Why Quarterly News Roundups

Tyler

Welcome to the Disneyville Podcast, episode 59.

Jessica

Where we talk about the Disney parks, Disney Cruise, and all the magic in between. We are your hosts. I'm Jessica.

Tyler

I'm Tyler.

Jessica

I felt official today. Well, we have been promising you guys this episode for a while now, talking about just a roundup of the news. There's a lot that comes from. Ooh. We want to do these, you know, somewhat often, not all the time, but at least quarterly. Yeah. Um, when there feels like there's enough to talk about. I know that there's a lot of accounts that do an amazing job. I mean, we literally utilize some of those as sources for us for this episode. Yeah. They're doing an amazing job. They're and they're doing stuff every week. They're coming out with stuff. So when you're watching those, they're enjoyable, but they're we're talking little minutiae as things change slowly in Disney. So we're hopeful that these more quarterly episodes from us are a good roundup of like meaningful changes, yeah. That issues, bigger changes and stuff that are going on. And it's all exciting. So we definitely have a lot to talk about today. Some stuff you may have heard about, some stuff you may not have, and some stuff we personally experienced that were new that we hadn't even heard about that I'm excited to share.

Tyler

And we also asked you on our Instagram, which is welcome to Disneyville, if you had anything that you had questions about, wanted to talk about, like that you were excited about. Yeah. So we'll read those at the end as well.

Jessica

Yeah, and talk about those. So cheers, babe.

Tyler

Let's go.

Jessica

Oh, I wanted a real cheers. Oh. I'm drinking Topo Chico lime.

Tyler

I got a uh little coffee here. This is one of my all-time favorite mugs. I've shown it before, but it just says vision and it shows like the swamp land with like uh an overlay of Walt, like kind of walking through vision. It's kind of fun to do the entire castle, yeah. Walt Disney, even though it was Marty Scolar. It's very cool.

Jessica

That is a very cool mug.

Tyler

It's lies, but it's a good mug.

Jessica

It's a good lion mug.

2027 Packages Plus Dining Deals

Tyler

One of the big news things that's happened since we last talked is that 2027 Walt Disney World vacation packages are now available for booking. So if you were looking, I know the last time we did this news roundup, we were talking about should you do a trip in 2026, should you do one in 2027? Well, if you were deciding that you wanted to wait until 2027, those are now available all the way through October 31st of next year. You can book your trip. So if that's something that you're interested in doing, you can now do that. Um they have three dining plans. They're bringing back the deluxe dining plan next year. So they're doing that again, which is exciting. So if you have any questions, you can ask your travel agent. But also, if you are going this year, Disney also announced some special offers. So I won't go through all of them because there's a whole bunch of minutiae. There's a whole bunch of like, but just very, very quickly, they're doing free dining on select dates from June 28th through December 21st. That's a big chunk of there's of course the big dates with like fall break and stuff, you know, those are the ones that are out.

Jessica

So double check for sure.

Tyler

So double check those dates. There's there's some good dates in there. Uh save up to 30% on rooms from July 30th through October 3rd. There's a Disney Plus offer uh from June 21st through August 15th.

Jessica

So like you save money if you're a Disney Plus subscriber or whatever. Okay.

Tyler

And then they also have there's a bunch more. There's a ticket offer, it's like four-day, four park something. There's a Florida resident offer, Antipass offer. There's all kinds of stuff. So there's a bunch of different offers between now and like early fall, I want to say. And even, I mean, obviously, the free dining there through December. So again, take a look at your travel dates, take a look at your, you know, contact your travel agent and see if they can uh help you save some money there.

Jessica

Yeah, we were trying to think through when we have a trip booked, we may be finagling it a bit. And I'm definitely looking at that free dining thinking, I know. I mean, either way you slice it, I I we'd go for it.

Tyler

But yeah, well, the way we have it currently set up, the dates do not work with the free dining, which is why we're like, well, maybe we switch it.

Jessica

Because free dining, I mean, that's a lot. Think about how much money you spend on food in Disney. Like, that is valuable. So, anyway, all right. Can we dive in? I am so excited about some of this other stuff.

