Ep 18: From Vision Boards To Real Moves: How We Manifested A New Life
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We share how manifestation becomes practical: get clear, generate the feeling, and move fast on aligned nudges. From selling a hard-to-sell home to a spontaneous move to Vancouver Island, we show the mix of mindset, science metaphors, and action that creates momentum.
• defining manifestation as aligning inner and outer worlds
• why clarity and present-tense journaling change results
• tuning fork and double-slit metaphors for resonance and focus
• vision boards as attention training, not wishful thinking
• real stories of two homes, a statue in the yard, and a fast move
• morning routines, meditation, and nervous system priming
• worthiness as the ceiling on receiving and results
• shifting from chasing money to serving people
• identity change and small consistent actions
• recommended resources: Neville Goddard, Joe Dispenza, The Desire Map
Send them your manifestation stories. We’d love to hear from you. If this resonates, or a name dropped into your head, send it to them. Share the love.
Welcome And Manifestation Setup
SPEAKER_01You're listening to the love movement with your hosts Brittany and Brian Johnston.
SPEAKER_00We're starting a movement centered around love to help raise the vibration of this beautiful planet.
SPEAKER_01That's your vibe. Hang out with us as we chat about many topics all centered around three main pillars. Loving yourself, loving each other, and loving the planet. So if you're ready, let's jump in.
SPEAKER_00Hello and welcome to our next episode where today we're going to talk about manifestation. Episode 18.
SPEAKER_01Thank you for coming, you guys. We're going to try to keep this short and sweet, but we actually have a lot of stories to tell. But I wanted to ask you, Brian, first, where did you first learn about manifestation?
SPEAKER_00I think the first time I learned about manifestation was watching The Secret in like 2006, and I was completely mind-blown. Totally.
SPEAKER_01Me too.
SPEAKER_00That's my first memory. But looking back on what that episode or what that show taught, it was missing a lot of stuff. A lot of stuff.
SPEAKER_01That basically like it made you think that if you sit there and think about something enough, it will disappear in front of you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and that is uh definitely not the case. There's a lot uh a lot more to it than that. Um I feel like there's a thousand different or maybe ten thousand different um people talking about manifestation in different ways. Um and a lot of them work. The this is we're gonna talk about, I think, some of the things that helped us manifest stuff in our life, some stories and kind of our our view on it. But like you said, there's a thousand different things, ten thousand different things or ways to to think about manifestation. Um, if some of this helps you, awesome.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's just our convo and take kind of on it and some cool stories that we really applied some of this stuff. And looking back, it's like, whoa, that really did work. And now we're sort of on our next phase of what we want to manifest and being more intentional and clear. And um we'll get into it. I think a lot of times our manifestations are born out of like frustrations, where it's like you have to get really clear because you're like, well, how's the universe gonna give me what I want if I don't even know what I want?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Getting clear on what you want is I think one of the most uh important things for sure.
SPEAKER_01And by the way, you guys, throughout this episode, if you hear us say the word universe or we say creator a lot, um, God, whatever it is for you, just insert that word. Don't miss the message because of that word.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So where do you want to start?
SPEAKER_00Um, let's talk about uh what is what do you define manifestation as? What's your definition?
SPEAKER_01Well, if you asked me before I look this up, I don't even know what I would say. Um but basically it's thinking of the things that you want, getting clear on what they are, and then bringing them into your world, like getting aligned with those things. Yeah. Um, and when I looked it up, it literally said process of aligning your inner world with your outer world. So like if you feel like crap, you're never gonna manifest something great. You have to almost like feel your way and think you have the thing before you have it. I think a lot of people, whether it's in business or life, they think, well, when I get there, then I'll be blah, blah, blah. Whereas it's like you have to act like that person first and then you bring it into your world. It's like reverse.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think um what manifestation is, is you know, what we we what we think about, we bring about, right? And it all boils down to the feeling and thinking of what it is you want and getting into that frequency, that vibration, and that's what brings it about. So the most important thing is a feeling and what we're trying to manifest isn't already in our life. So we have to think as if we already have it.
SPEAKER_01And to go 10 million layers deep, which we won't go into this, but it's like everything already exists around us.
