Hello, and welcome to the Mr. Gordopod. Um, this is Sarah, and I'm Brett. And we're here for another lovely episode, Intervention. Yes. So I honestly forget what this episode's about. And I know the first few seconds I'll remember, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, how you been? Good. Honestly, we're recording the same episode or two episodes in one day. So we don't have much of an update. No, I mean I'm here. Yeah. Yeah. That's about it. It might be a shorter one. The last episode we did was kind of long. This one might not be as long as it's a little bit more.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, because you did the notes, but yeah, um, but also think we had a lot to talk about, so yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's been a while. We might find some more stuff to chitter chatter about and throw out. Yeah. But um just dive in. Yeah. I uh alright. So episode opens with the summer's kitchen. Um Buffy is washing dishes while Dawn wipes. Giles walks over with a towel to help them. They discuss how much Giles has helped. Um, Buffy asks Dawn if she has any dishes in her room and to get them before they get furry, and they have to name them. So Dawn heads upstairs. Giles asks how they are doing, and Buffy tells him some minutes are harder than others. Did she say minutes or days? Did I write minute? I you know shit. I mean you wrote like sick kids coughing all over me.
SPEAKER_03So I'm like, maybe some moments maybe moments are harder than others. I feel like moments probably is more accurate there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And they're uh so they're getting back into a routine and Giles brings up that perhaps they resume their training schedule. Buffy isn't so sure and says she wanted to take a break from full sleigh mode. Um she puts down her towel and walks into the living room. Giles follows and mentions how well she's been training. She says Giles has been great helping her, but she's been feeling uneasy. Um, like being the slayer's turning her into stone. She mentions how she was never there for Riley and he's gone, and now her mom is gone, and she loved her more than anything, but isn't sure she knew. Giles reassures her that she knew. Um Buffy tells Giles she loves him like six times. Um Giles asks how sure she is about the break, and she says she's out of ten. Giles mentions a quest in the Watchers' diaries that could give her answers, but it would take a day or two. As Buffy is saying, she's not leaving Dawn. Dawn walks in. She asks Buffy what's the deal, and Giles mentions uh the quest has helped previous slayers regain their focus and learn more about their role. Buffy says again she can't leave Dawn, but Dawn tells her it'll be okay and she'll just hang with the gang. Buffy looks at Giles, turns to Dawn and puts an arm around her and tells her that she loves her and t in like a very intense way. And Dawn gives her a nervous grin and is like, it's getting weird. Uh they hug and Buffy tells her it's important. She knows weird love is better than no love. Cut to Spike staring at something. We see Warren in the background and the shot of pair of feet. We pan slowly up to reveal the Buffy bot. She wears a knee-length pleated skirt of pale pink, a blouse of darker pink, and a black jacket. Her eyes are closed as she stands there, and Spike mentions she looks good, but what about the rest? And Spike still is staring at the bot. Warren's like stuffing books into a backpack in a panic, and we're like in his living room. Um, but he reassures Spike she is great and he will be happy, and that she has everything he asked for, the extra programming, tons of real-world knowledge, the profiles he gave about her family and friends. Warren tries to go past, but Spike grabs his arm and Spike says he's not sure he's a satisfied customer yet. We get a close shot of the bot's closed eyes, and the uh eyes pop open, and Buffybot says, Spike. And longer shot of the Buffybot smiling hugely.
SPEAKER_03I love the Buffybot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. She hurries over to Spike, puts her hands on his shoulders and kisses him on the mouth. She pulls back still with a big smile, and Spike responds with she'll do. And then we get the wolf howl.
