It's five o'clock and you're off the clock with Beast Guy. Today we have as our guests Noah Sheffield and Dylan from Rowdy Creek. And we're going to talk about sandbars, good times. We're going to talk about a little bit of deer hunting, all the events they got lined up, and some new product they got on their website. And we know you guys, Rowdy Creek. That means sandbars, hanging out on the river, having a good time. And we've been seeing y'all be doing a lot of that. How's that been going? It's been going pretty good.

Um, it's been hot. We've been doing a couple events. We've had two or three so far this year. All went good. Um, just warming up though now. We're gonna we got two big events coming up. Both are benefit events. Uh, one's for Millie Kate. She um had some problems in her sleep one night. So our next event's gonna be for her, and then our big poker run in Tunica will be uh for Baptist East or uh Children's. Is it Baptist Children? Baptist Children. Yeah, Baptist Children's. So those are gonna be two big ones coming up. It'll be a good turnout too. People get excited about it. It's a good time. Benefits are always good. We we enjoy doing those type of events more than anything because I feel like everybody's out there and kind of like-minded and it it's events just goes smoother than that.

Yeah, it's a less of a kind of aggressive type of experience out there. You know how sandbars can get it, they can get rowdy quick.

I mean 100%. Just pretty much all your events you're always trying to raise money for something. I mean, is it is there always a cause?

We try to, some aren't, but you can tell the event, the difference between um I guess the demographic that shows up for it, really. You can just tell whenever you show up for a a benefit, everybody's almost like-minded and kind of there's a whole lot less drama and stuff going on when it's for a benefit. Everything seems to go a lot smoother. Um, when you do it for your own good or your own like personal benefit, uh stuff kind of gets a little drama kind of intensifies. That's crazy how that works.

Why is that you think? Why is that selfish? Yeah, selfish. I think yeah, I think it's two people like they respect the events, you know. They don't want to do that, but then if it's not an event, they're like, I don't care what anybody thinks, you know what I mean? Right. That's terrible.

And I think when you get in an atmosphere like that and people have drinks involved, everybody wants to be the main character too, and like egos start clashing. 100%. And probably the internet has a lot to do with that too. A lot of these guys, you know, they'll, you know, for months they'll be on there talking trash to each other, and then they finally run into each other here at your event. Yeah. And it's like now or never, you know. Yeah.

Yep. And unfortunately, the past, you know, two years at the poker and we haven't had any drama or anything like that. Everyone showed up for the good cause and had a good time, and everyone went home safely after that.

Most of the time with what you're talking about, though, like you'll see it. Like everybody'll see it. Like, whether it be a page that they're talking crap on or whatever, they'll meet in person. Next thing you know, they're like best friends. Yeah, they're all buddy buddies. Believe it or not, more times than not.

From Sandbars To Hunting Season

But so once the sandbar season's over, I remember we deer hunted last year. It's about that time. Oh, yeah. That's what I'm looking for. Herky's just got, you know, for the most part over with for everybody. I mean, y'all did y'all go turkey hunt any?

No. Springtime's a real busy time with welding, and he does landscaping, so it's that's kind of his start out of everything gets real busy. So I've always wanted to go turkey hunt. I've done it a bunch in the past, never been able to kill my first herky. Of course, I do all most of my hunting on public land. And in Mississippi, turkey hunting on public land.

I think the woods are so thick that you spook a lot of birds. Yeah, you can't. A lot of that's great. And I think they get educated. It's not like Kansas or Texas or I don't know if you need some buyers. Where you can actually see the birds and get to them. I think out here down southeast United States, I think I think we just spook a lot of birds. They're just very smart.

Yeah. Yeah. Very educated birds around home too. Especially like this past winter and stuff, we had that big ice storm down in the pines and everything. And it was it was real hard for a lot of guys around home to kill turkeys because of that.

Me and Beech Scott, we went to hung up. We went to Oregon. And it was retarded. Yeah, Oregon was good, huh? It tells us about Oregon, dude. It was what, 15 turkeys in 24 hours? Yes. So like I not just us, no, it was just us. Display.

To put this in perspective, okay? There's this one strip, I would say probably 300 yards wide, right?

