[00:00:00] Welcome to the Creator's MBA podcast, your go-to resource for mastering the art and science of digital product entrepreneurship. I'm Dr. Destini Copp, and I help business owners generate consistent revenue from their digital product business without being glued to their desk, constantly launching, or worrying about social media algorithms.
[00:00:55] Today’s episode addresses one of the biggest frustrations I hear from creators: "I’ve built the funnel, followed all the advice—so why isn’t it making money?"
[00:01:20] You’ve got the lead magnet, maybe a tripwire offer, and even an evergreen webinar. People are signing up, some are clicking—but sales are low or nonexistent. Cue the self-doubt: Is my offer off? Do I need to start over?
[00:01:45] Before you scrap your funnel, hear this: It’s likely not broken—it just needs a few smart fixes and better traffic. Too often, creators are following someone else’s funnel template. But a funnel isn’t a money machine—it’s a system that needs tuning, like a garden hose with a kink. A small fix can unlock the flow.
[00:02:30] Let’s look at the most common funnel leaks:
[00:02:35] First, your opt-in page. If fewer than 30% are opting in, your headline or promise might be too vague. It needs to solve a real, pressing problem.
[00:03:00] Next, your tripwire page. If your low-cost product converts under 3%, something’s off. You may need a stronger headline, more urgency, or better alignment with the lead magnet.
[00:03:30] Then there’s the checkout page. Too many form fields? No reminder of the value? No urgency? A clean checkout and smart order bump can double your revenue.
[00:04:00] And don’t forget the nurture sequence. If your emails are generic, too long, or lack a clear call to action, you’re losing momentum. These people already said yes—don’t let them forget why.
[00:04:35] Each of these areas offers the chance for a small but impactful fix.
[00:04:45] Now let’s talk about traffic. You can’t optimize a funnel that no one sees. If 100 people visit and 30 opt in, and 3% buy, that’s less than one sale. You need steady, qualified traffic to make your funnel feel like it’s working.
[00:05:20] That’s why, inside this month’s Creator's MBA Lab workshop, we’re tackling both conversion and traffic. You’ll learn how to diagnose your funnel with tools like Frankie the Funnel Fixer (an AI assistant I created), our funnel benchmarks cheat sheet, and the funnel metrics tracker.
[00:06:00] We’re focusing on two funnels:
[00:06:05] 1. Tripwire Funnel – Starts with a lead magnet, then a low-cost product with potential upsells and order bumps, followed by a nurture sequence. Common leaks: weak tripwire headline, no urgency, or a complicated checkout.
[00:06:40] 2. Evergreen Webinar Funnel – Begins with a webinar opt-in, leads to a replay or video, and ends with an open/close cart and follow-up emails. Common leaks: low show-up rate, too much teaching vs. selling, and sales emails that don’t close.
[00:07:15] Both funnels can be incredibly effective—when dialed in.
[00:07:25] So if you’re nodding along thinking, "Destiny, this is me," I want you to join us inside the Creator's MBA Lab for this month’s workshop: Fix Your Funnel with Frankie the Funnel Fixer. You’ll pinpoint where your funnel is underperforming, make one key improvement, and track your results in just seven days.
[00:08:10] Remember, your funnel doesn’t have to be perfect—it just needs to be profitable. Let’s fix what’s broken and amplify what’s working so your funnel finally makes the money it was built to make.
[00:08:40] Links to join are in the show notes. I hope to see you inside the Growth Lab. Bye for now!