SPEAKER_03Doo doo doo doo. So you open on Glory lying on a sofa, complaining about Ben getting stronger and her losing control over him. We see that we're in Glory's apartment. She has her legs up on the arm of the sofa. Two of her demons sit up on the other end of the sofa while three more stand behind, including in alive Jinx. She's frustrated, but her demons are reassuring her they have a knowledge of the key being human. They ask how they can help, and Glory a tells them that if they love her, they will get info on everyone that she has contact with Buffy. She uh the monks smile happily at each other and at Glory. We cut over to a slice of desert. Uh there are s I I want to say dessert. Especially since it's a it says a slice of. Yeah. It's like dessert or no desert. There are sandy dunes with scraggly bushes and one tree. Um, this is just, you know, California. Um he waves shimmer in the air. Giles convertible uh comes around the dune, pulls up, and stops. Uh Giles and Buffy get out. He uh opens a trunk and Buffy follows, wearing a long brown coat over brown pants and a brown turtleneck. Very brown. Giles wears jeans, a black shirt, and a brown suede jacket. Um, and Buffy asks what's in the trunk, and he says a book, a gourd, and a bunch of twigs. He walks off with Buffy following. We cut over to them walking across the sand. Giles tells her the location is a guarded secret, so he can take he can't take her himself, but he will perform a ritual to get her a guide. Buffy makes jokes about him finding her bleached bones in the desert. Giles kneels on the ground and begins arranging the twigs around himself. Giles says that he has to jump out of the circle and then jump back in and then shake his gourd. Buffy's like, I know that's ritual. The ancient shamans were next called upon to do the hokey pokey and turn themselves around. Giles looks at her and tells her to go to the quest. Buffy makes an amused face. Giles looks embarrassed and he sighs, rolls his eyes, jumps into the circle of twigs, jumps out, and then shakes the gourd. Nothing seems to happen, and they look at each other. And Buffy's like, and what's this what's it all about? And that's what it's all about. And she's like finishing this off. I know. Uh we cut to Spike in his crypt, dancing around in sparring mode with the Buffy Bot. Um we see that uh he's circling around the Buffy Bot who's holding a stake in one hand, and she's no longer wearing the jacket, but she's wearing this pink skirt and a sleeveless browse, and he's egging her on, and she lunges at him with a very lame stab movement. He ducks out of the way, he grabs her from behind with one arm around her neck and the other grabbing her hand. There's a whole scene of flirtatious fighting until suddenly she twists out of his grasp and flings him across the room. He lands on his back on the bed, and Buffy Butt jumps on him, straddling him and puts his her her stake against his chest. She grabs the neck of his shirt, rips it open, and Spike grins. She then puts a stake against his bare chest, and Spike says she can't do it, and she drops a stake, staring, stating that she is helpless against him. Spike shoves her off, um, she rolls onto the floor, lands on her back, Spike lands on top of her, pinning her wrist down. He kisses her and she kisses him back. Um, he slides down her body and the camera's face to her face. We cut over to Giles sitting on the sand in the middle of the circle of sticks. I kinda wanna know how fast Warren made that bot, that robot. Like it had been like what, maybe a couple weeks at most. Like it wasn't a long time.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. It wasn't it really wasn't. I like he just maybe had a recycled bot.
SPEAKER_03Like he was able to gather all the information he needed to know from all his her friends and family and everything that she would need to do and then be able to build it. Yeah. And so it would probably work. I'm like, it takes like universities and scientists and engineers years to make a hand move and shit. I'm like, how did she like Warren just up and I mean, for as much flaws as Warren, he is incredible, you know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it takes us the day of our podcast to get our notes done. It takes more than a day, okay.
SPEAKER_03Thank you very much. Trust me, I started my notes usually a couple weeks ahead of time. And usually they're still not done by the time the episode comes around. Oh my god. So yeah, I'm like, dang, she he worked that fast. Um, if we cut over to you, Giles, to get the voice down too. I'm just saying. Um, Giles sticks to the sand in the middle of the circle with sticks. Um, he has the book open and reads out in the swally, um, cutting closer shot to his face as he continues to speak. We cut over to Buffy, who walks across the sand. We hear Giles still reading aloud. The background music is a woman vocalizing. Um, she hears growling noise and stops to look to her left. We see a mountain lion sitting on the sand about thirty feet away. The lion begins to walk and Buffy follows it. Because why not? They go through the passageway made by two large outcroppings of rock. They come out on a large expanse of sandy desert dotted with small uh bushes and trees. Uh Buffy goes over to a rock and sits on it and looks around and says, I know this place.
