In this episode I’m back after a few busy weeks and wanted to share what’s been on my mind. We start by celebrating my dad, Pastor Roger Loomis, turning 70 today. Still traveling, still serving, still going strong. It got me thinking about purpose and why none of us were created to just sit around and coast through life.

I talk about what it means to actually discover your purpose, why staying positive matters more than people realize, and how asking God for wisdom can change everything. I also share a recent personal story where I had a financial need, prayed about it, and within a few hours watched the doors open in ways I didn’t expect.

I also talk about a powerful night in Cleveland with Brandon Lake and Franni Cash and seeing thousands of people hungry for something good and hopeful.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, discouraged, or unsure about what you’re supposed to be doing with your life, this episode is for you.

Welcome everybody. Mondays with an recorded on Monday, which is file. But you know what? When you're smiling, when you're smiling. When you're laughing. When you're laughing. When you're coming up. Yeah. Welcome, welcome, welcome. Uh, it's been three weeks since I recorded last. I do apologize, but uh, you've always been busy. We've been out here doing our thing in the streets of Ohio, rocking and rolling, moving and shaking, kicking and grooving, as the young kids of our generation say. I don't know why you're laughing at that time. Anyways, I've been a busy couple of few weeks. A couple of few weeks. There you go. What do you think about that, huh? Um, lots of stuff going on. Let me try to think about what we should talk about first. Oh, before we get into this, let's give a round of applause to my father, Roger Loomis. It is his 70th birthday today. Let me hear you make some noise. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, Pastor Reverend Roger Loomis. Happy birthday to you. Uh, the big 7-0 today, and that's exciting for him. Doing great, staying busy, staying active. They just got back from Africa, they're getting ready to go to Africa again. You know, a lot of times when people get to that age demographic, they shut down, they can't wait to sit on the couch, and we call it retiring. You were tired, now you are retired. And I you hear people all the time talk about retirement. I can't wait till I retire. I can't wait till I just have to sit around and do nothing. You know, that's not all it's cracked up to be. Because I believe I was talking to my dad actually about this earlier today. Everybody on planet Earth was created for a purpose. You were here for a reason to accomplish your purpose. And if you can say, well, I don't know what my purpose is. Well, your number one purpose now is to figure out what your purpose is. Can I get an amen to that? No, that is not an amen. Jesus dude. You're gonna have to fire the uh the guy in the back. Anyways, yeah, your purpose is why you're here. And when people don't have anything to do, that's when it causes trouble. You see people making really, really bad choices when they're aimless, when they have nothing to aim at. And if you don't know why you're here, it's time to dig deep and figure out what that reason is. I mean, our number one purpose in life is to have a relationship with God. God sent his son, they called in Jesus. He came to love, heal, and forgive. And so when we receive that forgiveness, that connects us to God. Our number one purpose is to get born again. And then once you're born again, you're in a whole new world. You're in the kingdom of God. And within that kingdom, you've got a job to do. And it's going to affect every area of life, every area of your life. That's it. And so that's our number one purpose. And then it's like, God, why do you what do you want me to do while I'm here on the earth? It's appointed and under man to be born and then to die. But in the middle of that, what am I supposed to do with my time? What is my focus? Is it just to go to work and just exist and work in for the weekend? Or is it to actually do something that's going to leave a lasting legacy and affect the lives of those around me in a positive and transformative way? That's my purpose. And I believe that all of us have unique giftings and a unique calling. There's not two people on planet Earth that are just alike. We got some people out here floating around that look a lot alike, but everybody has a unique, excuse my frog in the throat. They have a unique DNA. They have a unique fingerprint. I'm no scientist, but I know this to be true. So none of us are the same. That means if none of us are the same, that we don't share the same purpose other than serving God. But outside of that, each one of us have something specific that God has called us to do. And I encourage you that if you feel like you're living underneath your purpose, or you feel like you're just not walking in the place that you need to be, or you're not happy with where you're at, or feel unfulfilled, you're sad, you're upset, you're not smiling, you're not smiling, then you need to just spend some time getting quiet and figure out what it is you're supposed to do. The Bible says, if anybody lacks wisdom, so you could say it like this, if you don't know what to do in a particular situation, or if you don't know what to do with your life, like what what do I do now? Then the book of James says, Let him ask of God. Because God gives wisdom liberally. And there's no favoritism, there you don't have to be in a different position, doesn't matter how you feel about yourself, God loves you just the way you are. But he loves you more than that because he wants to love you to the place that he's called you to be. What did somebody say God loves you just as you