Dollywood Adventures
Speaker 1we did ? I'll touch on this real quick we did go to Dollywood .
Speaker 2Oh yeah , how was your trip ?
Speaker 1It was good we did one day at the park , the amusement park .
Speaker 2With the rides .
Speaker 1Most people were amused . Braxton rode almost every ride , carter rode everything twice . Wow , he'll ride anything , uh , and we did the water park how was that ? Day two water park was pretty good . I wasn't too excited about it , I was like ants . Yeah , you know . You know how I feel about water parks . Yeah , you .
Speaker 2You got to get in . Yeah , is it a bandaid ?
Speaker 1It's just a group mold check , so you're just standing in line being like , yeah , but anyway , yeah , it was good .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1And then it was pretty crowded , which here's a little tip If you're going to Dollywood and you're going to hit up , Splash Country . Is that what it's called ? I don't know . I was trying to think . I think that's right .

Speaker 1Yeah , I will say , take you some towels .
Speaker 2Yes , we thought it was like .
Speaker 1I want to say every other water park in the world that has like , I feel like everybody has towels .
Speaker 2Yeah Right , kind of like the Y or whatever . Yeah , you grab a towel , so we walk in .
Speaker 1I'm oblivious and we're just walking to get some seats .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1I don't know why we got seats next to the wave pool . I guess there was some shade there . I don't do wave pools .
Speaker 2Okay .
Speaker 1But I like watching other people act like they've never seen a wave . Maybe they haven't , but it's kind of funny . But Robin looks at me and she said we didn't bring towels , did we ? And then we both started looking around all panicked .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1They got towels and then we were like nobody's towels match .
Speaker 2This is just hodgepodge we're gonna have to drip out of here yeah no , we go .
Speaker 1Robin went and bought . Dollywood towels the cheapest two she could get .
Speaker 2I think one had a butterfly spoiler alert one had some rhinestones , one had a black bear or whatever , oh yeah so she's like I just got two .
Speaker 1I was like , yeah , I will air dry yeah um , but it was fun nice so I think we had . They had a pack where you get like three days for the price of two .
Speaker 2It was day three and we're about to hit the road so we asked the boys hey , we go y'all want to do the water park again , we'll do the amusement park again .
Speaker 1I'd already voted in my head and heart that I wanted to go home and thankfully they were like I'm good . Really they didn't want to go back . They were worn out . Okay , because it was two full days .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah man . Did you see any bears in East Tennessee ?
Speaker 1No , if I'd have seen a bear on a slide , I would have lost it . No , we didn't see bears this time .
Speaker 2I felt like I just saw on the news there was one in Huntsville . Maybe that's old news .
Speaker 1I think . So I don't know , but it was fun .

Speaker 1I'll just keep updating . We got home and Braxton started driving school .
Driving School and Fender Bender
Speaker 2Oh , I remember that . How did that go ?
Speaker 1It went good Four and a half days . Yeah , we didn't know he was going to have to drive the first day , but he drove two hours the first day .
Speaker 2Whoa .
Speaker 1One hour of that was like in a monsoon .
Speaker 2This past Monday . I remember that . Yeah , it was pouring down . You couldn't even see .
Speaker 1They basically just take the instructors on their errands , which makes sense .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah , he took the guy to his house Guy had to grab his lunch . Yeah , and then they run to Target . Go through the drive cleaner and drive through right here . Take a left .
Speaker 1Yeah , let's get the oil changed yeah .
Speaker 2Oh my gosh , that's funny .
Speaker 1But what's not funny is I drop him off Monday , his first day of driving school , and then I go pick up her dogs , mo and Ron Just kidding , kylo and Ray are sweet . And so we're driving home and I'm through and there's , we have roundabouts in tennessee so we're coming up to . I'm coming up to a roundabout and I see a car and it says franklin driving school . But I just saw driving school . I didn't see the franklin part at first yeah so I was like there's a driving school car yeah they were on the outside lane and the roundabout we're both going straight .
Speaker 1So I thought so we're both going straight , right , allegedly , so I'm on the inside lane yeah they were going super slow yeah I was like this person's going to take forever .
Speaker 2Oh . So I just go you know , I just pick up my speed a little bit yeah .
Speaker 1Last second . The girl was like you know what ? I'm going to go left .
Speaker 2Uh-uh .
Speaker 1And right into the right side of my car .
Speaker 2No .
Speaker 1But I didn't see who was driving and I didn't see Franklin . I just know it's a driving school car and Braxton just started . So I get hit and I'm like , if that's my kid , I'm going to lose it . Yeah , but it wasn't , it was a little 15-year-old girl had a wreck yeah .
Speaker 2In the driving school car . How would you like to be that instructor going back to the driving center or the office after that go round ? Oh , I talked to them . So I didn to them .
Speaker 1I didn't know this until later . I thought they had a break over there on their side . Yeah , they got a steering wheel .
Speaker 2Yeah , they can take over . Oh , it's her fault .
Speaker 1But I didn't know that . So I said can I go talk to the driver ? Because we were taking pictures and exchanging information yeah . Because I thought she'd be bawling .
Speaker 2Yeah right , you know I was driving to school , You're 15 .
Speaker 1I was like hey , don't worry about it . I was like roundabouts are kind of weird you know it's not your fault , or it was our fault . But I was like it's totally your fault I didn't for life from roundabouts , but I guess she wasn't upset , because I guess the instructor was like that's my bad , oh my goodness .
Speaker 2So anyway , yeah , so sorry Did you have . Like , can you still drive it ?
Speaker 1Yeah , still drivable , both doors open . Oh , no but the guy at the driving school that owns the driving school . Yep , super nice .
Speaker 2Free driving school for your second kid .
Speaker 1I told him we got another kid on the way . He's like it's going to be a discount , maybe free .