SPEAKER_01Um, we cut to Tara closing a door. She turns away and we see there's a vial in her hand. She walks away from the door into the room. We see Xander behind a counter. It's his apartment. He comes out from behind the counter. Tara tells him um the warning spell is all set, and they walk further into the room, and we see Anya sitting on one sofa in the background, Dawn on another reading. She sets up the spell to protect them, but says that Willow is better at it. And Xander asks if when Willow's done Kim Lab, if she can come bulk up the spell while he and Anya do a quick patrol. Dawn watches Anya go past her, and we see a shot of like a pair of earrings on the side table next to the sofa. Um, and Tara starts talking about how they are are watching Salem with trail trial stuff, like the Salem witch trial. Oh my god, I really spelled that. Her and Willow are gonna watch the Salem witch trial stuff that night, and it's just going to make Willow so upset. And Anya states it wasn't that bad. The real witches did a spell to escape. Meanwhile, Dawn picks up the earrings and puts them in her pocket.
SPEAKER_03Clapto Dawn. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Anya continues that it was only bad for the falsely accused. Um, Dawn turns from the table to face the others and asks about pizza. As Dawn walks away from the table towards the others, the camera stays on the window behind her, and we see one of Glory's demons looking in the window. Cut to Spike's crypt. We pan across the pillars and the armchair to find Spike and the Buffy Bot lie on the floor on their sides. She lies in front of uh with Spike behind her, his arm around her waist, both covered with a pink sheet. His hair is all disarrayed and spiky. Um, this is when his hair I really like his hair like this. Uh they're having a chat on how Spike and his evilness excites her and she can't resist him. They have more flirtatious talk and she tells him she loves him. And when she mentions if she should start the program over, he tells her to not use that word and just be buffy. Cut to Willow and a bunch of other students coming out of a UC Sunnydale building at night. She's speaking to a male student to whom she's giving her notebook and says bye. She continues walking, pauses as she approaches a pillar and continues. As she passes the pillar, one of Glory's demons comes out from behind it and follows her. Cut to Spike lying in his bed asleep, pan across to the buffy bot standing next to the bed, putting on her jacket, and she's saying, Time to slay. And Spike just mumbles in his sleep. The bot picks up her stake and walks purposely across the crypt, and we get a shot of Spike still sleeping. Fade in on the desert at night. Jell sits on the hood of his car drinking from a thermos. He looks up at the sky. Um fade to Buffy, still sitting on the rock. She hugs her arms and shivers and lets her head drop and her eyes close. There's a noise like an owl hooting and she jerks awake. Cutsu the Buffybot walking through the graveyard, twirling her steak. Xander and Anya come around a corner and she calls out to them. We see a shot of Xander from the bot's perspective. She has a display similar to that of like April's. Up to positions 05 and more. At the bottom is a readout that identifies Xander with attributes friend, Carpenter, dates Anya. The point of view shifts to Anya, and her attributes are date Xander, likes money, ex-demon. Cut to shot of the Buffybot's face. She asks Anya how her money is, and Anya laughs and surprises. Anya points out she is back very early, and Xander asks about the experience, and Buffy says she didn't understand the question, but thank you for asking. Xander looks confused. She tells him that he's her friend and a carpenter. Spike comes up. That's very true. Yeah. Spike comes running up. The bot tries to take his hand, but he pulls it away. Spike mentions Buffy being back early, and the bot takes his arm and he pretends it hurts, pulls it away. She smiles and tries to walk closer to him, but he walks away, going closer to Xander and Anya. Spike mentions he's glad they're there because the place is crawling with vamps. They hear a noise and all look to the side. Three vamps come around a corner, and Anya tells them he was right, and Spike is like, yeah, guess so. Um, the vamps rush at them, the Buffybot kicks one and he falls back. Spike engages the second vamp, all Xander and Anya take the third. The bot fights like Buffy. There's a fight scene here, and then there's a shot of two of Glory's demons watching the action from afar. Once the vampires are staked, Anya helps Xander up. Spike and the Buffy Bot come over to them. It is noted that like during this fight, the Buffybot was like um very protective over Spike the whole time.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um Spike tells them that this was the big action for the night and they can toddle and home. Buffy tells them that she and Spike will do it alone. Xander looks suspicious, but he and Anya leave anyway. Spike and the bot watch them go. The bot frowns and wiggles her shoulders, and Spike comes around in front of her. She says she doesn't understand why her skin is all hot, but she doesn't feel satisfied. She tells Spike he better feel her to make her sure, and they kiss.
