Registered Ranching with Tucker Brown
I’m Tucker Brown, a 6th generation cowboy and rancher, and this is where we sit down with the folks who keep the West alive. From cowboys and ranchers to rodeo hands, ag leaders, and storytellers, this podcast is about keeping the ranch in the family and the family in the ranch. You’ll hear honest conversations, a little cowboy humor, and real stories from people who live it every day. My goal is simple: bridge the gap between ranchers and the rest of the world, while preserving the values that make ranching what it is.

Welcome to the Registered Ranching podcast for cowboys humor and a little bit of cowboy wisdom alive. I'm Tucker Brown sharing stories from the ranch and a TikTok every now and then. We're gonna keep the ranch and the family and the family in the ranch. So let's saddle up. Hey, we're saddled up for episode 69 of the registered ranching podcast. Tucker Brown, our special guest, Mr. Dallas, otherwise known as Dally Boy13. And Michael Stevens, of course. Um we just got done. Mike had his first branding today.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that was insane.
SPEAKER_03That was his first one to be at.
SPEAKER_08Insane. No tables involved, just a bunch of dragon and fire, hot steel, cookies.
SPEAKER_02Plenty of cookies, sausage balls, sausage balls, breakfast, sausage, patties.
SPEAKER_08Like they were amazing. And then lunch, stuffed burritos. It was like amazing.
SPEAKER_03It's like Arica has no culture.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no kidding.
SPEAKER_03Good night. We stuffed the burritos.
SPEAKER_00There's no culture like sausage balls.
SPEAKER_03Sausage balls. They were so good. They were so good.
SPEAKER_08Delicious.
SPEAKER_03I've never been to a branding where you get a cigar.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Dude, right when we start this podcast, this truck decides to go and replace it. Welcome to downtown Throckmort.
SPEAKER_08It gets lively out here.
SPEAKER_03You gotta get some work done. Yeah, but I've never been to a branding where you get a cigar at the end. Or a buffer. I mean, it sounded like you guys had Yeah, we did have a buffet. It was a buffet and then a cigar and shout out Ben McCartney and Jalen.
SPEAKER_08Really didn't know what I was doing with that.
SPEAKER_03With what?
SPEAKER_08The cigar.
SPEAKER_03You inhale it? Yeah, you did.
SPEAKER_08I got lightheaded. I was like, I feel like I'm about to float away. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Mike's first cigar, first brand. Oh yeah. Forgot about those. Forgot about those. Well, enough about you, Michael. Yeah. Enough about you. Let's go. Because I need to introduce the man from Mississippi. He travels, wait, from Mississippi by way of Arizona. And somewhere up there like Tennessee or Kentucky or something at some point. But he's found his way to what? Brockmorton? Holy cow!
SPEAKER_01Welcome the new cowboy of the R.A. Brown Rand. Dallas.
SPEAKER_00Thank you guys. Thank you for having me. Texas feels good. I mean, it kind of makes sense. My name's Dallas, so I guess I had to do it at some point.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you get you got close. You don't want to get I mean, yeah, you don't want to get keep your distance. You know, just close enough. Just right over there. Well, welcome to the show, dude. Yeah, thanks for having me. Good to uh good to have you in Throckmorton. I only planned on having you in Throckmorton for a few days.
SPEAKER_00If Tucker Brown ever invites you to be on a podcast, do not do it. Don't do it. Don't do it, because it will absolutely change your life. You'll end up moving to Throckmorton, apparently. So here we go.
SPEAKER_03One out of one times. 100% of the time. Yeah. You moved to Throckmorton.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. I got a call and it just uh I don't know. It I mean, should I go into the whole story or do we Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So obviously, me and Tucker, we've been friends through via social media for a while. Yep, which that's something I really love about social media, is it really does a good job at connecting people who might not know each other otherwise. But anyway, me and you became friends uh a few years ago through social media, and we'd met, I think, was it once or twice met in Vegas for the NFR, and uh just you know, good connection. And you'd mentioned a few times about coming and being on the podcast, and it always kind of just got left in text message. You know, we'd kind of never follow up on it. I was really busy at the place I was at. Obviously, your life is pretty crazy as well. So uh for some reason after this past Vegas trip, we missed each other, and you're like, dude, we gotta get you on the podcast. I'm like, all right. I was running a loader one day, uh filling some gravel in a dump truck, and I just kept thinking about the podcast. And I don't know why, just something was drawing me, like, you need to call him and talk about the podcast. And so uh I texted you that day and I was like, hey dude, let's, you know, what are the details on this podcast? And we ended up getting on a phone call a few days later, and uh I was like, Well, I don't even you're like, Well, how it's gonna work is you fly to Throckmorton, I'll come pick you up, you'll work for you know the weekend, and then we'll have a steak, dinner, and then do the podcast and send you on your way. And I was like, perfect, sounds great. We'll try to plant it around when it works for both of us. And I was like, Well, what's your operation like? I had no idea what the R.A. Brown ranch truly was other than what I saw on social media. So you started kind of running me through your operations and uh how you guys do things, and you've got a stacked crew. And I'm like, man, it sounded like you you got a full crew here. He's like, Well, yeah, you guys were actually kind of we're hiring for a position right now, and if you're interested, I'll throw your you know your hat in the ring. I wasn't looking for a job per se, you know, like I was kind of happy with where I was. I liked being in Arizona. And I was like, you know what? Sure, what's the worst? I mean, I'm not whatever. So you threw my hat in the ring, and uh the next day the job ended up being fulfilled. So you text me right now.
SPEAKER_02Somebody else.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you're like, dude, uh the guy we were looking at ended up taking the position, so unfortunately there's nothing, but I'll keep keep you posted. I'm like, cool. Didn't wasn't any, you know, I didn't care really. Get in that mic. Uh I didn't really told you. Yeah. Yeah, I didn't really care. Is that better? There you go. Swivel, head on swivel. Um, I didn't it didn't really bother me because I wasn't looking. Now, what it did do was uh God had been working on my heart a lot. So I I'd been I'll get into like a little bit more of my God story on how I met Jesus, but essentially what happened was when I left, um I was working at a cell barn in Mirana, and I ended up leaving that cell barn, and I was working at this ranch, and this place was just outside of Wilcox, and it's in between this these this valley, these two mountain ranges, and oh, technical difficulty.
SPEAKER_01What in the world?
SPEAKER_03There we go, we're good, we're fixed. Beep, beep back.
SPEAKER_00Um anyway, I was living right in this in this valley, and it was literally a little slice of heaven. I mean, the most beautiful sunrises, the most beautiful sunsets, uh, just God's country. And I felt like God sent me to that ranch as uh like a consecration, like he was removing me from the world, and literally all I had there was my family, and you know, there was a foreman and then the owner, and that was it, and it was just simple. And it God used that as an opportunity to really get a hold of my heart. So I had spent a year and some change there and got really close with the Lord, and uh, about the same time that we were talking about the podcast, and you mentioned a job and all that, I felt something shift in my spirit, like the season that I was in was kind of coming to an end, and something new was gonna happen. And I felt that throughout my life through different things that I've been a part of and done, and I just felt something was gonna change. And even though I didn't get the job with you or with the R.A. Brown Ranch, it kind of prompted me to start thinking, like, okay, well, that didn't work out, but what do I want my life to look like in the next five to ten years? So uh me and my wife sat down one night and I just kind of asked her, like, let's sit down and write our goals out. You know, I think everybody should do that. I think you should have some clear set goals that you are working towards. Uh, if not like without with lack of vision, you perish, right? Lack of if you don't have a set idea of what you're at least working towards, you're not gonna get anything done. So me and my wife sat down and the Lord brought to mind in James 4 where he says, Many of you say we're gonna go to this town and we're gonna do business here, and then we're gonna leave there and go to this other town and do this and that. He goes, Well, you ought not say that, because you don't know what tomorrow brings. You ought to say, if the Lord wills, we will go here and there. So we wrote down on a piece of paper, if it's God's will, and we wrote down our goals. She's always wanted to be in Texas. I kind of didn't really have a preference on where we lived, but Texas felt right for some reason. We prayed about it. We're like, God, if you want to send us to Texas, let your will be done. But we wrote our goals down. We prayed about it, and we just felt good. Uh the next day, I ended up calling my best friend, Garrett. You didn't call me. Yeah, right. Yeah. FOMO. I ended up calling my best friend Garrett. We've been friends for like 10 years, uh, met in college, and uh we we're kind of like uh keep each other abate on what the Lord's doing in our life. And I said, dude, me and my wife sat down last night and we came up with a five-year plan. He's like, and I think the Lord wants to send us to Texas. Like, that's kind of where we want to go. And he's like, Man, it's crazy. I want to do the same thing. Um He's like, Well, let's pray into it. I'm like, okay. So we on the phone pray into it.
SPEAKER_05Heck yeah.
SPEAKER_00Mind you, this is this prayer is happening three weeks after you had already told me that the job was fulfilled. So some time had gone on, I kind of forgot about R. A. Brown. Me and him pray that prayer, and we're like, I have no avenue into Texas at all. Like, I know Tucker and that's you know a few other guys, but no job opportunity. And like, God, if that's what you want us to do, you'll have to make it happen. And after me and my buddy got off the phone about an hour after that, I get in the truck with Mackenzie and we're gonna drive to town and take our daughter to the park and play. And for some reason, I had got in the truck and I was like, We got good news. She said, What? I said, We're moving to Texas. She said, What? Why? I was like, I don't know. I said, Me and Garrett prayed about it, and I just really feel like the Lord is gonna send us to Texas sooner rather than later. We talk about it on that whole, it's like a 40-minute drive to town. We talk about the what it would be like, the, you know, just start brainstorming what Texas would be like, living in Texas. I kid you not. As we're having that conversation, none other than Donald Brown texts me and says, Hey Dallas, this is Donald Brown from Tucker's dad. Tucker spoke with me and encouraged me to visit with you. How would you like to move the Throckmorton, Texas, and help out on the ranch? As we're talking about, I've been drinking about it. Dude, I was like mind, absolutely mind-blown. Like, this is God, we're moving tomorrow. Back the bag. Heck yeah. And that night we get home, and I text your dad back right away. I didn't know Donald Brown was Donald Brown. Like, he's an extremely busy man, so I'm like, yes, sir, we'll be there tomorrow, you know, just getting excited about it. And uh didn't hear anything back for a few days. Well, that night, naturally, yeah. That night, we uh we get home and I'm like, we're gonna, me and my wife are gonna sit down and watch a movie, and I just could not stop thinking about how we just prayed about it. We got unanswered right when we were talking about it. I'm like, I've got to like praise God right now. Like I can't even watch a movie. So I said, let's just pray about it again. Let's like really soak this whole thing in prayer. Uh so we start praying about it, and I'm like, specifically remember saying, God, hear our prayer. Like, Lord, hear our prayer. We want to do your will for our life. That was the big thing. I didn't want to do what Dallas wanted to do, I wanted to do what God wanted us to do. So we're like, Lord, hear our prayer. As we're praying that, and I have all these text messages and all these messages to prove it, as we're praying that, I get a notification on my phone from a direct message. And I get on my phone and I look at it, and it was a guy who didn't even follow me. And he said, Hey Dallas, I just wanted to, you know, he said, I know you don't know me, but I just wanted to let you know I'm I I appreciate the stand you take for God on your social media. Um he said, I don't know why, but I feel like I need to tell you that God hears your prayers and he's making all the curves in your road straight. Woo!
SPEAKER_03Mike's getting hype, dude.
SPEAKER_00Dude, when I say, like, I read that and I'm like, oh my gosh, my hands are shaking. And it said, Me and my wife and little girl just moved from Ore Valley, Arizona to somewhere in the Midwest for a job. And I text him right back, and I'm like, I told my wife what he'd said, and I was like, dude, thank you so much for sending that. I was like, you don't understand the timing of this. I said, me and my family are going through something similar. And I've just being funny, I told McKenzie, he's like, I bet they're the same age as us. Just being funny. His next response to that message I sent him was I'm 28. Me and my wife have been together for four years, and we have an 18-month-old little girl. I'm 28. Me and my wife have been together for four years, and we have a 17-month-old little girl. So, anyway, we talked. Yeah, Mike's over here about to catch the ghost over here.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Toss me.
SPEAKER_00We started uh, we just were laughing about it. I was running around the house, like, okay, this is clearly God. And I called Garrett the next day and I told him all the stuff had happened. He's like, Well, sounds like it's God to me. He's like, I would just pay attention to the month. Like, pay attention to that month thing. Like, sometimes the Lord, so what I mean by that is my daughter was 17 months, his was 18 months. So there's a month apart. Sometimes God works in the details of things, and the number, you know, he likes numbers. So uh we paid attention to the month, and long story short, the hiring process was a little longer than I expected. Um, and there was a few times where I was on my toes, like, okay, God, am I hearing from you? But essentially through that whole thing, God revealed so much patience that I needed to learn. Like, I I had a patience problem where, like, a little almost entitlement, you know, like I felt like God spoke and it needed to happen right when I wanted it to. And He took that time to really humble me, and I had to go through some hard things and uh kind of face some battles that I was dealing with, you know, in my current situation I was in. And uh, long story short, it was a month to the day from when Donald texted me to the day that I got the call that I ended up getting the job, and uh we did not waste time as soon as we found out we got the job. And mind you, had no idea what this job was. Like, it was kind of one of those things where Donald was like, hey man, like uh the position I was originally going for ended up getting fulfilled, and Donald called me back and's like, hey, there's a chance you this guy might take it, he might not. That guy ended up taking it, which I'm glad he did because he's an amazing guy. Uh but he said, We like we like what we see so much in you, we want to try to create something, and we just want to get you here. So we kind of just took a leap of faith and moved. Uh the hard part about it was that's where my wife's family was, is in Tucson. And, you know, her having to leave that and move to Texas, even though she wanted to. She'd never left Arizona, so it was the first big move of her life. I'm kind of on the other side of the spectrum where as soon as I turned 18, like I hit the road. And I kind of traveled around and did a bunch of different things, and uh my family all now lives in Alabama, uh, my intermediate family, so we're kind of smack dab in the middle between Tucson and and uh Alabama. So anyway, there's no question in my mind this is where God wants us. We're still figuring out the why, you know, still learning why he wanted us here. But I think it's pretty plain to see that whole time, that year that I was kind of by myself with God, some of my biggest prayer was I wanted community. Um because that ranch was so far from town, and I had like good friendships there, but it wasn't like you know good 40 minutes. Right, exactly. Um or two hours to Tucson, so it was kind of rough in that way, but I'd been praying specifically, like I wanted to be plugged into community, and dude, when I say like everybody can tell that the R.A. Brown ranch is very family focused. It's in your slogan, you know, keep the ranch and the family in the or how do you say it? Yep, ranch in the family, family and the family in the ranch, exactly. But to see it up close, I mean I've never seen that type of everybody looking out for one another. You know, from the time we pulled up, Donald Brown, I mean we were getting there late. It should have been like a you know 12, 11-hour drive, but with bathroom brakes and diaper changes and a flat tire, and you know, it ended up being more like 15, so we got here a little late, but Donald Brown was there waiting on us, come and shook our hands and welcomed us to the ranch. And then all the guys came out and started helping us unload boxes. Michael, where me and you met, came out and helped us unload our truck, and he regretted it because we have a lot of junk. Amazon's a heck of a thing. But anyway, that's we're here now. So uh I'm excited to be here at the R. Brown Ranch. I'm proud to say I'm a full-time employee here and Cowboy, and yeah, got a lot to learn from you, you boys. So welcome to Throckmorton, dude. Oh T Relcond to Throckmorton.
SPEAKER_08Dallas.
SPEAKER_03Gonna get Mike fired up, dude. He's yeah, he's not gonna sleep tonight. No, he that's awesome. He's not gonna sleep tonight. So five, um, I mean, for those that don't know Dallas, um did not grow up in the ranching industry. Nope. Not really an ag, huh?
SPEAKER_00I mean, kind of, not really. I mean, uh my so my family backgrounds, you know, I come from a broken family, but God has redeemed a lot of it. Um my stepdad, who has been my father figure since I was about nine years old, he was a lineman, but he also was a team roper. And so he has a a similar story that I did as far as family goes. And the people that raised him, they weren't blood, but they were like his parents, and we called them our grandparents, and they lived five-minute full-wheeler drive down the road, and they had some acreage and some Angus cows, and uh they actually produced team ropings all over the state of Mississippi and Louisiana and helped start the USTRC uh when it was first kind of coming around. So I had, and that's what gave me the bug as a kid. My first job was cleaning horse stalls, you know, for you know, 20 bucks, and I thought I was rich, you know, 10, 11 years old.
SPEAKER_05Yep, okay.
SPEAKER_00Um but so I didn't my dad, I call him my dad, by the way. My dad tried to get me involved in it and tried to teach me to rope and try to teach me all that stuff, but there was a little riff between the the the father figure thing for me. So anything he wanted me to do, I kind of ran from it, you know. Uh and so so no, but I had a taste of it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, had a little bit had a enough to keep it in the old blood. Exactly. So yeah, uh so didn't grow up on a ranch, no sir. Um or ranching, no sir. And then so five years ago. And you didn't really plan on ranching until that long ago either. No. Or you didn't envision yourself ranching. No. Uh in Mississippi. And then whoa, dude, I heard your neck pop through this. Through the mic? Yeah. My bad. Well, you gotta go to chiropractor.
SPEAKER_08I need to get you work on getting those angles today.
SPEAKER_03Uh where was I? Oh. Five years ago, from the statement you said earlier, I'm glad to say I'm a full time employee at the R. A. Brown ranch. Right. Like five years ago. Would you have believed would you have believed that?
SPEAKER_00No. Not I mean, no, not even close. No, I never would have thought that. Uh five Years ago, what was five years ago?
SPEAKER_082021.
SPEAKER_00So 2021, I was living in Mississippi. After, I mean, that's the thing is I've if I sat here and went through like every little avenue where my life has led to this moment, I mean, like everybody, it's very crazy the route I took. Uh, but no, I I was in Mississippi at the time and working construction with my grandfather. I just moved back to Mississippi because I was in California prior. Uh and kind of didn't I didn't like I I've always hated construction. I've never liked it, so I was pretty depressed. And that is how it led to this. I was in Mississippi, I was working for my grandfather, which I love him to death. He's a lot of the reason I am who I am today, especially in my faith. Um in all my grandpa videos are pretty much just me watching him. Um, but I was like, when was I the happiest? Like, what did I love doing growing up? And it was always being around the horses and being around the cattle and being just in that lifestyle, and uh that kind of led me to the idea, okay. Well, how do I get involved into it? Like I'm not getting I called my dad, I was like, hey, I think you want to start doing some cowboy stuff. He's like, Well, you're not getting any younger, you know, if you're gonna do it, you might as well start it now. And so that uh that prompted me to talk to Skylar Golden. Get Western. Get Western, who's been a good friend of mine, and uh he invited me out to Arizona to I was only supposed to be there for like a month, so I brought a bedroll and like a duffel bag of clothes, and a month turned into four years of Arizona living.
