Show Notes

Building a brand is more than business cards, logos, and websites. That’s the image of your brand, but not the fundamentals. Today I’m going to tell you the three main ways to build the foundation of your brand, cut the chasing, and have sales come to you.

My first tip is to make promises and keep them. It is a slow, continuous process to build a brand. Strong brands have a smaller chance of being a mistake in the eyes of the customer. If you continuously make promises and deliver on them, you are building trust with your audience and they will do the marketing for you by spreading the word.

The next step is to be memorable. This doesn’t mean being off the wall, it means having an easily communicable message. You want a short, succinct way of telling your audience what your core message is. You will need to workshop what works, test the market, and collect responses to find the results. Find something good to say, say it well, and say it often.

The final step is to show results in advance. Customers want brands that can help them. Prove that you are the one to help them with free content, samples, and resources. Make sure they know that you are there to support them throughout their journey. People are loss averse, and taking risks doesn’t come naturally. Position yourself as a safe prospect.

Don’t be afraid of failure. If you fail, learn from it and try again. Why should your customer take risks if you won’t?