SPEAKER_03Cut over to Xander and Anya walking through the dark graveyard, out of the front gates. They turn and start walking down the sidewalk. Anya mentions how she breathes in a quart of vampire dust. And Xander says he wishes Jarl said they were back. Xander is so weirded out about the whole interaction, and then realized Buffy never asked about Dawn and that something is wrong. Shot of something blurry, impossible to see through the leaves. Bushes that separate the graveyard from the street. Xander says that he heard something. He gestures to Anya to be quiet. They move towards the bushes, and we see a shot of Spike and the bot still in the graveyard. Spike lies on his back with the bot straddling him and rocking up and down. Her skirt covers their hips. And she yells out, and um that Spike is a big bad. And there's a shot of Anya and Xander watching in amazement. We cut over to Willow and Tara sitting on their sofa watching TV. Uh Willow has her head on Willow uh sorry. Tara has her head on Willow's shoulder. As Willow states, uh, those darn Salem Ditches with their less satanic than thou attitude. Uh Tara suggests that a Discovery channel instead, as they have koala bears. Xander and Anya burst in asking where Dawn is. Tara says she's asleep, and Willow asks what's going on, and Xander says that Buffy has gone insane and to brace themselves. Tara says that before they all jump over her, people do strange things when someone they love dies. She would lie to her family and stay out all night when her mom died. Anya stays that Buffy and Spike are blinking. And Xander nods. And Willow and Tara look surprised. Willow tries to make an excuse, but Tara interrupts her and says Buffy is nuts. Tara asks what they can do, and Anya suggests that they um says that in some movies they slap people who go crazy. Xander says they uh he's gonna go talk to her, and if um he has to see her straddle Spike again, he will knock himself out, and he turns to leave. Anya shrugs to herself. We cut over to uh Buffy asleep on a rock. There's a fire burning nearby, she sits up, asks who's there. On the other side of the fire we see the first slayer, uh the one from Restless, and Buffy stairs. Now we're cutting back over to Spike, who's leaning against a pillar smoking a cigarette, his hair is messy again. There's rustling noises, Spike looks towards the door as the Buffy bot rises from the floor in front of him. They look look both look over at the noise.
SPEAKER_01Which okay, I watched this scene over a few times, and I was like at first I was like, what happened? And then I realized what they were trying to insinuate, but at the same time, when you saw his pants undone, it there was they was pulled up. There was nothing like there was no way anything was happening. I was like, you know what, this isn't believable. And she was too far away.
SPEAKER_03Clearly, um, they have to cover some things up. They just want the insinuation, they don't actually show anything.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, I'm not used to the this day of age in HBO where they probably would have shown everything.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, 100%. Nowadays they would just show it. Um I mean they they do take things a little further in the next season for sure.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, but you know, they go a little it's because they go do a different um they go to a different place. They're no longer the C dep they're no longer the WB at this point after after the season. Yeah, I think they move over to um what do they go to? What's the station they go to? IO mmm. Oh, it's gonna bother me now. UPN? UPN, yeah, they go to UPN. Um so I think they're they'll they get a little extra extra stuff going on over there. Yeah. Not as not like obviously it's still network TV, so they can't do a horrible lot, but I guess they get more freedom. Um I mean it still won't go be as bad as the Orgasm Wall in season four.
SPEAKER_02That was terrible.
SPEAKER_03Uh so anyway, they both look over to a noise. The Buffy boss asks who it is. Spike begins fasting his pants. He tells her to go over to the trap door and don't come out. She walks over to the trap door and starts down. Spike looks towards the door as it opens, and it's Xander coming in to tell him that um uh to stay um with him. Oh, he saw him with Buffy in the cemetery. I was like, I'm getting time to see her. Spike says it's not any of his business, and Xander says it is his business because Buffy is his friend and he is taking advantage of her. Uh Spike tells him that if Buffy turns to him for comfort, it isn't going to he isn't gonna deny her. He's not a monster. Xander tells him that he is a monster, he is a vamp, and they make monster movies about him. Xander um grabs Spike from the front of the shirt and says Buffy has lots of friends who love her very much and they will do whatever it takes to protect her. Doors open, Jinx appears. Spike asks Xander if this is a friend of his, and Jinx punches Xander in the stomach, to which Spike responds, guess not. Spike kisses uh kick Jinx. And Xander struggles to his feet as this fight continues. Uh, Xander takes another kick to the chin and then goes down again. Spike exchanges more blows until the two of them, um, with the demons get him by the arms. He headbuts another of them. Jinx yells with them to restrain him. Glory wants a key intact. Spike yells he's not the key, and Jinx stops. Something in Spike's mouth. Spike continues struggling and muffled yelling as the demons drag him out.
