SPEAKER_01

Hello. Welcome to the Mr. Gordo podcast. I'm Britt and I'm Sarah. And we're here with a crush. A crush. Shh shh. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Apparently, Brittany has opinions in this episode. I do. Um, yeah. We'll we'll get to them. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't think it's a bad episode. I really enjoy Spike episode. I really enjoy this episode.

SPEAKER_00

Um I kind of have a feeling I know her takes, but we'll see how it goes. But yeah. Um it is a problematic episode. At the same time, I love it, and I watch it every single time. So I don't care.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, like I said, I do love Spike's character and I love his episodes. So it's just there is just a bit of a creepy factor to it.

SPEAKER_00

There's this part of his journey to getting where he needs to get to. So this needed to happen. I can't. And we get some fun Drew moments, which we needed, and this is the last we see of Drew. Um I don't know how if I know she uh right now an angel in this time frame. She has a study, like she has like somewhat of an episode art going on in Angel. I don't know how long it continues after this episode of Crush with Spike. I don't know. I think she goes back to LA, but I don't r I don't remember when. I don't remember. I haven't watched them Angel and Buffy side by side in a hot minute to remember how that goes.

SPEAKER_01

I haven't seen Angel probably since 2013. So it's been a long time.

SPEAKER_00

But I know her and Darla are having their little fun in LA right now. So that's part of her coming over here was to get Spike to come back. So they had they have the four people back together. Little family.

SPEAKER_01

Family. Speaking of family, how have you been?

SPEAKER_00

Good, good. Uh working. Um planning a trip to New Orleans next year. So fun.

SPEAKER_01

Which Amanda and I are very interested in going as well.

SPEAKER_00

I think we should all go. Mom wants to go with uh and drag darling with her, so we'll just get the giant Airbnb and we'll just Yeah, honestly.

SPEAKER_01

Just more girls the better. Yeah. Woohoo. We don't want no stinking boys on this trip. Jen can come, Chris can't.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no. We're not inviting Chris, we're inviting Jen. Um, sorry, Chris.

SPEAKER_01

He's probably like, I don't care. I don't I'll just stay here. I'm fine with it. Potty. Um that's fun.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so how about you? How's it going?

SPEAKER_01

Uh, good. We went to the Great Wolf Lodge again last week, I think it was. We've been we're going there like every few months. Um This is expensive, right? I think it's not if you get deals, like we've spent like an average for like a room with the water park stuff, it's like $115 was the last one for the four of us. So, but I only get it when there's like promo codes going out. Um, but the kids love it, I love it, so it's a good time. So we did that and um we did something else that I don't remember. Things just kind of all turn into a blur. But life is good right now. I am reading multiple books at the same time.

SPEAKER_00

Miss me all the time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's really hard. I fall asleep. So I've been reading every night the new Hunger Games book, like the Songbirds and something.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I saw the preview for it and I was like, ooh, I want to see that. So I'm reading it, but every night I read like four pages and I fall asleep. So I'm like, it's going so slow. Um, but I'm doing that, and then I have I'm doing the Harry Potter audiobooks while I drive.

SPEAKER_00

No, those make me sleepy. The the uh the the new fully immersed ones that are like all the sounds and everything, they just put me to sleep.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, I love it. That's what I drive to right now. So I'm on the third book of that one, and then I've got a few books that are on hold right now that I have to finish this one book so I can read the other book. Um but yeah, so we're doing that. Oh, we did go to the carnival. Cecil County had uh a carnival over the weekend, so we went to it for the first time. The kids loved it. I bet. And they went on the Ferris wheel and I did not because I don't I don't play with death like that. Heck no. Zipper? No. I don't even know what that is.

SPEAKER_00

It's the one, it's kind of like in a weird trying to think of the shape, like a belt kind of shape, and then it has like a thing that kind of like twirls around as it as the whole thing. I don't know. I'm not describing this well.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think they had that. Um they had like I don't know, maybe they did. They had a lot of like smaller.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna bring up a picture for you because you probably knew what I'm talking about. Um Well, it was cool.

SPEAKER_01

I like the carnival.

SPEAKER_00

Did you get some uh funnel cake?

SPEAKER_01

We did. I had one bite of it and they demolished the rest of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it takes like two seconds to eat a bite. Seriously.

SPEAKER_01

So we got that and a corn dog and some pit beef.

SPEAKER_00

My my Google search knew immediately what I was talking about. Because I just read carnival ride and it said the zipper. I'm like, yes. Hmm to see what this looks like. You know what it looks like.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think they had that at this one.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, so I'm trying to describe this.

SPEAKER_01

It's like it's like the flipsy upside down case. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

You you move up like you flip upside down and it kind of like you're all in these little individual little pod things that all twirl and I don't know. It's actually a fun ride.

SPEAKER_01

Hmm.

SPEAKER_00

Pass.

SPEAKER_01

I would not go on that.

SPEAKER_00

Like I'm not a roller coaster girl, but I don't mind like the spinny kind of.

SPEAKER_01

I used to, we got into the strawberry ride where you like turn your thing and it like spins you really fast.

SPEAKER_00

Be fair. Honestly, almost almost every ride now on any and any kind of thing makes me feel a little nauseous with every ride. Like I've gotten to the point where I just don't even know if I like rides anymore. I know. Because it's like an anxiety attack every single time, no matter what the ride is. I guess so. I'm like, what is this? Yeah, it's crazy. Um, but yeah, if I have to choose the spinny rides over like roller coasters, I hate roller coasters. Yeah, I don't know if I'm gonna do it.

