Growth Instigators Hotline
#330 Where are you gripping too tightly?
Peace comes not from controlling everything around us but from loosening our grip and aligning our actions with our values. Like trees bending in the wind, we find true strength in flexibility rather than rigid resistance to life's inevitable flows.
• Most of us aren't really chasing success - we're chasing inner peace
• Peace rarely appears in loud moments - it emerges when we stop controlling everything
• Inner peace grows when we let go of trying to control every outcome
• Peace deepens when we align our actions with our core values
• Peace becomes a habit through intentional practices like prayer, stillness, or walks without phones
• True fulfillment comes from who we become, not just what we accomplish
If your team is stressed, stretched or stuck in an urgent culture, visit growthinstigators.com to schedule a discovery call about building rhythms and creating inner and organizational calm.
A man spent his whole life trying to control everything the traffic, his team, the way people responded to him. The tighter he held on, the more life resisted. One day he sat in silence and noticed the wind blowing through trees. They didn't fight it, they just bent. He realized peace didn't come from gripping harder. It came from loosening his grip.
Speaker 1:Welcome to message 330 of the Growth Instigators hotline, where we ignite your personal and professional development. I'm Aaron Havens, your host and growth coach. Fulfillment Friday how to cultivate inner peace. Doesn't that man sound like you? Yep, it sounds like me, especially the younger version of me.
Speaker 1:Where are you gripping too tightly? So much of life is going to happen with or without us. It's like swimming in the oceans. The ones that master swimming in the ocean and become lifeguards that save lives are the ones that understand the currents and swim with the flow, not against it. Is your inner self swimming against the universe's currents? Let's be honest. Most of us aren't chasing success. We're chasing peace, and most of the time we look for it in the wrong places. Inner peace doesn't mean life is quiet. It means your mind is, and that takes practice.
Speaker 1:Over the years, I've learned that peace rarely shows up in the loud moments. It shows up when I stop trying to control everything and start aligning my actions with what I value. Here's what I've noticed Peace grows when I let go of control. When I try to hold on to everything, I get tangled. When I loosen my grip, things breathe. Peace deepens when I align my values. If I'm saying yes to things that don't match what I believe, I'm trading peace for pressure.
Speaker 1:And last thought today is peace becomes a habit when I make space for it, whether it's prayer, stillness, breath work or walks without a phone. Peace comes when I pursue it on purpose. I'm learning fulfillment isn't just about what I accomplish. It's about who I become along the way and whether I'm at peace on the inside or not. If your team is stressed, stretched or stuck in urgent culture, I help leaders build rhythms and create inner and organizational calm. Visit growthinstigatorscom and let's schedulea discovery call.