are, but he loves you so much he doesn't want to leave you just as you are? Because he wants to get you into the place of fulfillment. We should be we should be excited to wake up. We should be excited about tomorrow. We should be excited about the things that we're involved in. They should bring us joy and encouragement. If you're looking at your life and it's just not good, like you don't get excited, you're sad too much, it's hard for you to get out of bed, it's hard for you to sleep, like all the things are working against you, you're not you're not happy in relationships like this, you're not happy in your job. There's all this stuff floating around. Then it's time, to get alone and figure out what is it that I'm supposed to do. And I believe as you focus on that, God will show you. He's gonna answer you. He's gonna answer you. We have not, because we ask not. And in the in the book of Jeremiah, they used to call it when I was growing up, as I heard some preacher say, it's God's telephone number. In the book of Jeremiah, chapter number 33, verse 3, the Bible says, Call to me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you do not know. That's pretty cool. And that's a promise that all of us can apply to our lives. So, all that being said, get alone with God. Ask him what it is you'd have me do. And just lay aside everything that would push you away and hinder you from stepping into that and report for duty. Just like Isaiah did in chapter 6. The Bible said, In the year King Uzziah died, Isaiah said, I saw the Lord seated high on the throne, his train of his robe filled the temple. One of my favorite chapters in all of the Bible. And then he heard the Lord cry out, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And Isaiah looked around, feeling feeling not worthy, feeling like he was not qualified, but he knew that if he did answer that call, who would? And Isaiah looked up and said, Here I am, Lord. You can send me. I know I may not be the best in my own mind. I don't feel qualified. I don't feel prepared. But here I am. Use me. And it kind of related to that one story in the Gospels. I'm not exactly sure where it's at, but you remember it, the feeding of the five thousand. There's a couple stories in the in the gospels, different accounts of this event. But my favorite is when the disciples came to Jesus and there was a multitude there listening to Jesus teach. And the disciples they'd been there for a long time, and the disciples came to Jesus and said, Lord, we need to send the people away because they're hungry. And Jesus said, Why don't you give them something to eat? And the disciples looked around at each other, confused and confounded, which are very closely related. And they didn't have enough food amongst them to even feed themselves. I bet they were really saying, Lord, we're hungry. Can we go eat? They just used the people as an excuse that sometimes people do, you know. But all they found was a little boy who had a few loaves of bread and a few pieces of fish. And they gave it to Jesus. Now that's not enough food for multitudes of people. That's barely enough food for the boy. What in the world is the Lord gonna do with that? So I look at our lives like that, loaves of bread and fish sometimes, we may not feel like it's enough. We may feel like our skill set's not developed enough, like we don't know what to do, we're intimidated, we're insecure, we're shy, we're not we're overweight, we're underweight, we're we we can come up with a million reasons why we can't. But that little boy did not do that. They gave the lunch to Jesus. And the Bible says that he took it and he blessed it, and then handed it to his disciples for them to give to the people. And you know what happened? The more they gave, the more food appeared. And as they gave, it continued to continue to continue to continue to feed the people that were there. So much so they had leftovers. And Jesus said, make sure you pick up all the leftovers. Because everything matters. Everything matters. And so I want to encourage you today that you matter, that God has a plan for your life, and he wants to use you, and he wants you to wake up excited about what's going on, not in fear, not in worry, none of those things. We may have moments of those feelings, but they should not be consistently evident in our life. Our focus should always be the joy of the Lord is my strength. If I'm sad, I'm gonna seek his face, because in his presence is fullness of joy, and at his right hand are pleasures forevermore. God has called us to fullness of joy, not to be sad, not to be upset and mad. You may feel it, but it's not the way it's supposed to be all the time. So I just want to encourage you with that, and uh I think that hopefully that was a blessing to you. Let's talk about something else. Um, even that's good stuff. I could I could stay there for a long time. But uh cool experience over the weekend. We'll talk about this. Um went to Cleveland, Ohio, to the Woolesteen sometime, to hang out with uh my sister, who is the manager of Franny Cash, formerly of We the Kingdom. She's launched out on her solo career, and she was opening up for a very wonderful artist who's gaining a lot of uh popularity, I guess is a good way of saying it, but he's get gaining a lot of influence in a lot of different circles, and it's really cool to see how God's using him. Um, Brandon Lake. And you may know some of his songs, uh, Gratitudes. Though I throw up my hands and I praise you again and again. Because all that I have is a hallelujah. Hallelujah. That's a pretty great song. A lot of other good stuff. Uh it's got a song out with Jelly Roll, and I just saw he's releasing a song with Bailey Zimmerman, who's a country artist. So the Lord's using him in very unique ways