SPEAKER_01Open on Buffy at the fireside. Throughout the ensuing scene, we see the first slayer through the flames. Uh Buffy says that she knows her. She's the first slayer, and the first slayer tells her it's a form and she's actually the guide. Buffy asks about being a slayer and love, but not boyfriend love. Um the first slayer says she is thinking she's losing the ability to love, and that being the slayer means losing her humanity. She continues that Buffy is full of love. It's brighter than the fire, and that's why she pulls away from it. Um she will only lose her love if she rejects it, risks the pain. It is her nature, and love will bring her to her gift. Buffy's like, what? Cut to the Buffybot climbing out of the underground cavern. She calls out for Spike and walks off, not noticing Xander lying on the ground behind her. Cut to darkness, sound of someone knocking on her door. Willow opens the door to discover the Buffy bot. She says Spike's gone, and Willow tells her to come in. Willow ushers the bot in, closes the door. They walk through the darkened loving room, and Willow picks up a blanket from the floor, wraps it around her, and they go out to the balcony. She closes the door quietly and goes over to the bot and asks if Xander found her. There's a shot of Willow from the bot's perspective. Her attributes are best friend, gay, 1999 depresent. Which good with computers. Buffy says she doesn't know where Xander is, and that Spike is gone and she needs to find him. Willow winces and says, This thing with Spike isn't true. She's not sleeping with Spike. And Buffy says no. And Willow smiles with relief and Buffybot's like, I had sex with Spike. I'm sorry if it bothers you. You're my best friend. Willow reassures her she is, but she is figuring out why this happened. If it was just this one time, then it was just something crazy she did. Buffybot tells her it was lots of times in lots of different ways, and she could make sketches. Willow's disgusted at this point, says there's something wrong here, and yes, she's been with Angel before, but he had a soul, and Buffy Bot is like Angel's lame. His hair goes straight up and he's bloody stupid.
SPEAKER_03The fact that Spike wanted to make this out of his way.
SPEAKER_01He went out of his way like Angel sucks. Um Willow is confused but responds, she just wants to help her. Buffy states that you're my best friend and recently gay. Behind them, the apartment lights up. That's how I describe you. Oh great. Except it's been like 20 years of gay or whatever. Behind them, the apartment lights up. They turn to see through the window that Xander's return is waking everyone up. Willow gives the bot one last confused look and goes inside, and the bot follows. Terra sits up from sleeping on the floor, and Anya gets up. Xander tells him that the hobbits with leprosy grab Spike and are taking him to Glory. Um Buffy bot says they have to get him back. Uh Xander asks how they find him, and everyone looks at the bot. She looks uncertain and says, I fight with weapons. Xander says they need to go to Buffy's to grab weapons and asks if Tara can stay and watch Dawn, and the others all walk off. Uh cut back to Buffy in the desert. She's confused about love leading her to her gift. The first layer says death is her gift. Buffy disagrees and says that her mother just died and it is not a gift. The first layer is obscured by the flames following the contours of her body and says her question has been answered. She, as well as the fire, disappears. All that's left is cold grey rocks and sand, and Buffy frowns in confusion. Cut to Glory's apartment, the door bursts open, and the two main demons enter with Spike whose hands are tied behind him. Glory gets up from the sofa where she was reading a magazine and asks, What the hell is that? And why is his hair that color? The demons say that they believe he is the key. Spike looks annoyed, and Glory smiles and says that fantabulous but impossible as the key has to be pure and he is a vampire. Spike tells her to let him go then, and he tries to escape, but Merc stops him, and Jinx tells her that they observe the player the slayer protecting him above the others. She pushes Jinx aside and goes over to Spike again. Spike tells her to sod off and she punches Spike and he flies backward, crashing into the wall and slides down. There's like blood on his lip, and Glory comes over and tilts his head up to look at him. She grabs Spike by the lower lip and pulls him upright. She throws Spike onto her round bed and he lands on his back with his hands pinned underneath it. Him. Um as he groans in pain, Glory climbs on top of him and says, Maybe there's something on the inside. She takes one finger with its long with her like long red fingernail and thrusts it into Spike's stomach. He screams in pain and Glory leans over him and there's just a shot of Spike writhing in pain.