Science Analogies And Frequency
SPEAKER_00Aaron Ross Powell Yes, that's the the potential. And I can really talk about the potential. Yeah, there's there's a lot of science about this. People some people are like, oh, it's stuff so woo, but there's literal science behind Joe Dispenza. Uh Joe Dispenza. Um a really simple example of um aligning frequencies is the tuning fork experiment. Remember this one? I do. Yeah. So it's very simple. But imagine there's uh two tuning forks. Or say there's three tuning forks. So you got one of them, you ring it, and you bring another tuning fork close to it, and it doesn't do anything because it's or it doesn't even have to be close to it, it can be on the other side of the room. It doesn't do anything but because it's on a different frequency, right? If you grab the one that's tuned to the same frequency, you ring the one on the other side of the room, that other one starts vibrating because their frequencies are aligned. So it's kind of like attracting, you can attract the frequency you want by becoming the frequency. The frequency, or the thing you want by becoming the frequency that that thing is on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so it's a lot of physics, honestly. It's science.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you can get really deep into stuff. Um with the double slit experiment. I talked about that with you. The double slit experiment.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So uh basically what that is is some some scientists took some they took uh photons and they shot it at a wall that had two little slits in it, and behind that was a solid wall. And what they seen on that solid wall were just two lines where these photons hit, right, and aligned with those slits. Kind of like if you looked through a piece of paper with two lines on it, and you would see two lines behind it. When they stopped, they kept the experiment going, but they stopped observing it. Okay, so they stopped looking at the experiment, but it was still running. And when they came back, there was um lines all over the place. Because when they stopped observing it, these uh photons turned into uh a wave, which is like potential, and they kind of went everywhere. So what what happens is when we look at something, we collapse the potential of it into a physical thing. That's uh crazy. It's a r it's it is crazy, but that's how the universe works. When we think of something, we bring it into our space and like we collapse it into a physical thing through the project uh through manifestation. It doesn't happen instantly though in our world. We have a lot of laws here in our 3D world that we're bound to, uh, and things do take time. Right. But what's happening behind the scenes when we start thinking of something is the universe will start aligning itself you know, with it you'll start getting um r these crazy coincidences. It'll people will start coming into your life. Um yeah, stuff just starts aligning, and you're like, oh, you feel like you're in the flow because you're on the frequency of the thing that you want, and the universe, God, whatever starts putting stuff in your way to help you get to that thing.
Vision Boards And First Home Wins
SPEAKER_01It's cool when you start to have awareness around it and you pay attention to that stuff. It's kind of like your mind is like this GPS, and what you focus on is where you end up going. And I think that's why there's like so much power in dream boards or vision boards, because it helps you to focus on what you actually want.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like where are you right now and where do you want to go?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Because we've made we've made vision boards and one specific story. Should we talk about our second house or when do you want to get into that?
SPEAKER_00Um, yeah, we can talk about whatever, whenever.
SPEAKER_01I mean, there's no real well, I feel like um our first house in Saskatoon. All I remember was the house seemed a bit out of our original budget at that point. I mean, I was like 24 or something, and you were was like 23, you were 25, something like that. And I just remember walking into this house and being like, I don't know how, but like this is our house. Like I walked halfway up the stairs and I just I just knew this was our house. And it ended up being our house.
SPEAKER_00Which is crazy because there's you know a lot of people bidding on these houses.
SPEAKER_01And then also when we sold that house, it was like, you know, our realtor was like, well, this might be a little bit of a tricky sale because the way the layout of the house, like it was just us. It was our first house. It was not set up for like if you had kids in that house or anything. Like, you know, the main floor had like a half bath. That's it. Yeah, the basement wasn't even a full basement, it was like a hallway with rooms and like one main bathroom down there. So it was like a weird, it'd be kind of a different house for a family, really. And someone had told us, again, people getting put in your path that tell you things that help you with the thing you're trying to do, which was sell our house. And she told us about a Saint Joseph statue. And I was like, what do you mean, like a Saint Joseph? Like an actual this is a hot tip, you guys, by the way, if you're trying to sell a house. Like, call me crazy, but this actually works. Um, I went to like Parables, which was a like a Christian store. Christian store in Saskatoon. And I was looking around at like literally the nativity scenes trying to figure out like who Joseph was to take him out of the scene and like just, you know, incognito, like bring him home. And you're supposed to bury him upside down facing the street in a planter or in like a flower bed in the front of your house, and it's supposed to like call in the right buyer. And I was like, I don't care. If this is true, like cool, it's gonna help us. And if not, like I don't really care. But it was funny because when I was there, somebody came up to me and said, Are you looking for a St. Joseph's home selling kit? And I was like, What? And literally, you can buy full-on St. Joseph home selling kits. And so I think I don't know if we if I got one there or ended up ordering on Amazon. Now you just look it up on Amazon, you guys. They're everywhere. I've told so many people about this, and it actually helps. But we sold that house in two weeks.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So does it help, or is it because you believe your mind aligns with the frequency of getting that house sold and things start happening?