And I know of three birds getting killed in that exact spot one day. Four. Or four.

And the next day, four birds to that spot. And that's the same spot I killed my bird. And when my bird first started gobbling, there was like seven other birds in like a complete circle around it. I'm like, in this one spot.

I shot I shot mine in this spot. I was the first person to shoot one. I shot mine. It came right into it. Shot it. I shot twice, actually. But anyways. It was the second was a cleanup. I shot it. I shot. Me and Bee Scott walked all the way to the other end of the property. Came back and we got back. Hat Hawk and uh David Hollerman, like the famous turkey caller. They had just shot two, not even a hundred yards from where I just shot mine. Yes. Like it was like, what, two hours later by the time we walked to the other end of property and come back? They shot two. We loaded up. And then next morning, Bee Scott comes in there. Like, I mean, it just turned daylight, had his dead, and then they took somebody else in there that like lunchtime comes in.

There's just so many turkeys, and they're all they all gobble and they do it dirty. Like you call to the birds, they come in. You know, you you don't have none of that, like, you know, oh he's going the other way. He's going the other no, that bird's coming in. Fighting turkey hunters the whole time.

But you should you shoot a bird somewhere in Arkansas like that. Like that place is done. Yeah. Or like the season. Like, you may not even kill one there next year.

Yeah. No, it's insane. And it was what's crazy is like the conditions, too. Like it was snowing. Yeah. These birds are hammering in the snow. Yeah. It was I don't even understand how that evening. That's crazy. Or if it goes to raining back at home, you may as well stay at the house. Yeah. Hands blowing, just right, stay home. I know. I mean, dude, it's insane. Going out of state, turkey hunting, especially if you live in Arkansas, it's like a whole game changer.

Yeah, when we got there, when we got there, we got out of the truck, got dressed, and uh as soon as we got there, we're next to you we know we run up a side of a mountain trying to kill one. We weren't even there, what, two minutes probably? Yeah. Enough time to put our clothes on, get in the south side, drive up, get out. As soon as we get out, we walk around a corner, the bird just blew up, gobbling. We're like, wow. All right, here we go. See that's wild. And then we start running up side of a mountain and we decided we're gonna come back down and go for another bird.

And decided when we got back, we're gonna start working out. Because let me tell you that shit sucks bad. What's the terrain like there? Is it it's weird actually. Look at the Eiffel Tower and imagine walking straight up to it. The top of it. But what's crazy about Oregon is like the area we were in, you have like 40 minutes this way is like snow-capped mountains. Then you got 40 minutes that way, you're on like the uh desert. Yeah, desert. And then 40 minutes this way, you're on the shoreline. You know, it's like jungle. It's like there's a lot of crap happening on one spot. That's wild. It is insane.

I feel like that's one of those hunts people look at and they're like, oh, that's cool. I want to go do that. And then they get out there and they're like, nah.

We walked like 60 yards, and I was like, couldn't breathe. I was looking around to make sure everybody else was like doing the same shit, and I wasn't just like dying or something.

It's bad, dude. It's bad. That 10 hours. When we went to Kentucky, I remember it was bad. That was freaky. Dude, it was hot. I remember he went out by himself one time, and me and Taylor were going to check something else. I can't remember what we were doing. I think we were going to check somewhere new to hunt. Came back because we were gonna meet back up with y'all, and we were like, I wonder where Tim's at. He's been out there. No, he was picking up a stand. That's what he was doing. Yeah. And we were waiting. Next thing you know, you see Tim's just a glossy head walking through. I'm talking about just drenched. It looked like jumped off in a pond and dude rent.

Well, you know what? What sucks about that time of year hunting is like you do all this scent control, everything. It don't matter. You walk out to your spot, don't matter how far it is, you smell like absolute water. Terrible. Like you can't, yeah. You better hunt the wind because you there's nothing you can do about it. You're gonna sweat.

I know, like, you know, everybody looks like Navy SEALs and all the stuff they do. You're like, oh, you get all pumped up watching their stuff, and then like you get in like a situation where you're walking, your calves are burning, you're just cannot be a Navy SEAL, dude. There's no way. Imagine being hunted while you're doing that.