Speaker 1Yeah , so I guess that goes into . This morning I had to call the insurance company which , if you ever don't feel stupid , call an insurance company Because they made me feel so dumb . I talked to them . I talked to one lady twice , and then I talked to another lady , and then today I talked to a guy named Paul . I'm not going to say the insurance company , yeah , but it rhymes with Nate Charm and it was painful .
Speaker 1Even if they were polite , it was crazy painful . Even if they were polite , it was crazy painful . If you've had a wreck , they say so . I called them ,
Insurance Claim Nightmare
Speaker 1I said all right , and here's I don't like getting quotes , I'm not going to go all over town to get the cheapest price . Number one , it's not my fault .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1So I went to one place . It was recommended .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1Super polite Guy was a Bama fan . I was like boom .
Speaker 2This is in the stars . This is where I'm supposed to get fixed .
Speaker 1So I'm like I'll just take it there . So I call State Farm , oops . And then the person goes , oh well , you can take it wherever you want to get it fixed .
Speaker 2And they said but if they're not in our network and they try to charge more ?
Speaker 1then we may not cover that More . What which , the way you say that means I can't take it wherever I want to go .
Speaker 2Yeah , right , if I want to use the insurance that I'm paying for , which is why we're on the phone .
Speaker 1Right , so I'm like , but I've already taken it there and I'm waiting on a quote .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1And he was like well , they may be more expensive than some places , and I was like I understand . And then I said well , how do we do this ? I was like do you need to come look at the car .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1And give me a price . And then when I get the quote , I go whoa , those don't match up . Yeah , she said no , when you drop it off to get it fixed , we'll send a rep out to take a look . And I said but if I drop it off at a place that's going to be really expensive and your rep comes and says this is too expensive , do I have to go back and get my car ?
Speaker 2And then do all this again and go somewhere cheaper . Yeah .
Speaker 1And she was like well , we don't know how much it'll cost until we go look at it . I was like , well , can you look at it ?
Speaker 2In my driveway .
Speaker 1Before I take it .
Speaker 2Your car insurance .
Speaker 1So I talked to the dude again today and I am scheduled to take it June 24th 2 o'clock . I'm supposed to take my car .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1And he said and they're going to send somebody out to look at it when I drop it off for repairs .
Speaker 2The efficiency is just overwhelming , isn't it ?
Speaker 1yeah , and I was like , so will y'all let me know if it's too right .
Speaker 2What's the ?
Speaker 1limit . I said well , and he was like well , sometimes they won't send somebody out , it'll be like a virtual thing . I said well , they've already taken pictures and they already have a quote . Because , like can you just get the quote now and see what the price is before I drop it off . He's like . He's like no , just drop it off , we'll send somebody out , and as long as it all works out , then you get it fixed there and I'm like what does work out mean ?
Speaker 2what is the ceiling on what you will cover ?
Speaker 1and they don't know till they look at it .
Speaker 2This is like dog chasing its tail . It seems so backwards it is . That's horrible . I would not want to have to say that to people calling in with an accident claim every day .
Speaker 1But the kicker is , I drop it off at two .
Speaker 2Yeah , you're out of the car .
Speaker 1On June 24th and Enterprise is supposed to have me a car there , right , so I have a car to drive home . But he said wait until everything checks out , you know , before you call Enterprise . I'm like , well , how do I know ?
Speaker 2Yeah , when can I hit the first domino and which stack am I using ? Do you know what I'm saying ? Like this hinges on this , but they won't know this , and this is what's wrong with the world but this is yeah , and the kicker is I don't know .
Speaker 1I didn't ask the place like how long .
Speaker 2There's no point asking how long it's gonna take oh no , to get it fixed it might be two weeks , because is the part on back order ? Do they have supply chain issues ? But then I'm supposed to go .
Speaker 1We're supposed to drive , drive on our trip . So then we got a rental car , and then I got to drop my dogs , so can I throw my dogs ?
Speaker 2in the rental car . It's going to have dog hair in it . Yeah , anyway , I'm sorry .
Speaker 1It's been so long since I've had like a fender bender .
Speaker 2Yeah , it takes so long to get that , all that stuff closure on it like literal , literal closure , like livy had somebody hit her car two years ago we had to rent a car and we let her use our car because it was on our insurance policy , wasn't her fault .
Speaker 2Somebody messed up the whole right side of her car , so same kind of thing . We had to get it . We took it one place where they weren't going to cover it , so we had to go somewhere else . Yada yada , it was just a location difference or something Same company , made no sense . Then we got the rental car from Enterprise . Check out your rental car and take pictures .
Speaker 1Oh , before .
Speaker 2Because they just . We were in a hurry , we needed a car . We didn't care , they were supposed to just have it . We just went and picked it up . I didn't notice , but at the top above , where the door shuts , it looked like the frame had been bent , like somebody trying to get in it , or rig it or break in it and there was rust on that and I was like that's weird .
Speaker 2and the person who checked us out was like you're good , you know , you know all this . Like it's no , pretend like it's 1992 and you're renting a car at the birmingham airport and you walk around it with a clipboard and or your phone since it's 2025 and take pictures of every mark because we had to go through months of like this wasn't our fault .
Speaker 1Yeah .
Speaker 2They were going to like . You damaged this and I was like dude A , it's already rusted . How would I have damaged it and had time for it to rust ?
Speaker 1Right , it was weird what I'm going to do , because we're going to have to take a trip , so I guess I'll just tell Enterprise , like look , I need a bigger car .
Speaker 2Yeah , and if there's a difference in size , you might have to pay it . Well , the other people have to .
Speaker 1They're supposed to give you something equivalent to what you got .
Speaker 2Yeah , you have a big car , so if you got , an SUV . You're like that's kind of what I need yeah .
Speaker 1But I've only done it a couple of times . But if we're taking a trip I'll pay that out of pocket and just do the like . Do you want to do our supplemental ? Because they have an extra insurance thing . And if I'm driving all the way to the beach and back and I got two dogs in it and all that .
Speaker 2I'm like I'll pay it , cover it . Because when you get it back , I don't yeah , cover it if a small asteroid hits it . I want every possible coverage .
Speaker 1If I roll in here and it's like planes , trains and automobiles or Tommy Boy car , I'm dropping the keys off .

