Off The Clock with B Scott
WE'VE BEEN BUSY!! | Ep091 | Off The Clock with B Scott
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Snow in May sounds like a joke until you are 15 hours from home, standing on a Minnesota ramp, watching it actually fall while the wind stacks up three to four foot rollers. We share what that trip taught us about smallmouth fishing and about bass boat setup when the water turns into a constant stress test. The goal was simple: catch giant brown fish and see what the H-22 jack plate does in true big-water conditions where long runs punish a bad balance point.
Then we jump to the opposite extreme, down in the Everglades and Keys zone, chasing invasive exotics like Oscars and cichlids and learning how to catch peacock bass. One tip changed everything for us: you often cannot “see” peacocks until you train your eyes to hunt for the orange fins, and once you do, the whole canal starts to light up. We also talk about bedding fish around rocks and bridges, shallow access with a jack plate, and why that style of fishing feels like a different planet from home water.
From there, it gets technical in the best way. We break down ongoing H-22 testing across different hulls, what counterweights really do, how poles dragging can cost speed, and why most boats look fast but are still running too wet with the water break pushed forward. If you care about bass boat performance, jack plate setup, prop efficiency, rough water ride, and real-world speed with a fishing load, this is the kind of shop-talk that turns into results on the lake. Subscribe, share this with your fastest boat buddy, and leave a review with the setup change you want to test next.

Back On The Road Again
SPEAKER_00It's five o'clock and you're off the clock will be Scott. Today we have Daryl Moore and Tim Scott with me. We're going to talk about what we've been up to. All right, we've been fishing in Minnesota, been in the Everglades, been testing boats, running fast. We have a boat now that's in the 90s. I'm talking about really quick. Fastest brim boat in the world. But before we get into it, make sure you leave a like, subscribe. And there's a new thing on YouTube called hype. Hype it up. And let's jump right into it. All right, guys. This is the first podcast that we've done in a good minute, but it's not because we've been lazy. We've been absolutely running around everywhere testing the H-22s on different boats and different locations, rough water, calm water, pretty much everywhere. We've been all the way up in Minnesota. We've been to the Everglades and we've done a lot of different things. I mean, it's been a busy couple weeks, huh? Months.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I feel like it's been super busy for us lately. I feel like we spent more time on the road than we spent at our own bed. So it's kind of nuts right now. It's been super busy for sure. I'm I'm worn down.
SPEAKER_00So let's let's
Minnesota Smallmouth In Brutal Weather
SPEAKER_00start it off. Let's talk about the Minnesota. What was we doing up there?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so last year we uh I think it was last year, wasn't it? We got connected. Uh Sam came down. We did some stuff with the freedom and went out and fishing. He was telling us about all those uh the brown fish, smallmouth fishing. And Tim, you caught a big one. Me and P Scott had never really caught one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I've never caught one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I've caught one that was like 11 inches. I don't know if it counts. I think it was like a fresh hatch fish. And so he kept telling us, like, man, y'all don't understand. We got the best smallmouth fish in the world, and uh we kind of put them off, like, ah, whatever, you know. Things got in the way, you know. Yeah, we got busy, whatever. And then Sam's like, Man, I gotta come. This is the prime time. And uh, so we drove 15 hours up there. Yep. Tim drove 15 hours up there. Yeah, I drove. We rode. You guys are sleeping off and on. Yeah, dude. We got there, and per usual for us, the weather and everything was the absolute worst. Dude, it was so cold. It was snowing. It's supposed to be springtime.
SPEAKER_00It's for one, Daryl told me like it's gonna be like 60 to like 40 degrees. And I'm like, that's nothing, you know, a little light jacket, you know, my fish and stuff. I show up wearing flip-flops and shorts, you know, on the car ride, and I get out and I'm like, Daryl, it's like 36 degrees here right now.
SPEAKER_02It was terribly cold. It was I wasn't playing that. My weather app lied. That's it.
SPEAKER_00Dude, it was so cold. Like it was not It was crazy cold.
