Sir Edmund Hillary’s Yeti Hunt!

One of Hillary’s forgotten expeditions took place between 1960-61. The Himalayan Scientific & Mountain Expedition. Better known as ‘Silver Hut’ due to the confined cabin the scientists & mountaineers occupied 5,800 metres up a remote Nepalese mountain. The primary goal was to see the long term affect of altitude on human physiology. If acclimatisation could result in climbers reaching the top of mountains without carrying oxygen. 

The other part of ‘Silver Hut’ was what gripped the public. Funded most of the venture. They would have the go proving or disproving if Yeti existed. In between undertaking human tests, climbing. They would go Yeti Hunting!