SPEAKER_03Cut over to the summer's house. During the day, Xander opens the door for the Buffybot who enters, followed by Xander, Anya, and Willow. They walk to the living room. Xander goes to the weapons chest and opens it. He takes out a weapon and gives it to Anya, takes out another for himself. Buffy says those are her weapons and they give her something big and sharp. Willow asks, um, uh where do they go find Glory? And Buffy responds that Glory is a god and she wants the key. And they need a um I I don't know how Warren got this information, but apparently Warren got this information to give to the Buffy bot too. Yeah. Um unless uh Spike talked no, that wouldn't make sense for them. It's just like I don't know. I just don't see it. I don't know. Whatever. Anyway. Um basically they need to rescue Spike, and Willow suggests that Buffy look upstairs for more weapons, and Anya says to change into something more mighty. She turns to a smile and walks off, and Xander makes a comment that Buffy really thinks they're gonna go rescue Spike. They talk about it, and Xander says they need same Buffy. The real Buffy enters, still wearing her brown pants and turtleneck, um, and says, Whoa, group hang time. The others look surprised, Willow points out that was quick, and Buffy says it didn't seem like it to her. Death is her gift. The others are completely bemused, and the gangs start to have an intervention with Buffy, and Anya stays through throne uh with her having sex with Spike. Buffy's like, uh, though who wouldn't the what with what ho? And Anya is like, Okay, that's denial. That usually comes before anger. And um Buffy's like, I'm not having sex with Spike, and she's like, Anger! And Xander's like, no one's judging you. It's understandable. Spike is strong and mysterious and sort of compact but well muscled. Buffy's like, I am not having sex with Spike, but I'm starting to think you might be. And Xander states that he and Anya say her and Spike uh saw her and Spike straddling. Uh the Buffy bot enters looking offended and says, Spike is mine. Who is straddling Spike? She strides up to Buffy, who stares at her in amazement. They are all amazed. And Xander states that they're both Buffy, and Buffy annoyingly says, No, she's a robot. She acts like that girlfriend bot that Warren guy made. You guys couldn't tell me apart from a robot. And Buffybot says that she doesn't think she's a robot. Um, Anya states that it's very well done, and the bot smiles at her. And Xander mentions that Spike had her built a program or two, and Buffy cuts him off in disgust. The Buffybot mentions Glory has Spike and she's gonna harm him. And Buffy's sister grabbed weapons, they're gonna go, and she has uh they have to go and she has to kill Spike. We cut over to Glory's apartment. Spike's hands are tied over his head. Um he stands in the middle of the room with the demons around the edges. Um his shirt is torn partly off and his face is all bloody, looks very beat up. Um she walks up to Spike, grabs his hair, pulls his head back. We see that his chest is also bloody and has one ugly round wound from Glory's finger. With her free hand, she has a dagger which she uses to cut his chest. Xander yells in pain and says he will never tell her who the key is. No, you he will tell her how the key is. Oh, he would. Yeah. Okay, good. And then we open to a shot of Sunny Dale Daylight, we see the hill atop of Glory's apartment building. Um we basically pan over to the Scooby Gang with the Giles and the Buffy bot standing around. Most of them have weapons, including the bot. Giles is amazed by the bot, and the bot calls him Giles. And um Giles is peeved that Spike couldn't even be bothered to program his name properly. And uh Buffy tells the bot that they're not save um saving Spike. They're killing him. He knows who the key is, and there's no way that he's not telling Glory. The bot says he is evil, but you should see him naked. The Buffy grimaces and discuss and lays out the plan for them.