SPEAKER_02It was cold. I wasn't expecting it. I was not prepared for it either. Yeah, to be May, it was cold. And then, and then it was the wind was like insanity.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes. We had like three or four foot rollers.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It was like wild. It was coming to the front of the bow as you're trying to troll fish. It's nuts. It was crazy.
SPEAKER_00We woke up that first morning and we go outside. We're getting the boats ready, getting ready to go out there for the first, you know, the first day fishing. And it's snowing. We're like, what the like, dude, I did not prepare for this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So you know, I'm like layering up with like everything I have.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't even well, you didn't have anything. That's that's the problem.
SPEAKER_00Well, the everything that I did have, plus some stuff that Tim had. And by everything. We had nothing.
SPEAKER_02Like we had we had no idea we were like how to fish for snowmouth.
SPEAKER_00No, we bought the baits and stuff we needed.
SPEAKER_02Once we got to Minnesota, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like, okay, this is what we're gonna use. Hey, pull up some of these pictures.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. But we caught John's. Our goals are to catch like some John Smallmouth and take the H22 in a different environment, big ways. I mean, relax, it's it gets big, is what we found out. It's like what it's known for.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And rough water. Seeing what it can handle and how it makes the boats perform. Um, so we had it on the ballistic. That is Sam's boat there. We he did not have it, but he wants it now. He wants it now. He wants it now. He's seen performance in real life.
SPEAKER_01Yes, he he's seen the uh H22 and how it cleaned up and how the ballistic ran in the rough water, and we're gonna make some uh changes to the icon. Uh, we're actually going back up there uh with a H uh H-22 with a 10-inch, and we're gonna use some counterweights.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna show the before and after what it does for his boat in this body of water.
SPEAKER_01His his water was his boat was taking water over the bow quite a bit. Yeah. You know, more than what I expected. Yeah, my back was hurting out to ride in his boat, too. Yeah, so it's very rough. Yeah. So uh we're gonna go back up there and uh we're gonna get his boat balanced, and um, I think he's gonna be really and I'm excited too because that water is extreme. It is. You know, you take two, you know, two, three, four foot rollers all day fishing for smallmouth. It's definitely a different environment than I've ever been in.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's nothing like what we have down here.
SPEAKER_01And it would definitely show you the difference of a balanced boat and an unbalanced boat. Yeah, Daryl's seen it, right? Yeah. I mean, it's water over the bow, water over the bow, water over the bow. All the impact was up front. Yes. Yes, you know, the waves were hitting right there, um, probably where the ice chest is on the icon. Yeah, it made for a very rough ride. Very, very rough ride. So we're uh we're going to uh uh make some adjustments to Sam's boat. That's gonna be fun. It'd be a function.
SPEAKER_00And this is a big lake, too. So like, you know, these guys really need this out there because of the fact that they, if they had to run all the way across the lake, I mean, dude, we had what we're talking about miles.
SPEAKER_02One of them was like a 12-mile run. We we started at lunch, like we're gonna run 12 miles of the lake, we're like, golly, that's a long way. And it's all straight most of the time. Yeah, so you just you need your boat to ride at peak performance because yeah, when it's not, it just did not.
SPEAKER_01We did have the balance point back further back on the on the ballistics, so the impact was be like behind our backs instead of in front of her. Yeah, so it it does make a lot better. I was just kicked back and like eating it up. Yeah, you're sitting on top of them, just screwing them and breaking on ice. We were running what uh 45 on the average speed. Yeah. So in the big water, yeah. In the big water, so that was a lot different. So we did get up to 71, but we were skipping the waves and yeah, that's fun too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was fun.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but it was fun though. We ended up catching, like the first day we caught 61 fish in the first few hours of fishing, smashing them. It was wild. He said it wasn't prime because of the weather, so that's kind of nuts that what it could be when we go back and check out.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's I have no doubt in believing when he says it's world class. Yeah, I mean, dude, it's for real world class.
SPEAKER_01We're definitely going back. Um at them. Oh, it's gonna be fun. It's gonna be a blast. Spinning reels. It's a long drive, but it's well worth it. If you guys never caught big smallmouth, I mean it's an awesome experience for sure.