SPEAKER_03Dang. You were you were getting into it. I feel was 2021 when Yellowstone came out.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03It was right around that same time. So you jumped in on the bandwagon. Well, I mean, I mean you jumped in when everybody else wanted to. Oh, exactly.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And yeah. And stayed. That's a good point. Never thought about that. Because how how many people did you start with? Like friendships or you know, relationships that you start like, hey, we're going, we're going to ranch, or people did you meet that are no longer doing it.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah, no, you're exactly right. And that's that's the thing. That this is the one of the downsides of social media is you only know what you see.
SPEAKER_07Amen.
SPEAKER_00You you only know what that person posts. And so, even back then, I mean, I'll be the first one to admit I've posted some cringy stuff in my day, but you know, just trying to figure the app out and doing what was what worked, you know, to grow a following. And uh but people saw me start my journey, and I knew nothing. I was like green as green could get. I knew absolutely nothing about cowboying or ranching or anything. Um, and but what social media doesn't show is the type of person I am. When I commit to something, I really see it through. No matter what it's been in my life, I've always seen what I put my mind to. I've seen it come to fruition, or if I realize I don't like it, I move on. But the cowboy thing was I did jump on it the same time as the wave came. But and I've had tons and tons and tons of hate comments throughout the years about, you know, fake cowboy, this Yellowstone, and this, that, and the other, and you know, it'd bother you at first because you're like, man, I wish these people would see my heart. Like, I wish they'd see. I actually want to do good by this industry, and I I love the lifestyle, and uh, but I'm a big believer and the proof is in the pudding, and you know, like you said, here we are four or five years later and still after it.
SPEAKER_03I I like to do this thing sometimes um where after I do like when I'm doing something for that I've been like looking forward to. Um like I remember I uh I did sports announcing for like this is my 13th year doing it. And I I remember the first time I got to call a game in Cowboy Stadium and I was just set there, I was like, dude, my 16-year-old self would be so pumped to know that we're doing this. Yep. Would be so pumped. And then whenever I like if I go speak places or like uh today at the Brandon Pen, or anytime I get anytime I get like these butterflies, I just know that that's like I I feel like that's the Lord being like, Hey, you're right where you're supposed to be. Exactly. And they're good butterflies. Yep. Um, but I get those and I'm like, dude, my younger self would be so I'm pumped right now. My younger self would be so pumped to know this. Yeah. Uh but that's that's awesome that like you you've made it through. Cause it's so hard to start at how old were you when you started 24?
SPEAKER_00See, that was 21, 22, so I was yeah, 23, 24, 24, 24.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that I mean that's so hard to like, hey, I think I'm gonna go ranch.
SPEAKER_00Like knowing what I know now about the cowboy world and how hard it is to really do it and do a decent job at it to where people want to hire you. I would have told my 24 so yeah, maybe try something out.
SPEAKER_03You got a long road ahead of you.
SPEAKER_00It's very, very long road. And I'm not anywhere near, and none of us are, you know. I think we're always gonna be learning something, but I'm not anywhere near where I want to be, but come a long way.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're dang right. Uh this uh want to touch a little bit on the social media side. Yep. Um I should have mentioned at the at the start. Do you know how many I should have looked it up too? What a bad podcast host.
SPEAKER_00How many, what is your following? Um on TikTok, I have over 600,000. Um and you know, I've kind of taken a little bit of a step back from from TikTok just because it's a little different now. It's a little different now, and uh my my time has been so spread out, I haven't had time to focus on all of it, but I've been focusing more on Instagram and trying to grow that, and I'm at like 110, I believe.
SPEAKER_08Yep.
SPEAKER_00110,000.
SPEAKER_08So 110.
SPEAKER_00Um and then I have like five thousand something on YouTube, but that's kind of I just started that recently, but yeah, so and you've I mean it's it's been cool to watch everybody.
SPEAKER_03I mean, it's been cool to watch you from 2021 posting about getting the first job in Arizona and going out there and working at the yard. And I still I still remember the comments like you're still trying to do this. Yeah. I still remember I was like, dude, he is taking the whippins.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Still making it.
SPEAKER_00I truly believe if you're doing something, if whatever you're doing in life, if you're not facing some kind of opposition, you're probably not doing what you should be doing. You know, sometimes God will give you something to do and it's just smooth sailing, but a lot of the times if you're doing something God wants, the enemy is gonna do anything in his power to slow you down or stop you or veer you off.
SPEAKER_08Amen.
SPEAKER_00And hate comments could be a part of that, you know. But yeah, you gotta, and then also, I mean, you gotta take your your your you know, you gotta earn your stripes. So.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, fair. Well, this takes me to one of my favorite segments of the uh podcast. And it's called the Ag Gear Hot Seat. And thanks to Ag Gear, I got an Ag Gear shirt for you to take home today. Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_00Hot dog.
SPEAKER_03Can you sign it for me? Sign it. Sign it for you. We may have well, I'll let you choose afterwards. Oh, me?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I'll sign it for you.
SPEAKER_03Don't worry about it. Yeah. But that's that's the hay bailer. You can uh go online, go to Ag Gear, use discount code Tucker Brown. That's all caps, no space, just Tucker Brown, and uh you get a 15% discount on a shirt like that. Showing up. Like the shirt I'm wearing right now. Showing up. God man, some yes you are. And so AgGear hot seat. So because you're not wearing Ag Gear, the seat might get a little hot. Oh, yeah. Yeah, but Ag Gear, if you were, the AgGear shirt would be keeping you cool, okay? Yeah. Um so we got some we got some questions from the audience. All right, let's hear it. Um tell me a moment tell me about the moment you realize this job ain't like Instagram makes it look.
SPEAKER_00That's a really good question. Um I would say, I mean, there's so many things come to mind right now, it's hard to pick one, but I would say through the cell barn. Like, uh huh. You know, cell barn life is different than like the ranching and cowboy life. Sure. But I mean, I you would know more than me, honestly. Right. Cell barn life was where I was like, holy moly, this is tough. Not because of the I enjoy the work of the cell barn, uh, but it's just the I mean, dude, we would, we would, and I here's the hard thing is I realized it wasn't like what social media or TV made it out to be, but I still loved every second of it. That's the weird thing. It's like I realized there's a difference, but it made me love it more, but it's like the hours. I mean, we would be, you know, we'd start at seven, uh, like on sale day, for example, start at seven, and then you would calves would or cattle would still be coming in to the sale, even up until like th four hours into the sale, and then everything has to run through the ring, and then everything, most things has, you know, it's being shipped out. So you're loading trucks till three, four, five in the morning, watching the sun come up, you know, two days in a row. So that was where I kind of realized like this sitting all just you know, rainbows and butterflies, and it's you know, you're not loading nice, gentle, registered cattle.
SPEAKER_08You're you're working with some of the Mississippian Alabama cattle, as Tucker likes to put it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, these were like Arizona desert cattle that have never seen a human being until they got drugged into a trailer, and then you're the next person they see. Literally, they have never seen a human being until they got roped and drugged and branded in a trailer, and then you're the next one. So uh they've got your number on there, but but I loved every second of it. But yeah, that was a good question.
SPEAKER_03Um what would you tell someone who thinks they want this life? That's a good question.
SPEAKER_00Um I would say be willing to be wrong. Like do not come in with any expectations. The moment you come into this and you're looking like you think you have an idea of what it's gonna be like or what you want, it is nothing like what social media or television makes it look. Um you've got to come in if you've never done it before, with humility and like understanding I know nothing. And I have, you know, because it's at the end of the day, it's dangerous. Like, you know, if you come in thinking you know what's going on, and I mean this people die every day doing this.
SPEAKER_03Um who's the worst dressed guy on the crew?
SPEAKER_07Come on.
SPEAKER_00Oh, skull it over here. Oh my god. Luckily, I edit this. You are the best.
SPEAKER_01This is not clinging there.
SPEAKER_00Actually, it's me. I'm the worst.
SPEAKER_07Mike is so handsome.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Mike is awesome. Oh gosh. Honestly, everybody dresses pretty pretty dang cool.
SPEAKER_03Dang right. Um, are expensive jeans worth it? No.
SPEAKER_01No. That's quick.
SPEAKER_00No, not if you're doing this type of work. No, I mean, there's some, like if you're buying like a raw denim, like made in the USA, yeah, you could spend a little money on that. You know, because there is some truth that you you get what you pay for, but there's a lot of brands out there that have a hefty price tag, and I've worn through them and you know, shredded them, you know, a week or so. So I I I stick with the the 13 MWZs. They're affordable and they are pretty durable.
SPEAKER_03Is I don't know who this one came from.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, just lay it out there.
SPEAKER_03Um is Wrangler the new Levi's?
SPEAKER_00You know what? You're gonna cost me a lot. What I will say for another story? For another I'll I don't I'll dive into it. What I what I see right now, and this goes to any brand, that is what I've noticed about brands, because I work with these brands as an influencer, which I hate that term, but I get to know these brands and I watch them and talk to them and meet with the higher ups of these brands. And I've had a few conversations like this, and my my message to any one of those brands is if you start out as a cowboy brand company and you create product for cowboys, and then a big you know, tidal wave of what would you call it, uh, a fad rolls into town, and say the cowboy culture is the fad for a little bit, and then you cater to the people who don't live the cowboy lifestyle on a daily basis and cater to meet their needs by maybe not making you know the best quality stuff and just kind of whatever you get what I'm saying. What happens, in my opinion, is when those people who are riding this fad out, when the fad changes and the the pendulum swings to the other thing, and all those people stop wearing cowboy boots or stop wearing cowboy hats or stop wearing pearl snaps, yeah. What are you gonna do with the cowboys and the people that have relied on your product for generations? What are you gonna do with those people who have felt marginalized?
