LeBron's reign in jeopardy? That's the burning question as we dissect the nail-biting NBA playoffs where underdogs and heavyweights clash on the court. From Cleveland's unexpected stumble against Orlando to Philadelphia schooling New York, we don't pull punches discussing the highs and lows, including Denver's potential sweep over the Lakers. Coach Darwin Ham's strategy and LeBron's performance are under the microscope, and we're stirring the pot about Malik Monk's overlooked season despite Sixth Man of the Year snub talks. The MVP debate is a full-court press, with opinions flying on Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokić, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's rightful claim to the throne.

Switching fields to the NFL draft, we're all over the Chiefs' touchdown with Xavier Worthy and how this playmaker could redefine their offense. We tackle the intriguing draft picks, breaking down Caleb Williams' bearish move to Chicago and Marvin Harrison Jr. flying with the Cardinals, not to mention JJ McCarthy's Viking voyage. And don't miss the "Flag on the Play" segment where we sprint into the philosophy that while you can't coach speed, you can certainly coach catching. It's a blend of raw talent and skill development, and we're debating if 4-2 speed is the ultimate game-changer. Join us as we go beyond the scores and stats, and let's ignite a conversation about the true pace-setters of the game.

Speaker 1:

Welcome back to another late night edition of the same man sports talk show, bringing you our latest segment, titled flag on the plate. Yes, lord, yes, lord. Over here we know there's all opinionated answers, no right or wrong, no right or wrong verdict. We just put our minds together, throw topics out there, and we put our minds together and come up with debates and scenarios, right. So, like I do for each and every episode, I want to reach out to everybody that's out there new listeners, new supporters and just hope that everyone's blessed out there. Hope everybody out there is staying safe, staying aware, enjoying the sporting atmosphere that's going on. Rather than be the NBA playoffs, we just got a magnificent college run men and women's NBA playoff time Draft draft, nfl draft began today, along with a plethora of other things and news to dive into. So stay focused out there. Obviously, today, um, we have some things going on. Right now it'll probably be best to jump to the nba. So, um, first and foremost, um, get on our youtube, subscribe, comment, share, you know, pass the word along to a friend. Bottom Line Sports Network or Same man Sports Talk Show, excuse me. On the IG, same man Sports Talk, get in the comments and the DM. Let us know, man, you know what you feeling about the NBA right now. We know, coming in tonightveland went down to orlando, lost big 121, 83. Philly handled business against new york 11 point victory. Denver, as I can see, is up 101 to 89 on the lakers right now, looking like it's going to be a 3-0 sweep running into 11 straight losses against the Denver Nuggets. It's kind of a messed up situation, kind of sticky.

Speaker 1:

But if you ask me, a lot of people have been saying stuff. I've been hearing the narrative about Darwin Ham. He ain't enough, he ain't this, he ain't that. Okay, let's realistically slow it down. The only team he struggled with or lost to, literally is the NBA champs defending NBA champs. They do what they do. Lebron and them ain't got enough. I went out on a limb and said I thought the Lakers would win. This is seven, just because I don't want to see the end of LeBron's road, but it's 3-0. They are in LA getting that wig popped off. As it looks they about to go down 3-0.

Speaker 1:

Philly got a big win tonight and B went for 50. Whoa, sheesh. Okay, thunder rolling they up 2-0. We know the heat, even with the Celtics. That's awkward and odd. How the hell did Malik Monk not win six men of the year? Got to dive into that.

Speaker 1:

You lead your team in every statistical category, which is an upgrade from last year, and you don't win the award. To me that's disturbing. Shout out to you, malik, keep grinding. Who's the MVP? Asked that on our previous episode between Luka, joker and Shea, my personal pick was Shea. Love what Luka's doing. Know they're going to give it to Joker, but Shea don't have a Kyrie. Shea don't have a God damn it Jamal Murray. So, with that being said, nba is NBA-ing right now. The draft we want to hop into that.

Speaker 1:

Today was the actual first day of picks. Let me know what your team did. Your team make a splash. You pissed off about your team's draft today. I'm a chief fanatic, so you know. We got Xavier Worthy just found that news out, so that's big for us. That's another speedster, aligned with Patrick Mahomes. So I mean him and Rice on the edge. Plus, we got Travis Kelsey coming back. Man, they Hopefully they can spend some money On the free agent or something and bring somebody in there Like a true number one. I like what Rice is doing, kelsey coming back. Should we defend the Super Bowl champs. Let's defend it Alright. So Just gonna go through a list Of the first, the first Picks of today's draft.

Speaker 1:

We know Caleb Williams went first Um to the Chicago Bears. What's y'all feelings about that? For me Caleb is a special player. There's no denying it. If you hate on him, you hate on him. Took a couple losses at USC. That was tough, but it's like, at the end of the day he is what he is. Ain't no way in hell you can hate on him. I think that's a strong pick for them. I think it'll be only upward for them. Give them a couple years. They already got some weapons on the offensive side of the ball, so it'll be interesting to see what they do moving forward.