The Evergreen Dream Board To Keys
SPEAKER_01I wasn't planning to, I actually forgot that story completely, but I remember just thinking, like, oh my gosh, because we had things set up to buy our second house, but it had to be pending the sale of the first house. And it was just like there was a lot of stipulations and stuff, right? And it was like, well, we knew this was gonna happen because we knew that other house was ours at that point. Um It was just weird though. And I remember wanting to move out of that house for so long, and then I kind of got annoyed. It was like this point of frustration, and I said, like, the universe doesn't even know what we want. Like, how are we gonna get the next thing that we say we want? We don't even really know what it is. And it was October 16th, because it's my brother's birthday, so I'll just never forget that day. And I said to Brian, like, we got to make this dream board. And I remember the middle of that dream board was a house, and I put Crystal Shores Crescent on it, which was on the other side of Saskatoon in an in an area called Evergreen. And Crystal Shores is just like a street that was being built at that time. And we went and looked at open houses over there once we made this dream board, probably like the week after or something, hey? And you tell the rest of the story because we've walked into that one house.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so we were looking around all these houses, we're like, yeah, this is cool, whatever, never found anything we liked, and we were done. And we drove by this one other house, and it was an open house. And I was like, I don't really like this house.
SPEAKER_01It was a bungalow.
SPEAKER_00We knew we didn't want that. We knew we didn't want it 100%. But I'm like, we need to go in this house and have a look.
SPEAKER_01Because pause for a second. We knew what we wanted.
SPEAKER_00Well, yes.
SPEAKER_01Right? Like we knew we wanted you wanted stairs in the house, we wanted X amount of bedrooms, we needed office spaces, triple car garage. Like, there were certain things we knew that if it didn't have that, we weren't settling for it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I turned around. Um, we went in this house and we're looking around, whatever. I'm like, this is not the vibe, and started talking to the realtor dude. He's like, Hey, I have another house. No, he said, What are you looking for? Oh, yeah. What are we looking for? Whatever. And then we he was like, Yeah, I have another house that's not listed yet. It's almost done being built. Why don't we go over there and like I don't know, it was like an hour or two or something.
SPEAKER_01Because he said, like he asked us what our needs were, and he realized what we were saying was exactly what he had that we wouldn't have seen because it's not listed. And it was just the craziest thing because we went over there and looked at this house. It was gonna be the show home for this company. It was a small builder in Saskatoon that doesn't build many homes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So we walked in there and there's still like lots of construction going on.
SPEAKER_01Not ready to show.
SPEAKER_00No. And uh we're like, yeah, this is definitely it.
SPEAKER_01And I realized my aha moment where I was like, this is our house, is when I was on the stairs again. My feet were in that like soft, plush carpet. If you guys were in that house in Saskatoon, you know the carpet. 15 millimeter carpets. It is the best part of the house, it was the carpet. And I just remember thinking too, again, it was like a little bit out of the budget, but we were thinking, like, okay, if there's a will, there's a way, like things will fall into place. And that ended up being our house.
SPEAKER_00And it was less than two months after we made our dream board when we moved.
SPEAKER_01Less than two months. You guys made that dream board October 16th. We got the keys to our new place on December 14th of that year. Blows my own mind when I think about that. And we lived there for how long?
SPEAKER_00Uh, seven years. Seven years.
SPEAKER_01And since we're on the topic of moving, how did we get to Vancouver Island? I started working with an energy healer, and I really am trying to get her on this podcast. Um, I gotta try harder, apparently. But I started working with her in um 2019 in the fall, and she said a lot of things that were really um bang on, like super true. Like one of them was, you know, you're gonna be a mom and you're gonna love it, and he's your earth angel, your guiding light, like you have one boy in your realm, and said it so with so much certainty that I could do nothing but cry. So she told me this September 1st, I ended up getting pregnant in May of 2020. So it wasn't long after when I had Marty. Um, fast forward to February of 2021. So February to November of 2021. I went for a session with her in November. So at this point, like she's legit. Everything she's saying is happening. It's like bang on in our life. And I went for that session. I remember her saying something so crazy because at this point, you and I had said we're gonna move to Canmore.
SPEAKER_00Like we wanted to live there forever.
