Carrie Lingenfelter:

Sometimes life does get hard and if you feel like it's the right thing for you, you continue to try to put the energy toward it.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

But sometimes there's also the shift in energy in the house where I've realized like my kids are going through sensitive periods. They're going through growth spurts right now and their bodies are changing quickly and they're really learning a lot in school right now. So they have a lot of demands on their bodies and they need mom to provide more help, support, energetic support, healings, guided meditations, taking more time for me to put my stuff down and connect with them and just play and let them be a kid. So that's a phase that we're going through right now. And in your minds you might be thinking maybe I want to be a kid. So that's a phase that we're going through right now. And in your minds you might be thinking maybe I want to be an entrepreneur, maybe I want to have my own business. How am I energetically supposed to slow everything down? But I'm here to say it's a phase. Right, it's most of the time. It's something that our kids are growing through and I'm naming it a growth spurt right now because I know that this has happened before in our house and it's something that our kids are growing through and I'm naming it a growth spurt right now because I know that this has happened before in our house and it's going to change and get better and then I can readjust and realign and figure out again, restructure what we, what I, have energy to give. Hi, conscious Parents, it's Keri here and I am here with a little info about raising our mindful kids. I've got some tips and tricks about breaking free of the box and becoming who you are and teaching your kids how to do that along the way. Join us Hi there and welcome back. It's Keri, your friendly, intuitive mama here, and I am so excited to be here today for another little bonus quick tip session.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

And I wanted to talk to you guys today about monitoring our energy levels as a parent. I think we've talked about this a little bit before and when. We've touched on self-care and some of those pieces, but it's been something that my husband and I have been trying to monitor in ourselves, where we're having a depleted weekend and we just say drop everything. We're not going to double batch our meal prep. This Saturday we are going out to Flower Child, we are going to live it up and we are going to get the extra special lemon olive oil muffin this weekend because we need a little love. So, yes, one of our main things that my husband and I love to do to try to help ourselves is on Saturdays and Sundays, we double batch cook, so we'll have a meal for that day and then we'll have a leftover meal for during the week. That will reheat and that kind of saves us a little energy.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

But if we're having a busy weekend and we have our kids having a lot of emotions, there's a lot of big feelings and a lot of big energy. That's been happening in our household lately. I don't know about you guys, but I think there's been a little bit of energy shift lately, and so it's really important as a parent that we monitor where we're at with our energy levels. It's been really interesting for my husband and I. We have and I hope he's okay with me talking about these pieces but we have just gone in parallel with some of the energy shifts that happen in our lives. It'll be a point in my life where I was looking to start. The podcast was also in a really similar timing at a point in my husband's life where he was looking at starting some new projects at work and it really took a lot of self-reflection and intuitive connection for ourselves to tune in and figure out what we were really seeking in those moments. So I really encourage you to think about that in your relationship.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

Is there anything that could be going on now? Maybe you've shifted through something at the end of the year energy Maybe you're shifting into something. Maybe you are in a good coasting period in your life, which is also awesome as well, when you can coast along and everything's in the right flow state for you. So right now in our house, we're in this moment where we can feel like we made some big changes last spring and energy is just flowing. Right now we're readdressing and reassessing what really matters in our lives. We have had some challenges that have come up here and there with our kids where we have to energy shift. We have to dive into, maybe, therapy We've maxed out what therapists can do with our kids and we have to look at some energy work Me as myself, I think about that in.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

Maybe I have to slow down with my podcasting. Maybe I have to. Maybe I don't have the energy to start the five different projects that I was looking at creating in the podcasting world, and maybe my husband needs to have a little bit more energy for his work and so he might not be emotionally available as much to help with the kids. So, thinking about how this balance and I talk about it energetically because it's so common in our house, with four highly sensitive people, it's really common that if somebody's off skew in their energy, we all feel it and we all pick it up. Whether or not we want to, it's just that energy and that vibe that really circulates in the house. So if somebody is in a bad mood and they're grumpy and we'll be like whoa, you're snapping at me, what's going on? What's up? How can I help support you when that person that is snapping may not even notice that it's going on because they're in a mood right, things are shifting, big feelings are happening, and so it's really important for us to tune in and see where we're at energetically.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

I have a prayer affirmation that I've been thinking about. It goes. Thank you so much, universe, for helping to guide me along in my path and showing me where and when to make changes to better myself. This is really important when we are expressing gratitude for the challenges that are arising. Think about how we're changing our attitude, our energy, our emotions and shifting to being grateful for these moments of change. I love the idea of we think that we need a change. We think I need some new energy. I need some new energy. I need some changes. I need to shift my podcast or shift my work journey, but there doesn't feel like there's anything available right now. So maybe it's not the time to shift. Maybe it's the time to slow down, connect recharge, connect recharge and then tune into our bodies.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

Does it feel for me when I know that something is right and I know that it's something that is the right path for me? It feels like home when I think about it. So, for instance, when I was looking at starting Heart to Heart Parents, I knew that it I didn't. Honestly, that wasn't my ultimate goal originally and then, as I started doing it, I was like this feels really good. I'm meeting really amazing people. People are coming up to me and telling me they love the show and it really resonates with them and they feel seen and heard and valued. And I also did not feel alone as much in my parenting experience. Like whoa, other people have kids that have meltdowns too. Other people have big feelings. Kids too, twice, exceptional kids. I'm not alone. I'm not the only person going through this behind closed doors, so it was really interesting.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

When we can find what's the right path for us, it's presented to us, it feels, it resonates in our whole body. It doesn't feel like you're trying to swim upstream, it doesn't feel like you need to keep making changes. Sometimes life does get hard and if you feel like it's the right thing for you, you continue to try to put the energy toward it. So that's a phase that we're going through right now and in your minds you might be thinking maybe I want to be an entrepreneur, maybe I want to have my own business. How am I energetically supposed to slow everything down? But I'm here to say it's a phase, right, it's most of the time. It's something that our kids are growing through and I'm naming it a growth spurt right now Because I know that this has happened before in our house and it's going to change and get better and then I can readjust and realign and figure out again, restructure what we, what I, have energy to give. So it was really cool.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

My husband and I sat down and we looked at what are the struggles we're facing right now for each of us, what are the struggles our kids are facing? What is really? What is the strength that everybody's showing right now? What? How does everybody need more support? What is this? Is this a phase? Is this?

Carrie Lingenfelter:

And we assessed it all. And then we assessed heart-to-heart parents, which is a part of our family. We assess my husband and his work journey. We assess our kids in their school journey and their friendship journeys, the things and the pieces that matter to them, and then we just look at the ebb and flow of where we need to put energy, where we need to pull energy, and it was so amazing to work with my husband in this way and say here's where we need to focus our energy, here's where Carrie could cut back, here's where Carrie could give more. And my husband he has his ultimatums right.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

I've mentioned this before. But when he comes home and if there's dishes all over the sink because I was podcasting all day and I didn't have time to get to it that's really hard for his system to walk into at 530 in the afternoon. So you guys can list your end game, your things that need to get done, that are really important to your system, to keep that energy for yourself too. That has been so amazing. So I encourage you to try this prayer out and don't forget your guided meditations for yourself and for your kids.

Carrie Lingenfelter:
