What's going on, everybody? Back with another Fourth and Wrong episode here with Chris Marlar. I'm Tyler Huck. And it is June 25th. We're like, I think less than 60 days away from the first kickoff. I think we're near 50 days away. I don't hear an echo.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um, alright. Beard dog in the chat. Um okay. So it's hot as shit outside. I can't be outside anymore. I I've already decided that I'm done with summer. I'm ready for football. It's just too much.
SPEAKER_01It's awful.
SPEAKER_02Heat index of I think it was like 105 today. Um storms to roll through here tonight, cool it off a little bit. But how you been, man?
SPEAKER_01Good, dude. Had a good Juneteenth. Um, America's at war. Uh had fun watching the College World series this weekend with LSU and winning. That was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_02Um it was a great, great showing between LSU Coastal and the Umps. Dude, like, like why? Just why? So did you hear the story about the the Ump that like he he actually used to be an MLB umpire and they they legitimately kicked him out because he had too short of a fuse and was like kicking people out of games left and right, and so they were like, hey man, you can't you can't be here anymore. So now he's in college and ruining it there, too.
SPEAKER_01Do you remember the Tennessee Clemson series from a couple years ago where Tennessee goes to Clemson and I think it was a super regional? They go to the 13th inning, Tom Hart, our buddy's on the call. And in the 13th inning, he throws somebody, what's up, Isaac? He throws somebody out. It was Cam Cannarella, the the center fielder for Clemson, who's like their best player now. He's gonna be a first-round pick. And it's because him and Zayn Denton, the third baseman who hits a game tying home run, were talking shit after like after an out, like going to the dugout. Like they're both going to the dugout, they're not like in each other's face, they're going separate ways. Turns on says something, he's hawking it the whole time, throws them out. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. I went off on a fucking tirade about this the other day, and I will not apologize for the language that I use. If you're in a if you're in a last game of the season situation and you have played 70 games and you have a fucking umpire that in the first inning decides to be that kind of person, fuck you, dude. Like, like, I mean, what are we doing?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, look, I don't think Kozel was gonna win anyways, um, you know, when it comes to like a three-game series, and they were already down one-zero and LC is just a better team. But I mean, nobody's tuning in in the first inning, and like I could I could maybe even see like if things really escalated out of control and they throw them out, like, okay, maybe like it things went too far. But the dude literally, and I get that he's kind of a dickhead in the first place, the coach of Coastal Carolina, but like apparently he just came out and said, like, you missed three three balls, which he had, yeah. Which he had, uh, and which they all do. Um, and essentially that got him thrown out of the game, and the top of the first inning. What are we doing? So, but that's not why LSU won by any means. LSU's got a great team, eighth national championship, which is unbelievable. Um you know, you have the guy, the Arkansas kid. Uh, well, both of both those plays at the end really uh changed the fortunes for LSU there. But um yeah, it was a good, I mean Tennessee won last year, LSU this year, so the SEC's still in charge.
SPEAKER_01Six straight years.
SPEAKER_02Six straight years. Wow, what a confidence. Little ACC baby back bitch. Hey, Nick Saban ain't walking through that door, motherfucker.
SPEAKER_01So we have a lot to talk about on the show tonight. Thomas Cassianos, who I know, I'm sure all of you know who that is.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, um he's uh he's that dude, according to him.
SPEAKER_0116th ranked quarterback in the ACC last year in terms of QBR.
SPEAKER_02He actually left the team in the middle of the year.
SPEAKER_01So said he ran shit.
SPEAKER_02Someone pulled out like the every quote that he had was unbelievable. But yeah, just some of them, like where he was like, Y'all know me, y'all see my career, like you know, come out the gates hot. People went back and immediately looked and was like, uh the your first game uh a couple years ago when like you actually had a pretty good year, your first year. Uh you came out the gates and went like 13 for 26 against northern Illinois.
SPEAKER_01Fuck yeah, dude. Yeah, yeah. I mean, we came we came right there and Bill O'Brien, he was dialing up shit left and right, brother. We were we were you know the funniest part about this whole thing is when he was talking shit about this, he was doing it and he's like, dude, I ran shit in this league last year. Buddy, buddy, you you ran shit against your your current teammates, like that's who you were playing last year. Like, what are you talking about about?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, not only that, he he threw his prior teammates under the bus. He was like, I was the only guy there, and I was like, I was like carrying the load, and so now I got all these guys on my squad. I'm like, Well, buddy, uh, we went two and ten last year. So I don't know if we've got really a squad, but yeah, I don't know. I mean, you know, and the other side of it is this is a perfect thing to happen in June when there's nothing going on. Um, I don't know that Alabama's gonna come out and like run extra win sprints because of this or like pump the weights a little harder because we've got to get Tommy Castellanos. Can't believe he would say that about us. Uh, but yeah, just read the room, man. I mean, um, and then there's also the other side of me, it's like at least we have a quarterback who like isn't a P word, like uh maybe the prior QB last year out of the portal. Uh DJU. I don't know if you remember your Heisman uh caliber, your preseason Heisman final is DJU. Uh he's quiet as a mouse, man.
SPEAKER_01Not only I had so I had such good reasoning behind why he could end up in New York. Like, I mean, like did you think about this? I was like, man, Henon Hooker came in, he was 25. Think about how good he was. DJU's like 32 years old. Former number one situation, former number one overall recruit. And then and then goes into a situation where he's gonna have all this talent around Malik Benson's going there. They got what else they had there.
SPEAKER_02He did a lot of Bama, Malik Benson. So you had to think.
unknownOh man.
SPEAKER_02Tough. Tough yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh what else is new?
SPEAKER_02Did we talk about Iran? Yeah, I was thinking about talking about the Ayatollah. Um, you know, I think it's time for a regime change, honestly. I don't know if we need to be involved, but I think it's been years under this uh Ayatollah here. Uh Huchamani or whatever his name is. I think it's time, Chris. I don't know. What do you what do you think?
SPEAKER_01I I tell you, the only I don't know Ayatollah. I tell you Ali Ali always using the I uh Ayarola. Like I rolls when I say am I right? Yeah, hell yeah, brother. Damn it. Um, no, here's here's the thing. I uh we're gonna start doing some stuff that's more fun for us, even if it's not fun for the crowd. We're gonna talk about college football primarily, but you and I was saying about the other day without getting into that like zero politics. It is weird that people are like actively pulling against America right now in this war or whatever it is because they hate the president so much, which is like I don't like him either, but also like we're pulling against our own team because it's it's just so weird to me.
SPEAKER_02It'd be like Florida State fans being like, you know what? I don't want us to win any games because Tommy Castellan is an asshole.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I think we should lose all of them, to be honest. Yeah, Tommy he also came out and said he's uh it's it's on his back to save the coach's jobs this year.
SPEAKER_01He said that he did. That's a small back.
SPEAKER_02It is when you're 5'8, there's not many coaches you can fit on your back. He's 5'8, he might be 5'10. He's small. Look, I'm obviously hoping for the best. I I do like when you you want your quarterback to have a little bit of like confidence in himself, but uh you know I could have done without the uh can we just talk about Noah Caniga? I said the cup. I said the cu how are we gonna talk about this kid without saying his name?
SPEAKER_01I don't I was gonna say we could call him like Noah Cup Caplease. Wait, that's bitch please.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I didn't I mean that's his name.
SPEAKER_01I don't know if we should here's the thing. Uh the the most unfortunate thing I have ever seen from a typo and I've made so many typos. Never in my life have I seen Phil Steele is the nicest human being on the face of the earth. Do you remember that time in 2019 where we ordered our our um what do you call it? Our uh magazines early. And then yes, and then you got yours, and I got mine delivered, and it was it was stolen out of my out of my mailbox. So he just sent me another one. If if we could zoom in here with our new our new live producer, Eddie Booza. Um he This is just me doing it.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if it's a good one.
SPEAKER_01Oh, gee, okay, never mind. So he he put out his his uh his magazine today, and it has one million words, it has a bazillion words on every team, and the whole magazine is like 370 pages. It gets longer every year because remember, he spends most of like the first half of the the or first third of the magazine bragging about how smart he's been in years past. Well, remember last year there was there was a quarter, no, I'm sorry, not a quarterback, a linebacker that went to eastern Michigan whose last name, his name was Noah, and his last name was K-N-I-G G-A. And it's pronounced ka.
SPEAKER_02Look, if if maybe we should just play this. Yeah. Now let me now. I don't know if you're gonna be able to hear the sound here, so let's just try it out. You can't hear it, can you?
SPEAKER_01I can hear it.
SPEAKER_02The boys seem to be rallying around him.
SPEAKER_01That coach, he was happy to let that out, huh?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, he'd been waiting. I think that's really solely the reason that they signed him. I mean, Eastern Michigan or Eastern Michigan.
SPEAKER_01Eastern Michigan's had some really bizarre names. Remember, they had Brogan Roback or whatever his name was.
SPEAKER_02Uh you say bizarre, I say awesome.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's fair. I also love the fact that somebody asked in the comments was because he because you know it feels still again, dude. He's got a mustache, but like not like a mustache, like a hot mustache, like somebody in like the Air Force would have, or like more funny mustache. Like he he has a mustache, he's like, I just it just brings a little bit of oomph to my face. Like he's he he's definitely a guy that still wears like socks with loafers and suspenders with a belt for no reason, just so many cleats on the pants.
SPEAKER_02I think Phil Steele has actually rocked the mustache, like it was cool in the 80s, and then it went away for like 20 years, but I think he just held strong and then mustaches came back, but he's still rocking the same style of mustache that was cool, like the Tom Selleck type mustache. And so it's now it's just weird. You know, it's been weird for 30 years, probably now.
SPEAKER_01But if you if you tell me that Phil Steele was trapped in an Olin Mills picture from 1988 and just came to life, like a night at the museum thing, I would be a thousand percent. I would be like, Yeah, that's spot up. Can we get a picture of him up here?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, let me try to find one.
SPEAKER_01Well, but we're so anyway, but like there's been so many times where I've like had like bad typos. I remember one time I was doing like a South Carolina thing in like 2019, and I spelled it South Carlona, like C-A-R-L-O-N-A. And it was, I mean, it was so it was really and it already went out, so there's like there were no point in taking it down. So everyone already thought I was an idiot. And I mean there's been some bad typos, but like never have I ever just accidentally dropped the worst.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, you can't you can't forget the K. Like it seems as though you would really want to be sure. Yeah, he's been. I mean, you go back to any of these pictures of Phil Steele. Uh they they could well, that one's small, but the mustache has been there since I mean, I guess he used to be on ESPN at some point. Yeah, he would do Friday, uh, Friday picks mustache there for the two 2019 season. Um, you could go back everywhere. The the mustache has always been there.
SPEAKER_01Um that guy sold me a timeshare and got my kid into Fat Camp in the same summer back in '94.
SPEAKER_02This guy, my god. This guy, he I I'm sure he has a strong opinion on the Iran Israel situation. That's that's my read when I look at this picture. Um, yeah, tough tough look for for Phil Steele. I have so I'm a little late on the magazine this year. Do you have one yet?
SPEAKER_01I got a digital one and it sucks. I hate it. I'm just gonna have to buy the hard copy.
SPEAKER_02Digital?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. I feel like I don't know you anymore. You can't even zoom in on it. So like I don't know, you or you probably can. I just don't know anything about technology. So it's like also you mentioned earlier you can't forget the K. You could have forgotten any other letter in in that word or name, and it would have been okay. The the K was the the most important one that you could not remember the K. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um Yeah, look, Phil Steele. I mean, my guess is he's not the one that's kind of in the magazine day to day updating the names. Maybe uh a wily little intern was like, you know what would be funny? I don't know. I don't know if he's the one typing the shit in the magazine is what I'm saying. But it's still funny, and I now I gotta get I I get one every year, but now I really feel like I need one because it's a collector's item.
SPEAKER_01You gotta frame it, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I'll just rip out that one page.
SPEAKER_01Maybe don't frame it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. It's probably a bad idea.
SPEAKER_01Um can we talk though? And speaking of how um that I mean, no uh I'm not gonna say it yet. I'm gonna wait until I get mad in traffic and then I'll say it. That's a joke. That's just a joke. Uh I'm drinking 400 milligrams of uh Celsius, Evan Grimes.
SPEAKER_02I might I might make it Wednesday night.
SPEAKER_01Should I get a beer instead?
unknownI think so.
SPEAKER_01Let me go off here. I'm dog fitting over here.
SPEAKER_02Okay. How's everybody in the chat? Wow, we got 157 people live. This will not be a one-off, David Hill. Thank you for the question. Um, no, we we are getting back into the swing of things. We're ready to get rolling for the season. Um look, some of us on this pod are probably excited for their football season, some of us aren't. Um, we do have a producer now that's going to be helping us. Um, in fourth and wrong fashion, of course. Uh, we didn't set him up with a login or anything. Um, we actually sent him the link to the stream yard about five minutes before we went live and realized that he had no access to do any producer uh related things. So we will get Booza in. You should we get Boozo on camera just so everybody knows him? Does Booza even want to be on camera? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't even see him. He won't speak to me. I think he left actually.
SPEAKER_01Did he really?
SPEAKER_02Um I don't know. I don't see him. I don't see him in the in the green room as as show yourself coward. Um so we'll see if he's still here.
SPEAKER_01But Chris, are you at your friend's house with a sexually active neighbors? I am well, I don't know. You don't know they might be sexually active. I'm in Johns Creek right now.
SPEAKER_02Um, in the it's in the country, apparently. Is it according to oh there he is? Not that in roost? Let's add the producer on here.
SPEAKER_01Oh boy.
SPEAKER_02Oh boy, there he is. Producer Booza in the house.
SPEAKER_01I wasn't ready. I didn't do my hair and makeup for the big reveal. This angle fucking sucks.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you look good. Uh so Booza, good buddy of mine. Uh, we are uh brothers, we're brothers in arms. Uh went to Florida State together. Booza, fun fact about Booza, he is the PA announcer for uh quite a successful program, Florida State softball.
SPEAKER_01Are you really?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he is. So he lives in Tallahassee still. Um were you born there, Booz?
SPEAKER_00I grew up here. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you well, you okay? You were born there, but that's okay. You grew up there.
SPEAKER_00Well, I was born on an Air Force base.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Oh, by the way. My dad's captain.
SPEAKER_01What are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_02Speaking of that, um, did you watch Chase Burns?
SPEAKER_01We'll talk about dads on the spot.
SPEAKER_02Uh, should you watch Chase Burns last night? Uh have his debut, number you know, Tennessee kid from last year. Uh well, I don't know if he was the number one overall pick, but he just got drafted in the first round of last year by the Reds, already got called up and was awesome. But his his parents were in the stand, so of course they're doing the interview. And uh they asked, like, oh, so you guys met in the navy, right? Is that how you guys met? And and and the mom was like, Yeah, so me and his dad met in the navy. Um, we we met on base, um, fraternized a bit, and then Chase was born, like on live TV.
SPEAKER_01Fraternized? Yeah, fraternized is what she said. Okay. I'm gonna go backstage. Okay. That was Booza. Yeah, he'll be here all year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so I'll get Booza in when he's uh you know, when he's when I'm getting just crushed about Florida State, maybe Booz can jump in and help out. But yeah, um anything exciting you about college football this week?
SPEAKER_01I want to get into these stupid names, like the Elite 11 names. Like when did everyone when did names become so fucking stupid?
SPEAKER_02I want to say it was probably around 9-11, 2000. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Did you see did you see who committed the the commit to so Oregon? I'm sorry, Oklahoma had a kid named like Bo Bradley or something. Evan, tell me where I'm wrong in the um comments here. They got somebody named like Bo Bentley, B-O-W-E. Yep.
SPEAKER_02And then by the way, no one's ever spelled a first name Bo B-O-W-E outside of this kid.
SPEAKER_01No, I also I was telling him like just do bo like R R O U guys like on on Link or Locked On. I was like, you guys need to make Bo U shirts like right away. Like and sell them.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, but his name's not spelled that way, so it's tough.
SPEAKER_01No one cares.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_01Um and then then so since he committed to Oklahoma over LSU, LSU immediately offered a kid named, I'm not making this up, Bryson Beaver.
SPEAKER_02Bryson Beaver. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Bryson Beaver.
SPEAKER_02Where is he from?
SPEAKER_01Not Corvallis. Not a body of water that used to run and is now stopped because of a wood build. He he he ended up like I had to make a secret graphic for him, and then six hours later he committed to Oregon.
SPEAKER_02Don't forget Ryder Lions, Ryder. Um apparently a heavyweight battle between Oregon, which you would expect for a five-star QB, and BYU. Uh he is from Utah, so kind of makes sense.
SPEAKER_01Um I don't know what a guy named Bo Jadrow. Spelled how? B A E wrong. Spelled wrong and stupidly.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01Here's your top performers for the Elite 11, Tyler. Okay. Dia Bell.
SPEAKER_02Uh, I don't know if the fans know here, but Roger Bell. Remember Roger Bell?
SPEAKER_01The baseball player?
SPEAKER_02The basketball player? The basketball player? Yeah, he's in the NBA sons. Uh I think he's mostly a defensive guy, but he used to get in tussles with Kobe all the time. That's his son.
SPEAKER_01That's hot. Okay. Um Heliman Kasuga.
SPEAKER_02You said you said Hellaman?
SPEAKER_01Heliman Kasuga.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01All right. Bryson Beaver. Bo Bentley. Faison Brandon. Looks like those are mixed up.
SPEAKER_02Faison. Faison would make more sense.
SPEAKER_01I'm assuming Kayshawn, but it's K-A-I-S-E-A-N Henderson.
SPEAKER_02Going to Houston.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Yep. Matt Konatoski. I don't know who he's not committed to my battles.
SPEAKER_02I don't know where he's going, but don't tell me, but I'm guessing it's either Boston College or Pitt.
SPEAKER_01I was going to say he's 1,000% from Western Pennsylvania. Like zero zero doubt. Louisville commit Briggs Cherry.
SPEAKER_02I think Briggs Cherry might have been born. Like when he was born, the second he came out of the loom, they were like, this boy's going to be a quarterback. Briggs Cherry.
SPEAKER_01There was some frat nazzing going on with his mom, I'll tell you that much. Um Travis Burgess. Uh Bama's new commit. Jet Kamalia. Jet with two T's. Yeah, that makes sense.
SPEAKER_02I don't think you'd give one T in the name. Usually three. Oh, yeah, that'd be true. If you're trying to stand out.
SPEAKER_01Uh Terry Walker the Third.
SPEAKER_02I mean, that's a pretty standard name.
SPEAKER_01And my personal favorite from this week linebacker commit who flipped from Auburn to Georgia. Shadarius Tootle.
SPEAKER_02Look, obviously Shadarius was was picked for him. But Tootle just is what it is. I mean Shadarius Tootle? You could be Tyler Tootle. You could be Chris Tootle. Either way, it sucks.
SPEAKER_01I I had a lot of Mexican on Sunday night, and I should Darius Tootle my pants. So that was a tough one to drive home.
SPEAKER_02You shouldarius your pants.
SPEAKER_01You cannot get that smell out of a Hyundai Tootle.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, uh yeah, the names are out of control to your players.
SPEAKER_01It's so ridiculous.
SPEAKER_02I like that. Kind of feel is like exactly what you would want for a D-lineman. Tico and Tank. Tank's a good one. Um yeah, man. I I'll be honest. Like, I used to, as you know, like I used to love recruiting. It's kind of tough to follow now. Like, even when Force 8 gets commits, I'm like, okay, like that's fine. But let's just get to signing day because first of all, in my personal experience, we've lost I think four straight signing days. We've lost a five-star flip that really. Yeah. Uh KJ Bolden, uh Georgia, the kid, I can't even remember his name now. The O-lineman flipped to LSU last year. Obviously, Travis Hunter.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's a five star. Yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_02Right. Yeah. And there's another one. Um, so but like with NIL, and I don't I really don't think this cap thing is gonna really stop people from spending over 20 million dollars on a roster. No, or whatever it is. I know the 20, the cap is for all of athletics, but you know, I don't think that's gonna stop. So the NIL is like a total game changer because like someone can come in, you know, somebody could have lost a commit last minute, and they're like, look, we need a quarterback. Sorry, Bo Bentley. We're gonna you're not gonna go to Oklahoma. We're gonna Illinois gonna come in and offer you five million dollars and you're gonna flip to them on signing day.
SPEAKER_01Like, you just the kid that went to Miami, the number one overall player. The one looks like fat Jackson Arnold.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, um, I think his name is also Jackson. Jackson Cantwell.
SPEAKER_01Jackson Cantwell, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, yeah, like was like dead set on going to Missouri for a while, and then all of a sudden it was like, oh, Georgia in the picture probably makes more sense than Missouri, and then last minute, Miami. Um that's good for Miami, you know, they're all in on the uh the NIL stuff.
SPEAKER_01I think the the one thing that's interesting from this that it's gonna suck too is the 20.5 million is not gonna change a lot of stuff for people. I think that you're gonna start seeing a separation of teams that have like if everyone has 15 million, because like the the the number that everyone's kind of going to is it's gonna be 73 to 76 or 73 to like 77 percent of almost every single major power four program uh and really all athletic departments are going to spend that amount of 30.5 million on football, and then they'll go men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, whatever else. Alabama came out, Greg Burns said flat out he goes, we are going to spend that amount on football, and then we're gonna start spending on men's basketball, then baseball, and then only uh sports that make money. So you're talking about like six total sports, that's it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would are there six sports that make money.
SPEAKER_01I think so. I think softball for Bama makes money, um, baseball, women's basketball, women's basketball really doesn't. Um but either way, like like the only school, the only the only sports that are going to like make or get any NIL money are the ones that make actual money for the like the university, which I understand, but like everything else would be status quo with like you know you're gonna find some some someone's going to have a generational dynasty in a non-major sport because they are going to spend a fuck ton of money in like something no one cares about. Like you'll you'll see it out west, like Stanford will have like a they'll they'll spend two billion dollars total on water polo or something and then make a fuck ton of money.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, like I saw St. John's came out and they're like, we're gonna spend something like 14-15 million dollars on our roster for basketball, and Patino said we're not gonna recruit any high school players. That's all portals. I mean, is that really what we like wanted out of all this? Is like for high school kids to get no shot at point like getting a roster spot on St. John's because they're just gonna recruit all transfers and probably tamper. You know, I saw someone in the chat earlier. I did see this. B Lima came out and was like basically said Georgia tampered with the running back to get him to transfer there. It's like he was on our roster, he came to me telling me he was gonna be in the portal. 12 hours later, he's on a flight to UGA and he commits. And it's like, yeah, yeah, they did tamper. And also everybody does that. Yeah, because let's be frank, like these coaches are all bitching about this shit, but they're all doing it. So you all just agree to stop. It's the same thing with ADs, like it's like these coaches have these ADs over a barrel. It's like, oh, Norvell went two and ten last year. You want to fire him? You gotta pay him 60 million dollars for him to not coach there, right?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02Okay, well, how about we just stop giving the like is there a point where all the ADs can come together and be like, hey, what if we don't do buyouts like we've been doing? So we'd like none of us can get screwed. How about that?
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_02It's the same thing here. It's just like, can we all disagree to not tamper? Or because if we can't, then you can't bitch about it because you're all doing it.
SPEAKER_01And also, like, listen, I don't know how much George is tampering with other schools. I know how important recruiting is to Kirby Smart, and I'm sure his you know analyst staff is out there constantly looking at tape of other players, and I'm sure he has an entire part of that dedicated to that. But here's the thing there's no chance that his roster isn't getting tampered with more I'm sorry, less than Illinois. So fucking like Brett Bielama has become such a fucking bitch about everything, and it blows my mind because he was so likable like not that long ago, and then all of a sudden he just became the big fat lane kiffin, man. He he's he's become fat lane kiffin. He wants to sound off and all this shit. But the most comical part of the Brett Bielama stuff is, and listen, I want to be very clear because he's dumb enough to find clips like this and then somehow like get involved. He's he's done it multiple times this offseason. I would love to hang out with Brett Bielama. I think Brett Bielama is fucking awesome. Like, I like he met his wife at a blackjack table, he's 200 pounds heavier than her. I mean, that sounds like a relationship I'm I could probably currently be in. Okay. So, like, I don't I I love I love all the stuff about like what he is a person. But when he left Arkansas, he left Arkansas because he got fired on the field after he lost to Mizzou, and he is now starting coming in, like talking shit about the SEC, which without getting into the back and forth about me trying to champion FC, I'm not trying to champion the SEC as much as I'm trying to talk in facts when I say, dude, you couldn't cut it in this league. That's why you're not here anymore. You should have never left Wisconsin. Wisconsin was a push job that you could have probably taken into like being one of the four best teams going into the NIL era in instead of drifting over to fucking Fayetteville going 500 for four straight years and now finding a job in Illinois. He's done a good job in Illinois, he's a good coach, but like it's it's wild to me that you want to sit here, go out of your way to shit talk the SEC because what you beat South Carolina in a fucking bowl game? Like it just feels really dumb because you you're the reason you're not in this league that you talk shit on is because you weren't good enough to be in this league.
SPEAKER_02I I I really can't refute what you just said. I I've been I've been on the bowl games don't matter unless you're in the in the playoffs for a while now. At least since 2023. Um yeah, no, I uh you you you said an interesting word there though. He be he's he's become such an asshole. I think he's kind of been an asshole for a long time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. But is this Drew Hutchins from Georgia College in the in the chat right now? Um by his government name.
SPEAKER_02Should we out him? No, I don't think anyone would know that if uh his real name is Andrew, if he goes by Drew.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm I'm just putting two and two together here. Also, I did love a booze that set up here. The Texas Tech in softball. Texas Tech is just just dude, I mean, they are throwing out so much fucking.
SPEAKER_02Well, BYU. The BYU got a five-star QB, first five-star player they've had since 2023 or 2003.
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_02And they got the number one men's basketball recruit.
SPEAKER_01Over Bama.
SPEAKER_02Oh, is it Overbama?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. AJ Demonasta or whatever his name is.
SPEAKER_02So never talk about the Mormons. They'll come together, they'll make 10 kids, and then they'll pay for recruits.
SPEAKER_01I mean how do they have any money left? I mean, that they they pop out kids all the time. Like that's that's not those kids aren't cheap.
SPEAKER_02I I think that every Mormon I've ever met has been rich.
SPEAKER_01What's that about?
SPEAKER_02Something gone, something going on there. We need to look more into Mormons, I think.
SPEAKER_01I think we need to look less into Mormons, but I will say Allie got me into the Mormon wives. No, she got me into the Mormon Wives. Okay. Um have you watched those? Yes.
SPEAKER_02Uh the the one girl like got big on TikTok for like being in like a swinger group.
SPEAKER_01No, they all did. They all they all got big on TikTok. They call it mom talk. Right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, great, great example. The funniest part come chat with us. We're all fucking our husbands.
SPEAKER_01They're they're all hot. Like they're they're all they're all like very attractive women. Hopefully, Allie's not watching this. They're all very attractive women. They're all their all their husbands are either super fucking gay and lying about it, or they're like they're like also super attractive dudes. It's mainly two dudes that are attractive, and the rest of them are like, you're dude, come on.
SPEAKER_02So and then they all all the wives started banging each other's husbands? Is that what happened?
SPEAKER_01Not exactly. They were like making out and then and like everything they do is like like the shit that you didn't, you personally, not me, because I was a great kid. But the shit that you and Jason King did in high school, like it's that's all it is. It's like, oh my god, we were playing spin the bottle with each other's husbands, and it's like you're fucking 32. Why are you playing spin the bottle? Yeah, you what bottle do you have? You don't drink, proclaimed you have children.
SPEAKER_02You shouldn't be playing spin the bottle when you have kids. Sure, unless maybe you maybe you had a kid as a result of a spin the bottle gone wrong early, and then maybe you're still like maybe you have a kid when you're 19. Maybe you could still play. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Every everything that I can gather from Mormons of the entire Mormon faith is one, it's fucking hysterically stupid. I don't care. If we have any Mormons in the chat, I'm I'm gonna offend you and just know that it I don't care, and it's mainly from a piece of like like humor and not seriousness. I do not want to fight with you about the facts of the Mormon church. But if you're telling me that a bunch of you were in Utah and somebody said they went into the woods and found a gold version of the Bible, golden plates that God handed to him, and then was just like, Don't tell anybody, but you're now you're now in charge of everyone. They were like, Yeah, you were dumb enough to believe that. And then he was like, Hey, by the way, no one's allowed to have caffeine or pussy forever. Can't say pussy, I don't think, but anyway. So and they just did it.
SPEAKER_02What like what we don't have any Chris? I'll I'll stop you there. We don't have any corporate or overlords anymore. If you want to say pussy, you can.
SPEAKER_01Well, I know that we talked to our good buddy Tyler Bridgers, who's uh works at a law firm, and they said they potentially um want to talk about some sponsorship stuff.
SPEAKER_02So maybe okay, well, yeah, we we don't have them yet, but yes, yeah, maybe we shouldn't.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, very very true. But here's the thing it like everything about that show, if you watch it, it's really funny. Evan is spot on with this, it's really funny. But if you watch it, the whole point of the show is like, oh yeah, we're not allowed to drink coffee. And then it's like, so what do you do? Oh, I got a 64 ounce of fucking Dr. Pepper. No adult is drinking Dr. Pepper.
SPEAKER_02But I thought they weren't allowed to have caffeine.
SPEAKER_01That's a whole that's a whole thing, Tyler. I don't get it. Also, like like they they they will get like sodas, they'll go to like these like soda shops, and they'll be like, we get a 64 ounce of Dr. Pepper with cherry vanilla and creamer, like like coffee creamer, creamer. And they'll drink and they'll just drink these. I don't know what kind of metabolism maybe Mormon metabolisms are fucking otherworldly. But have you ever seen like have you ever seen a grown adult drinking a Dr. Pepper?
SPEAKER_02I think I I did drink one today.
SPEAKER_01Did you really? I did. Like a like an un. I'm talking about a regular Dr. Pepper because they're delicious.
SPEAKER_02I I didn't put any cream in it. I can tell you that. No diet, not not like not like I did not soak before I did it. I just uh we've got them in the fridge at the office, and I was like, you know what? I'm kind of over water, I've been drinking water all day, it's hot as shit. Need a little caffeine. What's better than a good Dr. Pepper?
SPEAKER_01They're delicious. I like to have them on Saturdays in the fall for games. It reminds me about going to Alabama games when I was a kid. But here's the thing with 80% of the time, and I'm being generous here, 80% of the time when you see a grown adult in the wild drinking a Dr. Pepper, it is never followed with like that looks really good. It's always followed with like that looks really good, and also like I'm gonna pray for that person. Like, is that person okay?
SPEAKER_02And I do need prayers to be fair.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, that is very true.
SPEAKER_02Um, okay, so is this uh is this I I'm gonna tune in. I want to tune in. Is this a Bravo show? Is it a Netflix show? On Hulu.
SPEAKER_01I'll dude, I'll binge it with you right now.
SPEAKER_02I got Ali is gotten into Band review. Was it called Mon Talk?
SPEAKER_01It's called The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
SPEAKER_02It feels like they're not that secret, to be honest.
SPEAKER_01Very astute, because almost right from the beginning, there's nothing secretive at all about that. Yeah, and it's also fucking bank, dude. Like they all have these like TikTok stuff, like like like like they'll they'll get these brand deals, and it's like 20,000 per brand deal. Like they're they're all like like millionaires. They also all wear extensions in their hair, and none of them are putting correctly.
SPEAKER_02All right, now I gotta tune in.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um I've got a bit of a PSA. Uh, I didn't know this, Chris. Um, but I found out the hard way. Did you know that you cannot pass a school bus even when it's not stopped, but the the lights are flashing like it's coming to a stop?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Well, I didn't know that. I thought the I thought the stop sign had to be out. Once the stop sign goes out, you can no longer pass. Did you know, Chris, that uh unfortunately in the state of Georgia, they have increased the severity of the penalty if you do so and you get caught. So I was in court on Tuesday and uh paid a $1,400 fine. Yeah, it was tough. Tough. What? All because I'm trying to be a good father to get my kids to school on time. I stuck behind a bus.
SPEAKER_01$1,400?
SPEAKER_02$1,400 fine. And in fact, uh, because I'm such a really I'm I'm a high class citizen. I don't get in trouble. You know, I like to follow the rules. Um I was gonna get six points on my license as well as a fourteen hundred dollar rules. It's bad. It's real bad. Your insurance goes up, it doesn't fall off for I think five years. Um, and then of course, if you get additional points on top of that, then you're talking about suspended license, jail time. So uh got a this was back in March when I got pulled over. I my court date, which was mandatory by the way, I had to go to court um was this Tuesday on my son's birthday, which is makes me made me feel like a great father. But my kids were in the car when it happened, so you know, whatever. Uh showed up. There's about 50 some odd people. Guy I'm standing next to's got face tats.
SPEAKER_01Where was this?
SPEAKER_02What what this is in uh Canton, Georgia, so small time, you know. We we weren't down in that in Fulton County at the Atlanta. That could have been a little different.
