Hello everyone and welcome back to Off the Court, where we break down the biggest moments, biggest stories, and unforgettable performances from around the world in tennis. Today we are wrapping up Wimbledon. Two weeks of incredible tennis, surprise runs, breakthrough performances, and finally, new champions have been crowned. But before we get into that, I would like to give a massive shout out to Air Allo for sponsoring today's episode. If you do not know what Air Allo is, head to the link in the description or go back and listen to any of our other amazing episodes where we go in depth about Air Allo. Alright, from a new women's champion announcing herself on the biggest stage to another statement from one of the biggest stars in men's tennis, Wimbledon once again delivered everything we love about sport. The most iconic stage on one of the most iconic days of the tennis calendar. Honestly, opening thoughts, another iconic Wimbledon. There is truly nothing like it. The grass courts, the tradition, the atmosphere, the countless lines, the strawberries and cream, everything. And 2026 did not disappoint. We saw established champions continue to build their legacy. We saw new stars emerging. And we saw those emotional moments that remind us why tennis is such a special sport. This tournament felt like another sign that tennis is entering a new generation. The future is here. The men's final on Sunday. We've already gone back and covered the women's. Go back and listen to that yesterday. The men's final was another reminder of why Yannick Sinner is currently one of the most dominant players in the world. And number one. Facing Sasha Zwerov, Sinna was tested early. Zwerov came out with nothing to lose, taking the opening set and putting pressure on Sinna from the start. But the difference with champions is their ability to respond. However, they're both champions. Sinna stayed calm, found his rhythm, and slowly took control of the match with his incredible movement. Probably feeling a little bit more comfortable because he won the tournament last year. He knew exactly where to go, what to do. Another Wimbledon title, another grand slam, another chapter added to what is becoming one of the defining careers of this generation. The question now isn't whether Sinner can win the biggest tournament. The question is how many more can he add? The question for Sasha now is can he be world number one? He is only very minuscule points, a couple of tournaments away from potentially catching. And if he was to win the US Open per se, or something of that sort, he would jump into world number one. So it's not a big, big gap between the two, and Yannick said that in his post-match interview. It is definitely sort of closer than it has been. Obviously, we saw an amazing run from Djokovic as well. Um, the rise of Lyndon Oskova, um, Arthur Ferry's fairy tale run. We saw Cruz Hewitt making it through to the final in the boys, of course, the son of Wimbledon champion Leighton Hewitt. Um, Wimbledon 2026 felt like a little bit of the changing of the guard, but I'm gonna give you guys my takeaways. We're gonna do a little look ahead, um, and I'm gonna tell you guys what's coming up on the calendar. Um, for me, the biggest takeaways from this year's tournament is that tennis is in an exciting place. There's so many players that are in good positions, they're in good shape, they're physically healthy, they're mentally healthy, and they're able to sort of go a little bit longer than they normally would. You know, we saw an amazing run from Mata Kostiak, we saw an amazing run from Taylor Fritz, we saw an amazing run from Francis Tiafo, uh Coco Goff. Quite a few really good runs. Um, and that's what makes tennis special. Every tournament gives us a new story. Every year we get a new champion, or we sometimes get a repeat champion in this case, but of course we got a new champion on the women's side, so it's beautiful. Um, and yeah, Wimbledon continues to prove white, is the crown jewel of sport, it's got the royal box. There was a lot of discussion about the royal box, who was there? There was Nicole Kidman there today, there was um Caden Wills, there was several other people um of notoriety. But yeah, I mean, it all in all, it was a really good tournament. Um, something that I love and look forward to every year. I've loved recapping it for you guys, and of course, we will do the same recap at