God desires to do so much in our lives, but often we remain limited by comfort, familiarity, and complacency. This episode is a call to shift your perspective: to see dissatisfaction not as something to escape, but as something to steward. A divine invitation to want more, desire more, and pursue more of what God is leading you into.

Hi, and welcome back to another episode. This is the Bloomers Journal, and I'm your host, Nondo Hate. We are back and back. Thank you so much for joining us again. I'm so excited for this next season. With every new chapter comes new insight, new learnings, new blessings. So I'm really looking forward to it. Um, if it's your first time joining us, welcome. If you have been with us before, thanks again for coming around the block. As you can tell from the title, today we are talking about dissatisfaction and how much it can be a blessing. Wherever you are in life, I can assure you there is more, and we need to know this, we need to believe this, we need to trust God for this, we need to ask God for this to desire, to want, to hunger. And I'm not talking about discontentment with your life. You need to see and recognize the beauty of your life as it is right now, this very moment, but I'm also telling you there's more, and you need to want it. Let's get right into it. Just to lay the foundation on this one, I want us to take a moment to appreciate the present. In all our thriving and ambition, we mustn't lose sight of the blessing of our present life and this present moment. And we mustn't just turn to the big milestones, the achievements. You are alive right now, and we thank God for that. Your life is a miracle and a wonder. And I hope you never lose sight of that there are people who have not made it to this very day. Yet here we are. Here I am with an able body and a sound mind. I get to wake up and pursue my dreams. I still have the capacity to dream. I have a life in Christ. I'm known by God and He loves me. I get to do life with Him, my friends, community, peace of mind, the list is endless. If we are able to see, so your hunger for more is in fact not on an empty stomach. The Bible tells us, blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. We also know that righteousness is credited unto us, yet Jesus still calls it a blessing to hunger and thirst for it. So there's no actual place of arrival. The sense of arrival is often what breeds complacency, getting to a point or a place of comfort. One of my favorite people in scripture is the apostle Paul. In the book of Philippians, he shows this in such a beautiful way, and there's something very important for us to pick up. In Philippians chapter 3, verse 10, he says, I want to know Christ. In another version, it says, I continually long to know the wonders of Jesus and to experience the overflowing power of his resurrection working in me. Now, this is someone who knew Jesus, yet wants to know him. This is someone who experienced his power, yet wants to experience it. Right? Paul encountered Jesus personally, he performed miracles, he planted churches, he was a great leader, he was an influential person in the community, he was trusted, a great source of wisdom. Paul is many things, yet he wants to know. It's a simple yet so powerful want, desire. I want to read uh further down in this same chapter, uh verse twelve, what Paul says here. He says, Um, I admit that I haven't yet acquired the absolute fullness that I'm pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me his own. I don't depend on my own strength to accomplish this. However, I do have one compelling focus. I forget all the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. Another version says, and I love reading scripture in different versions, right? So I can get a full understanding of what the word is actually saying. It says, not that I have already obtained all this or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken a hold of it, but one thing I do, forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal. I press on. Right. Can we press on? I want to encourage you, especially in the things of God, that as you see him, you may want to see more. As you know him, you may want to know more. As you grow in depth and intimacy, that you may want it even more. There's no end to God and his glory. And so, for as long as we are asking him for more, there will be more to give. And the beautiful thing about God is that we don't even have to fake a craving we don't have. We can ask him to create this desire in us for these things. You don't want to grow complacent because of comfort. We want to manage this tension of contentment with our lives and dissatisfaction. Love your life, have a high propensity for gratitude, but also recognize that there is more. There is more. If you're listening to this, I'm praying you may be restless in your pursuit of more. I pray he'd wake you up early in the morning seeking more, that it will keep you up late at night. I pray he completely disrupts your life. I want to give you three different um promises or blessings that we have been given that are just coming to mind as we're talking about this. The first is found in Deuteronomy, and this is where the Lord says that it says, For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills, a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey, a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing, a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills. My question for you is are you digging copper out of the hills? Hey, are you digging copper out of the hills? Yes or no? And um I don't want to make it too material. If we turn to the book of Ephesians, um we know that it says here, praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. My question is, okay, do we know what these spiritual blessings are in Christ? Do we know them? Are we living in them, right? How have they manifested in our lives? We mustn't take these things lightly at all. When the Bible tells us that we have been blessed, right, with every spiritual blessing in Christ, we need to take every word here with absolute weight, right? We do not want to miss out on the blessings because we do not know about them. But the scripture reveals all of these things to us, and so we need a question, we need to ask, we need to dig in for what is actually being spoken about here that belongs to me, it has been given to me. So I need to understand what this blessing is, and then um just the part where Jesus is telling us that um, you know, he came onto this earth and he did such incredible things, and he says to us, You will do these things and more. Number one, you will do these things, right? Number two, you will do even more. The Lord needs to help us to believe that there's the more, right? There are things we are comfortable with reaching for, with striving for, with desiring for, right? But there are these as well where Jesus is saying to you, you will do all these incredible things and more. We've come to the end of today's episode. Thanks again for coming back and listening in.