SPEAKER_00We just kept catching them on the jig head minnow. And dude, that when that drag stripping and you're fighting that smallmouth, dude, it's so fun. And the jerk bait just fat like.
SPEAKER_01Well, the jerk bait was cool too. It was cool, dude. Throw out there, jerk, jerk, reel, jerk, dirt, real. Lock it up, and they'll just smash it.
SPEAKER_00And like the the way the lake laid out is you got all these rock fingers and like big boulders and stuff you're fishing. And you know, we don't really do that around here. You know, we got brush piles, logs, grass. Yeah. There's no grass there. I don't know if there's any, you know, brush piles or anything, but we didn't see any. Big rocks.
SPEAKER_02The rocks are the boulders are what I guess becomes a brush bag.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Sam kept calling them, oh, we got good rock up here. Yeah. So we're like, what's good rock? What does good rock mean? You know, what's the difference between like bad rock and good rock? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's totally different fishing. Like, we was up there freezing our asses off and come back down here, and we actually went fishing what the following Monday? That was this Monday. Yeah, a couple days ago. Yeah, I don't even know what day it is. It's so crazy. But uh uh, I was sweating my ass off. Like, holy cow. Yeah. No, when we as soon as we got back, I was thinking, all right, I'm busting the flip-flops back out, dude. It's hot. There's no way my body can comprehend what's going on, what's what's happening here. You know, it was your systems are uh up and down. Yeah, I'm like you go from uh insulated socks to flip-flops, you know.
SPEAKER_02It kind of puts just like a tournament fishing. Like, you just have a whole different boat set up, like tackle set up for uh small mouth fishing. They have a box for smallmouth fishing.
SPEAKER_01I I don't I don't really think people understand the difference between Minnesota and Louisiana or Arkansas, how much it changes the fishing. Like right now, the smallies are on beds, you know. Yeah, they're not even there, they're on their way there. Yeah, they're on their way there. Down south, it's over with. It doesn't happen, they're spawned out, fries everywhere. Fish are starting to pile up in brush piles and stuff, so it's a totally different uh experience when you go that far north 15 hours. Um, it just tells you how hard it is to fish professional level, too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because you're going around, you're traveling, you're having to adapt all the time.
SPEAKER_01It's crazy. And then your boat, also all of a sudden, your boat is not set up. Yeah, like you almost need a boat set up for the northern waters. Then you got southern turning and shallow water, and it's just it's just wild. It's just it's crazy to to to experience all that.
SPEAKER_00And it was wild there too. Like we was out there at one point where you could look this direction and not see a shoreline, but then you're in like two feet of water. Yeah. You know, it's like it's crazy how how it's laid out. And you know, he's talking about you know, icebergs and whatnot, the ice system there. I mean, when it's wintertime there, they're ice fishing that lake. Yeah, driving trucks. Yeah, 2500. Those little huts out there.
SPEAKER_01And they talk really fast. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Up there. Well, that might just be him. I think that's I don't know. I think a lot of them do though.
SPEAKER_01No, well, they they all talk fast. We talk slow and not very good. Yeah. They talk really fast and clear. Yeah. It's different.
SPEAKER_00I don't know.
SPEAKER_01It's crazy.
SPEAKER_00Sweet tea ain't up there. Gas pack. Gas pack. We're like, what is that?
SPEAKER_02They don't tab, pull tabs. They have this thing you like pull tabs. Like, every restaurant had them. You go in there, you pay like five or six bucks, you pull these tabs, and you just pull them back, and you might win $200, $2,000 while you're sitting there eating. And they got weird.
SPEAKER_00It's everywhere. It's weird. I yeah, I ain't never seen that before. Yeah, pull tabs.
SPEAKER_01You ain't gonna find no damn sweet tea up there. I know that. No, I ain't. I'm bringing my own next when we go back.
SPEAKER_00Whenever you whenever you ask for sweet tea, yeah, I looked at you like way too far north.