Energy Healer Insights And A Westward Nudge
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we always kind of had this thing with Canmore, but there was something about it that like we weren't motivated to actually make it happen. Like it was like we were dragging our feet or something, or that's how I felt. And I so in this session with her with Julie, she said, I see you living, it's really weird. I see you living on the very west coast of Canada. And I I remember laughing out loud at her, being like, No, we will never move that far. Like we love BC, but we decided like we're gonna move to Canmore. So you're right, we're moving more west, but like definitely not the west coast of Canada. Okay, so this was November of 2021 that she told me this. And I just kind of laughed, brushed it off, came home, probably laughed about it with you because like we're moving to Canmore someday, probably in five years, you know? Like that was our mindset because Marty was a baby, he wasn't even a year old, and we just kind of had this thing of like, where do we want to be by the time he's five, sort of thing. Anyways, um then I come out to Vancouver Island for like a work retreat. So it was just me. It was the second time I'd ever been out to Vancouver Island. It was in May of the following year. So this is May of 2022. And I remember talking to a friend saying, Oh my gosh, like if Brian came out here, he would never leave. That was the words that came out of my mouth. And she goes, Well, we have a place in Suk, like, why don't you bring Brian and Marty and the dogs and like go stay at our place or whatever? And it's like oceanfront, like stunning property. If you guys know Souk Point ocean cottages, like you couldn't go to a better place. So I kind of was like, huh, I wonder if I should take her up on this offer. That could be like our summer holiday. So come home, talk to Brian. We get on a Zoom with her and talk about like how this would all go down and how it would work. So we planned to do a road trip because of course we have an 18-month-old. So, like, you're driving two provinces, it's gonna take a while. So it was like the road trip in itself was a trip. And we get to the island, we had four nights to stay at her place in Suc. And she's like, you know, go to Victoria, go to Langford, go to places around that are more family focused and just get Brian on the island, see if you guys even like it, and then you can make like your, you know, five-year plan. Again, thinking about Marty when he's five. So we came out here in August, beginning of August, go to the cottages, and on the third day of the four-day trip, you found a place online.
SPEAKER_00Talk about that, because that was also weird. Well, I found a place online, messaged the girl, and she's like, Oh, it's booked, or it's uh it's rented, or whatever, we're not doing any more showings. So I was like, Oh man, that sucks. Like, whatever. And then the next morning, I looked online again and I found it looked like the exact same house. And I'm like, but this is a different person, what's going on? So I messaged the person and they're like, Yeah, come over this afternoon for a uh for a showing. And so we went over there, looked at it, and the dude had almost a hundred people wanting this house. He had another 11 appointments booked for the next day, and he wanted to give it to us on the spot. And we're like, whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down.
The 8-8 Portal And A Sudden Move
SPEAKER_01It was like, okay, universe, like I just was putting out these intentions yesterday, and today they're coming to fruition. Because if you know anything about like portals, it was the 8-8 portal, like August 8th. And I was sitting on the um balcony at that cottage, literally looking to my right, up into the hills in souk, and thinking, like, who lives up there in that mountain? You know, like, um just kind of putting it out there, I guess, right? Being more intentional. I was looking up places to get your hair done where I would get my lashes done, like, you know, where are all these places in souk? We'd never really been into souk. We were in East Souk, where these cottages were, which is like more like nature or whatever. And then yeah, we like go look at this place and all of a sudden he's like, it could be yours. And we're just like, uh, hold on. But he also said, like, if you want something nice that's, you know, dog friendly, like it's gonna be hard to come by if you want to stay in souk, which you had already decided, like you loved souk. It was something about this place that drawed us. You didn't want to be in the hustle and bustle of blank for Victoria. I wanted to be close to mountain biking and uh trails and all that stuff. So yeah. So we literally, you guys left that holiday sending the deposit for this place. And in the moment of sending the deposit on the way back to the ferry, I realized, oh my God, Julie said we were gonna live on the west coast of Canada. My jaw hit the ground because I'd forgot she said this. Cause this was like how many months ago? November to May. And I literally messaged her and I was like, Julie, you will not believe it just happened. Of course, she doesn't remember what she says in sessions. And I just said, Am I on the right track? Like, should we be doing this? Because suddenly I'm like feeling a little sick to my stomach because we don't make decisions like this. And it was the next morning I said to you, like, Brian, what are we doing? And you're like, You literally said, Fuck it. I'm turning 40 next year. I wanted to live in BC my whole life. Let's do it. And the fact that you made a quick decision was weird because I'm usually the one that makes the quick decisions.
SPEAKER_00It's scary to make a quick decision for sure.
SPEAKER_01But it was like the best decision ever. And Julie confirmed on the phone or on the message that day. She's like, This is literally the best move ever. Your guides are basically jumping up and down saying, like, this is the best thing for you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So the some of the techniques that I remember I had used to get us there were were pretty neat. So I had really started using uh a journal and writing like affirmations, but writing affirmations alone is not gonna get you anything. You what really you really have to do is get into the feeling. You have to change your physical physical state to get on that vibration, like act as if, right? So I remember one day, I think I was actually at my brother's in Calgary, and I had been doing some uh meditation on this a bit. And the meditation I did this one day, I was picturing, I was actually picturing Canmore. But the thing about the universe is it's always gonna give you what is best for you, not what you think is best, right?
