Hello, welcome to The Mr. Gordo. I am Britt and I am Sarah. And we are here with Triangle. Triangle. It's a triangle. I think it's a triangle. Triangle.
SPEAKER_03I like this episode. I've said this before. It's one of my repeat episodes. It is. It's a fun episode. It is an episode you would really like. Like I know I like the yeah, I like the humor in this episode. It's also like one of the most lighthearted towards the end of the season that you're gonna get. So um it take advantage of this episode now because I don't think there's a lot more cheesy, fun episodes after this. I don't remember. I think it's pretty much all serious or like you know plot liney for the most part. I can't remember if it's if there's another cheesy episode after this. I can't remember. I can't either. So on top of my head, at least I can't. I think this is like the last fun, fun episode. Isn't there one?
SPEAKER_01Never mind. I'll look later. But um I could be wrong. Alright. How have you been? Okay, to full disclosure, we're we're recording these in the same day.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, this one and the one before this, into the woods. Yeah, or so we're back to back here. Nothing's really changed. Um I had like a fun time getting this PR box yesterday. It was stressful, but I excitedly am getting it. Um and uh it has an advance reader copy that's signed by the author of Neurovance by Alexandra Saint Pierre. And um I love her one book, The Mort Um Mercenary and the Mortician, is like one of my favorite books. It's so good. So I'm really excited to get this new one.
SPEAKER_01It sounds very familiar. Did you lend that to us? Or did you tell me about that? Maybe you just told me.
SPEAKER_03I think I might have told you about it. It's really good. Um, but she has this new book that just released near advanced that I'm actually reading now. And she was offering a PR box with an advanced reader copy in it and some goodies, and I was like, I want to snag it so bad.
SPEAKER_02So it was a stressful of like 45 seconds of my life and it sold out within three minutes. Jesus.
SPEAKER_01Um speaking of boxes, Sarah got me for my birthday a uh 90s box and it was filled with so many cool stuff from the 90s. Oh, I love it. I'm gonna look forward to playing with my Tamagotchi. There's a Tamagotchi, and there's season four of Buffy in there.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And like a Dawson's Creek book.
SPEAKER_01Yep. And it's it's very nostalgic.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh. And a bunch of candy socks from friends. Socks from friends, yeah. And um, a bunch of like trading cards and stuff from random things and say it by the bell and all that kind of stuff. So that's so cool. It's fun in-sync photo card set.
SPEAKER_01I want to try an early 2000s as well. Yeah, that'd be fun.
SPEAKER_03You can add some Gilmore Girls into that.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03And you can still keep Buffy because Buffy went into the early 2000s.
SPEAKER_01You'll have to send me where you got that from.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was an Etsy shop, but I'll I'll I'll forward. I'm not sure if they have 2000s, but they definitely have 80s and 90s for our member. I'll have to look.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um, all right. Well, since we already like talked about everything, we can just pretty much jump right into this recap. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So we're in Xander's apartment. Um, Xander and Anya are in bed, um, being affectionate, talking softly. Um, Xander brings up the feeling that one has when they forgot something, but don't really know what they forgot. Neville gets this a lot with his memembral in Harry Potter. Yeah. Anyway, he says he's been having that feeling for a while, but he finally remembered what he forgot. And he says about three weeks ago, Riley asked him to borrow your wrench, and Xander has this nagging feeling that to let him borrow it. And Anya tells him he won't ha it won't happen unless Raleigh comes back. Xander says he forgets he's gone sometimes. How long do you think he's been gone by now? At least a few weeks, maybe a week or two. Yeah. It's gotta be like recent. Yeah, yeah. Within the last week or two. Anya gets a concerned look and tells him that if he ever plans to leave her, she wants this big flashing red lights, one of those clocks that counts down and with like a bomb. And then when the clock stops, he doesn't actually really leave. Xander agrees to use very big bomb uh bomb clock. He then assures her that he's not gonna want to uh want to go. And Anya says that's good because it would really hurt. Xander wraps her in his arms, and Anya then theorizes that maybe it was Buffy. When Xander asks what she means, she clarifies maybe it won't happen to them because it's about Buffy being the one that messed up. She couldn't make it work with Angel and now Riley, which is so harsh. So harsh. Xander agrees that Buffy has not had a good time of it. Um, Anya says that humans always make the same mistake that in her time as a vengeance demon, she saw girls pick the same kind of man over and over. And at one point you have to think it's the girls doing something wrong. Xander doesn't um think that's what happened is a pattern for Buffy, especially since it's two. Um and she's like what 19. Yeah. I'm pretty sure she's fine. Um, a lot of concern for a 19-year-old who has her whole life well, her whole slayer life ahead of her, whoever that means. Um, I guess for a slayer. She hasn't even experimented yet. I guess for a slayer she's technically a senior. Yeah, that is true. Angel had to leave, but with Riley, um, they could have been something. He then wonders but how Buffy is handling everything. We cut over to a church, it's nighttime. There's a young n uh nun in a habit, it's angled away from us, there's a few blonde hairs escaping from her wimple. She walks into a row with some other nuns, and suddenly there's a vampire that's charging into the area. The nun turns around and is grabbed by uh by him. We think he means to attack her, but he just throws her to the side. He's not attacking, he's running from something. This is when you see Buffy rushing in, pursuing the vampire. She stakes it and it dust. She picks herself up, dust herself off, and then asks the nun about being a nun, and that's how Abjourning Men is going. We get the theme. Da da da da da.