SPEAKER_01You gotta bring your own ketchup, your own mayonnaise, your own sweet tea. You gotta bring all that shit. Oh, yeah. All the shit. Everything's different. Everything's
Rough Water Lessons And Big Lake Runs
SPEAKER_01different. But yeah, man, we've we've been running all over the country, even the keys. Yep. You know, down there in the Everglades. We're down there in the Everglades and had a good time down there. We caught uh what do we catch, beach?
SPEAKER_00So cichlids. We were fishing for Oscars, but apparently the cold had came through and killed a lot of the Oscars. Because I guess they're warm water fish. Well, you know how that goes. So a lot of the Oscars were killed off, but we did catch a few, but just not very many. But what we caught a lot of was cichlets, which are I guess invasive as well. You know, Florida's got a bunch of invasive stuff going on. We caught some peacock bass too. The peacock bass was that was up there though. Like that was the first time I've ever even been around peacock bass, and we've we figured out, learned how to catch them from a guy that actually helped us out and told us how to do it.
SPEAKER_01Um once he told us, we're like, holy cows. Oh, dude, it was so like once he told us how to catch them, it was like what's funny though is like we couldn't see the fish until you programmed your brain to look at the orange fins.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, those those fins right there is the only way to really see them.
SPEAKER_01That's the way you can see them. You think they're so bright you'll be able to see them, but you can't see them. The only thing you can see is the orange fins.
SPEAKER_00I guess it's because that dark, the the darker part of their body is on the top.
SPEAKER_01It's amazing how they camouflage in the environment.
SPEAKER_00But those those pink orange fins right there, though they give them away.
SPEAKER_01But once you've programmed your eyes just to look and see the orange fins, you'd see the fish. It's it's really crazy.
SPEAKER_00At this time that we were there, they're actually on beds and they bet on, you know, they get up there in the rocks, like under bridges, and anywhere it's real rocky. Once again, good rock, you know? Yeah. And we had hair jigs that were actually going on.
SPEAKER_01That's Ashley. We finally got her in a boat for a fishing trip. That was a debacle. She, you know, just get her to go on a trip was amazing. Uh, but she went, we finally talked her into going, and she had a good time. She caught a lot of fish, and and she did have a good time. And Briggs, man.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. He yeah, he absolutely ate it up. I mean, he was fishing from daylight to like probably what three or four in the evening every day for three days straight. Yeah. And he was catching, you know, the Oscars and cichlids. So it's pretty much like brim fishing around here. Yeah. But down there, there's so many of them that you pretty much cast anywhere and catch one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so you know, you know, so Ashley stays in the boat plan a little bit and she helps a lot of design stuff. And, you know, you know, she's been my wife for a long time. But to get her out in a boat to go fishing, that was tough. You know, she did not want to to be a part of that.
SPEAKER_00Well, she knows we get ourselves into.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, she just yeah, we always get ourselves in trouble. But yeah, she had a really good time in Briggs, you know. Throwing crickets. Yeah. There he is, right there, little man right there.
SPEAKER_00Oh, dude. So what he what he wanted to do the whole time when we drove is he wanted to race. Yeah, he all he wanted to do is I'd hold that tiller handle, you know, kind of far back, but I'd hold it good. And he's up there just romping on it. Like he just loves it. He does like to race. Why does he like to race so much?
SPEAKER_01I don't know.
SPEAKER_00We think that's what we're doing. You know, we're driving with races.
SPEAKER_01No, we're out there fishing, but he wants to race.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He got good at it though. Yeah, we had a good time down there. Uh we uh we ran the uh Marsh Runner XL down there. It did really well. It actually did really, I mean, it fish really.