SPEAKER_01

The drops like legit will like kill me. Yeah, I was was never a big like I have been on one upside-down roller coaster that was in Disneyland, and I was like, I'm never doing that again. So I I've gone on like the older ones at like Hershey Park, but I don't know if I have it in me anymore.

SPEAKER_00

The wooden ones are horrible because they shake too much. Um the rock and roller coaster, which apparently is not gonna be a Muppets roller coaster and MGM. Yeah. Um, well, when I when it was rock and roller coaster and MGM, um uh that one did flips, but you were inside, it was dark and they were blasting Aerosmith, and I kind of just closed my eyes and let just let it go. Um, it was fine. Um and I've been on all of the that before Epic Universe, because I haven't been Epic Universe yet. So I haven't been to the new Harry Potter sides, but I've been to every Harry Potter um ride in Hogsmead and um Diamond Alley. So nice. Uh I need to do the new rides in Epic Universe, but Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I want to go too. Yeah. I might just not ride anything though, because I'll be like, I'm sick.

SPEAKER_00

But I I I I forced myself to go through those because I w honestly the the weight lines are amazing. Like they're so immersive, and like the details they put into these rides are insane that it's so worth getting to the actual ride. Like just walking on scene, everything is so beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That it was just like I mean, we went on one on um Hagrid's um motorcycle ride when it opened, and like the detail going into that, or when you go to Hogwarts and do the Hogwarts ride. Oh, going through Hogwarts is so cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that one I've done. That was really amazing.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, some oh Green Gods. Oh my god, that's stunning. Green got stunning.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if they had that one in California. I've only been to the one in California. Yeah. I don't remember Green Gotz, though.

SPEAKER_00

They might not have it. It was in the other park from um the castle, so um it was in Diagon Alley. So yeah, Green Gots, the Green Gods are just really detailed. It was beautiful, like the chandeliers, nice white marble everywhere. It was really cool. Oh man, I've got the FOMO. The animatronics for the uh the goblins were really cool. And then like you go down, you go down and you um they have all the uh news the magical newspapers and all the little things are moving and um they have like this thing that's going like I mean you're like the start of like what the ride, the storyline is, is going through like on holograms and stuff like that. Uh that's really cool. We'll we'll have to go sometime so I can actually see all of this. I need to plan like a two-week stay down in Orlando, one week towards just all universal between Epic and all the other ones, and then another week on Disney, because I haven't done Disney in hot event. It'd be an expensive trip. I know, but I feel like it'd be like one of those things, just still do it. Yeah, just so work the streets. This is a long intro. Let's go ahead and get into the episode.

SPEAKER_01

You start us off.

SPEAKER_00

So we're um beginning uh in I'm assuming in the bronze. Yeah, there's some loud music. Um, there's a grand opening sign. This is this is basically after, you know, um oh uh Anya's X kind of like destroyed the the bronze. And so this is after it's repaired itself and I've completely forgot that he like he completely destroyed like the loft portion of it. Anyway, so we cut inside the bronze, um it's all been remodeled, and there's a basic layout of the same of the features, but it's basically less gothic and more modern. Um it's filled with people dancing and talking. We see Willow and Tara and Xander and Anya dancing. Uh Buffy is sitting by a low round table by herself watching um everyone looking pensive. Spike enters and tries chatting with her. Um he sits in the chair beside her, and instead of his usual attire, he wears khaki pants, um, a gray uh blue button-down shirt, and over a black t-shirt and a shiny brown leather jacket. Um he complains about the bar raising their prices and talking of the flowering onions off the menu. Oh taking of the flowering onions off the menu. Uh he must be really upset about that. Buffy is annoyed with him for chatting with her, and he says he saw her alone and thought she would put in company. Buffy raises her eyebrows at him and Spike frowns and gets up. Um we focus on Buffy looking back at the dance floor. Spike tries to continue to chatter and sits back down and she rolls her eyes. He goes on about them fighting Glory together, and he's still not getting anything back from Buffy. Um, Xander comes up and says, Hey, um, evil dead, you're in my seat. We see Xander and Anya standing behind Spike. He turns his head to look at him. He reaches for his beer bottle, knocks it over accidentally, and grabs it and gets up. Buffy watches him go, and um, Xander and Anya sit. Uh Anya points out that he may have hurt his feelings. Willem and Tara come over. Um, Xander offers to buy everyone drinks, but notices his change is gone from the small tray on the table. Why are you leaving your cash on the table? Whatever. Um So uh after he notices uh his money is gone, Buffy looks at the tray, scowls, and glances over the bar. Xander looks too, and we see Spike at the bar buying another beer. Xander gets up, walks towards Spike. Um Tara is over there comforting Willow. Willow mentions that she's getting headaches, and Tara reminds her, no more teleportation spells after a big fight with Glory. They all agree not to mention Glory for the night. Um, Buffy spots Ben across the room, excuses herself, and walks over to him. Um the guy next to Ben just gets up and leaves because they're like, well, Buffy's here, we might as well. Uh and then uh Buffy sits and they have a small chat, and Buffy thanks him for looking after Don the other night. We get over to Spike and Xander at the bar. Xander is telling Spike how he how hard he has worked for his money. And Spike asks if Xander um thinks he doesn't. Xander points out that he steals money, and Spike responds that Xander is turning his stealing into hard work. Xander threatens him, but Spike isn't listening as he's noticed Buffy chatting with Ben and is watching them intently. Uh then we head over to the train station. Um a um porter leans against a fence, reading as this train approaches. The horn is blowing, it comes to a stop. We get a lingering shot of the stair in the doorway of the train, no one appears. The porter frowns, walks towards the door and calls inside. Um he enters one of the train cars, he walks to the first row of seats, stops and looks shocked. Um there's a shot of a male passenger lying slumped over with blood on his neck, and on the pillow behind his head is a shot of a um behind his head, shot of Porter looking shocked. What? There's a s it's the shot of the porter looking shock. He's the porter. Oh, okay, okay. I was like, the way this is like described, I'm like, what? So it's just a lot of shots. It's just like showing a bunch of different things. So the guy looks like dead people. Alright. And um when we hear some footsteps, uh, the guy turns around and sees something, and then he runs back the way he came. Outside of the train doorway, um uh the porter appears screaming, help me. And before he can make his way down the stairs, someone grabs him from behind, drags him back into the train, and we just hear a screaming. And this is when we get the opening credits.