Speaker 1The gas tank's in the back seat ? Yeah , I don't even mess with it .

Speaker 1I know , but it's fine when was this . Monday Not this Monday , but last Monday . Oh , when was this Monday ? Not this Monday , but last Monday , oh no man . So but yeah , it's fine Shoot , which I wish . I wish I had like an Ace Ventura or like a beater car .

Speaker 1Yeah , because then if it happened , I'd be like tell you what ? Just give both my boys free driving school . Give me a thousand bucks , call it even .

Speaker 1We're done with this we'll be done with this yeah . I have money in my pocket . Both my doors still work yeah , right so sorry but no , I kind of which , when you get the quote you're like get ready .
Speaker 2What strap in ? Yeah . Or they'll say you know , we had something happen with a car , we thought it was going to be fixable . And they're like , yeah , the frame has been , it's totaled out oh yeah , I've had that I was like I'm sorry , say what .
Speaker 2You know what I mean , which in some ways is like well , you got to find something else , and sometimes it's easier than trying to get it fixed , but still that's a is like well , you got to find something else , and sometimes it's easier than trying to get it fixed , but still that's a gut punch too .
Speaker 1Yeah , when you got to get a whole new car , you're like what , yeah , what , don't call people I did .

Speaker 2Yeah , I still don't know what's going on . Well , their policy is not specific . You know they're saying , well , if it's too much , but they're not giving you any . They're not . They're not saying you know , if it's body work above eight thousand dollars , we'll cover up to whatever but it's hilarious .
Speaker 1You said eight thousand dollars , because that's it's probably what it's gonna be . Yeah , that's what it was .

Speaker 1Yeah , that's crazy , but the one thing I asked one lady I said I have a question . If I took it to seven different places to get quotes , which one would I take it to for you to come inspect it at ?
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1Just the one I choose , or the cheapest , or Right what ?
Speaker 2I get all these quotes . Where are you ? Yeah , come to my house , yeah you're an engine .
Speaker 1Why do you have to talk to the body shop guy to be like to figure it out ? I don't think you're needed .
Speaker 2I'm sorry yeah , it's a little wonky , it's not an exact metaphor , but it feels like when your parent takes you to I don't know , let's say the mall or Walmart , and this is not my personal , but like okay , you can get a bathing suit or you can get a new pair of jeans , or you can get a new pair of tennis shoes , right , and they're like okay , but how much ?
Speaker 2Well , we'll just have to tell us what store you're at and we'll have to come . We'll just have to see how expensive it is , I know . But what if eight stores have those shoes ? You're still not telling me a price . I know , but just see what you like , try on some even .
Speaker 1Yeah , and when you drop ?
Speaker 2But can I have $100 ? Can I have $50 ? Can I have $100 ? Can I have $50 ? Can I have $20 ? Will you cover the $150 hokas ? What are we talking about ? Well , we'll just have to send mom down there . You just let us . You know what I mean . Give me something I can print . You know what I mean .
Speaker 1And it also sounds like if they gave you a certain amount for jeans , they also wouldn't say well , we'll see what we can afford .
Rental Car Complications
Speaker 2So just when you drop them off , to get them altered . We'll figure it out . Yeah , but what ? If I don't want these , then I've already bought them and we still don't know what the price is for said bought jeans like this is crazy yeah now I ain't got no pants on and I got a rental car .
