The purpose of being an entrepreneur is to build a system that makes you money, not to simply just make money. A lot of people get those two things confused.
What happens if you build a business and start to find success? You grow as big as you possibly can, given the amount of time and energy that you have to devote. Then you start to hire for customer service, sales, etc., but not for the one thing you’re good at. All of a sudden, you have systems and processes for each part of your business, but you don’t have somebody to replace you. That’s going to become the bottleneck in your business.
There’s a common myth in entrepreneurship that nobody can do what you do. It’s just not true. There’s plenty of people who, when trained properly and given the right systems, can do exactly what you do.
Anything that depends on you is going to become a point of failure. You have to think about what tasks, if done repeatedly at a level of excellence, would grow your business.