SPEAKER_01

This is a long opening, it seems like.

SPEAKER_00

It was a it was a longer opening than usual.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So we're at the summer's home at night. Um, we're inside, and Giles, Joyce, and Dawn are sitting in the living room. Joyce and Giles have books. Dawn's on the floor with TV. Buffy comes in and Giles asks if she had a nice time. Buffy tells um tells him it was much needed fun, apart from Willow's headaches and Spike's cameo. Dawn perks up asking about Spike. Joyce comes forward to sit beside Buffy and tells her she's glad she's home as she wasn't feeling safe with her gone. And then there's like a shot of Giles sipping tea, raising his eyebrows in an injured manner. And Buffy looks meaningfully at like from her mother to Giles and back. Um Joyce corrects herself and states she felt safer with Giles there too. Giles thanks her for the bl backpedal, but he is not actually a substitute for a slayer. Buffy gets up and follows Giles to the hallway where he begins putting on his coat. She asks how Dawn was, and he tells her she was coping very well. Um Buffy asks him if it's wise for them to let things slide with her, and he's like, No, the best thing for Dawn is to treat her the same way they have been this whole time. She nods and thanks him, and then she turns and yells at Dawn about taking her clothes. And Dawn tells her she never touched her stuff, and Buffy asks where her blue cashmere sweater is. And then off camera we hear Harmony calling for spike.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, Buffy's been holding on to that one for a half minute. That she just knew immediately what Dawn was taking. Yeah. Clearly, Dawn didn't take it, but I was just like, she knew immediately that was gone. She was like, fucking Dawn.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I skipped the part. Okay, so we cut to Spike sitting in his crypt. He's fondling Buffy's blue cashmere sweater. And then we hear like Harmony call for him, and then he quickly hides the sweater behind him and turns in his chair. We see Harmony wearing a silk like night sexy gown and asks if he is coming to bed, but he says he's not ti he's like not tired. Um she comes forward and slides onto his lap, giving him an excellent view of her cleavage. And he turns his head aside, looking annoyed and says he's not in the mood. She suggests they play a game tonight, and then he looks at her pretty thoughtful. Then we cut to Harmony jumping out of the shadows, wearing Buffy's blue sweater and a pair of tight brown leather pants holding a stake. She stalks dramatically around the crypt talking about how she was going to stake him because she's a slayer. She shrieks as Spike, shirtless, lunges into the shot and grabs her around the waist, growling and pulling her to the ground. The camera doesn't really follow them, but remains focused on the uh the crypt. So we cut to there, we're at UC Sunnydale. Um, Tara, Buffy, and Willow are walking along the hallway talking about Quasimodo. And Buffy's only comment about this whole interaction is that she rented the movie. And Tara asks if it's the one with Charles Lafton, and Buffy asks if he is one of the singing gargoyles. Um Buffy yells that she's just kidding, but notices a newspaper that a guy is holding and grabbing. She was not kidding. No, she wasn't, probably. She takes this like newspaper from this guy who's just in the middle of reading it, and it's on the front page of the Sunnydale press. It's Metro Train Murder. Six found murdered on train at Sunnydale station. Um, unconfirmed reports of severe trauma to the throats of one or more of the victims. And Buffy lowers it and she's like, vampires. Um cut to spike climate. If you hear crinkling, Sarah's opening this like Harry Potter thing I got from her. Where you build a uh a Nimbus 2000. A Nimbus 2001. 2001, yes. I have one at home. It was actually it wasn't hard, but it was tedious.