in a lot of different rooms. And some Christians will get mad about that. Well, why is he singing with them secular folks? Well, why aren't you? Why don't you just shut your mouth and be happy and pray for those around you? And then ask God what he wants you to do. Amen. But it was cool to spend time with them, and then uh cool moment, we were standing in the green room with Franny, and uh I may or may not have said something about my dad, and he was there with us, and my kids were there and my two boys, and um he uh we may have mentioned that it was his birthday this weekend, so we all sat around and sang happy birthday to him. So that was fun. But just a cool experience to see 13,000 people just so energized and just so hungry for the presence of the Lord and just to be around positive things. You know, if you turn on the news, if you if you doom scroll on social, it just it's sad out there, you know, it can get you down. But there's a lot of great stuff happening, there's a lot of positive things happening. And if you're around me for 10 seconds, you know that I try to stay as positive as possible. I'm not always positive, I struggle just like everybody else. But my default since I was a child was to be positive. Because I learned that, you know, early on, that as a man thinketh, and Jesus talked about this in the King James Version, because that's how I learned this verse, but it as a man thinketh, or as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. So how you think about yourself is how you are. And then how you treat other people is a representation of how you think about you. It's amazing how it works. So I've always tried to stay positive. That's one of my life goals. And then when things when you know run up against a challenge, I've had a few of those lately. Difficulties, struggles, whatever the case may be. Your attitude, as Zig Ziggler said, determines your altitude. And if you have a bad attitude, guess what? You fly in low. How low can you go? Pretty low, I would imagine. Can you go down low? We're not gonna do it. All the way to the flow. You can go low. You can get low, as little John says. Or you can lift up your eyes. The Bible says, I lift up my eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help. My help comes to the Lord, from the Lord. And so I I recently I'll give a little testimony. I'm not gonna get into the details of it, but I had a financial need. And uh, you know, it's interesting. You run up and you go, like, I need to make X amount of dollars and X amount of days. And so I uh, this was uh last week, actually, and just talk about the faithfulness of God and if you're doing what you're supposed to be doing, that good things happen. And just came up to it where I needed to make some extra cash and uh talk to my mom and dad about it, because I talk to them often. So we had a moment of prayer and we just gave it to the Lord. And so I began to do what I know to do. Every day I wake up with a list. Not a lisp, that's a whole different thing. A list. So I decided to not get upset, not freak out, because when you freak out, you let your faith out. And I just started working down my list. And you know what? About an hour later, I get a phone call from a guy who had seen some work that I'd done and wanted me to do the work for him. There's part of the miracle. And then in a few hours later, get another phone call from gentlemen from a gentleman I met who knew about my work and wanted me to help him do some things as well. So within a span of about four hours from the moment that we prayed, every detail and every need was met. Isn't that good? Because when you give it to the Lord, he knows more than we do about our situation. When you're doing what you're supposed to be doing, the right doors will open for you. And let's give a round of applause for that. Thank you very much. Yeah. So just be encouraged today. No matter what you're dealing with, no matter what's going on in your life, just keep on smiling. Because when you're smiling, the whole world smiles with you. Don't be sad. And if you find yourself in a moment of sadness, it's alright for a second. But just get out as fast as you can. Because again, I mentioned this a second ago, and I'll say it again. The joy of the Lord is your strength. If you have no strength, get joy. And in his presence is fullness of joy. So where do I go find joy if I don't got none? Get alone with God. And when you do, that's when things begin to change. Somebody say amen. Well, thank you. Thank you. Thank you for listening to this podcast. Um, another thing you'll notice, I have a new website. Got two new websites. Bam! Adamlumis.online. That's for my personal brand, that's where my book is, and all those fun things. This podcast link is speaking engagement links are, booking and all that kind of stuff. If you're interested in having me come speak or whatever, I'm available. You can find it there. So that's kind of where my personal brand's going to be built up. And then we're working on a different website for our company, AdamLoomismarketing.com, where you'll find all the information about all the things that we're doing on the business side of things, which are pretty exciting, got a lot of fun stuff happening. Really excited about this year, kind of completely transitioning to a whole new level. So I'm excited about that. What else? That's it. I think it is March 9th, 2026, year of our Lord. Go out and make this week segregate. The world needs you to be who you are. You're not an accident, you're here on purpose, for a purpose, and I'm here for you. Love ya. Praying for you. And we only sing one time because I was in the mood to talk. And it's a podcast. That's what you do on a podcast. Can you imagine a world where you didn't talk on a podcast?