SPEAKER_01Um, in the training room, Buffy and Giles are in there, and he's holding up pads that she hits and kicks as they talk. Buffy asks if Giles thinks the watchers will help them. Giles thinks that they will, and it's good because they have more books at their disposal. They decide to stop training, and Giles says he will not bring up Dawn, but confirms he would mention a key that knowing Glory's goal is crucial. Buffy says that she still doesn't trust them, and Giles says that they will need them, that if the initiative was around, he'd consider asking them. They talk over the initiative and Riley makes Buffy look sad, but she assures Giles she's okay. Later at the magic box, Giles stands in front of Buffy, Anya, Xander, Willow, and Tara. He's telling them that he will be going away for a week back to England. Anya asks why or who is going to run the store, and Giles is reluctant to name her. Buffy offers for them all to help the shop while he's away. Willow offers to come between classes, and Anya points out that she can take care of everything, and Xander supports her. Giles tells her he trusts her with inventory and money, but doesn't think she can deal with people. Willow assures Giles that she will help. Anya is offended that Willow is talking like she is not even there, and Willow argues to Xander that she is just trying to help. Giles backs away and leaves for the airport with plans to get an earlier flight back. And Anya and Willow are having a confrontation and putting Xander in the middle again, and he looks very uncomfortable. He decides to deflect and asks Buffy about patrolling, and Buffy mentions killing something in a convent, and Xander jokes that any other time that that news would be frightening, but now there's a welcome distraction. When he asks for more information, Buffy mentions killing the vampire and trying on a nun's wimple. Now Xander is scared again. Um, upstairs in the hallway, like by Joyce's room. Buffy is walking past her Joyce's room and the door's open. Buffy glances in and sees something strange, stops and backtracks. Joyce's bathrobe is laying on the bed and Buffy enters. Joyce enters from the bathroom wearing street clothes and she wears a scarf on her head to cover her recent surgery. Okay, well I have something I forgot to mention. Why was Buffy trying to put her in a wig when she wasn't really missing much hair at all? Uh it was just like a patch right here. Like covered like right here.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Maybe Buffy's just very concerned. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Just like she didn't, she had a whole head of hair still just styled it. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I know the same on my hair in certain ways.
SPEAKER_01The scarf is definitely a better idea. But like, I don't know. I shave the sides of my head and cover my hair.
SPEAKER_03It's an option, I guess. You can do a wig or not do a wig. I mean they changed.
SPEAKER_01I get it if they shaved like half of her head off, like hair off. I don't know. But anyway, Buffy calls for Dawn to look at their mother, who's dressed in actual clothes and not a bathroom. Joyce sits on the bed, leans against the headboard, obviously still weak. She talks about being sick of looking at it, and Buffy and John joke that it was a little ripe and they should burn probably burn it. Joyce leans back, closes her eyes, closes her eyes, so the girls decide to leave. Buffy heads into her bedroom. She sits on the bed and picks up a magazine. Dawn follows her and asks to hang out. She looks around and sees that Buffy took down Riley's pictures. Dawn said if it was hers, she would have done that sooner. Buffy tells her that she was angry but not enough to not want to see his face. Dawn mentions not even seeing Buffy cry over the breakup, and Buffy explains that Riley leaving wasn't fast, that it was gradual. Dawn asks if that makes it better, and Buffy responds, No. She tells Dawn that it hurts, and she is partly furious at him and in some way blames herself. Dawn asks if it will get better, and Buffy tells her it has to. She leans on Buffy's shoulder and said it felt sudden for her.