SPEAKER_00

So I've just seen what I needed.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, patience. Um, cuts a spike climbing up some stairs, emerging in his crypt, and then there's like a woman watching him, and we only see her from the back. Spike reaches the top of the stairs, sees her in gasp in surprise, and is like, oh, it's you. And then he bends over to slide a trapdoor cover over the hole in the floor that he just came from, and we see that it's Dawn. She asks what he is doing, and he looks nervous, but responds, nothing. He asks if Buffy knows she's here, and Dawn sarcastically tells him nothing would make Buffy happier to know she's hanging out with him after school. He tries to get her to go home, but she doesn't budge. She tells him she is not a child, not even human. Spike um tells her he originally was human but got over it. Dawn tells him how she likes how he talks to her and isn't secretive and she feels safe with him. Spike chokes on his cigarette smoke in horror, and he begins to cough and jumps down from the casket. Dawn moves forward from the pillar in alarm, and he tells her to take it back, but she quickly says it's because he has the superpower thing and is as tough or tougher than Buffy, and even Buffy thinks so. Now Spike is interested and asks what else Buffy says about him.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. So um we cut over to Buffy entering the summer's house, holding her armful of books. Um she puts the books down, moves towards the living room. Joyce emerges from the kitchen and asks if Don is with her. Buffy asks if she's here, and Joyce tells her that she didn't come home from school today. Buffy tells her she'll find her and leaves. Um there's an aerial shot of the graveyard um inside uh Spike's crypt. Don and Spike are sitting on a coffin, cross-legged, facing each other with a lantern lit between them. It's very dark. He's telling Don a story about a husband and wife that he killed. He continues saying that um there was supposed to be a little girl there and how he was listening for her. Don is hanging on to every word. Suddenly there's a loud noise. The crypt door is banging open. Don jumps with a very startled gasp. Spike is startled too. He looks over his shoulder. Buffy comes rushing in saying, Dawn is here. And Spike gets down from the coffin. Dawn tells her that Spike was telling her a really cool story, but Buffy wants to know why she's here. Um Dawn tells her that she was just hanging out and she can um let Spike finish the story. Buffy scowls, looks over at Spike and says, Sure, let her hear the story that Spike is telling her little sister. Spike is now nervous. Um he continues, but looks like he like you could tell he'd obviously is changing the end here. Um says he violently rips the girl out of the coal bin and gives her to a good family with a nice home. Uh Buffy s rolls her eyes and Dawn acclaims that that was so lame. Then Spike tells Buffy that he was just about to send her home, but Buffy doesn't respond and tells Dawn to get her things. Um Spike watches them leave, frowning. Um head over to Buffy and Dawn making their way through the graveyard. Um Buffy is lecturing um Dawn about hanging out with Spike, and she sees Dawn's face when she mentions Spike and calls her out for having a crush. Dawn tells her that he has cool hair and wears cool other coats and stuff and doesn't treat her like an alien. Um Buffy tells her that he's a killer and she can't have a crush on a dead evil vampire. Dawn calls her out for being with Angel for three years, and Buffy defends, saying that he has a soul. Uh Dawn replies that Spike has a chip. She also mentions that Spike would never notice her anyway with Buffy round. And Buffy is confused and Dawn tells her that Spike is in love with her. Buffy stares at her and just says, huh? Uh so now we're um at the crime scene with the um with the train. Um there's a little police tape everywhere. Um a hand is uh rips down. We see it's Buffy and Xander standing on the platform. Uh Buffy has yellow tape in her hand and Xander is holding the flashlight. They go in looking for clues. Um inside you see tape on the seat marks where the victims are found. Like the obvious, like where the b how the bodies. I was like, why just put like a little little piece of tape there just like to mark this is where they were. Yeah, and then put little two pieces of tape to make sad faces on them too. They didn't have to make the whole shape of the victim. They didn't have enough duct tape. Um Buffy and Xander Andrew uh looking around. Buffy's thinking about something else and starts to speak that um speak, but the steps keeps stopping. Eventually she tells Xander that Dawn says Spike's in love with her. Xander frowns for a second, then bursts out laughing. And Buffy tells him that she's not joking, and he says, Oh, I hope not. It's funnier if it's true. He stops laughing with an effort. After a moment, he snickers and begins laughing again. Buffy pouts, sits down on a seat, right inside the tape outline of the corpse, says it's creepy. And Xander asks, um, how did Don um come to this extremely entertaining conclusion? And Buffy tells him that Don was hanging out with him. Um, she has a crush on him, and Xander looks hurt and exclaims that he was the one that Don had a crush on. Uh Buffy ignores him and says uh for them to go. There's no um there are no clues. Xander follows Buffy out, the camera pans up to a cargo compartment in the ceiling. Um, we see an antique doll, Miss Edith, lying on its side with a red blindfold tied around its eyes.

SPEAKER_01

Um I feel like I gave you a real Here, I'll take over here. I feel like I gave you a really long talking. Okay, so Buffy goes home. She's walking down the hall toward the kitchen. Uh, we see Joyce leaning on the kitchen island talking, and as the camera moves closer, we see Dawn on the other side of the island listening and smiling, and the camera pans further, and we see Spike sitting on the counter behind Dawn. All three laugh at the conclusion of Joyce's story. Buffy comes in, folding her arms over her chest. Joyce sees her and tells her Spike came to apologize for the missing child drama. Spike tells him that he needs to speak with Buffy, who does not seem thrilled with him being there. Spike gets down from the counter and goes past Buffy into the hallway, and she follows him, looking suspicious. He tells her he has info that may lead to who killed the people in the train, and he says he'll show her. Um Buffy doesn't budge, and he just frowns and asks what's wrong, and she nervously stammers and he rolls his eyes and says there's two vamps holed up in a warehouse and let's go. Buffy moves past him and he lets her pass and falls in behind her. Then we cut to Spike and Buffy sitting in a car watching a warehouse. Spike looks at Buffy. She gives him a sharp look back and he looks away. Buffy frowns at him, looking very suspicious and nervous, and Spike suddenly reaches toward her, and Buffy flinches back in her seat. He opens the glove compartment, takes out a flask. Uh Buffy looks relieved, and Spike takes a swig and then offers her a drink. She's like, ew, and then he says, It's not blood, it's bourbon. She says even slower, ew. Um he shakes his head and reaches across Buffy to put the flask back and sits back inside. And then he's like humming and tapping his fingers on the steering wheel, and she just looks at him. He starts singing a Ramon song and asks her if she likes them. But before she can really say anything back, he spots two figures walking across the street. And a closer shot of it's like two male vamps going up to a door and then going inside the warehouse. Um, Spike and Buffy get out of the car, and then cut inside the warehouse. The two vamps are sitting on a sofa, and one is making popcorn over a small lantern, and the other is looking through a pile of CDs. Buffy and Spike go in, and the vamps get up and yell, the slayer, and then they turn and run away. Meanwhile, the popcorn continues popping. Um shot of the vamps.

