Psychedelics in Therapy: MDMA, Psilocybin & Ketamine with Pam Singer, PsyD

Molly

Welcome back to I'm Glad You're Here! This week's episode is a comprehensive rundown of MDMA, Psilocybin, and Ketamine and its role in therapy. This conversation around psychedelic-assisted therapy includes the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client and the particular training that therapists are undergoing to be prepared to work in this way.  We discuss which psychedelics have been proven to be highly effective among certain populations, the contraindications for taking psychedelics,  and how each psychedelic works on a physiological and emotional level.

To have a thoughtful conversation, I am joined by Pam Singer, a clinical psychologist who graduated from IPI's Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Certification. Pam has undergone over a year of training to be able to speak to this new approach to therapy and has been working with clients individually for years before exploring psychedelic work.

*At the time of recording, Ketamine is the only legal 'psychedelic' available for therapeutic work throughout the U.S.

I encourage exploring resources such as MAPS.org that has published research and funding to support the growth in this field.