SPEAKER_01It's like the creator has a better plan for you, and you can't be exactly.
SPEAKER_00So when I was in this one um meditation, I was I had this whole thing of what my day looked like. I was we were gonna go on a holiday to Hawaii on this day, but we were leaving from Canmore and we were doing all the things in the house and getting in the car, driving an hour to the airport to get to the airport. Well, we live exactly one hour from the airport from here. Yeah, but the thing is when I was in this meditation, my body was like getting hot and my heart was pumping with like excitement. Like I'm sitting there on a bed, completely motionless, and I am like jumping up and down my skin basically, um thinking about this. Like I got so in the emotion that I was my body was having a physical reaction to what I was thinking.
SPEAKER_01It's crazy because when you vividly like imagine something that strongly, your brain doesn't even know if it's real or not.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, your subconscious has no idea. The thing that happens to us on a day-to-day basis and why we don't manifest anything though, is because we are doing the exact exact thing but with the opposite emotion. We're thinking of worst case scenario all the time. So we can get we can put our body in a fight and flight response day to day, thinking about all the things that the worst outcome of everything, worrying.
SPEAKER_01Oh amen over here. I'm such a worrier. And why is like 90% of our thoughts negative? Like, isn't that a stat or something? Like it's an abs it's an obscene amount of thoughts in a day that are negative.
SPEAKER_00And it's it's the hardest thing to overcome. And I think um overcoming that is you be basically become a different person by trying to overcome that all the time until you become the person that thinks more positively and puts a positive spin on things. Like it's so hard to do because our our human nature tries to default everything to negative because it's a protectionary, you know, mechanism of evolution, right?
Feeling States, Meditation, And Action
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's so true. And it's like it this human nature and like all the distractions in life that we have, it's so much easier to like numb out to a Netflix series or to numb out to something like sc doom scrolling or just scrolling social media or watching a million cat videos. Like you look at how we waste time in our day when we could be having awareness and like bringing attention to something, like put in a productive podcast, start journaling, read 10 pages a day. Like the other night I went to bed and you were reading instead of just whatever else. You know, it's like little things like that. It's like you have to become the person that would the person that has those things would do this stuff now, so you gotta do it before. And when we would journal, we would journal and say, I am so happy and grateful now that. I think that was from Jim Rohn, wasn't it? That had that?
SPEAKER_00Uh I think it was Bob Proctor.
SPEAKER_01Or Bob Proctor, sorry. Yeah. That's what I meant when I said that. Um, and you write it as in a state that you already have it. And I remember even saying, I'm so happy and grateful now that I um how would I word it? Naturally and I forget how I said it, birthed my son, Marty. I didn't realize I was even naming him before I was pregnant with him, and I didn't even tell you his name was Marty until long after I was pregnant with him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So it was like I might I was even doing that with having a kid. But, anyways, you guys, it's so weird going back to like moving out here and all of that transpiring so quickly. We literally left this holiday, this four-day holiday, heading to the ferry, calling our parents on the ferry with their only grandson at the time, who was 18 months old, and we said we're moving to the island. Like they probably didn't believe us because it was such an out of left field decision. Like we're selling our dream home and we're, you know, renting, which is also crazy. We had been homeowners for like 15 years, but we knew that we'd, I mean, you'd been on the island for three days of your life. We're gonna buy something where we didn't know like where on the island we'd want to be. So we thought, if this just gets us there, then we'll figure out the rest later. It was like going with the flow, letting go of what we thought it had to look like. Or because in my mind, it was a five-year plan.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It was not uh uh tomorrow, we're gonna get the keys to our place. And you guys, we were back on the island moving truck in tow and all of the logistical stuff behind us, literally exactly two months later again. It was two months later. Yep. And we had to hustle because we were paying for the rent on this place while paying for the mortgage on that place, and the rent was more than the mortgage, and it was just like it was a double whammy for as long as it took us to figure it out.
SPEAKER_00We were highly motivated.
SPEAKER_01We were highly motivated and we saw the vision, we knew we were coming out here, and like everything fell into place. You know, we uh we ended up actually selling our house um through a private sale, even like for cash. It was just like the way things fell into place was it was perfect. It was perfect, and it was like the universe was saying, Yeah, I'm gonna put all the pieces in place because this is exactly how it's supposed to go. And even moving out here and finding the daycare and the people, and like I could go on for two hours of the connections of people out here.
SPEAKER_00Everything. Everyone has a story about something that they manifested in your life. So what you should do is go back, listen to or go back and um dissect that thing that you manifested in your life with what did you do and just do that again. But more refined because you have more knowledge on kind of how it all works, right? Um, I think one of the biggest parts of manifestation is actually personal growth.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because like we can't manifest something living in the old patterns that we have and expecting a different result.
