A Mother Speaks To Her King Son

Rich wisdom from King Lemuel’s Momma.

Echo these words to our children and grandchildren in declaration prayer and teaching. 

Example: “I declare and decree my son is a king and he  ______________ does not expend his energy on women nor his wealth on those or what ruins kings.”

Yeah, I was just sitting with the Lord, had some quiet time here on this vacation in this beautiful room and overlooking the the beautiful city. What a beautiful view. Wow. And just being able to have time with the Lord. I'm not into gambling. I'm not into casinos, but here we are. And and um it's just opportunities to meet people and minister and and you know we have a light. And when God is within us, that light pierces the darkness and goes before us and shines and and brings joy to people. It brings hope to people. Whether we say anything or not, our presence changes the atmosphere. So walking through those casinos on our way to a restaurant or whatever, we're just releasing the love of God. And and God knows what to do with that. And it's just it's submission instead of, you know, we're not afraid of it or whatever, but we've just chosen to not to not gamble as it just is a foolish thing to do, in my opinion. Um, yeah, it looks fun, but anyway. So to those of you who gamble, that's between you and God. So um, yeah, so I turned to this chapter when I when I was just sitting with the Lord and and it's a familiar one. It's Proverbs 31, and of course we think of the Proverbs 31 woman, and I love it. And it's it's also about the bride of Christ. And you know, the Hebrew language has over a hundred ways of what's the word? Um understanding uh a verse or a scripture or even a word or a part of a word. It's deep and it's you're just never done learning the depths and the searching out the wisdom of God through through his word. It is it is such a joy and so rich. It is it is prime stake. So, but that's not the part that I felt God wanted me to focus on. It was the first part, Psalm 31, 1 through 9. So here I'm speaking as I'm a mom of five beautiful children and grandchildren as well, and it says the sayings of Lemuel, king of Masa, taught him by his mother. So here is a little bit of what a mother was teaching her son who was a king. Now, if men and boys are believers, they are kings, or they are princes in training to be a king, right? So we are kings with a lowercase K compared to the king of kings, but we are kings on this earth and and we have um dominion and authority, and we're learning to rule and reign. So here she is. Listen to her wisdom. We're just gonna we're just gonna be a sponge and soak up what she thinks is the most important thing she would say to her son. First of all, she is enamored by him, she is in love with this son, she is in awe of this this son, so strong, like a pillar, and and just so such a gift from God. She says, What my son? What son of my womb? What son of my vows? And these are all exclamation points. So she's first just expressing her absolute delight in being given this gift of her son. And then she says, Do not expend your energy on women. That's the first thing out of her mouth, and it is probably the strongest. I have a teenage son right now. Probably the strongest emotion is that longing for the opposite sex, for the, you know, to be with to be with a woman. And and that that's a God-given thing that He's put in us. But don't you just feel like during those, you know, preteen and teen years, boys are learning how to master that and not be under their emotions, but be over their emotions. If if they're to rule and reign in life, it starts with their own body. And that's why there's such a powerful prayer. Commanding, I command my body and my soul to submit to my spirit and my spirit to the Holy Spirit. And when those times of temptation come and it just seems like it's just flooding, flooding, flooding, flooding, reach for the word of God. Look toward Papa and begin to praise, begin to talk to him, begin to lift him up and and ask him, Lord, teach me tools, teach me ways that that I can overcome whenever this this spirit or this these you know these emotions, hormones, feelings are just raging. And God will always provide a way out. No temptation has seized you that that is um that isn't common to man, but the Lord will always provide a way out. So do not expend your energy on women nor your wealth on those who ruin kings. So those who ruin kings would be friends that are less than where God is taking you. You want to have friends that are where you want to go. So some friends you're gonna have to just say um no. And you're gonna have to ask God, give me friends that are where I where you need me to go. And sometimes these he may say, I'm not gonna give you friends at this season. You're just gonna bond with me. We're gonna go out in the wilderness together, and you're just gonna really bond with me until until you know that I am all you need. And then he may release friends to you. But friends um that are lifting you up and sharpening you, they're not