SPEAKER_00

This is where Buffy, this is where Britney was concerned about. He's like, ooh.

SPEAKER_01

Popcorn. Shot of the vamps furniture range in like a cozy grouping. Spike comes forward and then he's like, Oh, in this scene, just as a continuity note, the popcorn has now disappeared at this point. Um Spike asks if they should chase them, but Buffy is still staring at the furniture and stuff and says that they've been there for a while and they've like nested, and they had nothing to do with last night's murder, as whoever did it last night just arrived in town, and he has now wasted her time, and then she turns to leave. He hurries after and arrives in time to open the door for her, and she stops with her hand up and turns to Spike with a frown and asks what he's doing. At first he said he wasn't thinking, but she points out the late night stakeout, the bogus suspects, a flask, and asks, Is this a date? He scoffs and asks if she is off her bird, but quietly asks if she wants it to be a date. Buffy makes a little groan with an expression of disgust, and she moves past Spike back into the warehouse and just says, Oh my god. Spike bites his lip, turns to watch her. Buffy turns back to him and asks if he's out of his mind. The popcorn has now reappeared. Um just keeps coming and going. Spike explains, it's not unusual for two people in the workplace to develop feelings. He tells her she can't deny there's something between them, and Buffy says loathing and disgust, but Spike counters with heat and desire. She tells him he's a vampire, but he tells her Angel was too, and he's good now. Um, and that Spike is like good now. They have a back and forth about feelings, and at one point Spike starts to tell her he loves her, but she stops him from finishing, and she starts to walk towards the door again, and he says, We need to talk, and she tells him we don't need to do anything. There is no we. And she opens the door and exits, and then Spike watches her go. We cut to Spike entering his crypt, moving slowly. Um, he walks in and like is just kind of annoyed with what happened, and suddenly there's a sniffling noise, and Spike looks up and around suspiciously and asks, Who's there? And a voice comes from the shadows behind him, and he turns and Drusilla walks out from the shadows holding a red rose, and Spike just stares at her astonished, and she puts the rosebud against her cheek and draws it down across her face.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you're over there doing a project, huh?

SPEAKER_00

I am.

SPEAKER_01

I'm I'm multitasking. Alright. Where's your little like doohickey that you use? What doohickey? It came with like a long thing that you can squirt it all the way to the bottom.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I just got it I just went base up this little piece right here.

SPEAKER_01

Sarah's doing a thing. Here, try to grab it, see if it's still in the the machine we I don't think it's in there because I didn't see it anywhere.

SPEAKER_00

Hmm. That's why I was like I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Weird. So it comes with like this thing that you put in. I didn't see one that was like it all the way to the bottom.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was just trying to tap it in. Oh, slowly tap tap it in. I don't I didn't get that little I don't have it. Oh well, what a ripoff. We'll figure it out.

SPEAKER_01

You might find it like a week from now somewhere.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, so let's get back in. So um we're back with Spike. He's catching up uh with uh Drusella but Darl and Angel and what's been going over in LA. She tells him she wants to be a family again and walks close to him um and then puts her mouth next to his ear, telling him to come back with her. He tries to tell her he's happy in Sunny Deal and um all the town dasties he can eat and she scolds him for lying. Um she says that the tin soldiers put funny knickernacks in his brain. She tries to put his hand her hands on Spike's head, but he gets up from the chair and moves away. They continue talking, and she gets closer to him and says a lot of stuff about him being a killer. She runs her hand behind um his head and then across his face and takes his chin and lifts it to look at her. Uh Spike growls, they gaze into each other's eyes. We hear Harmony asking what the heck this is, and Spike turns to see Harmony entering. Um, she comes over to them. Harmony's like, Who is oh wait, I get it. Our little sex game was just the beginning. Now you've gone and picked up some cheap queen of the damn uh to just have like your press uh precious Druidzilla. Spike tries to get her to stop talking, but she continues, um, you better not be thinking about what you're thinking, because my answer is the same as always. No threesums unless it's uh boy, boy, girl. Or Charlie Saron. Spike tells her this is Drusilla, and Drew just watches with a small smile. Harmony goes on berating Drew um for showing up until Spike grabs her by the throat and tells her that it'd be best for her to hit the road. He throws Harmony across the room. She hits the wall and she slides down the floor, clutching her throat, panting. Um she asks if uh it's because Drew is back, and he says, No, it's because I am. Drew smiles. Harmony begins to get up at her feet. Spike puts her arm around Drew's uh waist and pulls her up against him. She puts her hand on the back of his neck in the kiss. We cut to Joyce, Buffy, Willow sitting in the summer's living room. They're discussing Spike and about how he loves her, and Joyce looks upset, um, stands up, and Willow says that she's worried. Buffy downplays it, but Willow says these things c can become twisted, and Spike is um twisted. Willow asks if Buffy made it known that nothing can happen with them, and Buffy things that she did, but isn't certain. Willow says that she has to talk to him again before it gets worse. Buffy looks concerned. At the bronze, we see a bunch of people dancing. Um Spike and Drew enter arm in arm. Spike is once again wearing his usual attire, along with a long black leather coat. He takes a glass of wine from the tray um carried over by a passing waitress. The waitress gives him a dirty look as Drew removes his her coat. Um Drew is putting out the empty glass. Uh Spike takes her hands and they move across the dance floor, begin to dance, very slow and sensual. The singer resumes singing. Uh Drew looks up. Um there's a couple kissing on the balcony above. Drew turns so that her back is a spike. He puts her arms around her waist. She leans back against him and grins and looks up again. Another shot of the couple kissing. Drew leans her head back on Spike's shoulder and draws his attention to the couple. Spike has an evil expression and he and Drew begin to move off the dance floor. Back at the summer's house, Joyce is in the hallway taking a coat from the hook. Uh Buffy's preparing to talk to Spike as she leaves. Um, she asks if Willow can do one thing for her.

