Growth Instigators Hotline
#305 Fly specks! Fly specks!
We often climb ladders only to discover they're against the wrong walls, but fulfillment isn't something you find—it's something you intentionally build through clarity, courage, and small pivots.
• Pay attention to what makes you feel most alive and when you feel most like yourself—your joy is not random, it's a roadmap
• Make your calendar reflect your values—fulfillment fades when there's a gap between what you say matters and how you live
• Stop waiting for "later" to start living well—you just need one choice that moves you closer
• Ask yourself: what's one small shift I can make to move closer to a life I love?
Leave a message after the beep or email Aaron@growthinstigators.com sharing your name, location, what brings you deep joy, and one change you can make to live more intentionally. Tune in tomorrow for the weekend edition.
There's a quote or a saying goes something like this Wouldn't it stink to spend a bunch of time climbing a ladder only to find out it was against the wrong wall? Yeah, that would stink. What if fulfillment isn't something you find but something you build? Welcome to message 305 of the Growth Instigators Hotline, where we ignite your personal and professional development. I'm Aaron Havens, your host and growth coach. Fulfillment Friday how to build a life you love. This message especially goes out to my good buddy from Florida. You know who you are. Thank you for the quote today.
Speaker 1:There's a myth we've been sold that one day we'll stumble into the life we love, that if we just keep working, earning, waiting, it'll all click into place. But here's what I've learned A life you love isn't discovered, it's designed, it's built one decision at a time, with clarity, courage and a whole lot of small pivots. Harvey is one of my all-time favorite movies. Here is a quote that once you hear it, you can't shake it. After Dr Chomley sees Harvey, he tells Jimmy Stewart fly specs, fly specs. I've been spending my life among fly specs, while miracles have been leaning on lampposts at 18th and Fairfax. Yeah, my friends, build a kind of life that is alive, not focused on fly specs. Here are three ways to start building that kind of life.
Speaker 1:Pay attention to what makes you feel most alive, what you are doing when time flies, when you feel the most like yourself. Take notes. Your joy is not random, it's a roadmap. Second thought make your calendar reflect your values. If family, health or creativity matters to you, they should be visible in how you spend your life. Fulfillment fades when there's a gap between what you say matters and what you live out. And the last thought today is stop waiting for quote unquote later. You don't need a perfect season to start living well. You just need one choice that moves you closer.
Speaker 1:Today, Start where you are as you head into the weekend. Can you pause and ask yourself this what's one small shift I can make to move closer to a life I love? A change in habit, schedule, mindset or connection? A meaningful life isn't something you arrive at. It's something you build step by step. Thank you for calling Growth Instigators Hotline. I'd love to hear from you for real. Leave a message after the beep or send an email to Aaron at growthinstigatorscom and let me know what's your name, where are you calling from and what's one thing that brings you deep joy right now, and what's one change you can make to live more intentionally.
