Long-time Bronx TV personality and radio DJ Gary Axelbank interviews Bronx musicians from a variety of musical genres, emphasizing not only the extraordinary range of musical talent in the Bronx, but also the remarkable diversity of its people.
This uniqe podcast is a treat for attendees to the Artist (desginatied as the Best Concert Venue in the Bronx) because in addition to enjoying the talk and music of the performers, The Artist serves coffee / tea and pastries from Jenny’s Sweets, run by Jennifer Glick, a pastry chef graduate from the Culinary Institute of America who is the daughter of co-owners Monica and Elliot Glick. This turns the program into a one-of-a-kind “brunch-like” happening.

Abdoulaye Alhassane Toure is a superb multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and producer from Niger, West Africa. A master of the music of many Saharan cultures and languages, his original music is rich in complex rhythms, beautiful blue modes, and jubilant enthusiasm. On the podcast he sings and plays guitar and gurmi.