SPEAKER_03And maybe left you.
SPEAKER_00And they might have left and moved on. You know, now first world problems, kind of.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, true.
SPEAKER_00You know, it's not a huge deal, and I don't think it's gonna ruin a bunch of brands, but I just see it like well, I mean, it's it is the the Levi's thing is a true story. Yeah, Levi's wear the cowboy jeans. Yeah, 100%. Every and there's still a bunch of Arizona guys I know that only wear Levi's because they stick true to that brand, but I mean Levi's is their branding, is nowhere near you know promoting the cowboy life. Yeah, right. You know, or anything. So I would just say be mindful of that. And I think Wrangler, for example, has done a a pretty decent job at like they still make these shirts that everybody wears, they still make the 13 MWZs, the cowboy cuts. It's just you could start to see a trend of like, okay, well, commercials are changing a little bit, exactly, and um new styles coming out, right? Right.
SPEAKER_03So that would just be my you know, my only concern, but um man, I don't know who this one came from either. Who is your favorite cowboy influencer and why is it Tucker Brown?
SPEAKER_00Uh that is a good question. Why is it Tucker Brown? Probably because he gave me a job.
SPEAKER_03Hey, I didn't give you the job. Like I told you, hey, I'll put your hand in the I'll put your put your name in the hat.
SPEAKER_00That is true. That is true. You I will say I was hoping you would vouch for me a little harder, which I'm sure you, you know, you definitely put my my name in the in the hat, but I had to work for it. It wasn't something that I like the interview process to get on with RA, the R Brown ranch is you know extensive, and after being here for a week and some change, I see why. This is like nothing I've ever experienced or could have imagined what it'd be like. So makes sense.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well, there's that, Gary. Unless Mike has something.
SPEAKER_08Squirrel. Huh? Squirrel.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he put me on the spot. No, you're good if you don't have anything.
unknownYeah. No.
SPEAKER_00Wait, what? We're asking questions?
SPEAKER_08No, no, no, no. You're good.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03No question.
SPEAKER_08He's gonna hold on.
SPEAKER_00This will be edited out.
SPEAKER_08A roll tie. Roll tad?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, roll tie. Uh yeah, there's your ag your hot seat. Go online, use discount code Tucker Brown, all caps, no space. Just Tucker Brown. Get 15% off, baby. Which leads me to one of my favorite segments of the podcast. And this is called What's It Cost. What's It Cost is brought to you by Ambrook. Now, we're as as prices are changing, we're always wondering what does that cost? Typically more, but sometimes ranchers and people in agriculture don't know. Ambrook helps you keep track of that. It's like a QuickBooks, but for agriculture, pretty sweet. I'm subscribed. I am an Ambrook user. This segment brought to you by Ambrook. So we're gonna ask you a couple things. Mike is gonna ask you a couple things, and you're gonna guess what that costs. Ready to go.
SPEAKER_08Alrighty. Let's do it. So a uh pair of More Maker uh pliers. Uh fencing pliers.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know that all too well. Uh-oh. I'm gonna say more makers are about 250 bucks.
SPEAKER_08Uh let's do eight inch. The ones that you can. 150. Okay. 100. 100. Maybe I'm just be getting ripped off in Arizona. You might be. It's the taxes. 99.99 for a pair of those.
SPEAKER_00Um 99.99? So 100 bucks. Okay. For the eight inch. Well, I used the big boy one, so yeah. Made for big boys.
SPEAKER_08The case mini trapper knife.
SPEAKER_00Uh $79.
SPEAKER_08$72. Dang.
SPEAKER_00That's pretty good.
SPEAKER_08That was pretty good. And then we got uh a golden arm and wire stretchers.
SPEAKER_00Oh, those are like $45, $50.
SPEAKER_08$55. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Come on. All right, all right.
SPEAKER_08I thought this was gonna get hard. Okay, okay, hold on.
SPEAKER_03What does it cost to move from Arizona? A lot of money.
SPEAKER_08Let's see. All right. Um Red Brand, uh 13 uh hundred feet of 12 gauge barbed wire.
SPEAKER_00Uh 160 bucks.
SPEAKER_08Dang. 116 dollars. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we almost said it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Arizona's just ripping me off. I think they are. What does a pair? What does a pair of uh Wrangler MW13s cost?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You can find them as little cheap as like 20 bucks, but I'm gonna say most of the time it's like $38. $38.
SPEAKER_08Let's go with a um post driver. $25. $49.90. $49.90 at the end of the day.
SPEAKER_00I will say I very rarely use ones you buy. It's always been one made out of a piece of pipe, something welded on top of it.
SPEAKER_08So uh let's see. Um Southern Edge Um Cal Hide work gloves. Some basic work gloves gloves.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, basic work gloves, you're gonna be $25.
SPEAKER_08$28? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Nice. Have you have you given any medicine since you've been here?
SPEAKER_08Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03What meds?
SPEAKER_00Uh Draxton, uh, Ludalace, or Ludalice, excuse me. Lutal ice. Ludalice. Ludalace.
SPEAKER_08Hey. They'll make finding you for that stuff. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um let's do this. What about uh go in the hotshot? Oh, a hotshot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Hotshot's probably uh I mean, depending on which brand. I mean, there's a bunch of different ones, but I would say Orange Handle. Uh $120.
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_08$117? Yeah. Gosh. Hey.
SPEAKER_00Maybe you'll need to hire me as an accountant.
SPEAKER_03Speaking okay, here we go. For Lutalize. What does it g what does it cost? To give seven CCs of Lutilice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's what we're gonna get me. Seven CC's of Lutolice. Lutolyce. I'm gonna say it's probably ten bucks.
SPEAKER_08I'm gonna say twelve five bucks.
SPEAKER_03Okay. 4.9. That's from Valley Vet. You can find it cheaper. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well that's not bad. I'm I medicine might get me because medicine is expensive.
SPEAKER_03See, this is where Ambrook can help you the most. You don't know what it costs. You get it, you put it in there. This is why it helps the ranch.
SPEAKER_00This is why I'm gonna download it right now.
SPEAKER_03This is why Ambrook, I mean it's you can download it, but you gotta, you gotta. You can use code Tucker Brown. Nah, I wish. But you can go to Ambrook.com slash Tucker and check it out. It's pretty cool. Thanks, Ambrook, for that uh for that segment. Good that was pretty good.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, you kind of killed it. I mean it was the best so far. Him and uh Tucker Teague on the ranks.
SPEAKER_00Yep. I guess you can see who works with their hands. Or has to buy it at least.
SPEAKER_03Uh one of the like you coming from no ranching to four years in, going, I mean, going to Arizona, ranching there for four years and coming to Texas, you've seen a lot of different of a lot of the culture and different culture because I've never really experienced the Arizona culture. But um, B, I want to ask you, what would you give the Phenolio boot? Brought to you by Finolio Boots. Go to the Fort Worth Stockyards, tell them Tucker Brown sent you, and you get a discount. Or go online, use discount code Tucker Brown. That's all caps, no space. And uh you can get a discount on Fanolio Boots. They're made for Cowboys, you know, they don't leave their customer base. Uh they they make them, build them for cowboys.
SPEAKER_00They stay true.
SPEAKER_03They stay true, yeah. Fanolio boots. What would you give? You've you've seen a lot of different culture, you've seen that from the beginning to four years into now. Um, is there anything in there? What would you give the finolio boot?
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's a loaded question. There's many things, but I would say just right off the bat, and I can't, here's the thing is like not everyone's like this, but in general, yeah, it's uh it's uh the guys that are coming into it that are just getting started. I understand now why it's such a risk taking you know taking a risk on these guys because it is dangerous and you're trying to get a job done and you're working handling a lot of money. But I would say if there is somebody interested, don't just you know, don't just write them off. Yeah, give them a chance because there are some guys out there that want to do it bad enough, and if you just give them a chance, give them an opportunity. I think I know there's people out there that could, you know, be successful in this life. So I would say just the I wouldn't even call it gatekeeping, just the lack of opportunity, you know. Um, but then again, I see it from the other guy's perspective. I see it from the guy who you know doesn't really have the time to take on someone who doesn't really like it would be really hard here. Exactly, 100%.
SPEAKER_03It would be really hard to hire like we have the internship program, but there's a little bit of experience there.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Um it would be tough.
SPEAKER_00That's why I tell when I get all DMs, how did you do it? How do I start? I always tell kids start at a place that's gonna be more willing to hire someone who doesn't have much experience, like a cell barn or a feedlot, or you know, something like that. Cell barn specifically, and I've I've said this to many people, and I've made some videos on it. The reason why I say work at a cell barn is multifaceted. When you work at a sale barn, you're getting cattle experience, you're learning how to read cattle. A lot of times you're learning how to spot sick cattle, you know, because you got to notice all these things before they go through a cell ring. Um but one of the biggest attributes of working at a sale barn is the fact that you're getting to network. Everybody in the area is gonna come to that local cell barn to sell their cattle and from far off. And so those guys, those ranchers are seeing you work, they're getting to know you, your name's floating around, and sh, you know, shortly, one way or the other, some opportunity is gonna come up. So I would say if you're looking and you don't have the experience, start at a cell barn because it's a great way to learn quick. Yeah, so I would boot the not giving the attitude, not giving kids an opportunity. And you know, at the same time, you had to learn yourself. You might have got an earlier start, but you had to learn it all too.
SPEAKER_03So we're gonna try something we've never tried before. I don't even know about this. I like this. Do you have do you have a question? If you could ask Donald Brown one question, what would it be?