Lakeshore Lodge Details And Lazy River

Jessica

So let's start talking about the thing I think I'm personally the most excited about, and that is a new hotel in Disney. That is Lakeshore Lodge.

Tyler

LSL.

Jessica

LSL, yeah. I didn't know. Lakeshore Lodge. LL, Lakeshore Lodge. Um, here's the thing: you may, if you're a deep Disney nerd like we are, recall when they were talking about a hotel in the spot where River Country was. R.I.P. Yeah, it was called Reflections. It had like a long name, Reflections, a Lakeside Lodge.

Tyler

I feel like there were UVC Lakeshore Lodge.

Jessica

Yeah, like it was too much. It's a whole thing. They had a funeral for a bird. They scrapped it. Then uh, and that that was during, you know, the 2020, right?

Tyler

I feel like that was when it all kind of we actually had some footage of them like doing some, I think the land. Yeah, and we were like, what are they doing here? Then they announced it, and then they were like, never mind. And then they were like just kidding, we're doing it.

Jessica

Snap, snip, snap. That's two the office quotes in one minute. That was pretty good. Impressive. Anyway, um, so they're obviously going forward with this, which a lot of us have known, but they're getting far in the progress.

Tyler

It is, yeah. So on the the Disney Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel, you can even see some of the like interior shots, which I think are really cool to see like the interior hallways as they're doing the construction. So if you want to see more, definitely check that out. It's very, very cool.

Jessica

But go ahead.

Tyler

I say it's opening 2027.

Jessica

Summer. Summer of 2027. So like a little over a year away from when you're watching or listening to this. That's crazy. That's so much sooner. I think because they announced this 10,000 years ago originally. I'm like, you know, though, oh, it'll be 10 years from now, and probably they'll scrap it. But no.

Tyler

You know, though, is it is it impressive?

Jessica

I don't know.

Tyler

Is it impressive? Because you know, we just watched a documentary just last night about the Empire State Building.

Jessica

Yep.

Tyler

And that the Empire State Building was constructed in 13 months.

Jessica

Right after the Great Depression began, too.

Tyler

It wasn't really 1931. And I'm like, you know what? It's if they can do that, it and it's taken Mamma Hotel, you know, it's taken away. It is amazing watching the video footage. There's incredible video footage. I mean, dude, the stuff they got away with. I mean, OSHA obviously did not exist. There was no hard hats. Well, it's the same thing. They were dangling out, oh, you know, a thousand feet over the ground like it was nothing. It was insane. No one's wearing shirts, no one's wearing No one was ever wearing shirts. It's crazy. And I'm like, you know what? But they got it done here.

Jessica

They did.

Tyler

They they did. They literally had 800 degree bolts that they would heat there. Talk about the Empire State Building. Yes, not Disney. And they would throw them like several hundred feet across because they would heat them up, they would throw them across. Somebody would catch them.

Jessica

Catch it in like this cone thing.

Tyler

And then they would like rivet them in place.

Jessica

I'm like, that is up in the air, like bananas.

Tyler

It was wild to watch. Fascinating. Fantastic. You should I'm anyway, not what we're talking about today. Lakeshore Lodge, what are we talking about? What do we think?

Jessica

So, do you want to share what is kind of the theming? I saw you put that in our show notes.

Tyler

Okay, so I'll read this quickly here. So, this is what the what Disney was saying, projected open in 2027. I'm gonna kind of read through a little bit here. Uh, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will celebrate the beauty and magic of nature as seen through the eyes of Disney artists and storytellers, inspired by Walt Disney's lifelong admiration of the great outdoors. The resort's design will pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films, lush forests of Bambi, and the colorful winds of Pocahontas to the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear.

Jessica

I love Pocahontas is one of my top faves. So that is very exciting.

Tyler

That music is some of the most gorgeous that Alan Minkon ever wrote.

Jessica

But I love that they specifically say the colorful winds. I can't wait to see how they incorporate that.

Tyler

But you know why it was so gorgeous?

Jessica

Because who wrote it?

Tyler

Alan Menken. Of course.

Jessica

And Steven Schwartz.