SPEAKER_01That's where I went to jail.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So I go in, you know. Of course, uh, I start researching when I get the letter, like you need to come to court, and I'm like, what what are the penalties? And it's like it's like when you uh WebMD, or I don't know if anyone uses it anymore, it's probably AI at this point, but you WebMD, like I'm not I'm feeling these symptoms, and it's like it's either cancer or like a headache. Um it was like, yeah, uh up to 12 months of jail time, um, you know, fines over a thousand dollars. I was like, Jesus Christ, what what am I gonna walk into here? Go in my group chat with uh my buddies from school, a couple lawyers in there, none of them taking it seriously. They're like, Yeah, you're definitely going to jail, like there's really not much you can do. I'm like, Yeah, so I roll up the the letters like you gotta dress business casual. So I wear like a nice blazer over my over my shirt, nice pants. I walk in, 75% of people wearing sweatpants, t-shirts, oh yeah, yeah, you know, whatever. So we go in there, and uh they have to go one by one in front of everybody, list your name, and if it's just like a traffic, regular traffic stop, like following too closely, they go, You stand over here, it's just a pre-trial thing. You don't have to wait for the judge, you know, just accept your fine, and we move on. Uh, these folks over here that hired attorneys and showed up with them, you'd be over here. And these folks in the middle, you've got a choice. You could wait for an attorney. We've got one that will come today and tell you what your options are, um, or you could just accept your penalties. So they get to me, and the first thing she goes, she goes, uh Tyler Huck. And I go, Yeah, right here. She goes, Do you know how much the fine is? And I was like, she whispered. I was like, Well, I've got an idea. Can you give me and this is in front of everybody? She's like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like thirteen hundred dollars.
SPEAKER_01Can you can you place a rough can you afford that?
SPEAKER_02And I was like, I mean, are like, do I have any options? She was like, Well, we can appoint you an attorney if you'd like. And I was like, Yeah, I mean, that's fair. So 30, I don't know, 30 minutes later, they circle back to me with the attorney, and I was like, this attorney comes up, she's like, Yeah, just plead no low. And uh we'll take all the points off your your license and you can just pay the fine. And I was like, So had I just been like, Yeah, I'll just walk over to the wall and pay my penalties, I would have had the points. She was like, Yeah. I was like, Okay, well, I'm glad I asked. So, no points on the license, that's good, but fourteen hundred dollar fine, which is tough. Uh a few weeks ahead of going back to Tahoe, which is where a lot of money will be spent.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Do you remember my 2013?
SPEAKER_02Do I remember your 2013? I think. We took a we we had a oh, was that oh that was the the bachelor party from hell, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, not from hell necessarily, but it was a little weird. That guy that I tormented is no longer with us.
SPEAKER_02I didn't want to bring that up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um I got arrested and I had to go downtown Fulton County because I had I was this is like that's why I had to drive you to that's that's really where our friendship kicked off. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I had to I had to get someone to drop me off at your house so I could ride with you to Charleston because I I got a suspended license I didn't know I had. It was like a $25 fine, and I was I was DDing for a buddy of mine, and I was pulling over right next to the um Black Bear Tavern on Peachtree Road, and I remember my buddies like freaking like dude, we're so fucked. I'm like, I am sober, we're fine. And it was like I didn't pause or I didn't stop like when I took a write on red. What he's he's hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_02Oh no, Chris has been distracted. Everyone remain calm. Oh yeah, so I'll fill in the story real quick. Um, yeah, Chris, like Chris and I had met each other once. We had a mutual friend. I had a like one of my best friends from high school. I went to go visit him for at Georgia College for New Year's, I think during college, or um, yeah, obviously, because he was there. And um I stayed in Chris's room, I believe. Chris wasn't there, but what did I think we might have met on that trip? It was like all the all the like Hans and all those guys, yeah. But like that was really the extent of it. And then I get a call from Jason, he's like, Hey man, uh, you think you could drive my buddy Chris to Charleston for my bachelor party? Unbelievable. Yeah, why not? And on that ride, found out we both love college football, yeah, yeah, chatted the whole time. We win the national championship that year, so I was like, this guy's my good luck charm. And then we were like, hey, you know what? We we remained friends, and then we were like, you know what, we should start a podcast.
SPEAKER_01First did happen.
SPEAKER_02Florida State, Alabama, they call it the GOAT, the greatest opener of all time. And uh, it's really been a lot of pain ever since then.
SPEAKER_01So I don't know that it was quite the good luck that I thought, but um, speaking of pain, my boss just texted me and was upset that I did not have a graphic done because I had a miscommunication. Um I thought we'd make one for all the draft picks for the Pelicans, but it turns out I need to make one for fears right now. So I have to run. Okay, but I trust you to get this up. You want to bring booze on and having close out the show? Oh, I started it, so I ended it. I gotta end it.
SPEAKER_02Okay, all right. Well, hey, listen, everybody, thanks for tuning in. 264 of you guys in here, so we really appreciate it. I'll get this up on Apple and Spotify here after the show, and then um tell your friends.
SPEAKER_01I'll figure out the the echo. I don't know what's going on about it.
SPEAKER_02Okay, all right. Well, appreciate you guys tuning in, and this is gonna be a more regular thing, so we'll see you guys soon.
SPEAKER_00Bye.