SPEAKER_03Um in Spike's Crypt, uh Spike is standing in front of his Buffy mannequin holding a box of chocolates. He looks at the mannequin, gives a speech, starting with explaining how he showed her what Riley was doing, how he knows she felt betrayed. Um then he dissolves, starts yelling at the mannequin and becoming defensive. He starts to pace and has this one-sided conversation. Um, having worked himself into a into a rage, he starts beating the mannequin with a box of chocolates. Eventually he catches himself, breathes deep, calms himself down, tries to uncrus the crushed box of chocolates, starts over and calmly um begins the speech again. In the magic box, um during the day, probably the next day, Anya, Willow, and Tara are alone in the shop. Anya is busy at the counter. Tara is pulling vials of powder off shelves over her head. Um Willow is uh Yeah, he's Tara is pulling off vial uh vials of powder off of uh the shelf with Willow's instructions. Anya gets annoyed um that they're essentially stealing magic shot product for their spells. Tara and Willow explain that it's for a spell to create a small ball of sun so the Buffy can just set it off at night if there's like a whole nest of vampires. Anya says that it sounds swell, but Giles has only been gone for a few days and they're already causing issues. Willow quotes, um, are you doing something in the notes? No. Okay, so it suddenly just moved on me, and I was like, I didn't know if maybe you were like typing something weird. I know, I didn't know that was you. So Willow quotes a cat and a hat line, and Anya gets pissed off that they're quoting literature that she's not familiar with, and she feels left out. Um, then claims she is stealing. Willow denies stealing, says that she's only taking stuff and not paying. Um, I think at one point, like one of the first watches of this show, I really was on Willow's side. And then the more I watch this episode, the more I'm on Anya's side. Yeah. Um Tara tries to tell Willow that they should pay, but Willow says that Charles would be fine with what they're doing. She tells Anya that she could teach her some spells, and Anya starts to say that she misses her powers, but then stops and catches herself and says, This is what peer pressure was. Uh Willow tries to show her how easy it is, floats a stick of incense. Anya is angry, says that this is this this is stores incense. And when she goes to grab the vial, uh she wins to grab it, a vial of hellebore raises off the table. Anya grabs it too, Anya looks around above the counter, there's three more items that are floating. Willow smiles, and Anya tells her to stop it.
SPEAKER_01So my theory is like if she's using ingredients for like to assist Buffy in Giles' store, technically, like I don't know if it's actually stealing. I feel like if Because Giles probably told her to use like the supplies and stuff, because they would always go to the magic store anyway.
SPEAKER_03Maybe, but it would be it up if Willow just called Giles and asked for permission. Which maybe we didn't see it, so well, I would assume that would be one of her defenses. Like, hey, I called and I got his permission to do this, not just assume, you know, like that's the way that she's presenting. Like, she's assuming Giles would be okay with it. Um, and Ani is like, no, store products, so I don't know.
SPEAKER_01No, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Um I I also think that this is like not an emergency kind of spell. So I don't know if Giles would be that fully accepting of it, at least at this time. I don't know. It's not like something they need immediately for some reason, like for glory or whatever. So I don't know. Um, Xander enters the shop. Anya immediately tells him that Willow was quoting and floating and stealing. Willow defends herself saying that she was doing a spell for Buffy. Anya tells Xander to tell Willow that she was left in charge of the store. Xander looks tries to joke that he needs recess. Tara tells him not to put Xander into the fight, and Xander decides to use Tara as a shield. Willow starts scattering power around the counter, telling Xander that she was doing a good thing, and Jalice never needs to know. See, there you go. Um she jumps back when all of a sudden with a cash register is gone. Anya freaks out and Willow says she'll fix it. She waves her hand and the cast register appears, smoke still curling around it. Its top is open, ribbon torn and exposed, and the cast drawer hanging open. Anya checks the cash drawer, she is so appalled, she's almost speechless. She asks if the money was hurt. So then Xander and tells him tells him that Willow endangered the money. Willow makes a comment that Anya only cares about the money and mocks Anya, and that pisses Anya off, and she tells Xander that Willow is pretending to talk like her. Willow turns to Xander herself and asks if he can believe how Anya is acting. Xander decides that he doesn't want to be in the middle of this, stood out without him, and leaves. Willow tells Anya that she made Xander angry, and Tara backs up, heads out herself, while Willow tries to get her to confirm Xander was actually more mad at.
