Welcome back to Business Blueprint for Online Coaches. I'm your host, brie Norberg, and today we're going to talk about how you can set yourself apart in the online space. Let's talk about the coaching landscape right now. Everywhere you go, you see an online coach. Right, there are so many coaches in the online space. It is wild, and this is because it's an unregulated industry. Ultimately, anybody can become a coach tomorrow, which is great, because we need more coaches, healers, guides, mentors in the world, helping ultimately, like raise the world's consciousness, which is powerful work.
Speaker 1:I believe deeply in the coaching industry. However, that also means there's a lot of bad apples. There are in every industry. Regardless of what business you're talking about, there's always going to be people who are in it for the wrong reasons. They're in it for just for fame, for money they're. They manipulate people into buying. Maybe they're really good marketers and they don't deliver. So it's kind of changed the experience when it comes to consumers choosing a coach. It's created what we call buyer hesitancy. People are a little bit more resistant, hesitant to make a purchasing decision because maybe they've had a bad experience in the past. Partner that with the economic crisis right now. Right, we're borderline in a recession, some people say full-blown recession, so that also adds to the buyer hesitancy.
Speaker 1:And then also AI technology, chatgpt. It's making people's content sound super robotic, ultimately, like you can tell when a caption has been copy and pasted from Chachi Petit. So this has changed the online space. This has changed consumer behavior and people are a little bit more reluctant to make a decision because they don't know who to trust, right? So what does this mean for you? It means that you have an opportunity to stand out. How do we do this? We stand out by prioritizing and showcasing our authenticity, transparency and showing that we are value-based businesses.
Speaker 1:In an age of AI technology, in an age where there is manipulation and sleazeball tactics, the way that you will always stand out is by being authentic, and I know that that's a buzzword, but I think it's a buzzword for a reason because people are craving authenticity, people are craving connection, and yet we are inundated with these manipulatives like almost taking advantage of people's fears, right? These tactics that prey on people's weaknesses. And faceless marketing, like. Let's talk about that for a second. There's a rise of faceless marketing people not actually showing their face, showing who they are in order to build businesses, and that, in and of itself is just removing the authenticity and the connection that could be created if you were to be present and build a personal brand. I believe in my core that Authenticity is always going to beat all of these different strategies, tactics and fads.
Speaker 1:So if you're sitting there thinking like, how am I going to set myself apart right now? How am I going to stand out in this saturated market, my invitation to you would be asking yourself how can I be more of myself? How can I share more of who I am to my audience? How can I showcase the fact that I am driven by my values, that my decisions are influenced by the values that I hold true to my heart? How can I create more connection with my audience? How can I make every single person in my ecosystem feel seen, heard and understood? How can I infuse more of my voice and personality into my copywriting? How can I create more intimacy with the people in my ecosystem, right? So these are all questions that are going to lead you to the answers that will set you apart. So what does this look like in action? It looks like not copy and pasting your chat GPT captions into your content. Okay, if you're doing that right now.
Speaker 1:Like I want you to know, I admire you for leveraging ChatGPT to help build your business. I think there's so much value in AI technology to help you automate systems and ultimately make processes more simple and ultimately make processes more simple. It's great for ideation, like figuring out different topics and igniting creativity. Absolutely, chatgpt is great for that. I use it in my business every single day. However, what we're seeing, what I see, is people are just copy and pasting. They're not even changing one word to make it sound like them, so everybody sounds like a carbon copy of ChatGPT. So if you are using ChatGPT right now for content creation, I want you to stop copy and pasting and figure out a way that you are able to write in your own voice. Chatgpt can also learn your voice, but I believe there's nothing like you speaking directly to your audience, not being 100% influenced by this AI technology.
Speaker 1:Chatgpt can't replicate your voice, personality, perspective, your opinions right, you know those things. And if you don't know those things, that's an opportunity for you. Like, what are your opinions in your industry? What are the values for the people that you serve? Like, what line in the sand do you want to draw when it comes to the work that you do. Those types of things are going to be really powerful in your content because it shows you're driven by your values. It shows that you have something to stand for and people want to work with people who are value driven. They want to work with people who share their same values. So that's another way that you're able to set yourself apart is identifying what are your values. What do you believe to be true about the work that you do? What do you not agree with in your industry, just like with me? You know, chat, gpt, copy and paste captions. That's a value that I hold dear and I'm going to share that with my audience.
Speaker 1:Manipulative marketing and sleazeball tactics that is a villain in my marketing story and I'm going to be outspoken about that. Faceless marketing I am anti-faceless marketing in the high-ticket coaching space. That is a villain in my story, right? So these are different things for me that I want to make sure that I'm public about, because it showcases my values, which are authenticity about. Because it showcases my values, which are authenticity, transparency, connection. These are things that I hold dear to my heart, that I make sure are front and center in my marketing. So this is something that I want you to do as homework Think about what are your top four values in your business and typically, they're also your personal values as well and how can you make them known in your content?
Speaker 1:How can you talk about them consistently? How can you make sure that your audience knows what you stand for? And this often comes with a little resistance and hesitancy, because it leaves you exposed, it's vulnerable to share what you believe in because you don't want to wrestle feathers, you don't want people to disagree with you, you don't want people to think that you're wrong, and I'm here to tell you that, as a leader which you're a leader, we're all leaders as business owners, it's your job to become unapologetic about sharing what you believe in, regardless of the outcome, and that can be scary. But I'm here to tell you it's going to massively impact the business. It's going to be massive. It's it's going to make a huge impact when it comes to building your audience and setting yourself apart.
Speaker 1:And it's not just for the sake setting yourself apart, and it's not just for the sake of, like stirring the pot. It's like we need to be values driven. We need to make decisions, show up online rooted in what we believe in All right, and that is going to help you build that connection with your audience. It's going to help you stand out in a sea of chat, gpt captions, and it could be as simple as going live talking about something that lights your heart on fire. It doesn't have to be complicated, and I would recommend simplifying these things if you find yourself resisting it, because you want it to be pretty perfect, polished, you want to create your Canva template and make sure that you're scripted and you're not going to say things incorrectly or you know. All of these things need to be just stripped and we need to get down to the basics and figure out a way to deliver these things in the most simple way, and that could be just going live on Instagram, on Facebook, whatever platform you use to market and sharing more of you.
Speaker 1:That is my strategy moving forward in 2024 and beyond, and this is something that I've been talking about over and over and over again for the last four years.
Speaker 1:People crave authenticity, they want to know who you are, so I would encourage you to be unapologetic about you, about how you show up, about your beliefs and your values and what you hold true, and I promise you, when you do that, you will become magnetic. People will want to be in your circle. They want to learn from you and listen to you and cheer you on. They will want to work with you when they know that, hey, this girl, this coach, this person, this, whoever you are, this person has something to stand for. This person is honest, transparent. This person is true. It's who they really are in person, online, offline. That's the experience that you want to create for your audience. All right, thank you for listening to this episode. I hope it was helpful for you and that you are getting ideas of how to show up online more authentically, more personally, more of you, and you're never going to copy and paste chat gpt captions again. All right, see you in the next episode.