Speaker 1Because they're gonna reschedule all this , I'm going to candy craze or whatever I'm so sorry .
Speaker 2Yeah , I don't yeah , because we just wrapped stuff up and then , god forbid , somebody has an injury at least , at least nobody's necks hurting you know , that's a that's a whole another thing .
Speaker 2Well , we still haven't gotten a bill from your provider , so we don't know if we can cover that . They're still asking us about something because one kid got in a fender bender and their neck hurt for a bit and it was fine . But like we went to one doctor's visit and like I think we even paid for it because whatever we paid the deductible and it was just like yep , he's good , so I wasn't going to fool with it because it wasn't going to be like an ongoing treatment and they're still sending letters that say we still don't have your and I've called .
Speaker 2They're like it's closed . I'm like well , can you turn the letter maker off , because I get one of these every six weeks . It makes me nervous and quit wasting toner and postage anyway .
Speaker 1Oh my gosh it's a whole thing . We . Sorry , this is ranty , but I will say the one lady I talked to , wow , I was walking dogs when she called me , so I was like can I ? Call you back at this number . She was like yeah , no , I can't . Because I called it and I was like this is Verizon , this number is so . Then I had to call do all this back work ? Nobody knew . I said I'm trying to reach , so I go back .
Speaker 2I look at the card , yeah .
Speaker 1So I call the number and Judy answered the phone . I was like , hey , Judy , I'm trying to get in touch with this lady .
Speaker 2I didn't know if it was her first name or first and last . She said it real fast . Yeah .
Speaker 1I'm trying to get in touch with last . Okay , she said it real fast .
Speaker 2Yeah , I was like I'm trying to get in touch with , so I said it kind of medium , yeah , kind of right , slow , fast .
Speaker 1I was like yeah , I'm trying to get in touch with fran shell I don't know if her name is fran shell or fran shell or fran shell and she just didn't tell you the last name doesn't matter , because judy didn't know who that was , and then she transferred me to addison , and addison didn't know who fran shell was either because addison just graduated from high school such a young name .
Speaker 1Yeah , uh , talked to her for a minute , but yeah , and it was just but the friend . When I did finally get in touch with fran shell , I talked to her for 47 minutes .
Speaker 2Oh .
Speaker 1At one point she said I think you're confusing yourself , which I was , and I almost said , well ditto , because she was the one that was . Like she kept trying to get me off the phone . She's like okay , if there's any other questions . Oh , I have questions . What are you talking about ? Like she ? Would do this long thing and I'm like , so am I dropping it off ?
Speaker 2Right .
Speaker 1And she's like well , we won't know until we get there . I was like , Well , we don't know .
Speaker 2now , and I'm not going to know what if I'm not there .
Speaker 1Yeah , I'm going to know I don't have a car when I get there and then you're going to , yeah . There's a part of me is like I guess I just go with their person . That's why people go with their person , I guess .
Speaker 2Because they don't want to fool and they've got to hear that they got some handshake deal with .
Speaker 1Well that's why they want to do it .
Speaker 2I know Because you're like is the paint going to look different ? It's going to look different isn't it , bobby ?