Speaker 1:

We know that the number two pick was the Washington Commanders. I always mess their name up. I want to call them the Redskins. Still, they went with Jay and Daniels. Pick three the Patriots went with Drake May. We know the Cardinals Ooh, they won out their body with this and got Marvin Harrison Jr. We know the Chargers went with an offensive lineman. Malik Nabors from LSU went to the Giants. That's big for them. Tennessee went O-lineman uh. Michael Penix Jr. Next pick uh went to the Atlanta Falcons, that's big. Wide receiver Anduzier from Washington went to the Chicago Bears. The pair up with Caleb Williams, we know that's gonna be dynamic. Get him a couple years.

Speaker 1:

Shout out my boy, jj McCarthy out ofarthy, out of michigan um, he went to the vikings. They lost kirk cousins. What got rid of him? Um, that may have been a good move. Jets went o-line. Um, bo nicks went to the broncos. Brock bowers goes to the raiders. We know the saints go offensive line. Edge rusher for the colts out of ucla, as at latou, um, latou. Brandon Murphy, the second the tackle goes to tech, out of Texas goes to Seattle. Then the Vikings double back with D Turner as an edge rusher at Abama. We know he's a game changer, that's a big time pick. Bengals go offensive line and get the big fella out of Georgia.

Speaker 1:

Um, moving on, we got the Rams coming back with the edge rusher from Florida State. Pittsburgh goes offensive line. Edge rusher for the Dolphins. Cornerback out of Toledo. Mitchell, he's special, he's special, that's a steal. 23rd pick from Jacksonville. Thomas from LSU, you got Arnold out of Alabama. Big time playmaker goes to Detroit. They got nothing but playmakers. I just told somebody yesterday Alabama's starting to look like a pipeline for the Detroit Lions. Look at the playmakers they got over there and then tell me what school they came from, all right, and if not Alabama, it's SEC bound in general and shout out to them boys, you hear me, super Bowl champ, two-time defender, you hear me, we got three. Yes, lord, but that ain't about this, all right.

Speaker 1:

Green Bay went offensive lineman with their pick, as well as Tampa Bay, following the Cardinals, came back with an edge rusher, savior worthy. Shout out to my dogs, the Chiefs, we got him. Xavier Worthy Shout out to my dogs, the Chiefs, we got him. I don't know how or why the Bills Would trade that pick. That was dumb. You lost Stephon Diggs and, I believe, others. I thought they were Going to get that pick and use it for him.

Speaker 1:

On the speed side, just, you know A target, a speedy guy, kind of reliable guy, I guess. Young, young guy, but reliable for the most part in blazing speed for Josh Allen. But we'll take him. Yes, lord, cowboys went offensive lineman out of Oklahoma. Ravens went with Wiggins exceptional cornerback out of Clemson, that's a steal. 49ers go wide receiver. Then you got the panthers they get leggett receiver out of south carolina. That, what I just read off, pretty much wraps up the first day. Um, like I said, I'm a chief fanatic. I feel like Xavier worthy is a big time pick for us.

Speaker 1:

Um, I like the Bengals addressing the line. I like what the dolphins did. I love what the. I like the. The uh. Detroit lions I'm sorry, I like their pig. Um, everybody seemed like they getting busy and trying to address what's to be addressed. Pittsburgh I like the move they made. Even the Colts with the edge rusher, brock Bowers, I'm loving him. Going to Oakland I mean not Oakland, I'm sorry. Las Vegas. Now, that's fitting. Bo Nix. Shout out to him he made it, you made it. Yes, lord JJ McCarthy, michigan it. Yes, lord jj mccarthy, michigan I'm a diehard michigan fan, so of course I'm loving that. Kirk cousin just got moved on, so he'll probably be in a role immediately. I like caleb williams. I like pennix jr.

Speaker 1:

I like the draft so far. Um, like I said, get on the youtube or the instagram same man sports talk show on the ig bottom line sports network for the youtube or same man sports talk show. Let me know your thoughts. Opinions on day one of the draft. Did your team smoke it? Did you feel like your team upgraded? What's surprising. What surprised you? Like I said, for me the dumbest thing so far was the Buffalo Bills giving up. They picked, they smoked Xavier Worthy.

Speaker 1:

That's 4-2 speed. I don't give a damn how he can catch the ball or can't catch the ball. That type of speed with the right quarterback we'll teach that motherfucker how to catch hands. We got to grow hands. You lose hands whatever. You know what I'm saying. But we'll take him. Yes, lord, y'all, let me know what y'all think. Get in the comments DMs man, check in Until next, live from the Safe man Sports Talk Show with our latest segment, title Flag on the Play. Y'all stay safe out there. Stay blessed, quit sleeping on me. Stay tapped in. Yes, lord, we'll be right back. We'll see you next time.