SPEAKER_00It's really a perfect boat for there, because like there's a bunch of like channels basically. It's like a grid system where we were at in the northern part of the Everglades. And there's some see that's an Oscar there. We didn't catch a whole lot of those, but we did. There's slimy fish, boy. Yeah, look at it. What the? But we were actually able to get that uh I love his face expression there. That Marsh Runner XL. There's a few places where it got so shallow that nobody could really get back there. And we were able to actually, you know, jack the jack plate up and ease through there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was pretty good stuff. But uh while we were down there, we stopped by and talked to
Everglades Exotics And Peacock Sight Fishing
SPEAKER_01Bob's. Bob's absolutely seen him. Yep. It was a great deal.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that plate, he has a really nice place down there. He does, man. It's mind-blowing. Like a lot of people that haven't seen it, it's like when you see jack plates and all the assemblies that go into jack plates by the hundreds and thousands, like all the pieces everywhere, dude. It's crazy. Yeah. So all in all, we had a great time in the Everglades, caught a lot of fish. Hung out with David McGee, which is always a good time. He had fun and caught a ton of fish. But let's talk about the H-22s, we'll be doing this week. Been testing multiple different boats and models. Uh, I was driving a ballistic, you were driving your ballistic. We had a Falcon out there that we were running and getting great speeds, great performance, different setups on all of them. So it's really unique, the results that we're getting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I feel like, yeah, I mean, I feel like we've been doing a lot of different boat setups, you know. I told you guys, but I ordered me a new boat um this week. So it'll be fun to get. I ordered me a Bass Cat Lynx STS. Um that'd be really good. Yeah, got it black and purple. Go Tigers. Um, oh my gosh. It's gonna be sick. Oh man, it's gonna be sick. So we'll get to play with it some and see what it does. That'd be awesome. A lot of people are saying the Bass Cat is the fastest boat.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's a lot of people say I hear it all the time. We're gonna find out, uh the Bass Catholics.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for sure. I've seen them at tournaments and they're dusting. They're nice built. I stopped by the factory a few weeks ago too and looked around. So I'm pretty pumped about it. So it'd be good. How long will it be till you get it? Uh sometime in June. Wow. So a few weeks. That'd be good.
SPEAKER_00That's not bad at all, really.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'm excited to see it, man. I know. It's gonna be fun to get out there.
SPEAKER_00So, whenever we get your boat in, we'll be able to test with it. Also, we have two uh different model falcons coming in. We have a 20 predator and 21 predators coming. And they're almost finished as well. They're almost done too. In a couple weeks, we should have those. But what you're seeing on the screen right here is actually a 20 predator, and it has a H22 10-inch jack plate on it, and it has a 70-pound counterweight plate as well. Yes, it does have a counterweight plate on it, and that's running right there with a fishing load, and you can just see how it's cleaned up.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's it's definitely totem.
SPEAKER_00He's out of the water, you know, he's out of the water really good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's running mid 70s there, you know, with a fishing load right there with a stock 250. Yep. You know, that boat just it it absolutely performs nice for you know, just for a good all-around bass boat.
SPEAKER_00It does. I mean, absolutely. You can see how he's driving it too. He's not like he's having to uh you know correct a whole lot. I mean, he's locked in and he's just driving it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's doing a good job, and uh he's definitely driving the boat, and it's just it's just it's performing really nice. I mean, there's nothing about the Falcon that that uh performance-wise is disappointing.
SPEAKER_00No, I mean from the start we had really good tests with it, and everything we added to it had good results. Yeah, and I think the next thing we're actually gonna change with that setup is the the poles. Yeah, I can't get the poles up a little bit. Will you pull that video back up, Daniel? That you just had with the Falcon running.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the pose, the poles are dragging a little bit. And you can't really tell right there because there's spray off the sides, but uh you could definitely see more in the side angle that the poles are dragging a little bit. They could be holding the boat back just a little bit, you know, maybe a mile, mile and a half.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, any any kind of water that's hitting something.
SPEAKER_01It's definitely, it's definitely a 77, 75, 77 mile an hour boat. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It will be.
SPEAKER_02You know, that boat runs good. Yeah, it does. All the boats got running good. I mean, me and B Scott, I said I'd never go fast. He tricked me into going uh 90. But it wasn't really game warrant, is what made it happen. But yeah, not that we were running from them, but we had to go pick up some supplies.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we had to do a supply drop for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shout out to the marina that won us.