SPEAKER_01Uh Katsu, Glory holding a glass of water to Spike's lips, and he drinks it all. Blood from the wound above his eye, and the wound in his lip is trickling down his cheeks, making him look quite battered. She smashes the glass against Spike's face. It breaks it to pieces. She tells him he is needy and to start talking. Shot of Spike's hands with chains wrapped around them. He twists them around trying to loosen the chains. He tells her the key is the guy on TV, the prize show, where they guess what stuff costs. The demon the demons guess that it's Bob Barker and they will bring him to Glory. Glory yells it's not him, and the key is new to the world. Spike giggles and it pisses Glory off more. He tells her she's never getting her key, and in this world she is an idiot. She states she is a god, and he sarcastically says, the god of what? Bad home perms? And he had no idea that gods were such prancing lightweights. Spike continues, mark my words, the slayer is gonna kick your skanky lap sided ass, which Glory chucks out her ass in dismay, back to whatever place would take a cheap horse fashion victim ex-god like you. Glory spins around and delivers a s like a spinning kick to his chest. His hands break free and he goes flying backward, crashing into the apartment door and into the hallway outside. He does a back somersault and winds up on the floor against a chair. Shot of Glory surrounded by her demons as the broken chain dangles in front of her. She tells them to bring him back. Um he cuts a spike bloodied and limping, dragging himself to the um elevator. He's like, oh, good plan, Spike. Um the elevator doors close before he reaches them. One of Glory's demons comes around the corner and sees him. Spike tries to catch the elevator doors before they fully close, but he's too late. He lands on his knees and prys the doors open. Several more demons come running around the corner. Spike leans over and lets himself fall down the elevator shaft. He lands on top of the elevators. Jinx appears in the doorway, and there's a shot of the descending elevator with Spike sprawled on top of it. Jinx and another demon watch it go, then they turn away. Um Spike rolls over and opens the hatch and the elevator ceiling, falls through it, and lands on the floor of the elevator. Cut to the lobby of the building, the elevator doors open as the group of demons come down the stairs. Spike gets slowly to his feet, and the front door opens, and Buffy and Xander enter carrying crossbows. Spike closes his eyes in relief and falls back against the elevator wall as Xander grabs one demon by his axe. Buffy shoots the demon with her crossbow. Merc kicks the crossbow out of Buffy's hand and punches her. Shot of Spike crumpling to the floor. Buffy kicks Merc down, ducks a punch from another demon and punches him, kicks a third. Uh Xander uses the axe like a staff to hit another demon, fends him off, and stabs a second demon with the axe. There's some fighting here, and then Giles and the Buffy bot come in. Giles loads his crossbows, Buffy delivers a final kick that sends Merc flying. The bot looks over to the elevator and sees Spike. Xander continues struggling with his demon. Giles hits the demon with his crossbow and grabs him as Xander pulls free. Xander flies forward and lands on another demon on the floor. The bot goes over to the elevator and looks at Spike, who sits on the floor. He's bloody and bruised all over his face and upper chest. Giles continues struggling with the other demon until it throws him to the floor and puts the crossbow to his throat as he yells out for Buffy. The Buffy bot rolls around, the real Buffy rolls around, and the bot throws her weapon aside and grabs the demon off Giles. The demon hits her with the crossbow and she flies against the elevator control panel. The real Buffy kicks the demon, then punches him, and he goes down. The bot sinks to the floor looking surprised as tendrils of blue light flash across her body. Jinx and Merc run for the stairs. Buffy watches them go.