Tyler

Yep. Who wrote Wicked. The two of them co-wrote it, and that's what I'm like, that's why it's so gorgeous. Anyway, um, just the little things like in Just Around the River Bend that uh oh the orchestrations, the oh my god, it's gorgeous. Anyway, if you haven't listened to that in a long time, go go give Just Around the River Bend a little listen and come back to me and tell me that's not just about the most important.

Jessica

Also, Judy Coon singing it 10 out of 10. Come on. Okay.

Tyler

Okay, really quickly, I just wanted to say this, these two things here. So there's 967 uh thoughtfully designed rooms as opposed to unthoughtfully designed. We just slapped them together.

Jessica

So glad they're thoughtfully designed.

Tyler

So uh spectacular floor to ceiling windows, uh showcase the floor, the local flora and fauna. So many of the rooms will offer peaceful views of Bay Lake by day and spectacular views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks by night. Um, and there's also going to be one and two bedroom lake houses along the waterfront. So the way that they're doing that at um what's that one? Wilderness lodge. Um, they're doing a lot of those like ones along the lake. Those are really cool. So they're doing those there as well, which I've I've we've never stayed in.

Jessica

So now they have them at Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge. And then this one. Is that it?

Tyler

I feel like uh I think so.

Jessica

I think that's it.

Tyler

I've always wanted to stay in one of those. We never have, but they look so cool. I know, but they look so cool.

Jessica

They do. One day, one day. I like the idea that they have floor to ceiling windows. I feel like that's cool. And my my hope is that it's for every room, not just like you have to pay to upgrade. Be nice if they had them for all the rooms, which I feel like the way it's worded, yeah, it would be.

Tyler

But um My guess is that it's gonna be basically an amalgamation of Wilderness Lodge, the Grand Californian. Like I think it's just gonna kind of bring that rustic but then have its own kind of spin.

Jessica

I feel like a Lake Shore Lodge does have a different feel than like a Pacific Northwest Lodge.

Tyler

Right.

Jessica

Than Grand Californian again, similar vibe. So I'll be very curious to see how it feels different. That's what I'm curious about.

Tyler

But obviously, it all is gonna work together in that area, being right next to Wilderness Lodge. It's all gonna fit in that corridor between Fort Wilderness.

Jessica

Well, literally between, yeah, it's almost like bridging the gap between what Fort Wilderness is like and Wilderness. So that's cool. I'm also assuming they'll have um like water taxi, you know what I mean, two magic kingdoms. So I'm trying to think through, but it'd probably just be bus in that just the same way as Wilderness Lodge. It would be so amazing, you guys. All they gotta do is do one line, they'll add on three more resorts to the monorail.

Tyler

Just throw it on. How hard could that be?

Jessica

Boom, boom, boom. It has to be worth it for them now.

Tyler

Did you know, did you know they built the Empire State Building in like 13 months? I mean, they could throw a monorail line up there, probably in just about the same amount of time. Probably one piece of concrete going over there. Anyway, that is neither here nor there.

Jessica

Uh oh, but the best part about Lake Shore Lodge, you guys, is it's gonna have a lazy river and it's not just gonna have it, it's already been built. I'll show you, we'll pop up a picture. It's this account called Bio Reconstruct that apparently, I don't know how they're getting all these. I haven't looked into it, but they are getting all kinds of aerial photos of all of this construction. And so if you've seen any aerial photos of construction at Disney, it was probably this account. Anyway, um, so we'll share quite a few. So thank you to whoever is running this account. It's amazing. So, yeah, they've got the cement, it's already done. The the lazy river, they've got the cement poured for the main pool that's like right next to it. So, this I feel like this pool area is gonna rival the Yacht and Beach Club shared pool area that is easily the best one.

Tyler

I love it. So cool. I love a lazy river.

Jessica

Oh, we did get a little just to share it because we have it. You'll have to dig it out. We have some footage um from I think our last trip where we, yeah, it had to have been, where we were on the monorail going, I think just around the main loop, and you could see it from there. So we got some clips of the construction.

Tyler

Two seconds. We'll slow it down to four seconds, but it's two seconds worth of footage because I was like, I was looking.

Jessica

I think I might have gotten some too. I'm trying to think.

Tyler

I think I was looking out the like the left-hand side at Magic Kingdom, and then you were like, Oh my gosh, look. And by the time I got my camera turned, it was I got half a second of it.