SPEAKER_01So the definition of insanity.
SPEAKER_00But you can't just like like, oh, I just read a book and now I have I did personal growth. That's not personal growth. Personal growth is like applying the knowledge. Yeah, doing the thing and doing the work, which is why I started doing mushroom journey stuff, because that's personal growth on a level that a book can't do.
SPEAKER_01But it's also why you started doing the meditations and doing the breath work and doing why I started doing the journaling, like, oh my gosh, before Marty, I had such a dialed-in morning routine.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, you change your identity, you become like a person who gets up and works out and journals and reads and sets their. I mean, you win the first hour of your day and stay off your phone while you do it, you'll win the whole day. And any day you wake up and you pick up your phone first thing, and you don't give yourself that little bit of space in the morning for yourself, you watch the whole day go off the rails. Like that's how I feel.
Morning Routines And Environment
SPEAKER_00Well, when you put yourself in that frequency to start the day, like the day just flows smoother. But you also, you know, people get put in your path more often. Those synchronicities start happening, right? And when you hang around with people that are kind of on the same frequency of uh as you in that respect, more things start happening. Like you can't hang around with people that are bumps on a log and expect that you're gonna have an amazing life.
SPEAKER_01Like it's well, and our first mentor that we started working with when I was 24 was a huge um part of our personal growth journey when we started. And I mean, yeah, all the books and all the things, and we love going to events and seminars. And you know, with my Arbon business, like that has been the theme of the whole business is personal growth. And I love that the other thing I want to mention about manifestation is like you cannot manifest what you believe you're unworthy of. And I want that to sink in for a second if you're listening, because I think we are in like a worthiness epidemic, of it, if anything. And it's I don't know, I'm gonna say large in part because of social media and the comparison that goes on. Like comparison is the thief of joy. And I know everybody has had this. You check your phone, you start doom scrolling, you're looking at everybody else's highlight reel, let's not forget, and you start shitting on yourself. Like back in the day, we didn't have that to look at. You just looked at your own life.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, and like we create stories that we're not worthy of this, or no, we're not worthy of that, or someone else did it faster or better or bigger, or this or that. It's like you have to believe that you're worthy of the things that you're wanting. Like our next level of what we're trying to manifest now is crazy. It's big.
SPEAKER_00Actually, it's one of the reasons I wanted to do this podcast because I wanted to get back into this space more seriously, because I feel like when we moved here, it was like all the feelings that I had been thinking about and wanting, I had. I was like, okay, well, I got what I want. I want and I felt like Yeah. It's like I was I'm I'm stuck now moving forward because I'm living in what I always wanted. And what do I do now?
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00It's like because the human humans always need to be growing and and pushing themselves and you know, to to feel to feel the that worthiness, right? And yeah, when we got here, I was I was like, this is amazing, this is awesome. What's next? I don't know. And then you almost like stopped dreaming because I got to that point that I had wanted like my whole life. That's why there always has to be what's next and everything.
Worthiness, Identity, And Bigger Goals
SPEAKER_01And I even think about that with my business. I've been a top-level income earner for going on 11 years, the end of December. And I'm very proud of the business that I have, but I know that I have so much more potential and I want so much more out of this business, but I have to start thinking and acting and getting myself in that feeling that I had. You know, when I first promoted to national vice president, like, do you remember? It was like all we thought about was Maui. Like it was my screensaver because when you promote to national vice president, you get to go to leadership meeting. And it just so happened that the end of my promotion lined up with like that trip was a week and a half later. If I had missed that deadline, I would have waited another year until like the following January. So I was very motivated because that trip could finally be like the reality. And I remember having like a certain income like paycheck in my head. And we got to that hotel in Maui and we had gotten paid that same day. And I opened up my computer and I logged into my back office and I looked and it was the exact literal number that I'd been thinking of manifesting. And I look at my screensaver and then I open look up and the blinds are open and the screensaver is now right there outside. Like now we get to walk down there and be in Maui.
SPEAKER_00Like it was That was so surreal. It was so amazing.
SPEAKER_01It was such a trip. It was such a trip. And I never had been to Maui before, and I wouldn't let myself go until I earned it with my company. And now, you know, this is like our 12th year going in a row or whatever it is now. And Marty's, you know, like I want to go to the yellow slide. He doesn't even know. Like, do you know how hard it was for me to earn this trip? But it's like the next version and vision that I have is like being there with 10 other leaders on my team.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So manifestation has a level of action that needs to be applied for it to happen, right?