You know, it's easy to watch it on the TV and be like, oh, that ain't that bad. Then you go out there and do a hunt. I mean, even we went to Colorado elk hunting, it was tough, man. We had to walk. I mean, I'll look at that poster over there, and you know, we had to walk what we had to haul elk out, what, mile and a half, two miles? On flatland, it's tough. Yeah. Because it's sandy, it's real sandy material, you know, and it's tough.

That elevation change hurts you too. It does when you're used to living in the room. Yeah, you can hardly breathe, man. It's like that thick air down here. Yeah, yeah.

There's different levels. Yeah, you know that? There's like a there's like an easy level where like the the steps are like not very hard to step. Then you can go like moderate, like more steep, or you can go like super steep steps, it makes it like way more pressure. So it burns. Like if you do like five steps on that high level, it'll feel like 40 on the easy level. What's the high level? Like seven or eight? No, I mean, I think it's like it goes like 20, doesn't it? You're walking like 16. 16, 17. That'd be like, well, we didn't Oregon be like a uh like 17 grade. You're like a uh stair stepper, like that's your thing. I did it for a month, yeah. Yeah, that's your thing. I liked it. You know all I Well really what happened was I seen their record up there and I was like, you don't wonder if I really worked hard because I'm doing six hundred.

Well, I mean, the twins hours, what, 120 or something? Yeah. No brakes, no stops. You do straight. This dude did 600. 600. Like I thought about it because I'm competitive and I got to like it's like four. I did like 40 minutes, and I was like, yeah, that ain't worth it. How long would that even take? How long does it how long would it take somebody to do 600? I don't know, but I was like trying to calculate. You get to be walking at a pretty good pace unless you're standing there all day. Do you have to beat about a certain time? I don't know. It just said 600 flights.

No, it's it's funner because we got that drink package, and you think you're getting them for free. We pay, I think it was $700 for me and Lauren for the drink package, and we probably cleared, probably paid three grand. That was my main goal. That's what you were tracking. I was like, I was like, all right, I know this. And then I started drinking expensive drinks. I was like, normally I'm just a beer drinker, and I was like, screw up, what are the things you drink, Lauren? Red Bull and what? I was like, all right. Oh yeah, you pay you. I was like, Sprite and what? All right, yeah, I'll take that. Drinking with a pinky of it.

There's so many islands. He drank so much. Like, it's crazy. Like how many islands, like Lawrence showed me before, but uh even on our honeymoon, there's so many different little islands that are out there. Um I don't know how many there are, but one of them, so it was um Royal Caribbean. One of the islands, Royal Caribbean owns, I think um Carnival owns some islands, and it's like they have their own island and stuff. But it's it's awesome. I think she said y'all went to Nassau. Yeah.

There's always something to do, though. Like, you're you don't really pay attention that you're out on the ocean unless you like walk off to the side by the pool and you look at, and it's all the pretty blue ocean and stuff like that. Even the big rollers. I mean, we went on a cruise for my fiance's graduation when she graduated college, and uh it was probably 10, 12 foot seas, and you couldn't even feel it.

One of the coolest things about that boat was it had those little surf things where you can um it's got the water coming out, you know, whatever. Yeah, like the yeah. Dude, me and my brother thought we were gonna be so cool with that. Lauren's behind us, and uh I didn't realize it had this thing where it said women need to have t-shirts on, you know, over the top. The workers didn't care about Lauren having a t-shirt on. So we saw that happen. But we get out there, and so me and Samuel and my little brother, we're we're going out there, and there's like no crowd. And I was like, all right, this is gonna be good. And it kind of took a second because it was one at a time doing it. Next thing you know, we're like first or second, like about to get on. And next thing I look up and dude, there's just people everywhere. And I look at Lauren and I look at the crowd and I'm like, yep, they're all looking at Lauren. This is this is gonna be hilarious. So Samuel, my little brother, got up there and he actually did five. Everybody, that's another thing. Everybody was doing the weight board, like the you know, you're just laying on it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We were like, no, we waited in this line, we're going straight for real deals. Yeah, yeah. So Samuel, my little brother, gets on there, he does pretty good. He kind of he finally gets it and uh he does all right. I hadn't eaten anything that day. Like I said, that drink package was it was awesome. So I get on there, and dude, I can't feel my legs. So I go to push off. As soon as I push off, my head just goes, wham, right there. I think I don't know what it is, like a trampoline type of deal that's right there, but hit my head, smoked it. Lauren and Samuel said that the workers looked at each other like, probably shouldn't let this guy back on here. And uh, but they let me back on, did the same thing again. I was like, Lauren's screw, there's no way. Dude, she gets on there, rides it longer than dude. The whole half the cruise ships out there like cheering her on. I'm just like, this is dude, nobody has rode it like that. And she so she's going, and then you can tell she's kind of like screwed up because she's going sideways. And then she just completely goes sideways as like a 360 and stuff, and I'm just like, there is no way. Everybody's cheering her on and stuff, and then she finally wipes out. And you could comes up a little bit. Yeah, people are going crazy. He's just he's just hands the crazy. She's really got the crowd.

