Carrie Lingenfelter:

You were born perfect. You were born this best version of yourselves. You're amazing. And I look back and I'm like I remember that feeling of insecurity. So what can we do for our kids, to empower them? What do we do to lift them up? We can do a daily dose of guided meditation. I'm going to take you guys on one that I've been doing with both of my kiddos lately and it's one of my favorites. So we're going to take you guys on one that I've been doing with both of my kiddos lately and it's one of my favorites. So we're going to try that one. I'd love for you to try it with your kids and then also do it for yourselves, guys, because as you are continuing to grow, heal, learn, change, face challenges. As a parent, it's always going to be something different, right as soon as you get the baby toddler era down. Oh, now they're in preschool era. Oh, now they're in elementary era. And it just continues to be different phases of challenges.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

Hi Conscious Parents. It's Keri here and I am here with a little info about raising our mindful kids. I've got some tips and tricks about breaking free of the box and becoming who you are and teaching your kids how to do that. Along the way, Join us.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

Hi there and welcome back. It's Keri, your friendly mama intuitive, here, and I'm so excited to have you today. I've been doing a lot of self-learning in the spiritual realm and so it's really fun to connect with you guys today. I wanted to share a little bit about what I have been feeling and learning and hearing that we need to share today. That includes thinking about your mama journey, your motherhood rising era, as we connect with ourselves and as we spiritually grow as parents and mothers.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

It's so important that we continue on our journey. It's so important that we don't stay stagnant in our development, stagnant in where we're at as a parent. Wow, this past week I was talking to my almost 10 year old and he's really in a zone where things are starting to get harder in third grade and because he is a GNT kid or gifted kiddo, he's not used to having to learn something new and third grade has brought about a little bit of challenges. So when we see some challenges or things that do not come easy, it can be hard to say, or it can be easy to say I'm checking out, this is super hard. Or it can be really easy to not believe in ourselves anymore. Think about when you first became a parent? Did you know everything? Did you know everything to do right away? Were you like I can walk into this and know exactly how to handle this child? Of course not. Even if it's your third or fourth baby, it's still going to be a different scenario, right? Even this mom right here that was a early childhood development specialist, a former teacher. I thought I knew everything, but what we need to learn is how we can maintain our empowered selves while also learning, growing, healing and connecting with ourselves. That's why I turned the phrase for this year light me up, because I wanted to heal, grow, learn and challenge myself in new ways.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

So when we're looking at our kiddos, I can now see why my mom was always like Carrie, you're amazing, you're beautiful, you're smart, you're fun, you're sweet, you're kind, you're a best friend to everyone. And I was like, oh, mom, yeah, you're saying that because you're amazing, you're beautiful, you're smart, you're fun, you're sweet, you're kind, you're a best friend to everyone. And I was like, oh, mom, yeah, you're saying that because you're my mom. Now I see that in my kiddo, when my kiddo was like, oh, I don't like such and such about myself. Or oh, I'm not as maybe I'm not as smart or as cool as I thought I was. I'm like what are you talking about? You were born perfect. You were born this best version of yourselves. You're amazing. And I look back and I'm like, oh, I remember that feeling of insecurity.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

So what can we do for our kids, to empower them? What do we do to lift them up? We can do a daily dose of guided meditation. I'm going to take you guys on one that I've been doing with both of my kiddos lately and it's one of my favorites. Oh, now they're in elementary era, and it just continues to be different phases of challenges.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

So let's try this guided meditation today. We're going to close our hands. We're going to sit up, close our hands, we're going to close our eyes. You can close your hands if you want. Sit up, put your feet on the ground, take deep breaths in. You can feel the seat of your chair underneath you, you can feel your feet placed on the floor. You can feel the weight of your eyelids being closed. You can feel your shoulders release any attention and we picture a green ball of light at the top of our legs that goes straight down into the earth. We picture breathing out all of our negative energy, all of our negative emotions, any big feelings we had throughout the day, any weird looks people have given us, straight down into that green tube, straight down in the earth. And we picture a green ball of energy that comes up the earth. She is loving our earth, she is giving us this energy. It comes up with this ball and it stops right in front of our chest and we feel this golden energy come down from the sun. It stops in front of us and it mixes with that green ball and then it comes straight into our stomach and it fills every single cell in our body with happiness, gratitude, the true effervescence of who you are. We feel another green ball come up the tube and it stops in front of our chest. Golden light comes down and it mixes with the green ball of energy and it goes straight into our stomach, fills our body with loving kindness. I love you, child, for who you are. I love myself for who I am. The ups and downs, the turntable, the turmoil, everything. I love you. I see you, child, for who you are. Another green ball of light the final one, comes up and it stops in front of your chest. The golden light from the sun comes down and it mixes, and then that goes into your stomach and it fills you with happiness and excitement for the journey that is yet to come, excitement for the journey that is yet to come. Now we breathe in one more final golden breath and we release and so it is. We tip our head to release any extra energy.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

I want you to think about this parent. We are on this path. We are our kids' training wheels. We are not the path layer. We are not laying the bricks on our child's path. Sometimes a child's path will be gray. Sometimes a child's path will turn to purple, orange, blue. That's why I never choose my favorite color, because it's always changing in whatever era I'm developing in. And so I want you to think about yourself as these training wheels along this path. You are not going to be the brick layer. You are going to be the training wheels that's helping your child, for when they fall over, you pick them back up. You can help to guide them when they have certain scenarios right, for instance, if my son was having a kiddo.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

This is not a true story. I'm telling a story of somebody else that I a friend that I helped you have your child has a friend who always comes to school and is very draining in their problems. Maybe their parents are going through something and they're sharing it with their kiddo and the kid's taking it on. Of course I share some pieces with the family like oh so, and so they mentioned this, such and such. How have you guys been? Things like that? That's sometimes we check in with parents too. Right For sure.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

But I also am going to teach my kids some protective tools. One of those can be the white light that surrounds us from the head all the way to the feet. Golden light surrounds us from the head all the way to the feet. Golden light surrounds us from the head all the way to the feet. Recently I was talking to a friend and she shared the slippy slide for energy. So she said you picture a slide and when somebody puts their energy on you. It goes right off the slide, and I've been talking to my kids about that one. It's really fun. Break it down, make it for our kids. It is not your kid's responsibility to make this.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

But if I go in it with the attitude of how dare somebody drop all this energy on you? I'm going to empower you, I'm going to change you. How is your kid going to respond to that? This is their best friend, maybe. So maybe we could try something like ooh, that sounds intense. How'd you feel with that? That? Yeah, okay, and you give your kids some tools and you talk them through. I think in that situation, oh, my heart would feel really, really heavy with all that intense feelings.

Carrie Lingenfelter:

Maybe next time I might think about using my slippy slide to let those emotions go off of me where I'm not absorbing them. It's okay to bring out those training wheels, right? We're not laying those bricks, we're not controlling that friendship. I tried that once. My kiddo went to school and told the friend my mom said I can't be friends with you anymore. So that didn't go over. Well, guys, take it from my stories, right?

Carrie Lingenfelter:

So some tools to think about this week is you are the training wheels. You are along this path. You are guiding at some points. You are along this path. You are guiding at some points. You are facilitating at some points, but you are not the bricklayer and you are not controlling the color of their path. Right, they've already chosen that. That's already been decided in their own intentions. Right, you are there to help them along the way. Peace out, changemakers. Well, that's a wrap. Thanks so much for tuning in. Changemakers.
