Can You Sustain The Life You Are Living Now?

Tim Owen

This thought-provoking message challenges listeners to evaluate whether their way of life is truly sustainable. It explores four different mindsets—those thriving at the top, those growing restless with success, those still grinding to achieve it, and those aimlessly drifting through life. Through biblical wisdom, it reveals that true sustainability isn’t just about maintaining success but about living a fulfilled and purposeful life in Christ. The message encourages self-reflection, faith, and a fresh start, reminding us that God has already provided the blueprint for a life that thrives now and for eternity.

IS YOUR WAY OF LIFE SUSTAINABLE?

How satisfied are you with the way you're living?

Some people are at the top of their game—making money, looking good, enjoying luxury, and having the time to soak it all in. When everything is going right, life can feel like a nonstop celebration.

Then there’s another group who have been living this way for so long that they’re starting to feel restless, asking, "Is this it?" Success without purpose can get old fast.

A third group is still grinding—paying the price for wealth, health, and comfort. They’re in the thick of it, chasing the dream, feeling the weight of the hustle.

And then there’s a fourth group just floating through life—no goals, no direction, no real care for where they’re headed. Just existing.

So, where do you fit? More importantly, is the way you’re living sustainable? Can you keep up the workouts? Maintain the relationship? Continue the habits you've built? Keep pushing at this pace without burning out?

The Apostle Paul said it plainly:

"You are not ruled by your sinful selves. You are ruled by the Spirit, if that Spirit of God really lives in you. But the person who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Christ." (Romans 8:9 NCV)

"If you use your lives to do the wrong things your sinful selves want, you will die spiritually. But if you use the Spirit’s help to stop doing the wrong things you do with your body, you will have true life." (Romans 8:13 NCV)

The Bible doesn’t just talk about spiritual life—it speaks on everything: mental health, wealth, relationships, marriage, physical health, business, investing, parenting, faith, worship, and eternity. And that’s just scratching the surface.

I believe most people are searching for a life that is sustainable. The problem? If you’re heading in the wrong direction, you’re wasting valuable time trying to figure it out.

The truth is—God has already given us the blueprint. Our Creator has shown us how to live a full, meaningful life. His wisdom is 100% dependable, and His counsel is pure truth. This isn’t just about sustainability—it’s about thriving, now and forever.

A life led by Christ isn’t just fulfilling—it’s eternal. It’s a fresh perspective now and the most incredible transition you’ll ever experience after this life. That’s a win/win deal.

So what’s your next move? Maybe it’s time to stop, draw a line, write the word start, and begin a new life for the rest of your life. Because finishing well isn’t just about the here and now—it’s about a reward that never ends.

LORD, help us live a life that’s truly sustainable. You are life. You are love. You are our sustenance. Asking Christ to be our Lord and Savior every day is the most exciting, fulfilling life we could ever imagine. Help us to believe it, trust it, and live it.

IJNIP, Amen. ❤️
