Business Is Supposed to Hurt
Show Notes

I got so sick at the gym this morning that I threw up. I was totally incapacitated, my whole body was shaking, and my legs were seizing up. Business is exactly the same way.

There’s no better metaphor for business than fitness. There’s no way to get quick and easy results. You have to be consistent. You have to go through the pain. You have to push yourself. And, if you have long-term commitment, the results are worth it. Anybody that’s gone through the process knows this.

Once you commit to doing something and make a habit of it, it gets easier. It becomes a lifestyle, and the immense pain you had at the beginning is something you enjoy because you know it’s going to pay off.

I get messages from people who are new to business saying that they’re frustrated, and they just want to give up. I tell them that I’m frustrated every day in my business. I hit walls all the time and I expect to. When it happens, I tell myself that this is what I signed up for.

For some reason, people think that making money shouldn’t be painful. If you go to the gym, you know it’s going to hurt, and you know you have to show up anyway. You know that you have to feel the pain and push yourself to your limits every day.

If you can take this same attitude over to your business, you will be successful.