SPEAKER_02Whatever marina it was, one by brushie.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we didn't have everything we needed for that test bay, but uh the game warns made sure we had it. Yeah, they checked us, they checked us so yeah, they were really nice and uh they rise on tickets, they're really good. I don't know if it's the right word, but yeah. Well, I mean they one was very good.
SPEAKER_00We started their their relationship started off rocky as it usually does. But they were cool.
SPEAKER_01Well, well, when you have a job to do when you have you guys there and Shockley there, and I'm like, oh boy, here we go. But yeah, it it it turned out really good at the end. I mean, they started talking to us and they waved at us finally. They hung out. They did wave at us. It took me about 15 waves until he finally broke.
SPEAKER_00Waved back. Yeah, it was one of those awkward deals where you know, like we were friendly at first and they didn't really know how to read us, so they're like, you know, we're kind of high energy because we're out there, we're excited. We got four boats to run. It's all testing everything. We all want to go fast. So they walked into it a little bit, you know, like what are we what are we getting ourselves into?
SPEAKER_01I think it kind of threw them off that we didn't take off. We just waited on them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, we knew they were coming, so it's like, we'll just wait. We're gonna come down here. Yeah, we just get it, we do it now instead of getting on the lake and get in the middle of something, and then you gotta stop and do it. But yeah, I'm pretty excited to get that bass cat and test it and fish out of it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, me too.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna take it to Bussy just getting, it's not going to Bussy. I'm gonna scratch it out.
SPEAKER_01Oh, he'll take somebody else about the busy, I promise you. Yeah. But yeah, man, we've done a s a lot of testing, a lot of traveling. We've met a lot of people in the last, what, six, six to eight weeks? I mean, we've been busy, busy.
SPEAKER_00Last month and a half, two months.
SPEAKER_01We've only actually fished like we went fishing up there, but we've only fished really down here one day this year.
SPEAKER_00Down here, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's been super busy.
SPEAKER_02Um we went brim fishing. Uh was not very successful. Again, cold weather came the day we went brim fishing out of anywhere.
SPEAKER_00Which that seems to be a re reoccurring thing for us. I did catch a 7-3 though.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I did have one, yeah. Picked it up and threw three times and caught a 7-3. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So we should go bass fishing, I guess.
SPEAKER_01It's still, it's still, I mean, I mean, the good days are still coming. I mean, uh fish gonna pile up in brush piles here pretty soon. But that pass right there, that pass right there was 79.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It was without poles. Um without poles. I mean, it's not super loaded down. You know, that's what the boat ran.
SPEAKER_00Um and that right there was actually with the 140-pound counterweight, not the 70. So the video y'all saw before was with the 70-pound counterweight, that's a 140-pound counterweight. So you can see there, it cleans it up more uh on the big end. And we were able to get to 79 miles an hour. But you know, as far as like fishing load and functionality goes.
SPEAKER_01For a heavy extreme load, you might would need the uh the bigger counterweights. But um what we're seeing is that particular boat would just it operates really nice with a 70-pound counterweight. It does, it doesn't quite need all of it. No, you know, it doesn't. That boat naturally lifts really well. It's probably one of the best lifting holes on the industry. I mean I haven't seen a hole that cleans up that good uh uh you know, out of the box.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, dude, it's you know I mean you can see it right there. I mean, it's impressive. I mean, you can honestly take that video. So we were running 79 right there, but you could take that video and post it and say you're running 88, and people probably wouldn't know. No, I mean it looks fast.
SPEAKER_01It does look super fast. I mean, it just the the the rooster tail is is is low, it's shooting straight out, it's clean, it's um I mean it's it's running, man.
SPEAKER_00And you don't see a lot of boats out there on the lake. Like if you just go out there go fishing and you see a bass boat going across the lake, very rarely do you see a bass boat that's properly set up that is cleaned up like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you you really don't. I mean, most of the time when you see a bass boat running across the lake, that water break is right there in front of the console.
SPEAKER_01And so what's causing all that beast crab mean I mean tell the viewers what's causing uh these boats to run like this.