SPEAKER_00I pretty much asked him everything when we went on our trip. But I would uh Is this specifically for Donald Brown?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um we'll see if he listens to the pod. Yeah, let's see if he's the first time. Oh, is this what is this? This is your test, DB. Are you listening? Uh I think one of my favorite questions I asked him was like, How do you do it? That man has got numbers in his head, constantly busy, constantly on the phone, uh making just different moves all the time. How do you do it? How do you focus on time management? Like that was my big thing. Like, how do you handle your time management, you know, and then save time for your family, and then save, you know, most importantly, your faith. You know, um, yeah. I mean, uh he's a freak of nature.
SPEAKER_08He is, it's impressive to watch pretty well.
SPEAKER_03If uh if you had the opportunity to ask him.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we're doing it right now.
SPEAKER_03Well, hello hello, Donald Brown. Welcome to the Registered Ranching Podcast.
SPEAKER_09Well, I'd be on there with you guys.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so hey, we've we've uh this new segment is called What Would You Ask Donald Brown? And uh Yeah, so so we I asked Dallas what's a question he would ask you, and what was it, Dallas?
SPEAKER_00Well, I I'm in after getting to know you for this you know week and some change now and watching you work and watch you and your element, my biggest question is to a young guy like myself who's you know learning a lot about this industry and figuring out life stuff. How do you manage your time so well? How do you keep everything in order and capitalize on a day to have a successful day while managing time for your family and friends and your faith and keeping a successful business running?
SPEAKER_03Easy question, right?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, oh easy, easy question. Yeah, real easy. Did he ask you that question too, Doctor Brown?
SPEAKER_03Uh well, I mean, maybe off the air, but he's gonna have to answer that too. How would you answer that question in a in in a in a podcast form?
SPEAKER_09In a podcast form?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, in the segment form.
SPEAKER_09In the segment form, uh it takes a lot of intention. And I used to pray to get more sleep, and now I just pray that the the rest I get be sufficient for the day ahead.
SPEAKER_00There you go.
SPEAKER_09And try to be as organized as I can and realize that as spread as I thin myself, as thin as I spread myself, I really don't get I don't get any of those things done a hundred percent like I want. So I do the best I can.
SPEAKER_00There you have it. Well, I sure appreciate it. I I want to let you know everybody that works for you knows you're a hard-working man, and I I think you give yourself a little bit of credit because you get a lot of stuff done in a day.
SPEAKER_03That's right. You got more than 24 hours in a day, Donald Brown. Yeah, yeah, Donald has 30 seconds. Yeah, yeah. I'll call you after the podcast, is that all right?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, sounds great. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03Yep, bye.
unknownBye.
SPEAKER_03He texted me or he tried calling me earlier.
SPEAKER_08Oh that's funny. I I kind of dig that. That was nice. Yeah, that was a good one. That was a good one.
SPEAKER_00If I knew you were gonna call him, I would have asked him something probably not as not as deep.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not as deep.
SPEAKER_08What's your favorite ice cream?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like have you tried that salmon-flavored ice cream? Uh what? Salmon flavored.
SPEAKER_08No. It's gonna be a joke.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's a joke. I just tried to think of the two things that like don't go together. Oh, okay. Salmon and ice cream bird.
SPEAKER_07Oh, but speaking of Tabasco and vanilla. It's redneck.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm so serious. No, good stuff. We need to get you back in the sticks down there in Alabama. Yeah. Where the catfish are thick. Gosh, don't oh, can't wait for Friday. Friday afternoons. Throckmorton is heavy on the catfish. Have you had OCs yet? I haven't had OC's, but I've had it over there at Fowler's. You gotta have OCs.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Normally every Friday at lunch we go to OC's.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's where I'm going Friday.
SPEAKER_08Wait, she's doing catfish?
SPEAKER_03No, I'm not talking about catfish, just OCs. Oh. Where were you talking about? He was talking. I'm going where the catfish is. Well, that's Friday evening. That's Friday evening. You got Friday lunch.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. I do want to try the taco place. I haven't tried that. That's OC's. So OC, yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's good.
SPEAKER_00I've I've been I've been hovering around Frowlers for like a week every day. I'm like, gosh, this stuff is good. They have fried ochre. See, that's the thing I miss about being because this is the South, you know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08No joke. Oh, God.
SPEAKER_00I've missed some good southern food. Yeah. But yeah, I've been heavy on the fried ochre. Have you tried the jalapeno bun yet? Dude, two days in a row. It's good. Two days in a row. I tried to get Diego on it today, but he's like, I'm just gonna stick with the regular bun. Diego wouldn't do it. But we did get jalapenos on the burger. Oh. But not the jalapeno bun. I did both.
SPEAKER_03Double down. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Double down with them jalapenos.
SPEAKER_03You gotta. Yeah, it's so good. This break this segment brought to you by Power.
SPEAKER_00Please give me a free lunch. I'm keeping them in business at this point. I know it. Yeah. Gosh, that's so funny.
SPEAKER_03Well, what do you see? Uh what's been different? Well, I mean, you didn't really know what to expect coming to the job.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Uh have you have you had any. How long have you been here?
SPEAKER_00It's I got here on the 25th, so it's today's 8th. So it's been I can't count that high. Yeah, me either. I see Mississippi's kicking in. It's been a few days. It's been a few days. It's been like three months.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we've had some long days since you've been here. Yeah. But what have uh what have been some of the few firsts for you since you've been here?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's a good question. Um I had no experience with registered cattle at all. Um I've only worked commercial cattle. So uh just everything from like when when place I was at would buy bulls, obviously they look at the EPDs and all that, but I never had to focus on that on my daily basis, daily job. So being in a place that is highly focused on things like EPDs, genetics, AI, uh it's it is like taking me from everything I thought I knew about ranching and cattle. It's just like I've turned over a new page and this is a whole nother book. It's not even, you know, there's obviously some similarities like reading cattle and noticing a cattle handling and cattle handling, horse, you know, stuff like horsemanship, horsemanship, all that, you know, translates over. But here it's just the it's almost like we're doing science every day. Oh, yeah. It's like science class. It's science and uh setting those heifers up for AI and dude. We were putting in uh cedars today. Yeah, like first time I've done that, and just learning the process on why we do it and how you know how that process works. So to me, that's been something that is new, and it's also been a little intimidating because I feel like a fish out of water, but I love it. It gives me a new challenge, it's something I can work towards and learn. So it's been good.
SPEAKER_03Dude, it is a sign. I love the uh I always tell people I love the combination, or like the ranch finds itself at its best whenever we combine technology and tradition. And so, like the perfect picture I can paint of that is that we're about to do ovum pickup. Like we're gonna have our very best cows and we're gonna pull um oocytes out of their ovary. Like they're not even fertilized, they haven't even released them out of their ovary, and we are going to collect them out of their ovary and then use in vitro fertilization to use the very best bull with the very best cow.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And to do go get those cows, we're gonna go up and we're gonna saddle up, yeah, and we're gonna make a circle in the pasture, we're gonna bring them up. And that tradition technology combination, I think, is what like one of my favorite parts of the job.
SPEAKER_00And that's what I've noticed about this place is you know, obviously through the in the interview process, there is a lot of talk of like, this isn't probably what you're used to. It's gonna be different. Are you okay with that? Because there are long days by the chute. There are, you know, it's not just the wild, wild west anymore where you're going out and roping yearlands or doing all this crazy chasing wild cattle, but the traditions that we all love are still here. You guys do gather horseback. I mean, I've saddled every morning since I've been here. Uh, and we got to rope a calf today to put, you know, an ear tag in. So there are opportunities, not like it's just a you know ATV operation where you're not getting to enjoy the horseback experience, but uh knowing why you guys do it, I'd see why. Like they're just it's just different. You know, so it absolutely is.
SPEAKER_03Uh this is a different part of the podcast where it gets to become the Dally Boy 13 podcast. And you get to ask Mike or I, and I a question. Welcome to the Dally Boy Podcast, and you may call it something different. Welcome to the Cowpoke, what'd you call it?
SPEAKER_00No, that's that was the whole thing I was.
SPEAKER_03We won't bring that up.
SPEAKER_00Uh we won't bring that up. Oh, you're just gonna bite me in the butt.
SPEAKER_08People are gonna start digging now. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh anyway. Um, yeah, so welcome to my podcast, gentlemen. I want to thank you guys for joining me here today. Thank you. Um wow, you have a crowd. Wow. God. Uh yeah, uh my questions uh are gonna be. Uh I'm gonna start with with my good man here. Mr. M.
SPEAKER_08Oh.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Yes, sir. Oh, we were scrolling through his phone.
SPEAKER_08No, he was playing with some hair.
SPEAKER_00Uh okay. Uh man, uh you're a good old boy from down there in Bama. South.
SPEAKER_08LA.
SPEAKER_00That lower Alabama.
SPEAKER_03That's right. Middle James. Yeah, you're about to start speaking a different language.
SPEAKER_00You go down there and get that frog legs night. Oh, yeah. Don't you know? Some hush puppies. Um man, what has been what is God teaching you right now? Ooh.
SPEAKER_08What is he not teaching me? Um, I'm always learning a lesson from him. Uh you don't get to ask the question. Right now.
SPEAKER_00You're not the host. Yeah, hello. This is Dally Boy Show now. Welcome to my world.
SPEAKER_08Wait, didn't you just ask me a question?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what is God teaching me?
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah. Yeah. Teaching me a lot of things. Right now, um, I'd say what's what's um dang, there's just so many. Probably um. I'm just trying to think of like one. Um just, you know, uh representing him each and every day to the best of my ability, I'd say. You know, um, because it's always so easy to to uh just fit into a mold and just carry on your day. I mean, but right now for probably start of this year, um I like I had some goals for this year. And one of them was to represent him better and to honor him, glorify him in everything I do. And so that's that's what I'm I'm trying to do.