SPEAKER_01And then later that day, they're still not talking, not working anything out. They have reached an uncomfortable compromise, and Anya watches grumpily as Willow wants spells at the killer. Midway a green circle of light appears and hovers over the bowl. Anya again asks if it's done, and Willow turns to stare at Anya, and she doesn't see that the circle of light is wobbling now and turned white. They start bickering and the circle grows spiky now, like a static noise mapped on a what the heck is that word? On an oscilloscope. It closed red and the spiky circles deep red now, and it grows larger as they fight. The circle now has grown beyond the margins of the bowl. One of its edges is now protruding over a twisted purple crystal that was sitting on the counter, barks electrically between the circle and the crystal, and there's a flash and a shattering noise. Anya and Willow jump back, and the crystals there in fragments, and in front of the counter stands an enormous hairy Viking type troll brandishing a huge hammer, and he turns to them and yells, and he spots the door and lumbers towards it, smashing things with his hammer as he goes. Oopsies. Uh says sort of that she will get over it, but she just gets more perspective. Um they keep talking, and then Tara mentions the fight at the magic shop and how Anya got into it. Xander left upset. Buffy stops looking concerned. She starts to tear up, asking if Anya and Xander are in trouble. No, and explains Willow and Anya's fight and how Xander snapped and left. Buffy gets more upset and asks if Xander left. Oh my god. Buffy's so dramatic in this scene.
SPEAKER_02Honestly, it was like a really funny Buffy episode.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, it was so cringy.
SPEAKER_02Zander's Willow did a job. It was really, it was really comedic.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So Tara tries to tell her, no, he didn't. It was a little thing. But Buffy picks herself up and starts crying hard and hiccuping. She tells her that the little things get bigger and suddenly it's a huge thing. And she wails that Xander and Anya have a beautiful love. And Buffy. And then their students are staring, and Tara pats her back awkwardly. Um and Giles' car, Anya's driving it and just frowning with concentration, and Willow's in the passenger seat, looking through some books, um, and a lot of research material. And the page of fluttering and whipping in the wind. Anya points out a destroyed parked car and mentions they are on the troll's trail. Bicker on who was responsible for releasing him, and Anya tells her to find the reversal spell, but all the paper Willow hold or like holding is being blown away because the top of the covel is down. Willow tells her to put the top up, but Anya says she doesn't know how, she doesn't even know how to drive, and that freaks out, and they continue to bicker. Like nobody knows how to drive. Um yeah. It's crazy. But anyway, Xander enters and at the bronze Xander enters and grabs a bowl of peanuts off the bar and heads across the club, gets into Spike and um tries to step around him and heads to a table and sits down. And Spike decides it'd be fun to bug Xander, but Xander ignores him and eats some nuts. And Spike watches and brings up that they've got chicken wings. Also he's sort of flapping they make with from an onion and peanuts, and Xander yells at him, and Spike comments on his temper and asks if he is borrowing that anger from the slayer. Xander is confused, says it has nothing to do with Buffy, and Spike asks if she's holding a grudge, and Xander asks what grudge, but Spike doesn't answer. At the magic box, Buffy is searching the damaged magic shop, and she looks tear stained as if she might cry again at any moment. The doors open behind her and she leans over the counter, um, where the remains of the spell lie scattered, and it's Terra coming in panicked and worried about Willow. Buffy pulls herself together, the strong bear again in the face of Tara's fear. She tells her they will get Willow back, and they leave to follow the trail. It's nighttime now on the street. Olaf, the troll, is rampaging down the street. He smashes a dumpster with his magic hammer. Lies across the street and he's like, haha, puny receptacle. Then he continues down the sidewalk, smashing a mailbox. There's people running away. Olaf looks after them and tells them to flee. He will pillage their lands and dwellings and burn their crops and make merry sport with their more attractive daughters. He stops and smells ale and moves towards it, ramping rampaging as he does.