SPEAKER_01That's the thing. Manifestation is not sitting and waiting and just thinking and dreaming and writing and wishing. It's actually following the nudges. The nudges. Some people call them god winks. I don't know if this happens to you lots, but this even today this happened to me multiple times where like certain people's names just drop into my head and I'm like, huh. And maybe they reach out to you and you're like weird. I was just thinking about you.
SPEAKER_00I was actually thinking about talking about that because that's part of the science of the quantum realm. Yeah, it happens a lot. Yeah. I'm every I'm sure every single person that's listening to this has listened to has had that happen.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um sometimes I think when we ask for something, um, the universe also tests us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like we ask for something and we get something put in our way, and we're like, you're like, what the heck? This isn't what I asked for. But you need to do that thing to get to the next step, or you need to become that person that that hardship is putting you through to handle the next step when you get there. Like there's always, you know.
SPEAKER_01I always say you lessons keep repeating themselves until you learn them. They do. And it's annoying because it's really true if you look back, right? But yeah, it's like you gotta follow those nudges, you gotta act on the opportunities, you gotta you take small, consistent steps that, you know, on the daily look like maybe they're not moving the needle at all. But if you do it consistently long enough, it's going to, it has to. And always choosing courage over comfort. Like it's so easy for us to just want to stay in our comfort zones. And I think, especially since the pandemic, like, I don't know. I don't know if it was age or becoming a mom or just the pandemic or moving across the country where I knew nobody that made me feel like way more recluse than I've ever felt. Because I'm I'm a real people person. But sometimes it is just like, do I want to get dressed up and go out and like put myself in situations where I don't know a lot of people to meet people, or do I want to stay home? It's like I have to really force myself sometimes to do it. I'm always glad that I do it.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's one of the things that um that one mentor Keith taught us is you know, be comfortable being uncomfortable. Yeah, be comfortable being uncomfortable. I now when I'm not doing uncomfortable things, I I'm hard on myself because it's you're not growing if you're comfortable.
SPEAKER_01No. And like we're not people who want to not grow. I want to-that's the point of life, isn't it? Like personal development and manifesting like the next thing, the next thing, the next thing is I feel like is the human experience. Like that is life. It's like I don't think there's ever gonna be a time when we're like, we've arrived.
SPEAKER_00No, you never arrive anywhere.
SPEAKER_01I think if you think you have, then that's maybe an ego issue or something. But there's always something you can learn, always something that can be next, and not out of a need of being like greedy or just wanting more. You know what I mean? Like, how do you explain what I'm trying to say there?
Service Over Money And Breakthroughs
SPEAKER_00Um, well, it's just like yeah, you you can want$100 million and it doesn't have to be out of greed, because what if your person who had$100 million are gonna go help, you know, millions of people with that hundred million dollars, right?
SPEAKER_01You know, you know what's funny with money? It's like I remember this saying that money magnifies who you already are. So if you're a person who's good-hearted and really wants to help people, if you are given more money, you will do more great things with it. If you're like a literal a-hole and you get more money, you're probably gonna do things that don't matter or buy five more houses and six more cars.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, it's like I want to be like universe creator. I am a good person, I want to do good things, and I think it's not all about money. Our president of Arban used to always say, Money's not everything, but it's right up there with oxygen. And I believe that. And I think like not that money buys you happiness, but money buys you things that can create memories, and the memories are I think what cause the happiness in life.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it it's weird thinking about manifesting money in things because it's there used to be a world where none of this existed. So true. It was just us in the forest. You know what?
SPEAKER_01Something else just talking this out reminds me of when Keith Kochner, who was our original mentor, he had said, you know, people chase money like a dog chases its tail.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it's like what happens when a dog chases its tail? It's like, you know, picture a dog chasing its tail like running in circles like a crazy dog. It might like get the tail and it nips it, but then what happens? It yelps. Yeah, and let's go. And you're still chasing it, chasing it, chasing it. His perspective that he taught us has changed everything for me. And for me, that was the shift from the third to the fourth level of management in my business because he started saying, stop chasing money and start chasing service of other people. Because when you chase service and helping other people, money then starts chasing you. And I'd been at a point in my business at the third level of management. This is just an example, like a tangible example, that I felt stuck at that level for six years. And I was like, what is going on? And it was because I was making it about me, what I wanted. You know, I wanted that trip to Maui, I wanted that extra income, I wanted that title and that whatever pat on the back. But when I made it about what, oh my gosh, okay, if I'm gonna get to that top level, it's from helping enough other people with what they want and like chasing service of others and helping people with products and income and all the things. And suddenly I did that, and one year later we promoted. It was like I felt like I was hitting a block for six years, and then I had a perspective change. And in one year, so you became a different person.
SPEAKER_00I did my identity. Your results change.