SPEAKER_00Love it. Well, since I've met you, I mean I think you've done a pretty dang good job at I appreciate it, you know, being Christlike and just from the day you helped us unload all those boxes to fishing with the other day, ripping some lips.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh you've shown some pretty outstanding character and I appreciate that. Starting a Bible study here coming up.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00So we got one, yeah. Uh it's been great to get to know you. So I I think I think you're doing that very well.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't hire just anybody.
SPEAKER_00That's right. Yeah, you can't have a bunch of thugs running around. Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_08God is good. Show enough. God is good.
SPEAKER_00Show enough. Um, all right. So, Mr. Tucker Brown, um my question for you is let's say that's a good question.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, this is gonna be a good one. I'm gonna look through my notes here. Oh, he comes from haired, man. Like that? Oh yeah. I think you like that more than any other things. Um God, we gave you so much time to prepare for this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I've got him written down. When was that? We gotta get to all these uh EPD notes that have been taken from your dad. Good lord.
SPEAKER_03Uh dang, when was that? Was that? Was that February that we talked on the phone?
SPEAKER_00February. Wow. That's that's a good question. I'll go there. How has it been, like, what is your perspective on the other side of my story of me coming to the R Brown ranch? How has it been being Tucker Brown in your shoes seeing it all unfold? From the story you know my end to like what you saw.
SPEAKER_03Um first impressions. Dang, he's good at social media. Check that off the box. Love the grandpa skits. Grandpa Skits. I was like, dang, I want boots.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Now I got them. Mm-hmm. Um, and then I mean I was it was very similar. Like, I love it whenever people went in and they are willing. Like the first step is always willing to move, because rarely, rarely, rarely are you gonna find a spot in your hometown.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. In your especially in Mississippi or Alabama.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Man, like just just rarely are you ever gonna get that spot where they're gonna teach you and as as an adult. Exactly. And so anytime anybody's willing to move, it already checks a box of like they are they they have some skin in the game now. They're not just sitting at home working, you know, pouring concrete, and then on the weekends wanting to go to a Brandon. Right. We all want to do that. Exactly. Not pour concrete, but we all want to go to a Brandon. But uh whenever you whenever you pick up from Mississippi and move to move to the West, I was like, oh, he's got some skin in the game.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03And then I remember being like a little bit jealous of the way that you were able to communicate your story with your followers and how well people were or like how many people wanted to follow that story.
SPEAKER_06Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Because but way more people I think connect to your story than they will ever connect to mine. Right. And not because of who I am, but just the like where I was born.
SPEAKER_00Sixth generation. No, I see where I see where you're coming from. There's more people probably in my shoes than who are in yours.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah, way more. Like your your story of making it and connecting it and making it happen is like a like to them, they're like, well, I could do I could do that.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. I can do that then.
SPEAKER_03But then whenever they see mine, they're like, oh, it's just sixth generation ranters. Who is giving to who? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00He'd have to work a day in his life. It's not true. I've seen you.
SPEAKER_01I bet he gets a new truck all the time.
SPEAKER_03I just got my first one guys.
SPEAKER_08Well, it's like nine years.
SPEAKER_03Nine years. I had to work nine years and then I got my first new truck.
SPEAKER_00After everybody else. I've only been here a week and he's over driving 2020. Yeah, I'm like, 26. 26.
SPEAKER_0827.
SPEAKER_00He worked really hard making a bunch of videos.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that was mine. And then whenever you left, like you were you were checking the boxes. Like you made it to I you did what I tell everybody else to do. And I always say, go to a feed yard because there will always be a job and you will see everything really fast. And then you'll get to know somebody, and when a job comes open, they will find you. Right. Normally I say stay at the feed yard two years. If you do that, you'll find a ranch job. Yes. That's a good job. Took you a year. Flex. Okay. Yeah. And he goes, Yep. Just a year. Yeah. Then you get then you get either get to do some day work, uh, but that's like getting your name in the box, your your name in the ring, right? Your name in the hat.
SPEAKER_06Exactly.
SPEAKER_03And so you just like kept following that trail. Um I don't know. And then you I thought it was cool when you changed your what I saw on social from uh like it was a everybody's social is about you. Like it was about you and your clothes, and then it turned to you and your horse, and turned to you and putting Ferra P's on a calf with your with your wife and kid. And then it changed from you doing that to being like, look, I carry this Bible in my pocket all the time. And how could you be scrolling social media? Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_08Show 'em. Show them that good word. Pull the sword out. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Pull the sword out. And then it's uh how I remember your video of like, how could you be scrolling and scrolling when you could be talking to the creator of the universe? I was like, oh, that's powerful. And then I went to watch some of your grandpa videos. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. Just deepened the brain rot. Yeah, so that that's been my side. Um I mean, from by then I'd met you at Vegas. I mean, normally your reputation follows you.
SPEAKER_00And uh whenever you meet somebody, like you see them on social, met you in Vegas, knew people that knew you, and like never heard a lot of times you could meet somebody that you've looked up to social media-wise or anything, and then you went the person you meet is different than who you thought.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Which is a shame. Yeah. But um yeah, you weren't. And then no nobody that I ever talked to had a bad word to say about you. And I always think if you can you can find the right person, it always fits the ranch well, depending on the job. But a lot of times, if you can find the right person, we can get you to do the job. Good point. The form and position is a little different, right?
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03But there's a lot of jobs here that if we can find the right person, we can get you to do the job.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, he's just plugging in. Oh. Is it dead? Yeah, it's done. Oh. Here we go. Get me back on there. But that's what that's what that's been my side of the story.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Seeing that. Uh which has been cool. Because a lot of times I feel like they're even on social media with the people that I started with, there aren't very many of them still doing it.
SPEAKER_00No, we kind of had that conversation the other day when we were, you know, gathering some cows. It's like, how many people that we all knew started started in this world are still actively pursuing it? And just in that answer, like, first of all, I appreciate all that. Like, that means the world to me that uh that whatever I'm producing on social media has portrayed that I'm in it for the long haul. Uh I actually care about this industry, I care about this lifestyle, and um I knew that always deep inside, but now I think I'm able to prove it, if you will. Uh but there's some things you said in that that were important. One, like going back to like how I got the job networking. It's like everybody in this industry talks.
SPEAKER_03Everybody.
SPEAKER_00Everybody knows everybody, and first impressions are everything. And if you you know meet this person and you know, they don't you don't have a good experience with them, like somewhere down the line it's gonna get back to you. And not to say that's gonna throw you out of the ring all you know altogether, because if God's if it's God's plan, it's gonna happen. But and that is my second point to all that is everything that I've done in my life, from getting a job at the cell barn, which led me to a job at a ranch, which eventually led me here. Um, I can't say throughout my whole life I've been extremely devoted to God. Uh my testimony is like most of ours, is all just ups and downs, highs and lows, peaks and valleys. And I want everybody to know on the podcast, in the podcast world, like that's okay. You are not, you're not alone in that. You know, our relationship with God, there's times where we're extremely on fire for God, and God is moving in our life, and we're seeing great things happen, and then there's times where we feel a disconnect or we feel withdrawal withdrawal, and it brings us to this low, and it really is how you respond to it. So um I have not always been on fire for God, but in the past year, two years, well, it's been longer than that, but really the past two years, God is uh it was the birth of my daughter, really. I mean, that's what it boiled down to. Is I lived this crazy life and partied and ran around and did everything I wanted to do, lived the fun side of the cowboy life of, you know, just getting rowdy and drinking and having fun. And then when my daughter was born and I saw that little girl for the first time and held her in my arms, everything that I had heard about God, about how much he loves us and how good of a God he is, and how he's our father and all that stuff, when I saw that little baby, and knowing what I felt inside of me, if I was like, if I can feel this way about her, how much more does God feel this about me? And then it all clicked. It's like all that came together, it's like, oh my goodness. And then my life stopped being about myself and started being about my family. And uh anyway, God lit me on fire for him, and then he convicted me one day. I was out fixing a water line, and middle of this pasture had no phone service, which is great. I didn't have any, no distraction, just me and God. And uh He clear as day said, I've given you a platform, what have you done with it? I just stopped me. I was working on this water line, I've given you a platform, what have you done with it? And I just stopped. And I'm like, I hadn't done nothing for the Lord. It's all been it's all been selfishness, it's all been self-indulgence and growing Dallas and making my name bigger. And I said, you know what? Like, when it comes to this life, we're here on this earth, I mean, just a moment. And it's so hard for young guys and young girls to understand that, but it's like, man, we are here for literally just a moment, and we have all of eternity ahead of us. What's gonna matter the most? Is it gonna be that you pursued this job and you, you know, became a cowboy? Is it gonna be, you know, you are a successful business owner, whatever it is, or is it gonna be that I did the will of my father? I did God's will for my life. And the funny thing is, is if you if you pursue God's will for your life, you'll always end up doing what satisfies you. I 100% believe that. If you try to do what you think you want to do and you make that your world, it's gonna leave you dry. It's gonna leave you thirsty, it's gonna leave you empty. But if you do what God wants for your life, you're gonna be fulfilled, you're gonna be satisfied. It's not always gonna be easy. You're gonna have to do some hard things.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but man, I don't remember where it says it um in scripture, but it it says um like follow uh what is it? It's something in the form of um like seek me and I will show you the joys of your heart.
SPEAKER_08Or the the seek ye first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness and all this will be added unto you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, then will be the same. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I gotta look this up. Great.
SPEAKER_08It's gonna um but yeah, I wholeheartedly agree. I think the world glorifies, you know, that fast life, you know, women, money, all this dopamine-filled stuff, and there's everyone's born with a hole. Yeah. And we go on this journey, aka life, looking to fill that hole. And eventually you find out that the permanent filler for that hole is Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_03That's it. Got a God-shaped hole in your heart that you can't fill with anything else.