SPEAKER_01

So cut back to the bronze. There's a close-up shot of the couple still kissing on the balcony. We see Spike and Drew climbing the stairs hand in hand. Drew has her vamp face on. They walk in steps slow motion as the music continues. Drew walks up to the couple and grabs the girl's head and twists it, and we hear her neck snap. Drew pushes the dead girl back towards Spike, who catches her, as the boy just looks on in horror. Drew walks behind the boy, turns his face aside, and leans in to bite his neck. There's a shot of the dead girl with her head like going back and forth and exposing her neck. Pan up to Spike staring at her neck. Um he looks conflicted and he closes his eyes and looks back at the girl and takes a few deep breaths, and then he he vamp faces out and he bends down um with a girl to bite her neck, and then there's a shot of Drew watching, then turning back to her meal, and then we just zoom in on Spike drinking from the dead girl. Cut to Spike's crypt, the door opens, and Buffy peeks in. This may be the only time she ever opens the door. I know, not just slams it. Yeah. Um so she's like calling for him, and she walks in and around, and there's nothing. So then she looks at the floor and sees the trapdoor and crouches down and moves it aside, looking down into the hole. And then we cut to the underground, and Buffy comes down a wooden ladder and emerges into an underground cave. There's a torch burning on the wall and a pile of human skulls by the foot of the ladder for whatever reason. And Buffy takes down the nice decor, okay. Yeah, I guess. Buffy takes down the torch and looks around. Oh, I guess because there's caskets down there. Um there's like a lot of skulls.

SPEAKER_00

Because apparently there's a bunch of like, you know, caskets and stuff in Sunny Joe, California.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, I guess he does live in a cemetery, so that does make sense. Um, she pulls like something off a thing, and there's the mannequin, Spike's mannequin of Buffy. And then there's like a whole Buffy shrine with collage of like pictures of her and drawings on the wall.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, this is dedication, you know. This is like his Instagram.

SPEAKER_01

His shrine.

SPEAKER_00

His Instagram. It's just in real life.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know? So He's just expressing his, you know, his love. Um stop judging my NIMBA 2001. I was like, I'm trying to like squ I can kind of like squish it down so that it kind of like goes down a bit. Yeah, I can't believe they didn't send you the little doohickey. But anyway. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Um where was I? Right. So she has discovered this table of her. So we cut to Buffy climbing back up the ladder, and she looks up startled, and Spike is squatting by the trapdoor waiting for her, and he's got like blood on his mouth still. And he asks if she saw anything interesting, and Buffy asks him, What happened? And we hear Drew say, Me. Buffy turns to see Drusilla behind her, and Drew holds out a cattle prod taser thing and zaps Buffy with it, and then she falls to the floor, and Spike just grins and he walks around Buffy towards Drew as Buffy sits up, leaning against the casket, groaning and wincing in pain. Spike puts an arm around Drew's shoulders and tells her Drew is back with him. And Drew tells Buffy how Spike is feeding again and tasers her again, and she asks him if they should tie up Buffy and play with her. And Spike says he's done playing and looks at Drew. Drew. He gives she gives him the taser, and Spike reaches out and tases Drew, and she gives a cry of pain and falls down, and he says, bloody well through playing. And then we fade in on Buffy coming back to consciousness, and we see that they're in an underground they're still in the underground cave. Um they're she's chained with uh oh my god, I'm losing my words. Each hand is cuffed to chains hanging from above. Um Spike stands directly in front of her, and she's just wakes up and she's like anxious and tugs at her bonds, and she asks about Drew, and he raises his eyebrows with a slight grin and moves aside so that Buffy can see Drew tied to a pillar with her hands behind her back. Which as a vampire, she would just be able to get out of those ropes. Technically technically, Buffy could well could too. Maybe I feel like chains would be harder than the other.