Speaker 1It's a paint job for like $99 . They used to advertise .

Speaker 2Maybe stand your ground and see , and it's all . That's why I'm taking it , I'm just walking home and walking to the beach , I'm so sorry , good gracious but anyway that's fun time if you gotta call Fran Shell , don't At State Farm .

Speaker 2Okay , yeah , so yeah , Poor girl though . Still , maybe she wasn't upset , but maybe she was , maybe she's just oh , I'm sure she got home , told her parents , oh , and just cried oh yeah , that's hard but the lady was like he's being so nice and all this and like the owner was super .
Speaker 1But I was like there's no point in .
Speaker 2I mean you already hit my car like I could get out and start yelling , but I ain't gonna do nothing oh good , no , yeah , yeah , there's too much anger in the world already anyway , like you know , if somebody was yelling at you that'd be different .
Speaker 1But 15 year old teenage girl yeah , and your kid's doing the same thing right now , so , yeah , that like splits ?
Speaker 2yeah , you're thinking about braxton . What if it happened to him ?
Speaker 1yeah , I'm like , oh my gosh , like he's not hitting anybody right now so when I picked him up , I got to pick him up first day of driving school .
Southern Patience Running Thin
Speaker 2Your car is all janked up .
Speaker 1Yeah , my two doors on the right side are all crunched , so he walks out and he's like what ?
Speaker 2He gives me this look like you had a wreck when you dropped me off at driving school . For driving school , Do we need to swap ?
Speaker 1But then all the kids like coming out of driving school looking at my car ? Yeah , and I know they're like oh , that kid wrecked his dad's car . That's why he got signed up for driving school .
Speaker 1Oh yeah , yeah , that's crazy so then I had to go in and talk to the . He was like , because I talked to him on the phone , he's like , well , I'm at the location . I was like , well , I'll be there to pick my son up in about a few hours . And he's like , okay , well , I'm at the location . I was like , well , I'll be there to pick my son up in a few hours .
Speaker 2And he's like OK , just come on in . Yeah , oh my goodness .
Speaker 1Anyway .
Speaker 2Yeah , I don't . Would you like to make a claim ? Press one . That's a bad day right there . Yeah , I mean you know ? I mean there's way worse things that can happen . Everybody's okay and that's the main thing . But it's just a logistical you know , phone call management nightmare for a few months .
Speaker 1Which we're still old school . So like I want to talk to somebody , Me too , and I want to write down the confirmation number in my little notebook .

Speaker 1But anyway , back to not to harp on Fran , but she said , well , she sent me all these . You get text messages while you're on the phone with them . It drives me crazy , she's like do you have the State Farm app ? And I'm like well , I'm a State Farm customer , so I'm going to lean toward no . So this morning . I download the app .
Speaker 2Wait a minute . I thought you said your insurance is with them .
Speaker 1No , no , it's their insurance . I'm going directly through theirs .
Speaker 2I got you , I got you . I got you Because I didn't know this .
Speaker 1I called my insurance company and before they did something they were like well , it's still going to show up , even though it's not your fault , it's going to show up that there was some activity .
Speaker 2Yeah , right , so you don't want to do that if you don't have to . So I'm going through them . Oh , okay , I thought they were for you .
Speaker 1But she was telling me , so I get on the app .