SPEAKER_00That's right. Well, I mean, if you think about it, we were created to worship. We were created to worship God through the fall and the garden and everything. We chose sin. We chose to run away from God.
SPEAKER_05Yep.
SPEAKER_00And so we're still created to worship something. And if you don't worship God, you will worship something else. Something else. And that something else that you worship will always leave you empty. And until one, you're born again, and you're spiritually dead if you don't know Jesus and you're not born again. And once you become born again and your spirit comes alive, it's like game changer. Your whole world changes. And then you could walk through the fire, you could walk through trials, and like James says, consider joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
SPEAKER_03My favorite.
SPEAKER_00And endurance having its effect, you'll be lacking nothing. And it my favorite verse in the whole Bible if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously without reproach to all who ask. If you lack wisdom, ask God, and he'll give you wisdom. Like that is so crazy to me that that's one of the only things that I can recall in the Bible that says if you ask this of God, he will give it to you. You know what I'm saying? Wisdom. And I've, you know, I'm not saying I'm wise by any means, but I I cling to that verse, you know. Um, but anyway, yeah. I found it. I found it.
SPEAKER_03What is it?
SPEAKER_00That's it.
SPEAKER_03Psalms 37, 4. I don't want to take away from what you just said.
SPEAKER_00No, no, we'll we'll dive into all of that.
SPEAKER_03That was really good. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Delight yourself in the Lord.
unknownThe devil's trying to do something right now.
SPEAKER_03He sure is. The enemy's trying to take away.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, because charges in there.
SPEAKER_00Golly. Don't you just hate the devil? Come on, Mike. Shame the devil.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, don't shame me.
SPEAKER_00That's all I can throw one of these new ones in.
SPEAKER_03No, that was that was one of my uh I always say that to like I remember not knowing, like in college, not knowing what I wanted to do. Or like in, oh, what are you gonna- you're about to graduate, what are you gonna do? And uh a guy said, uh, I said I didn't know, and he was like, seek the Lord and he'll show you the desires of your heart. And you were you were saying something like that just a second ago, like whenever you seek him, you will how'd you say it?
SPEAKER_00When you when you pursue God and you're seeking God's will for your life, it is your desire, it will lead you to your true desires of your heart, what truly satisfies you. Yeah, yeah, you know. Um but yeah, that's the thing, is um I I started when people would ask me all the time, how do I be a cowboy? How do I be a cowboy? How do I get into ranching? And I I know that there's people that really want to do it, and that's what they're called to do, but I stopped giving them the step-by-step on how I did it. And I was like, man, pray. Ask God. Ask God what His will for your life is because that's what brung me here. Right. Exactly. I mean, it was the same deal with you coming here. It's like a God thing that just right time, right moment.
SPEAKER_08It was weird, it was it you can only say it was God.
SPEAKER_00Now, here's the thing, and this is a good example from what I did, what you did, and I'm sure these there's been moments like this in your life, is when God speaks to you and gives you an opportunity, he's not gonna force you into it. No, you have got to respond to it. Yeah, you've got to take that step, you've got to take a leap of faith. You know, he's not gonna, I mean, he can. I'm not gonna speak for God. He can push you into something and like want you to do it, but a lot of times God gives you an invitation. He gives you an invitation into salvation, he gives you an invitation into your calling, gives you an invitation into blessing somebody else. He's not gonna make you do anything, it's how do you do you respond to it in obedience or fear or rebellion?
SPEAKER_08You know, yeah, it was when I first met Tucker and uh met Willie and stuff, I was like, man, that's a pretty you know, Tucker's pretty cool, that's pretty cool thing they got going on, and it always stuck with me. And then I just prayed um after a situation and prayed and just like, what do I do now? Lord, like you know, um, what do you have for me now? Like, what am I designed for? And sure enough, old Wardle text me and said, Hey, Tucker, what's your number? I was exactly really as it yeah, and I was like, All right, well, dude, I I don't see like same thing with my story of like him inviting me to a podcast, and I I like I dude, I honestly can be honest with you, I didn't think I was gonna be able to come out here and do a podcast.
SPEAKER_00Just because just because of how big, dude. I wasn't coming. Not because I didn't want to, it's because I was so hate spending my time on this podcast.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna call him on his daughters in the hospital, make it feel better.
SPEAKER_00But I didn't know if I was gonna be able to make this podcast because of how busy I was, you know. It would have been tough, dude. It would have been hard.
SPEAKER_03Leaving a family or bringing your family would have been expensive.
SPEAKER_00It would have been so hard, and our baby, you know, she's little, and you know, I didn't it was just gonna be a a hassle. But for some reason, like you're saying, God put that little nudge in my heart where it's just like those butterflies you're saying, I just felt something like a little nerd. There's something on this deal, and uh I think something special is not only happening at the RA Brown Ranch, but I think in Throckmorton. Come on.
SPEAKER_07I think something big something big is coming to old Throckmorton. This community is phenomenal.
SPEAKER_00Sure is. Churches are amazing, and uh, but yeah, so dude, this is this is my biggest passion, and I want everybody to know this. Whoever listened to this podcast out there in the world, like tell them, yeah, you folks sitting right there listening to this, like God is like this is what I love, this is what I'm passionate about. And I have stepped away from kind of the normal social media stuff I've done just because it's like, man, what's the state of the world? I mean, look at everything going on, you know. It's like there's so many hopeless people out there and countries divided, and you know, there's wars going on, and there's all kind of chaosity. Yep, evil. Or chaos. Is chaosity a word? I was gonna ask. It's chaosity a word. I didn't know.
SPEAKER_08Hey, that's an that's a word where we're from. That's understanding.
SPEAKER_00Hey, there's a bunch of chaosity out there.
SPEAKER_08That's right.
SPEAKER_00I I better have a voicemail of my grandpa saying chaosity. But there's chaos all over this world, and it's like, man, we gotta, we gotta focus on the Lord. And um anyway, but at the same time, he has given us, you know, the opportunities in front of us, which is feeding America and doing some good cowboy work, and we're shepherds, and I think shepherds are close to God's heart, you know. I think he I think it's important. So yeah.
SPEAKER_03Any advice for if uh if someone's trying to uh know that next step to grow their faith or to start their faith. If they want to meet Jesus, they I mean hopefully meet Jesus one day, but they they they want to be introduced to Jesus here on earth.
SPEAKER_00Right. Well, I would say this like there's a bunch of misconceptions about who God is. Um, and a lot of it you could have misconceptions from you know your earthly father, you kind of view God in the same way you view your earthly father, or you could just you've gone to a church that has you know been really harsh and kind of you know given you a sour taste in your mouth about Jesus. Uh, but I will say the number one thing that you've got to realize is like you've got to get in the Bible, you've got to get in the word of God. Uh if you believe in God, he says that his word is an error, meaning that there's no error in this, and you know, people can argue, oh, it was written by man, it was you know changed over. There's so much history and science, like through the Dead Sea Scrolls and other artifacts that have proven the accuracy of the Bible. But anyway, it takes faith. But I would say the number one step is to get into the Word of God and read it for yourself. Having people explain it to you is important, but God does amazing work when it's just you and Him in the Word. I would say also is no matter what you have done in your life, no matter how bad of a person you have been, if we laid all my sins out on this table right now, every single one of us would get up and leave in disgust. Because I'm a dirty, rotten human.
SPEAKER_08Wretched sinner.
SPEAKER_00We are but Jesus paid. He doesn't leave you in that. And there is forgiveness and there is redemption for literally the worst sins. You look at the the some of the strongest characters in the Bible, David fell into adultery. Dang murdered, yeah. Sucker killed his best friend so that he could have that woman. God redeemed him. Paul, who is the greatest evangelist to ever walk this earth and preacher, literally murdered Christians in the streets and loved it.
SPEAKER_08Enjoyed it and mocked mocked God.
SPEAKER_00And just like this light in my face right now, Paul was walking down that road to Damascus and and God changed his life. So my point in that is this is no matter what you've experienced, what you've gone through in your life, there is redemption and there's grace for you. But you've got to repent. You've got to acknowledge that I am a sinner and I am in need of a savior. And the Bible says, if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. Amen. And also just know it's not an overnight like transformation. It's a process called sanctification, where it's a daily choosing Jesus. Amen. Because our flesh hates God. It does. As long as we're in this body that we're in on this earth, we're going to try to rebel against God. That's why the Bible, over and over, Jesus says, deny yourself, take up your cross, follow me, crucify your flesh. You were dead with Christ. You've got to tell your flesh, no, I'm not going to do the desires that my flesh wants. I'm going to pursue God. Um, and I can get pretty heady on all this stuff. It can be a lot more simple than that, but it's a daily walk. It's I'm gonna wake up this morning and I'm gonna choose Jesus. I'm gonna choose to get in my Bible. It's not just every morning I'm like, oh yes, I can do my Bible and just get in it.
SPEAKER_08It's like some days it's a uh I don't want to do this. Let me open up TikTok real quick.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. A hundred percent. And you've got to push through it. And I believe that's where the Lord meets you the most.
SPEAKER_08So yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's a long-winded answer, and I know I do that a lot, but get on a roll. Uh preach it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Ain't nothing wrong with that. Start, I would say start off in Matthew too, when you go to read for the first time. Start in Matthew. Start in Matthew and not Numbers. Yeah. No, Ecclesiastes? Not Ecclesiastes. No, Matthew. And start Christ and his life.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Anywhere in the New Testament, but specifically the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John, like that's a great place to start reading the Bible. And uh yeah. I will keep us here all night talking about.
