Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament, has a positive view on the role of tongues and their benefit to the church: “Now I want you all to speak in tongues” (1 Cor 14:5) and “I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you” (1 Cor 14:18).
praying in our personal prayer language, which is given so that we can build ourselves up “on [our] most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” (Jude 1:20).
1 Corinthians 14:2 (NKJV) – “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.”
Earthly language may flow from our lips or even tongues of angels. We are yeilding to the Spirit by bypassing our soul (mind) and allowing the Holy Spirit to stir up within us and pray the perfect will of God over situations known and unknown. I've personally seen it change situations and save lives in the earth realm. It is activated by FAITH . What an honor to participate in this gift releasing mountain moving syllables unbeknownst to the enemy of our souls!
We can learn to interpret what is bubbling up from our Spirit and be edified and even find answers for our hardest questions, when we do go into our gift of tongues, we have the amazing privilege of being able to pray His perfect prayers that directly line up to Father God via the Holy Spirit.
And since the Holy Spirit knows how to pray a perfect prayer from God's heart, how awesome is it that we only need to yield to play a part in this process.
How do you receive this gift?
Come under your Creators Lordship acknowledging Him as Lord of your life.
Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, His breath is the wind of power to do what He has created you to do. Be baptized by a Spirit filled bible preaching believer/group that will love you and disciple you. If you don't have that the Holy Spirit is a Wonderful Counselor and Teacher leading you into all TRUTH.
NOW, easy, ask Him for it. Hold out your hands like you're about to receive a special gift and just begin to utter syllables like la la la la la la la la la...
Some receive it all at once like a downpour and some receive it little by little but the POWER is the same. Remain faithful and consistent.
PS. There are so many testimonies I could share but here's just one, there was a successful business man who had just passed away and the Holy Spirit asked another man if he knew about the successful man. He did. Holy Spirit told him how much money he had made and that he could've made 4 times as much if he would've prayed in tongues through out the day like Theresa mentioned in her podcast.