SPEAKER_00Well, a lot of it is, you know, all these new boats come in, you know, that people put lithiums in there and they're not having the the proper amount of weight on the back end with jack plates and what we're dealing with with the counterweights to get the balance point further back. So what's happening is if that balance point, so say that balance point of that boat is two foot in front of where it is right here, then that water brake's fixing to be in front of the console. We're not gonna have the lift angle and not quite in front of the console, but pretty close. But the more the boat you have in the water, the slower you're gonna go, naturally. You know, the more you can free the boat up out of the water and get the water out from you know being trapped under the boat, the faster you'll go. And that that's really just getting the balance point back.
SPEAKER_01And Falcon's a pretty light boat too, Daryl. What what that boat weigh? Uh he said 1800 pounds. I mean that's a pretty light boat. I mean it's I think the the the the the energy that
H-22 Testing And New Boat Plans
SPEAKER_01standards is around 22, 2300 pounds. Yeah. On the average probably it's definitely a lighter boat. Yeah so I mean that helps Falcon does build a lighter boat than most. You could see you could you you could definitely tell that in and how the boat's running. Yeah I mean you it feels like a lighter boat it takes a lot less it takes a lot less horsepower to lift the you know to lift the bow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But it's super awesome it's a super awesome boat. We're really happy with it.
SPEAKER_00We're excited to test the ones we got coming as well because the ones we got coming I know the 20 footer has a 300 on it 300 so you know as right now it's all the boats we ran we ran several different boats.
SPEAKER_01I mean if you was a a buyer getting into bass fishing and you wanted a performance boat that you that had good fishability you couldn't go wrong with an I it couldn't go wrong with the fact no it wouldn't be a bad decision. The icon's more of a larger platform that we ran. It's super comfortable you know it doesn't have quite the performance features of the of the falcon. No you know um then the ballistic is totally different animal. Yeah it is you know the fishing platform is a little bit smaller than the uh than the rest on the ballistic um but it is definitely a go fast.
SPEAKER_02Oh it dude it it's the fast it's the world's fastest brim boat like that's hands down this is because you brim fish out of it there's nobody out there that I know of that's running a 99 hour brim fishing boat yeah that's rolling out 92 93 miles an hour to hit that brim hole uh nobody you know it it did it did have a lot of good features though the ballistic did take the rough water better than I could ever imagine the V just shreds it you know it slices right through it yeah so we got a lot of cool stuff coming up I mean like I said you know Daryl mentioned uh the Bass Cat coming on board where I'm really excited to see the Bass Cat reform it weighs 1900 pounds which one the Bass Cat see that's pretty light that's not bad 1990 according to chat that's crazy yeah according to chat hey chat's the chat's pretty accurate let me just go to the website hey chat's pretty cool yeah 1930 which is that's pretty that's pretty light fast 250 yeah 10 foot poles so they're expecting it to run with like with a light load you know upper 70s upper 70s yeah that's probably what they're expecting that's pretty that's pretty impressive yeah i'm i'm i'm i'm ready to see it oh yeah i mean we've gone so through so many boats and studied so many boats running if he starts out running us we're not gonna give him props yeah we'll choke him down with props we're not gonna run the Bravo man max fives or not but we got we still got we got a ranger we're gonna set up and play with sketers rangers yeah we're gonna play with all of them with jack players I think they're all gonna do good I went down to Texas and and and talked to Travis you know and and took him a jack play for his Skeeter.
SPEAKER_01I'm anxious to see the results of that you know Travis is a good guy uh prop works down there in Louisiana he builds props for us race props and he he has a skeeter um so I'm I'm excited to see his results of that I think it's gonna help the mid-range hop on Skeeter you know everybody knows he has a bad mid-range hop like 30 miles an hour everyone I talk to that has owns a sketer so it's the only bad thing about sketer is a hops you know so hopefully there's definitely something there that we're gonna we're gonna fix hopefully the H22 takes care of that hop with cleaner water to the prop.
SPEAKER_00So we got a lot of cool stuff going on and still like we have uh what four or five meet and greets due yeah we're going back to Minnesota we got a lot of good stuff going