SPEAKER_08God is good all the time.
SPEAKER_03All right. Imagine being one of those other disciples that didn't get a book in the Bible.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03You think they're a little mad?
SPEAKER_00Probably not right now. I bet they're up there in heaven. Thank God I made it. Thank God I've made it.
SPEAKER_08Time of their life. Right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Is um oh there's one of my favorite. I want to touch on social media before we leave.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_03Uh but before we start, there's my there's one of my favorite YouTube, YouTube, one of my favorite reels or TikToks is uh by some British British guys. And uh there it's oh yes, it's when Jesus comes back and he's like they don't know it's him, and there's four, it's just uh I don't even remember which ones it is, but there's four um disciples, four disciples standing there, and like oh Jesus. Man, I can't believe Jesus is gone, dude. That's so sad. And the guy walks up and is like, hey, he's like, Man, it smells like up Jesus in here. Yeah, and they said, What's up, Jesus?
SPEAKER_01And he pulls off his hat and he's like, Well, not much what's up with you, and they're like, Oh, it's great! Oh Jesus!
SPEAKER_03And then and then Jesus looks at the guy in the end and they're like all hyped, and he goes, Judas. Like the last guy was Judas, and he's like, Oh, oh, he's back. All right, it's like my favorite one.
SPEAKER_08I love that's a great, great one.
SPEAKER_03I hadn't seen that one. I'll have to show you after this. Uh, but social media, you've you've got a lot of these followers, you've used it in multiple different ways. Advice for anyone who wants to. Or what's your favorite thing about social media? Let's start there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, your favorite thing about social media is I mean, just we have got an opportunity to connect with people that we would have never connected with otherwise. That's the biggest thing. You know, there's benefits that come with social media uh as an influencer, but I think my favorite thing is just man, being able to have a relationship through social media with people that are across the world, across the country, you know, get jobs, you know, whatever it is. So I think that's probably it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Okay, and then and uh oh least favorite part.
SPEAKER_00Least favorite part is probably just it is it can easily become such a decesible of content, of debauchery, uh hate comments, you know, people just hiding behind those you know, keyboard warriors, just you know. Um I'd say that's probably my my least favorite. It can get pretty toxic.
SPEAKER_03What'd you bring? Microphone rhymes. Can't take you anywhere.
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, that's true. That's why I'm that's literally why I'm not on Twitter.
SPEAKER_08This doesn't go with it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I would never get on Twitter.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, Twitter's insane.
SPEAKER_00But I mean, dude, Facebook can be just as bad.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Facebook is where the most hate comments I get are.
SPEAKER_00Facebook and um like TikTok wasn't really that bad, but it was. I mean, but Facebook, them old guys back there are just boy, they get mad, don't they?
SPEAKER_08They get fired up so easy.
SPEAKER_00They get mad especially when you put a filter on your face and you're acting like an old man did on your phone.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yes, there's the one on his phone.
SPEAKER_03So that makes me laugh all the time seeing those. Okay, advice for someone wanting to get into social media.
SPEAKER_00Uh I would say uh have thick skin. You know, you're gonna get hate comments, you're gonna get people that don't agree with what you're doing. Um, but you've kind of similar to what we talked about in the very beginning of this deal, just having life goals, like have a goal for yourself on what you want your social media to be. You don't necessarily have to stick with that goal of what type of content you want to do because mine has changed tremendously since I started. Uh, but I would say use it for good uh to bless people, but uh consistency. That's that's the best advice. It's like if you're consistent and you're producing decent content, you're gonna eventually you know ride that wave and it's gonna it's gonna catch. But those would be my my advice. And then also like set boundaries for yourself because it's easy to get in the in the swirl of like that kind of becomes your life. And uh make sure you have a healthy relationship with your phone, don't give all your time to it.
SPEAKER_03I've heard Dale say, like, I run social media, but sometimes it runs me.
SPEAKER_00Especially when you get a video that's just popping off going viral, it is so easy just to camp on it and just watch it and like oh it's doing good, it's doing good. Um and at the end of the day, like yeah, it's cool, it's just a big dopamine rush, but there's it's not adding any eternal value in your life. Ooh, preach.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, you're scrolling TikTok right now and you could be talking to the creator of the world, he says.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, as I'm posting a video. I thought about it like how many people are gonna be like, well, you're posting on social media right now, but uh man, it's a tool, just like a lot of things.
SPEAKER_08It is, it can be used for bad, it can you be used for good. Yeah, you make that decision. You make that decision.
SPEAKER_00And I I think that when God told me, like giving you a platform, whatever you've done with it, that convicted me because I've looked back at some of my old content and I've deleted some of it, but some of it's still there, and it's just like, man, I I was pointing people to the wrong direction, the wrong direction, you know. And uh but now it's time to to do it the right way. So preach. That's cool. Anyway.
SPEAKER_03Dang. Have you said your favorite Bible verse?
SPEAKER_00Uh I mean James is James is one of my favorite Bible verses. Um but I I think uh I think one the one of the verses that have stuck with me throughout my life is when Jesus says, Come to me in Matthew 11, 28, come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I'll give you rest.
SPEAKER_03That James one um been a favorite for a long time for me, and I would during in sports I would always put a piece of tape on my shoe. So if I ever put my head down, like that's what I would see. That's awesome. And which I I need to do something like that again. Yeah, we should. Like it's not like it just happens in sports. No. But always it's always a good reminder.
SPEAKER_00My favorite Bible story is uh when Jesus when they when they caught the woman in adultery and they threw her out on the street and we're gonna stone her. They were trying to really what they were trying to trap Jesus in a you know in a in a in a law, you know, like seeing if he's gonna obey the law or not. He says, This woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law says we should stone her. What do you say?
SPEAKER_08I am the law of Moses.
SPEAKER_00Nope. No, not that one. He kneels down and he starts drawing in the dirt, and he says, He who has no sin cast the first stone.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah, that's right. Now, I wonder what he drew.
SPEAKER_00A lot of people kind of stop right there at that verse and just like take that as a message. But my favorite part is when he kneels down in the dirt. So one by one they start dropping their stones because every one of them had sin in their life. Jesus, being perfect, had never broken the law. He was the only one that was legally had a legal right to stone her. And he kneels down in the dirt and looks at her in the face. And you can imagine how scared she is. She's probably about to lose her life, think she's going to get stoned. He kneels down and looks at her and says, Woman, where are those who accuse you? And she said, Nowhere, Lord. He says, Neither do I go and sin no more. His grace to her in that moment was what enabled her to have life. Enabled her to go and have a relationship with him. Exactly. So that's my favorite story, just the grace of God. And because I've been that woman, you know, where I've been, I legally was wrong. Yeah. And God has knelt down in the dirt with me, looked me in my eyes, and said, I forgive you. Go and sin no more. So yeah.
SPEAKER_08What a loving God we serve. Unconditional love.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And also, another favorite verse is there uh mercies are new every morning. So I can stay here all night. Let me crack this up and what are we doing in the morning?
SPEAKER_03What are we maybe he'll understand? Look, we were we were going through the Bible, Matthew. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. You got a you got a problem with that? Matthew.
SPEAKER_03Is he calling you? No.
SPEAKER_08He's gonna call you blister.
SPEAKER_03No, I was just saying what would happen if we stayed here all night.
SPEAKER_00Dude, I I will. I I promise you I will be here all night.
SPEAKER_03Transovid. We're doing OPU. We're doing OPU pickups. There, you'll need to see that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't even know what that is.
SPEAKER_03That's where they pull the oocyte. Oh, okay. That's the egg before it's out of the ovary.
SPEAKER_00Yes, this is I I've never would imagine we'd be doing I'd be doing this type of stuff, and it's been amazing to get to learn. I'm I mean, we're not gonna do it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. We gotta bring somebody in for that. I'm not smart enough.
SPEAKER_00Maybe you can be smart enough one day. Some test tubes. Or a little bit the blue into the green. Your dad was showing me the semen uh tanks, you know, the the transporting, or what do you call it? The just a nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen. The hydro nitrogen. When he opened it up, right in my mind, I'm like, this is a bunch of science. And he opens it, watch this, and he puts like a broomstick in it. I'm like, this is literally, I feel like I'm watching high school science class, right? Friggin' Bill Nye the science guy.
SPEAKER_01Um, pew, pew, pew, Bill Nye.
SPEAKER_00Science rules at the end video. Anyway, yeah, he needs to be.
SPEAKER_08That's definitely doll. Why not never put two and two together?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's Bill Nye the cattle.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, no joke.
SPEAKER_00Bill Nye the cattle guy.
SPEAKER_08We need we need to do something with that.
SPEAKER_00Bill Nye needs to repent, though. He's yeah, he's he's off the deep end. Come on, Bill. Yeah. Gosh, that's funny. How old are you? You're 26. Yeah, so we we grew up in the same air watching Bill Nye.
SPEAKER_08Sure did. Oh, yeah. I knew that.
SPEAKER_00Our science teachers back in Alabama, Mississippi didn't teach us. They just turned on Bill Nye.
SPEAKER_08On a big old box TV and throw in the static.
SPEAKER_00Your hair would just do this when the TV turned on. They have a little bitty ratchet strap the size of a shoelace holding this 500-pound TV up. Like so. I wonder how many kids are crossing.
SPEAKER_08That little that little cart. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But you knew it was gonna be a good day. You didn't have to listen to that old lady preach.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Anyway.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no joke. God bless the sound. So accurate.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I can put on some shrimp tonight.
SPEAKER_00Mustard on shrimp.
SPEAKER_03Good stuff. Matthew, Matthew, Michael puts shrimp, puts it out of the thing. We're getting mullet. We gotta get out of here.
