnosis, the challenges of travel in the UK after a cancer diagnosis, working to change the medical questionnaire needed to get travel insurance, the difference between travel risk and lifetime risk, and so much more!!!