the US Open. Um, but turning our attention to the rest of the season, but before we do that, we are gonna have a look at the new ATP and WTA rankings. We love doing this uh every post every grand slam so that we can sort of see. Um obviously we talked a little bit about Sash before, but let's have a little look here. Right, so the men's ATP rankings the top 20. Yannick, Sasha, Alcarez, Oja Aliasim, Alex Diminor in fifth, Ben Shelton in sixth, Novak Djokovic staying at seven. He is literally right on the tails of Shelton actually. Medvedev at eight, Kaboli at nine, Taylor Fritz at ten, Bublik at eleven, Lahechka at twelve, Kasper Rude at thirteen, Musetti, Tien, Tiafo, Menzik, Fokina, Vacharot, and Rublev are your top twenty from twenty one to thirty, Serendulo, Darderi, Phils, Paul, Jadar, Kashnikov, Fonseca, Rindanesh, Umbat, and Etchvery. Um, outs just hovering outside. We've got Bran and Nagashima and Al Naldi and Tabilo. So that gives you an idea of where the men's game currently sits. Um, let's take a look at the tournaments as we move towards the hardcourt swing. Uh, let's take a little look at what we have coming up for July. Yes. So, of course, we have Bastard, which is the Nordia Open from today. Uh, is it 250 till the 19th? We have Gastard from today till the 19th. Um, UMag from today until the 18th, Austria 250 from the 20th to the 25th, um, Portugal 250 from 20 to 26th, DC from the 27th of July to the 2nd of August, Cabo from the 27th of July to the 1st of August, and then of course we have the ATP Masters 1000 this year in Montreal, um, and the women play elsewhere, so the 2nd to the 13th of August, and then after that, we have Cincinnati the 13th to the 23rd, the Winston-Salem Open the 23rd to the 29th, which is a 250, and then we have the US Open from the 30th of August to the 13th of September, then Davis Cup, Labor Cup, and a few others before the Shanghai Masters. So great schedule on the men's side, equally as good on the women's side. We're gonna check that out in just a second. But tournaments this week to watch, Sweden, Gestard, Umag, Austria, Portugal, um, in the next week to week and a half, and then of course DC when that gets started as well. Um, amazing! So let's go take a look at the women's side, and we're gonna take a little look at the rankings before we give you guys a little look at the schedule. Okay, so we've got Savalenka, Robokana, Pagula, Goff has moved into fourth place, Pagula has moved up to third, Mira Andreva has stayed at fifth, Caroline Mochova has gone up to number six in the world, Linda Noskova has gone to seven, Igor Swantek has gone down to number eight, Amanda Anasomova has gone down to number nine, and Elena Svitalina rounds out your top ten. Mara Kostiak up two spots at 11. Then we've got Victoria Maboko, Naomi Yasaka, Belinda Bensik, Jasmine Paulini, Eva Jovic, Sristiya, Schneider, Alexandrova, Kellen Skya is your top 20 from 20 to 30. We have Kellen Skaya, Buskova, Schwolinska down one spot, Madison Keyes 23, Elise Meerton's 24, Leila Fernandez 25, Emma Navarro 26, Potopova 27, Alexey Ella 28, up four spots from her amazing run and taking out Igos Roundtek, Ostapenko at 29 and Towson at 30. We've got a really good flow there, and not honestly, not many points between first and second. So we might see some shuffles around as we move closer to the US Open. Let's take a look at what we can expect. Um, we have a 250 in Ayasu right now. Uh we have a 250 in Athens in progress. Um from the 2nd to the 13th. From the 2nd to the 13th of August, we have the Rogers Cup in Toronto. And then from the 27th to the 2nd, 27th of July to the 2nd. We have the DC Open. Let's have a look here. Athens, Prague, Hamburg. So from the 20th to the 26th of July, we have a 250 in Hamburg. From the 27th to the 2nd, we have a 500 in Washington, D.C. The Memphis Classic from the 27th of July to the 2nd of August, that's a 250. And then the 2nd to the 13th of August, we have the Rogers Cup, followed by Cincinnati, which is a WTA 1000, from the 13th to the 23rd. Then we have Monterey, 23rd to the 29th, and then the US Open starts on the 30th. So a lot happening on the women's side as well. Um, I think we have a lot of tennis to look forward to as we move into this next phase. Um, but that does wrap up our obviously Wimbledon coverage for 2026. Thank you so much for joining me throughout the incredible fortnight. That was the recaps of SW19.