SPEAKER_03Uh Spike and Xander are talking and playing pool. Xander is um uh talking about Anya and Willow's antagonism towards each other, and now he has to play um uh referee. He mentions that sometimes when Anya says something, Willow will go get this look, like what the hell do you see in her look? And um Spike's like, yeah, uh he knows that look. Says a lot of people didn't get Drew. Xander, without missing a beat, says, Well, she wasn't sane, which I thought was hilarious. Um, he continues saying that he gets torn between his best friend Willow, whom's opinion he really values, and Anya, who's his girlfriend. Spike asks what Buffy makes of all of this, um, because he can't help but bring Buffy back up. Xander says he um he can't help uh sorry. Xander says he doesn't know. Spike says that maybe Buffy is preoccupied, understandable, with blaming all the innocent bystanders that get caught up in this mess. Xander's just really confused by what Spike's talking about. Spike continues angrily saying that um it does she want to make it a fool of. This is when someone jostles uh Spike's elbow. He yells, watch it, mate, and then we turn to see it's Olaf, and he's like, No, you know what, on second thought, do what you like. Okay, so just to let you guys know, Brittany had to leave, and we also had some fun microphone technical difficulties, so yeah. Um, it's just gonna be me for the rest of the episode. I'm sorry, there's no back and forth. Um, but yeah, she had to leave. She has to relieve um her wife for the kids. Um, so let's just get going. We're gonna keep on going at this point. Olaf is striding into the bar, an employee with hand uh with a hand truck is delivering kegs. Um he tells them that he's been stuck for many centuries and would appreciate a taste. He tucks his hammer into his holster and picks up the fully sized keg with one hand. He bites through the metal and drinks heartily. Customers move away from the bar, but the whole place um does not clear out. Spike and Xander watch obviously um the obvious supernatural troll. Xander asks if they should get Buffy and Spike shrugs. Olaf throws the empty keg to the ground. He shouts for a barmaid to fetch a stronger ale and some plump, succulent babies to eat. Xander decides to get Buffy, but does ask if Spike will fight him. Spike tells him that he could, but is paralyzed with not caring very much. Before Xander uh could head for the exit, Olaf happens to fix him and Spike with his trollish graze. He asks him if he knows um where he can find babies. Spike looks at Xander and asks, What do you think? The hospital, maybe? And Xander tells him to shut up. Olaf tells him uh that he's hungry and when he is hungry, he's short of patience. Xander tries to soothe him, says that he um if he sits down, they didn't get him food. Olaf Olaf la I cannot speak today. Olaf asks if he can be if that can be babies. Xander tells him no, but maybe some stags or some roast pigs. Spike tells him that the there's this onion thing, but Olaf doesn't let him um tell him more, says that none of that will appease him. He demands more ill. Spike and Xander back away from the distracted Olaf and run into Willow and Anya, who have just entered. Willow's carrying a book. Uh Anya tells Xander that he shouldn't be there, that there's this troll. Xander's like, big guy, hammer. They noticed. Willow says that um she wishes Buffy was there, and this is when Buffy comes in with Tara. Willow then just asks, Noah in particular, she wishes for a million dollars. Obviously nothing happens. Tara goes to her, they hug. Spike hasn't been able to take her his eyes off Buffy since she came in. He steps towards her attentively, asks uh tells her hi. She shoots him a look, he steps back, rejected. Anya um tells on Willow, says that she stole ingredients and released the troll from the crystal. Buffy um to Willow asks if she did this. Willow is like flustered, says it was complex, and that Anya was also involved. Anya tells Willow to do the spell. This is when Olaf lowers the second keg. Um he notices uh the group and he stares at Anya. He grabs his hammer, Willow opens a book, steps forward, and starts to chant. Olaf raises his hammer, yells for her to stop. Startled, uh, Willow stops and complains that no one lets her finish. Olaf looks to Anya and yells that she told the wish to do that, that she is determined to put an end to all his fun, just like when they were dating. This is when there's like silence. Everyone looks at Anya, especially Xander. Anya considers her position. She looks highly uncomfortable, and Xander asks if she actually dated him. Buffy's like, You dated a troll? And we're like, Are you guys surprised? Anya explains that he wasn't a troll then, that he was just this dumb guy that cheated on her, so she made him into a troll. That's actually how she got the job as a vengeance