#420 Watches. Correct twice a day.

Aaron Havens Season 5 Episode 420
SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to Growth Instigators Hotline. I'm Aaron Havens, your host and growth coach. This is message 420. This week we've been talking about watches, an everyday normal object that we can assign deeper meaning to. Something that can grab our attention and represent something bigger. Welcome to part 5 of 5 as we dive into lessons we can glean from watches. So my daughter has a broken watch that she received from someone like my grandma's grandma or something like that. It's a tiny little gold watch that is beautiful. My daughter says she loves wearing it even though it doesn't work. Let's look at what's broken today. Let's look at what's not working today. Let's look at when life and someone around you isn't quote unquote your type of person. Here's a fact. Even the broken watch is correct twice a day. Stay humble. Even those you disagree with might hold the truth you've overlooked. Are you stuck in your ways? So stuck in your ways that you can potentially miss the truth that's right in front of you? In a world that seems to be creating great divides and boisterous declarations, maybe if we could just pause for a second, pour a cup of coffee, get to know that person, the divides would be a little less harsh. Now I'm not getting political, I'm not getting spiritual, I'm just posing this simple reminder. Don't be someone that is so focused that you miss what is right in front of you. May your watch remind you to stay humble, be truth, and be life, and be love seekers today. Even if the watch is broken, it's correct twice a day. We can learn from anyone and anything if we are willing. That, my friend, is how an everyday object can instigate growth. Now I'd like to hear some more of your observations. What growth lessons can you apply to watches? For those of you calling in on Growth Instigator Hotline, I'd love to hear your thoughts after the beep.
