Growth Instigators Hotline
#349 Activity doesn’t equal growth.
Activity without direction is just motion, not growth—like a hamster running on a wheel versus a gardener patiently waiting for seeds to take root. The difference between being busy and being effective lies in whether your actions align with your values, mission, and future.
• Movement without reflection leads to burnout
• Direction matters more than hustle
• Ask if what you're doing contributes to where you want to go
• Growth is slower than motion but deeper
• Don't mistake speed for success
Do you need instigation in your growth? If your team is stuck in cycles of activity without real development, I help leaders refocus on intentional growth. Visit growthinstigators.com or text me at 970-306-6432 to chat about how I can help.

Speaker 0:Thrive and Grow, thursday the difference between movement and growth. Let me give you a quick picture A hamster running on a wheel for hours and hours, constantly in motion, no progress. Meanwhile, a gardener waits patiently while the seed takes root below the surface. One is busy, the other is growing. Here's the one idea I want to land today.
Speaker 0:Activity doesn't equal growth. Direction does Don't mistake movement for growth. You can pack your day with meetings, tasks and productive productivity hacks, but if none of it moves you towards your values, towards your mission, towards your future, it's just noise. Author Stephen Covey puts it this way it's incredibly easy to be busy without being effective. Isn't that true? Here's what I've noticed Movement without reflection leads to burnout.
Speaker 0:If you don't pause to ask, why am I doing this, you'll stay in motion and miss your mission. Tell your limited calories where to go. If not, you'll find yourself running wild and never really getting anywhere. Growth also requires direction, not just hustle, but habits that align with where you want to go. Ask yourself is what I'm doing right now actually contributing to getting me where I'm going? If not, why? Why are you doing it?
Speaker 0:And the last thought today is growth is slower than motion, but it's deeper. Don't mistake speed. For success, roots take time. So here's the question what in your life looks like movement but isn't leading to real growth? Hey, I'm here for you. Do you need instigation in your growth?