SPEAKER_00

It would take a longer to get out for her. But she's done it before in that uh reptile boy episode.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It would just take her a little bit to get out. So Drew is not happy with him for changing the game, but Spike tells her, My house, my roles. Spike tells Buffy he's gonna prove that he loves her, and he tells her how much he loves her, and she is disgusted. And Drew begins to laugh, and Spike looks at her, and Drew says she knew he loved the slayer. The pixies in her head whispered it to her. And Spike turns back to Buffy as Drew continues talking. Buffy doesn't believe Spike, but he says he'll give her proof, and then he goes to the Buffy shrine and gets a stake off the table, and then turns and puts the stake against Drew's chest. He looks over at Buffy and says he's going to kill Drew for her. And Drew begins laughing again, and Buffy still isn't impressed. Spike asks her if she realizes how important Drew is to him. Meanwhile, he caresses Drusilla's cheek, and she leans her face into his hand, and there's a shot of Buffy looking bored, and then Spike continues stroking her face as she smiles. Suddenly Spike lifts the stake again and puts it firmly against Drew's chest. She gasps and winces, and Buffy says to kill her, why would she care? Spike looks surprised and takes his hand down. He tells Buffy if she doesn't admit there's something there, even if it's a tiny feeling, he will untie Drew and let her kill her. Buffy looks intensely at him. He moves right up close to her. She says, Spike, and he looks hopeful, and she continues saying, The only chance you had with me was when I was unconscious. He turns away, throws the stake away, and gives a loud angry yell, and yells out, What is wrong with you bloody women? He goes off on Drew about how if she hadn't left him, he wouldn't have come back there and had a chip in his skull. He continues going off on both of them, and then suddenly he stops talking and spins around, falls over as we see an arrow protruding from his back, and Harmony's standing behind him with a crossbow.

SPEAKER_00

I love Harmony. She's like, Mitch, I'm here too. Uh so we see Spike on the floor looking at the Harmony, um, who's asking, What about me? And we see her standing over him. Drusilla's looking at Buffy, Buffy's watching Harmony. Um, she hits him over the head with a crossbow while yelling at him how she thought she could change him. She turns away for a moment. Rushes her, grabs a crossbow, and hits her in the face. He throws the crossbow away, and we see Drew looking over at Buffy. Buffy is tugging at her chains, and Spike tries to kick at Harmony, um, which she avoids. She punches him, and then we see Drew struggling. We see a shot of her hands behind her, tied with rope. Buffy is still struggling as well with her chains. Um Harmony knees Spike in the groin, slaps him. He ducks another swing, he knees her in the stomach and throws her to the floor. Their arrow is still sticking out of his back. Drusilla frees herself from the ropes and runs across to Buffy, who jumps up to brace herself against the sides of the arch. Drew punches her in the stomach and then tries to swing, um, but Buffy locks her still chained hands and um head butts Drew. Uh Spike is still on top of Harmony, pinning her down. She reaches around him, grabs his grabs the arrow in his back and twists. Spike um gives a cry of pain. Spike uh Buffy kicks Drew, flips over, locks her legs around Drew's neck, and flings Drew aside. Harmony is standing um with an arrow in her hand. Uh Spike is on the ground getting up. She tries to stake um Spike with an arrow, but he grabs her and they grapple. Drew picks up the two by four, hits Buffy a few times. Um Spike punches Harmony in the face and she falls down. Uh Drew grabs Buffy's throat and looks into her face. Um Spike runs over, grabs Drew, flings her aside. She falls to the floor. Spike takes out the keys and unlocks Buffy as Drew gets to her feet. Uh Buffy and Spike stand side by side, both panting. Uh Drew stands up holding her face, panting and looking shocked, and says, Poor Spike, so lost. Even I can't help you now. She turns and leaves. Buffy and Spike watch her go. We hear Harmony call for Spikey. They look up and roll their eyes when they see Harmony standing up. Harmony's like, and you can say goodbye to this, pointing to her butt. Because you're not gonna see it anymore. Ever. And then she thinks, unless you run into me somewhere and it's me walking away from you. She starts to leave, stops and turns back, and puts her hands in her hips. But even then, I'll probably just, you know, back away. She backs away next to me. I love Harmony. Did you watch uh did you you watch the Adams Family movies, right?

SPEAKER_01

I've seen the one where she's at the camp one.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, there's yeah, she's in both the first and the second one. Um both are really good. But yeah, the camp one, she has more of a role. That was really good. Um so Buffy turns to Spike, he takes a deep breath and looks at her, anticipating. Buffy punches him in the face, he goes flying backwards into the Buffy shrine, um, brings down the Bnequin, and all the pictures comes crashing down. Buffy turns, walks off, Spike sits up and sighs. We cut over to Buffy walking down the street near her home. Spike runs up behind her, he reaches her, begins to walk by her side. He says she just can't walk away. That they um they had a fight, but it doesn't change anything. Buffy um stops walking and turns to him angrily and says, It changes everything, Spike. I want you out. I want you out of this town, I want you off this planet. You don't come near me, my friends, or my family ever again. Understand? Uh which if you want to hit him off the planet, why don't you just kill him? Yeah, seriously. Just kill him. Not that I want you to want her to, but I'm just saying, I'm like, I don't understand why she doesn't if she's that disgusting. I don't think anybody would be super upset. I know, I'm like, you're like Except Dawn. Yeah, Dawn might be a little miffed. Um Spike shakes his head and um follows, telling her that they have something real. And Buffy opens the door, enters, um, turning to face Spike, who is right on her heels. He says, like it or not, I'm in your life. You can't just shut me out. He stops settling at the doorway as an invisible force prevents him from entering. Buffy stands right um inside the door, giving him a grim look. Uh Spike stares in surprise, giving attendant a smile, um, not quite getting it yet, and it begins to dawn on him that his invitation to the summer's house has been revoked. Buffy steps back, closes the door, and his face so sad.

SPEAKER_01

I don't necessarily love where how they wrote the character of Spike being so creepy with all of this. It just seemed like it was really fast.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know what? I think as a person who's a diehard spike fan, honestly, I think he's been obsessed with Buffy since episode one, schoolhard, in season two. He's been obsessed with her like ever since they met. So this is not really for me a shock that it would go into more of a twisted relationship.