We've been we've been doing our problem is so we've like I was telling y'all, running the events and getting content for the events is becoming pretty stressful and pretty hard thing to do. So I think we're gonna kind of going here for we're gonna kind of number, kind of lower the number on events that we do personally and start going to other people's events. Just getting content because running an event and getting content at the same time is extremely hard.

Oh, the main so we had called it, I think so my last name's Sheffield. So I think we had like Sheffield outdoors, and I had like a little hunting page going on. So we went out there to Coldwater Rivers, a little river off of Arkabutla in um North Mississippi, and we were riding around, we had we were putting out poles on banks for catfish, and um we had probably a couple too many river shows or whatever, and we had four people, it was a war eagle gladiator, and um we had two people sitting on one side, and then my brother was sitting on the front, and I was driving, and we went around a couple corners, everything was good. Next thing you know, it did this weird thing where it just like I guess the weight distribution in the boat was just kind of off. And I went to turn and it would just propped out, did not grab, did not grab. There's a steep bank, right? I don't know about it's probably what did you say, 10 foot, probably. Oh, yeah. And very washed out really it just never caught, and when it finally caught, it did, and it just shot up this bank. And everything happened slow motion. I don't for me, it did for some reason. So everything's like slow motion falling out of the boat, the boat's coming down like this, and I for some reason I just jump out of the boat and I realize it's only like three foot deep right there. So I step out and just grab the boat like this, and I'm holding it like that to make sure that everybody that was in there didn't come down on top of their head or anything. Yeah, I don't know how it happened so slow motion for me, but they're floating down the river, stuff, yeah, guns, everything just floating all over the place. And I noticed they're all good, so we end up flipping it over. We all kind of like sober up real quick and we're like, oh shit. Yeah, a little adrenaline too. And I was so we were on the way home and I was like, man, dude. It's like we gotta come up with a name. Like, we do a bunch of crazy stuff, fun stuff, and uh we love getting content and stuff. We need to like, you know, but I want it to, I don't want it to be just a hunting group. There's so many hunting things, and we we love the sandbars going to sandbars. So we're fighting over names, um, and finally settled on Rowdy Creek. And um Who came up with a name? I came, it was more of so it's me, my buddy, uh Daniel Williams and Landon Jones, and it was kind of I can't remember exactly who came up with it. I think it was kind of just like we knew we wanted Rowdy in there, and it was gonna be either like Rowdy Timber, Rowdy Creek, Rowdy Slough, something like that. And I've always liked the word creek. Like I've I just like I mean, it goes good, Rowdy Creek. I mean, so that's kind of how it just smooth on your tongue. Yep.

We we cover hunting a little bit, but it's more of just people hanging out, or then we'll do like cookouts, we'll do like friends giving, yeah, just hanging out, you know, shooting skeet. Um about the fellowship. I mean, yeah, group of friends having a good time. I think people really thrive off of that because um people either have that and enjoy seeing it, or it sucks. Some people don't have that and they enjoy seeing that.

So he hooks up a uh Jeff, he hooks up a uh blower to the top of like the garbage bag, like where the beans are in, starts blowing it, and it slipped the where we had it in the bean bag, slipped out, man.
