You can read another book, buy another planner, and hunt for the next “secret” growth strategy, but none of that matters if you’ve stopped doing the basics. We get honest about a frustrating truth: you never actually graduate from fundamentals. The most effective personal growth tools are often the simplest, and that’s why they’re easy to ignore.

We center everything around three questions that act like a compass for self-leadership and mindset. First: Where am I going? Not a grand, dramatic purpose statement, just a clear direction so you’re not busy without a heading. Second: What am I doing daily? Because your results are built from habits, routines, and ordinary days, not occasional big moments. Third: What am I refusing to hand off? That question exposes where you’re avoiding ownership, letting things drift, or letting someone else decide your life by default.

If you’ve been craving clarity, stronger discipline, better decision making, and practical goal setting that actually sticks, this quick message is a reset you can replay any time you feel off track. Listen, pick the one question you’ve been running on autopilot, and answer it honestly. If it helps, share it with a friend who needs a nudge, and subscribe and leave a review so more people find the basics that change everything.

Welcome to the Growth Instigators Hotline. I'm Aaron Havens and this is message 611.

Why The Basics Still Win

SPEAKER_00

Everybody wants the advanced stuff, but the truth is you never actually graduate from the basics. We treat the fundamentals like a class you pass once and move on from. They're like beneath us now. We want the new trick, the next level, the thing no one told us about. And meanwhile, the stuff that actually runs a good life is the same handful of things it's always been, and most of us walk right past them looking for something fancier.

Three Questions To Recenter

SPEAKER_00

For me, it comes down to three questions. And if you're anything like me, they might resonate with you. And they're simple, but don't confuse simple with easy.

Direction And Your Daily Habits

SPEAKER_00

The first question is this where am I going? Not in a big, dramatic, life purpose way, just do I actually know the direction I'm pointed, or am I busy without a heading? Second, what am I doing daily? Because your life isn't built out of big moments. Oh no, those are fun. But it's built out of ordinary days. And the small stuff you repeat is quietly becoming you.

What You Refuse To Hand Off

SPEAKER_00

The third question is this what am I refusing to hand off? Woo! What am I keeping, protecting, and owning myself instead of letting drift or letting someone else decide for me? Direction, discipline, decision. That's

it. That's the whole thing. And here's why I keep coming back to them. You never finish these. You don't answer where am I going once and coast. You answer it again this year and next year, today and tomorrow, and it's a little different each time. These aren't boxes you check, they're questions you keep living inside of your whole life. So don't go looking for something more advanced today. Go back to the basics you think you already know and actually do them. So here's the question today: which of these three have you been running on autopilot? Hoping it kind of sort itself out. And if you want to hand answering any of these honestly, that's what I do. I'm a growth coach. Just leave a message after this message or find me at growthinstigators.com and let's chat. Until next time, go slay the day, my friends.