demon. She is interrupted by Olaf, who smashes the bar um with his hammer. He yells that he did not cheat, not in his heart, that this was there was only one winch, and he had a great deal of mead. He then decides to kill her and all the witches. Buffy commands Willow to start the spell. She reads quickly, but nothing happens. Olaf charges at her, Buffy attacks. Spike realizes Buffy is heading for him for the fight. He leaps in but never makes it. Buffy lands several blows before Olaf casually hits her with his hammer, sending her flying, landing on top of Spike. Anya tells her that the hammer is his power. Spike and um Buffy untangle themselves, trying to stand up. Spike man just a few inappropriate feels as they do so. Olaf roars and smites the pillars, supporting the loft level of the bronze with his hammer. Xander, Anya, Willow, Spike, and Tara all run for safety, but Buffy runs at Olaf, trying to stop him. The loft level of the bronze collapses onto the people below. Buffy is thrown to the ground, pinned under wreckage. Um, a little later, there's like a bunch of dust. We glimpse uh the chaos of metal, trapped in injured people. There are some people trapped underneath the loft, others also injured who were left on the loft itself. Buffy pushes up the debris that covers her with an impressive bench press using her slayer strength. Um she frees her herself and some others. Um Spike, Xander, Willow, Anya, and Tara crowd around her. Uh Buffy and Tara are already lifting more of the debris, trying to help some pinned victims. Uh Willow, Anya, and Xander start to help too, but Buffy has a plan. She tells Xander to follow Olaf and tells Willow and Anya to head back to the magic shop to come up with a way to stop him. They leave and um Buffy and Tara struggle alone. Spike steps in to help, lifting alongside Buffy. Buffy suddenly notices who is working beside her. She opens her mouth to send him away when Spike tells her that he has a victim and needs um her help getting her out. Buffy hesitates and then reaches in and helps Spike free the girl. In the magic box, Willow and um Anya enter, running in past the debris left by Olaf. Willow is trying to figure out what the spell they should use, and they notice Giles standing in the wreck. He kind of smiles, kind of very creepily and manic, like I'm not gonna let this bother me, kind of smile. He says that there's only one undamaged statue. He asks what a uh what caused this, and Anya says that it was a troll and that Willow released, and Willow says that it was all Anya's fault, and it collapsed the loft of the bronze. Willow stop uh says that he can yell at them where he can help Buffy rescue the innocents. He decides to help. Anya gives him the car keys. He sarcastically says um uh that it was marvelous that uh they drove his car. They comment that um they didn't crash it and Olaf did not smash it. Um Giles takes the car keys and exits. In the back of the bronze, there's another section of the loft in danger of collapse. Buffy is dangling the section of the loft leaning over the edge. She lowers an injured girl over to Tara. Tara leads the girl away. Buffy flips herself gymnastically onto the ground, and uh Spike is there attending to an injured woman. Spike says that he's making the woman comfortable and is not sampling, um, even though he's quite tempted to. Buffy asks disgustedly if he wants credit for not eating the bleeding disaster victim. He's like, Well, yeah, and she leaves, uh, looking grossed out, and Spike looks at her disbelieving and says, What does it take? At the magic box, uh Willow is pulling um books off the shelf, loading them onto the table. Anya is gathering armloads of magical ingredients and lining them up on the counter. Willow lists everything she needs, and Anya says that she'll get more stuff that Willow already stole. Willow asks what why she's so rude, that she has been around for forever, and she should know the rules. Anya says rules are stupid. And Willow says that she thought she might be interested in acting more like a human. They're both uh both flipping through books. Anya tells her that she is human, um, that there are stranger humans than her. Willow says they uh wouldn't turn Xander into a troll. Uh Willow says they wouldn't turn Xander into a troll. Anya offended asks if she really thinks that she would hurt Xander. Willow shrugs and says that's what she does. She spent a thousand years hurting men. Anya says that that was when she was a demon and that she doesn't have any powers now. And Willow says that she didn't have powers when she turned Olaf into a troll, and there's other ways to hurt Xander. Anya says that Willow is the one with the power now, maybe Xander should be afraid of her. Willow says that Xander is her best friend, and Anya tells her that she doesn't want anyone else to have him. She knows what