SPEAKER_01My identities change, and that's the thing, you guys. If your identity shifts, you create a shift in your reality. Like that is what happens. And again, going back to worthiness, like you have to feel like you're worthy of that thing. And I think sometimes we say we want things, but deep down we actually don't think we're worthy of that thing. And if you don't think you're worthy of it, you'll never have it, no matter how much you say you want it.
SPEAKER_00I think having uh like a virtuous, worthy goal makes all the difference too. Like doing something for your family or something else. Like, I want to get this so I can do this with all these people, right? I think it has more power.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, having a really deep reason why. Oh god, I feel like this conversation could go a million ways and it could just never end it.
SPEAKER_00It really could.
SPEAKER_01I guess we're gonna need to end it at some point. I think the biggest thing is you guys, manifestation works when you become the version of you who already has the things that you say you want.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So it's a daily process.
SPEAKER_00And there's there's a thousand different ways to get to the same result. And all the different ways of manifesting that I've heard, the different techniques, they all boil down to the same thing, like I said at the start. And it's getting in that feeling. It's all about the feeling.
Growth As A Couple And Recommended Resources
SPEAKER_01There's a really good book called Um The Desire Map by Danielle Laporte. If you're looking for a resource, and we can link that in the show notes. Um, anything else we might think of will add into there if you guys want to get on that journey. But yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, there's a book called Feeling is a secret. Um, there's stuff by Neville Goddard. There's so many good authors. Like um, Neville Goddard's a really, really good one to talk or to get into manifestation. He's kind of like the I don't know what the godfather, but the one that most people talk about when they're talking about manifestation.
SPEAKER_01Can you believe that when I started my business and I said, I gotta read? And you're like, I don't read. And I'm like, I think what you're saying is you don't like reading, you're slow at reading, but like I apparently for this business to grow, I gotta grow as a person. And so I gotta start reading books, not just gossip magazines. And I remember saying to you, we're either gonna grow together, we're gonna grow apart. And the next night you were laying in bed reading a book, and I feel like you have never stopped the personal growth journey since that day.
SPEAKER_00Well, I didn't like the feeling that I would have felt if I grew apart from you. So you chose to grow, grow with me and grow together, and it's been way more fun. It's I think part of you know what keeps us together all these years. Like I think I just heard of another couple separating because they grew apart.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. Yeah, it's really common. And I think um, I mean, we're celebrating almost 15 years being married and just had our 25-year anniversary being together. And I do attribute so much of this to me starting my business 20 years ago and uh almost 20 years ago, and us getting on this personal growth journey together. And I don't know, I learned so much from you. Like I feel like you're you're a sponge when it comes to I'm a sponge, yes.
SPEAKER_00The hard thing for me is articulating it and getting putting it all in order to regurgitate it out. That's what's hard for me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Anyway, I just encourage you guys if you're listening and you think this stuff is kind of weird. I mean, I think Brian thought it was kind of weird in the beginning too. When I got into, you know, working with my friend Julie, you're like, this is weird. But then all of a sudden you booked your own appointment and she was so bang on, and then you kind of got into that world a little bit more, and now you're the one meditating and you're the one doing breath work and you're the one doing all these things that like wasn't you not long ago.
SPEAKER_00Well, hey, I grew.
SPEAKER_01It's amazing. Like, no one should think, like, oh, you've changed. It's like the point is to change.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_01So there's so much about manifestation, it's a pretty cool topic. If I think if you're just starting your personal growth journey too, that starting with something like The Secret is a pretty cool book.
SPEAKER_00It's a it's a neat intro. It opens up a lot of doorways. Um and then getting into yeah, like Neville Goddard would be an amazing one. Joe Dispenza, um, meditations, like yeah, there's a lot of science behind meditating at certain times of day before you go to bed, when you wake up, because you're in a different uh frequency with your brain.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
Closing Reflections And Listener Invite
SPEAKER_00Yeah, your brain waves are a different frequency, and your, you know, your body's more um suggestive. Your brain's more suggestive. But uh man, yeah, we could go on and on about this, but I think that would be good good for now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we'll leave it there, you guys. Thanks for tuning in and learning a little bit more about manifestation and some fun stories that we've had over the years.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, if you guys got some cool manifestation stories, send them over.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we'd love to hear from you guys. Love any feedback. Um, if this resonates with you, or you're thinking of somebody, somebody's name dropped into your head, little whisper in your ear, um, send it to them. Share the love. This is the love movement. And I think talking about topics like this, just do nothing but spread, spread the love and spread the vibration.
SPEAKER_00So absolutely get out there and manifest, everybody.
SPEAKER_01Thanks for being here.
SPEAKER_00Stay awesome. Peace.