gonna let you stay stagnant. Um, they're not comforting friends, they're not comfortable. They're a little bit, they're a little bit spiky pokey. Um, because they see the greatness in you, and they're not gonna let you get away with staying under a rock or or choosing um less than you know your potential or what you know. They can they can see in you greatness and they're drawing it out. And oh no money, no money can can uh replace that or or buy that. That's a gift from God. Don't get me wrong, you know, there'll be friends to have fun with and and and that's for sure, but you it's okay to be violent in this arena and say no to to friends that may be comfortable, friends that you know will will just empath emp what's the word, empathize with you instead of saying, hey, let's get up, let's go for a run, you know, instead, oh I just want to sit here and eat this ice cream and and just sleep for three days. And no, no, no, let's go, let's go, and and get your get get your own butt up and go with your friends. Oh, that's great. And also, wealth, don't don't um expend your wealth on those who ruin kings. Don't expend your wealth on what ruins kings, like material stuff, like drugs. That that takes out a king and very quick, and that is demonic attack to do such. That's a that's a weapon of the enemy. So be aware and be on your guard and um call out the name of the Lord in in times where where there's temptation or pressure, and he will show himself faithful to you. It's not for kings, O Lemuel, not for kings the drinking of wine. Wow. Here I am sitting in an what they call Sin City. That's what you know man has called it, but what does God say the city is? That's what I want to call the city of Las Vegas. So to me, he's he's he's calling it a city of hope. Um, but there's a lot of alcohol here, there's a lot of gambling, there's a lot of people trying to escape and hide and drowned out sorrow or or or hoping, misplaced hope, hoping for money that they think will solve all their problems, maybe. Um so that's not for kings. This isn't a place for kings. The drinking of wine and and wasting money. Not for princes, the love of liquor. For fear that in liquor they forget what they have decreed and pervert the course of justice against all the poor. Now there's a clue to what's on this mama's heart. After she says, stay away from women, stay away from friends who ruin kings, stay away from wine and liquor. Um she doesn't want the the to pervert the course of justice against all the poor. So we're gonna skip down. Make your views heard. Now here she's telling her son, speak up. Speak up what is in your heart, son. Don't keep silent on behalf of the dumb. The dumb are those who cannot speak for themselves. They do not have a voice, whether it's unborn children, babies, children, the minorities, those who have not been given a voice by culture or society. She's telling her king's son, you are to speak up for them and to fight for their cause. And I see people, I see champion men doing that today in our time that are that are speaking up for those minorities. And um one of them is Tim Tim Tebow. Oh my gosh, I know there's a lot of them. Another one is Kirby, the Lannerol. They are fighting for for justice for those who are you know marginalized. So she says, make your views heard, son. Speak up on behalf of the dumb, on behalf of all the unwanted, make your views heard. Like find whatever platform you can. Find find your your place where where you have a um of a voice that you can share. And God will put a microphone in front of your voice because He wants your heart to be heard across the nations, and He will He will amplify you and He will bless you. Pronounce an upright verdict. So there's no compromise, there's no, you know, somebody coming along saying, I'm gonna give you some money here if you if you don't, if you just don't mention that subject. No, no, no, no, no. He's going to be honest, and he's not gonna take bribes. So um make your views heard, pronounce an upright verdict, defend the cause of the poor and the wretched. This, and that's the end of it. This is what's on this mother's heart. This heart of wisdom, this heart of so much love. And she she wants to see her son walk the straight and narrow path and walk a life of integrity. And she's putting up these guardrails and saying, Here it is, son. I I don't want you going off to the right or to the left. Keep your eyes focused in front of you and be sharp and have have people in your life that are where you want to go, where you need to go in your life. And and um that so this advice was just just really ministering to my heart as I do have a teenage son, and the pressures are out there, are intense, and um so we pray, we pray for for our sons and our grandsons, and and those there are sons out there that don't have praying parents, you know, or maybe even parents, and so we can step in and and be that be that spiritual parent for them as well. So yeah, just meditate on that Proverbs 31 and and um and I and I hope that blesses you. All right, bye.