broke him and Cordilly up. Um Willow tries to deny it before relenting, and saying that that was years ago, and she's gay now. And Anya says that she's always doing everything to point out how much of an outsider she is, that she has um known him since they were young, and how she will always know him better. Willow uh calls her insane um that she would never take him away and hurt him. Anya shouts uh she wouldn't either. At the height of their anger, they look at each other, realizing they what each other means and what each other said. But this is when Ola smashes in and crashes through the front door with his hammer. He's like, I knew it, you're doing spells when he could be pillaging and devouring babies and making merry with local virgins. But he has come back to kill them. He throws both girls over the counter. Uh they land, trapped. Xander bursts in, tells them to get away. He turns to Xander and laughs, and Xander tells him he will not touch them. He then charges at Olaf, but the troll is unmoved. He flicks his hammer and slams Xander back into the wall. Xander on the floor hangs on to consciousness, just barely. He picks himself up and charges at Olaf again. Olaf knocks him again, and again. Xander keeps him cutting back up. Olaf laughs, says he will fight he fights well, and offers him a reward. He can choose one to live, On Yanka or the witch. One must die. Xander looks at them and refuses, says he he is crazy. He won't pick between his best friend and his girlfriend. Olaf laughs and then takes his arm and snaps his wrist, then demands he chooses. Xander still refuses, and Olav says that he's the one who will die. Olaf moves in close to Xander, raises his hammer for a killing blow. Anya tells Xander to choose her, and Willow takes his opportunity to grab a vial off the counter and dumps the powder into her hand and throws it. The cash register disappears again. Buffy bursts in with Ter uh Tara and Giles right behind her. Olaf turns to face Buffy as Xander collapses against the wall, cradling his broken rest. This is we get a big fight scene between um Buffy and the troll. Uh Willow and Anya work together. Willow gets a book to uh find a spell, and Anya distracts Olaf, um, telling him he's inadequate as a troll, as he was a boyfriend. Olaf twitches a little but keeps fighting. She tells him that he is hairy and unattractive, and women are put off by his various odors. Willow works her spell. The hammer starts to quiver and glow in Olaf's grasp, but he doesn't notice because he's now focused on Anya. Um she continues to annoy him and he yells at her that it has been a thousand years and she is just as aggravating and emasculating as ever. He swings the now glowing hammer at Anya, she ducks it, and Willow keeps reading. The hammer glows brighter and flings itself out of Olaf's grasp and hits the wall, then the floor, then the glow dying out. Buffy uh forces the now hammerless Olaf. Uh she faces him, and she's confident now because his power uh was in the hammer. Uh, she charges, but he just backhands her and throws her into the wall. This is when Anya mentions that even without the hammer, he has troll strength. Insert a whole bunch of other fighting here. Umlaf asks what they're fighting for. He looks over to Anya and Xander and says that they will never last. This is when um Buffy gets very emotional, freaks out, starts to attack Olaf harder, tears in her eyes, um, essentially saying that their love will last forever. Xander stands, holding up his wrist with Anya and Willow on either side of him. And he asks Anya briefly if she actually really dated him. Buffy then defeats Olaf, and Gyas asks um where the cash register is. Basically, Buffy defeats the uh the troll and Willow's able to disappear him off to another realm. Um, which we find is like a realm of trolls. Uh in Buffy's house in um down in the dining room, Joyce, Buffy, and uh Giles are uh talking about Giles going to England to talk to the Watchers and how they didn't know anything. Giles says that they don't know anything yet, but they're looking into it. And Buffy asks if they know about the key. And then you kind of see Dawn on the stairs, kind of listening in. Uh Giles says the watchers are interested in the key and they have theories, but they don't know it's Dawn. Joyce still can't grasp w um that this is her little girl. And Buffy is concerned they will find out. Dawn is on the stairs, standing frozen, trying to absorb what she just heard. And that's the end. Uh alright. Um, I I said at the beginning, I really I like this episode. It's fun, it's funny, it's lighthearted, it's a good repeat episode. Um, yeah, I like I like it all together. So uh I think we both gave it an eight. Uh Britney text me and let me know. Um as a cheese factor. Um, but yeah, that's gotta be it. We will see you next time, both me and Britt. So bye.
