Show Notes

I wanted to make $1,000,000 in sales in 1 year by my 30th birthday, but I failed. I was not even close. Bu here’s the thing: having this goal caused me to hit it less than 2 years later. In that time, I learned 10 things that made me $1,000,000 in sales in 12 months.

1. The market doesn’t care how hard you work. Stop focusing on hard work and start focusing on leveraged activities that produce results.

2. The market rewards excellence. In any market, the majority of the rewards go to the person at the very top. When you progress from an F player to an A player, you’ll see disproportionate rewards.

3. Success is exponential. Your life in five years is based on what you are doing today. You have to be patient for the payoff.

4. Focus is the hardest thing. You have to have faith that focusing on one thing will pay off even when you’re not sure if it will or not. It’s still something I struggle with and work on.

5. Play to win instead of playing not to lose. A lot of people aren’t willing to take short-term losses for long-term gain. You have to take chances and invest in yourself.

6. Think like you already have a $1,000,000 business. Think about someone who’s really good at the thing you want to accomplish and then ask yourself, “how would this person think?”

7. Surround yourself with those on the same path as you. If everyone around you is already making $1,000,000 a year, you’re going to be pulled up to that same mindset.

8. Stories sell. We have to package our marketing in stories. That’s how the human brain absorbs information.

9. You need to master Facebook ads. If you can’t make money while you sleep, it’s going to be really hard to get past a certain level. You have to automate lead generation, and one of the best ways to do this is with Facebook ads.

10. Marketing is the most important skill you can have as a business owner, at least for the first $1,000,000. Without marketing and sales, nothing else works.
