Hotline Intro And Leadership Frame
SPEAKER_00You're listening to the Growth Instigators Hotline. I'm Aaron Havens, and this is Message 600. If you're alive, you're leading something, a company, a family, a classroom, or just yourself. And what makes you better at one makes you better at all of them. So let's grow.
Message 600 And The Growth Focus
SPEAKER_00A quick note before we start though, this is message 600. That's right. That's 1800 minutes, a full 30 hours we've spent together, three minutes at a time. And through every single one, the one thing that's mattered most hasn't changed, and that's growing you. Because when you grow personally, the professional part takes care of itself, however, that ends up looking for you. So let's keep going and let's keep growing together.
When Speed Feels Like Progress
SPEAKER_00I want to talk about speed today. Specifically, the kind of speed that feels like progress, but it's actually just you missing the really, really important things very efficiently. Here's what I mean.
Autopilot Driving And Real Risk
SPEAKER_00Ever driven somewhere completely familiar? And then you arrive with no memory of the drive, you didn't see the road, your hands just drove. Your brain, though, was on vacation. Most of the time that's fine. The dangerous part is when something changes on the road. A kid chasing a ball, a car stopped, a patch of ice, and you're going too fast to have even noticed it there. That's not a driving problem, that's a life problem. We think our mistakes come from being careless or scared or not good enough, but a whole lot of the time the real culprit is just much less flattering. It's when we are moving too fast and it was already there, we missed it. It was a warning sign, it wasn't hidden, we just blew right past
Slowing Down To See Clearly
SPEAKER_00it. Slowing down isn't weakness, it's the whole trick. That's right. Clarity has to come before movement because you cannot steer around a danger you were going too fast to see. Here's the part that's funny. Nobody ever ever brags about the disaster they avoided. There's no trophy for I paused, I looked, and therefore nothing happened. The best decision you make today might be completely invisible. And that's exactly why it's worth
Invisible Wins Plus The Big Question
SPEAKER_00making. Look, I'm a growth coach and I I love doing this. Whether it's one-on-one or with you personally, or up on a stage at your company retreat, or anything in between. If that's something you want, come find me at growthinstigators.com. But for today, here's the one question to sit with Where in your life are you moving fast enough to feel productive, but too fast to actually see what you're building? Until next time, my friends, go slay the day.