SPEAKER_03We cut over to Glory's apartment. Jinx and Merc attempt to explain to Glory what happened. Glory asks where the vampire is. The demons look at each other with stammer, shot of a broken door to the apartment, instead of the demons screaming. We cut over to the Buffy bot's back. There's a flat the skin is peeled back, revealing her inner workings. Willow is poking at the machinery with some trolls. It sparks and makes sputtering noises. We pull out to reveal uh Tara sitting next to her. They're in a magic shop. The uh bot has been over the table. Uh Willow makes a comment that it's not a very good copy, and Willow just looks at Tara and says, uh, yeah. The door opens and we look up to see Xander and Giles enter. Buffy gets up and asks if they gave Spike a dusty ending, and Xander says they dumped him back in his crypt. Giles says that he was too badly beaten to make much sense. Buffy is nervous that he says something to Glory, and Willow exclaims that she found where the bot is broken and it's an easy fix. Buffy gives her an astonished look, and Willow says it she isn't fixing the bot. Xander says he feels kind of bad for Spike. He got thrashed and his best toy got taken away. Buffy considers us. We cut over to Spike lying on his crib, daylight outside. His facial bruises have swelled up and his hair is still messy. The door slams open. The Buffy bot stands there, no low no longer wearing her jacket, but still in the same pink blossom skirt. She walks briskly over to the coffin where Spike is lying. She exclaims that he is covered in sexy wounds. Spike turns his head to her, his eyes swollen, mostly shut. He asks where she's been, and she says she fell down and got confused. But Willow fixed her and she's gay. Um he's shocked that they fixed her, and she asks if he wants to ravage her now, but he says that he's got some bones from Mendine first. Uh the bot asks him if why he let Glory hurt him, and um he says sh she wanted the key. And the bot turns to head out to tell Glory where it is. And Spike stops her and says they can never know. It would destroy the other not so pleasant Buffy if anything ever happened to Dawn and he couldn't live with her being in so much pain. He would let Glory kill him first. She frowns slightly and then leans forward and kisses uh him soft on the lips. Spike starts to kiss her back, frowns, and pulls away. There's a shot of her looking at him. Spike looks at her in amazement. She turns to walk away, and Spike asks, and my robot? And Buffy responds that it's gone. It was gross and it wasn't real. She turns and takes a few more steps towards the door. Spike sits with his head hanging. Buffy pauses again, but doesn't turn back to him. She says that what he did for her and Dawn was real. Spike lifts his head to look at her, and she turns to look at him over her shoulder and says, She won't forget it. She walks out, closing the door behind her. Spike stares after her. I actually really liked this episode. I did too. And it's it's so funny because like you think this is the Buffy bot episode. You're like it's gonna be cheesy. It's gonna be so cheesy, and it just has a really an emotional like impact at the end there, you know? And it's a very big turning point between Buffy and Spike.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um and it like really shows Sarah's well that we already know, but she's got an amazing range with her acting. And I feel like while I was watching this, I was like, the Buffy bot reminds me so much of like early on Buffy, who's like chipper and like I don't know, more upbeat. Yeah. And then you see her more like sullen and kind of darker.
SPEAKER_02To be fair, her mom did just die.
SPEAKER_03Because in the beginning of this it while he she wasn't so upbeat, she did was lighter. Yeah, well, it's sort of briley and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_01I feel like she's for a while has been kind of just not as chipper as she used to be. Like she'll make jokes, but like as the seasons go on, I get it, life is hard. And she's got like a hardest life. Yeah, so but I'm like, whoa, that's the remind the Buffy bot reminds me of like early Buffy.
SPEAKER_03So but um I think I remember s uh hearing that Sarah liked playing it because it was just a different it's like you're paying the same character all the time, so it was fun to play the Buffy bot because it was different. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it was just a fun, just you know, a little Honestly, I wish they kept the Buffy bot on the show.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. It was a fun it the Buffy Bot's cool. I like Buffy Bot. Yeah, definitely. Uh you wouldn't think you would, but you really do. I know. Like, especially for the purpose of the Buffy Pot. You're like, oh. Yeah. You're hoping it's a one and done. Thankfully it's uh it's not, but still. Yeah. Um what would you for cheese factor give this? Um maybe six or seven. It was pretty cheesy in the first half of this episode. Or actually most of the episode. It really is the end where you get serious. Yeah. So I want to say um I feel like it was the same tone the whole episode of that was the end. I would give it a lot lower of a cheese factor, but it was I wanna say 40% if 40 to 60% of it was pretty cheesy. Yeah, definitely. So um, but it was a good one. I like it. It's fun, it's entertaining. Yeah. Um, it does it's a turning point for their relationship.
SPEAKER_02Um and um, yeah, anywho, that's pretty much all I have to say. Well, I don't think I have anything further. Okay, we'll be back next time. Next time. Bye.
