#335 By you doing… you could actually be undoing

Aaron Havens Season 4 Episode 335

Have you ever hit a wall of "blah" where your motivation seems to vanish completely? This episode tackles the universal challenge of maintaining inspiration when you're feeling uninspired and unmotivated.

The key insight might sting a little: "You can't stay inspired if all you're doing is producing." Many of us operate under the misguided belief that inspiration randomly strikes us, rather than something requiring intentional cultivation. We continuously drain our creative reservoirs without stopping to refill them, and eventually, the well runs dry.

When we lose sight of our "why" – that bigger picture giving meaning to our daily efforts – our work becomes mechanical, our creativity diminishes, and our unique voice gets lost. This is especially dangerous in today's AI-dominated landscape, where maintaining that authentic human spark becomes both more challenging and more valuable.

I share three practical approaches to rekindle your inspiration: seeking out role models for learning rather than comparison; expanding your learning beyond work-related content through stories, music, and diverse art forms; and engaging in creative activities even when seemingly unrelated to your primary work. The act of creation itself generates energy that transfers to other areas of your life.

Remember, true inspiration doesn't just temporarily excite you – it reconnects you with your authentic self. When feeling stuck or unmotivated, it may signal you've drifted from your core identity. The solution isn't forcing more productivity but finding your way back to who you truly are.

What's currently motivating you? When motivation fades, what actually works for you? Share your thoughts at Aaron@growthinstigators.com – I genuinely want to hear your perspective on fighting the "blahs" and rekindling your creative fire.

Fulfillment Friday how to stay inspired. If you've ever hit a wall of blah, this one is for you. That's right. Inspiration isn't a lightning strike. It's a rhythm and, like anything meaningful, it needs attention. You can't stay inspired if all you're doing is producing Ouch, want to hear that again. You can't stay inspired if all you're doing is producing yeah, no, you've got to pause, refill and reawaken your why. By you doing, you could actually be undoing all you've worked so hard for.

Speaker 1:

Maybe it's time to zoom out and regain a bigger picture of what you're applying your limited efforts at. I get it, the grind is tough and yep. At times you just don't feel like pushing through. Here's a few things that help me keep the fire going. Seek out role models. Watch people who are ahead of you, not to compare but to learn. Their courage fuels mine. Learn Not just self-help books, but read stories.

Speaker 1:

Listen to songs. Let fresh words unlock old parts of you. Expose yourself to wisdom and experience beyond your years. And the last part here to keep your fire going is engage creatively Write, paint, build something, play with something, mold something, even if it has nothing to do with your work. Creation creates energy and when you feel stuck, remember the most powerful. Inspiration doesn't just hype you up, it brings you home to who you are.