SPEAKER_01

Other clothes that like looks like Riley's clothes, and it's just kind of weird.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's because it's not it's because he's trying to impress her and he thinks, well, my look right now is not doing it, so let me go ahead and just change it a bit. Maybe that'd help. Like it's like what other people like I mean, what other people try to do when they try to impress somebody, they like I mean that's actually pretty normal. Like changing your outfit in order to make the person you you're crushing on like you. Oh, I don't know. Okay, well, I'm just saying, people do that. I think people do that. Oh, I don't know. And uh again, as like one night he does that. He doesn't do it all the time, he doesn't change his wardrobe permanently. Uh he's like one night and he's gonna adjust differently to see if that changes her reaction. I don't know. It's just like weird to me. He's got like her clothes. That's the least weird part of this entire storyline is him just having his outfit changed for a night.

SPEAKER_01

It's just a bunch of little things that stack like he's got a whole shrine, he's got a mannequin. It gets weirder in the next season, too. Or is it this season?

SPEAKER_00

No, we we gotta like clearly remember this guy is a unsold demon. He's a vampire, he doesn't have a soul, and he's completely obsessed. And like imagine him like a actual psycho human, like you know, he's obsessed. Yeah, that's all he's thinking about right now. So that's his entire he makes his entire life about it. So that's what it is.

SPEAKER_01

I just honestly, I just wish they had written them just to be friends because it just Honestly, I don't mind how this season goes as much next season.

SPEAKER_00

I agree with you. I kind of wish with how they do the next season, I wish they just made them friends because they actually end this season perfectly, and even the beginning few episodes of the next season, their relationship is perfect. It's like peak buffy spike, and then it goes in a weird downward spiral that I don't like. I rather wish they had stayed friends. Um, they would have been perfect friends to be completely honest. Um he could have been her person, and that would have been just perfect. Um, it does end like this season, weirdly, all the creepy stuff that happens, weirdly the season ends where you're like, damn, Spike. I don't know why. Like you haven't watched it enough, but like I wait till you get to those episodes and like you get to the last episode, and you're like, okay, I am perfectly in. And even the first few episodes um of the next season, um it's like okay, I get it. And then the writers went off on a weird fucking tangent where half the writer's room want them together and the other half the writer's room don't. So it was like Spike in every other episode was doing something fucking weird. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But that was because of the writers, not because of Spike. And unfortunately, it just made his character just kind of like well, oh my goodness. His character with Buffy just kind of weird. But again, Spike's one of my favorite characters. Oh yeah, he's fantastic. You know, it is there is some weirdness with him when it comes to Buffy.

SPEAKER_00

So that's how good his character is. That all his creepiness has not put me off on the character at all.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. I mean, I probably would have been following him around, but um, I think I've said this a hundred times.

SPEAKER_00

I am so excited for the vampire Listot to come out. Anyone else has? I'm excited. I have not seen it. I know. Well, you haven't watched the first seasons of interviewing the vampire. Um, they're doing a one night only, and of course it's sold out in like minutes, um, concert with the actor um playing his role, but as in a concert in New York. Oh my god, if I could have been there, that'd be so cool. That'd have been fun. Well, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Anyhow. Did you see the video of James Bar? Oh, I think I sent it to you. Yeah, you didn't know. He's singing, but he's very much spike in it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think he he dressed up all in spike. He actually has like a I don't know if it's his own video. It looks like one of his cameos, but I think it's for himself. He has he posted on Instagram. It's like uh he was using a ring light camera. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Or a ring light.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was like, his face looks weird, but I think it's because the makeup and he has aged.

SPEAKER_00

It's because he's aged.

SPEAKER_01

I mean he looked like he's still younger than the video, the music video.

SPEAKER_00

It's because of the lighting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

If you look at the lighting, they do really he it's all dark.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And it kind of and then they have all the makeup on them, and it really like I mean, honestly, with putting like some a little bit of de-aging stuff and using lighting, they could have probably had him on the show. Unbelievable. Oh, easily, like a little bit of uh yeah, they could easily have make him a little bit of Hollywood magic. A little Hollywood magic. They wouldn't have need much for David Borianas either.

SPEAKER_00

Uh honestly, David Barianas now looks exactly like he did at the end of Angel. Yeah. I'm just saying, he is not I he I I said this before. Uh it works for David Brianas because he aged in the show. You saw him age in the show. From Buffy to Angel, you saw his aging progression. So now he doesn't look much older than he did before. Well, spite well, James Marshers, he stayed looking exactly the same age from when he started Buffy to the end of Angel, to the point where you're like, now when he has aged, he has physically aged. You're like, oh, it's very it's a shock. I mean, that was a point to Dave Bryanis, like he aged within the show, so you kind of it doesn't look as shocking now. It looks pretty okay.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah. But all right, well that's all I've got for that on this episode.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I do watch this episode every time too. It's a solid episode. Creepy in a several factor or not, I love spike episodes. I love Drew. The cheesy factor, what would you put on it? Eight. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Oh, and I'm not I didn't lie. There is technically no more true, but there are some flashbacks and some other things. So you technically see Juliet Landau again in the show. Just technically her character is no longer in the show. Technically. But there is some flashbacks and there's some other things that happen.

SPEAKER_01

So Yeah, I was like, does he kill her in this? I really don't remember. It's been so long. He threatens to kill her, but yeah, he doesn't.

SPEAKER_00

So no, yeah. I think if Buffy was even somewhat respective, I think he would have, to be completely honest. Maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, well, let's wrap this shenanigan up. Alright. We'll see you later. See ya.
