Growth Instigators Hotline
#328 Sporadic, indecisive, calculated?
A group of hikers set off into the woods confident and full of energy, but as the trail split into winding paths, their pace slowed. One group stood still, unsure which way to go. Another followed a loud but aimless leader who kept changing directions. But a third followed someone who calmly pointed out the map, marked the destination and laid out the route. They moved slower at first, but they never stopped. Clarity doesn't always feel fast, but it keeps people moving. Welcome to message 328 of the Growth Instigators Hotline, where we ignite your personal and professional development. I'm Aaron Havens, your host and growth coach.
Speaker 0:Winning Leadership Wednesday leading with clarity. Which trail leader would you follow and which group would you rather be in? Or maybe, to take it a step closer, which kind of leader are you? Sporadic with energy, indecisive with pause, or calculated with clarity? I used to run a thousand miles a minute, trying this, trying that, making quick decisions and guess what? That didn't work out so well. One sure way for me to make a wrong decision is to just go for it without clarity.
Speaker 0:Clarity is one of the most underrated leadership gifts you can offer. Uncertainty creates friction, vagueness kills momentum. But when people know where they're going and why they rise? This week, I walked through a strategy session with the team that had talent, energy and buy-in, but everyone was foggy about what mattered most. Once we named the direction and next step, the whole room shifted. People didn't need more motivation, they needed more clarity.
Speaker 0:Clarity builds confidence. People move when they know what's expected and why it matters. Clarity prevents wasted time. You don't have time to solve problems that don't exist. Clear goals remove guesswork, and clarity strengthens teams. When leaders are clear, alignment follows. When they're not, confusion multiplies. So here's a good question to reflect on. Where do people need more clarity from you right now? If your leadership team is stuck in ambiguity and your culture feels busy but unfocused, I help organizations clarify mission messaging and execution.