Jessica

But so cool.

Grand Floridian Lobby Bar Revival

Tyler

All right, moving on to the Grand Floridian. This is one we actually saw with our own eyes.

Jessica

Yes.

Tyler

Doth My Own Eyes Deceive Me. This place is awesome. So if you recall, a couple years ago, something very strange happened at the Grand Floridian. Strange things are afoot at the Circle K. They pulled up all the carpet, and it was all the plywood down, and we're like, okay, they're gonna do this big renovation here in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. Well, lo and behold, they put the carpet back and nothing had changed. So I don't know what had happened.

Jessica

I still don't know what that was about.

Tyler

Yeah. So fast forward, now it's all new. So we got new furniture and new carpet, and the coolest thing is they took the birdcage area there and they converted it into a bar with like so it's this beautiful, like it's a really beautiful.

Jessica

We will show we got some footage of it.

Tyler

This, like, but it's it's kind of an homage to the birdcage that was there. The drinks aside, it makes the lobby feel so much more alive.

Jessica

It's almost like this is what has been missing all along, but none of us knew. And again, not saying that a bar is needed, it's not, but it there's something about it that makes it feel dynamic.

Tyler

And the piano playing and just people like the glasses tinking and the like it was great. Carpet's beautiful too.

Jessica

I yeah, I really like the new carpet. It's a strong choice, but it works perfectly for this. And I think it it's so much more cohesive than it was before, for sure. The bar itself does kind of look like a birdcage, not exactly like what was there, but it definitely is intentional. And the bar is called, by the way, the perch. How perfect. I know. Also, we are that is a 10 out of 10. Yes, yeah, great change.

Tyler

It was also, it was our departure day. I didn't end up getting one, but I did see they had High Lie on tap. And there ain't nothing better than a High Lie on tap, baby. There you go. Anyway, so next time, next time I'm looking forward to that. Um, also, right next to that, the Garden View Lounge is open again. So they're doing their tea afternoon tea again for the first time in, I think since 2019, right? Didn't they shut it down? And it's been it's been a long time. Yeah, the Alice in Wonderland theming there is open.

Jessica

But didn't they update it a little bit too much?

Tyler

They updated a little bit, I think new carpet, new furniture kind of stuff. So that kind of went hand in hand with this.

Jessica

Um it spills out now out onto the or am I thinking of the Beauty and the Beast one?

Tyler

The Enchanted Rose.

Jessica

Yeah, maybe I'm thinking well anyway.

Tyler

I don't really remember what it looked like too much beforehand because we never did it. Um but the new stuff looks very nice.

Jessica

So yeah, I could see us eventually doing it with the girls.

Tyler

Oh, absolutely. Yeah, that'll be fun. So yep, that's just changes at the GF. Yep.

Polynesian Tower Food Views And Theme

Jessica

Now, another thing that we personally experienced on the same day, we were doing a lot in a nice little resort loop hop. Resort, why can't resort hopping? I couldn't get there. What's wrong with me? Yeah, anyway.

Tyler

Resort loop hop, that works.

Jessica

RLH. Anyway, we truly did stop at every resort we were enjoying that on our last day, and we ended at, or no, midway through, we were at the Polynesian, and we walked over, first of all, to we walked over to the tower, but we passed Captain Cook's, which is under renovation. I mean, it is all scaffolded. I mean, it was kind of crazy. I didn't even know. So, anyway, we walked to the new DVC Tower there at the Polynesian and ate at the new restaurant there, which is called Wailulu Bar and Grill, and it has this gorgeous, very big outdoor seating area, like on a patio. You know, you're under shelter, but it is beautiful, has beautiful views of Bay Lake. Then, or is that Bay Lake there, or is that Bay Lake Lake?

Tyler

No, that's Seven Seas Lagoon. Okay, and Bay Lake is over there.

Jessica

Yeah, Seven Seas Lagoon. You can go into the lobby and enter the restaurant proper. We ended up eating inside because it was actually really rainy.

Tyler

Super windy, yeah.

Jessica

I have an update for you that you might not have heard. So they're actually, I think, as we speak, doing construction now to extend the kind of roofing over the patio area so that rain and wind is not just spraying in on guests. And I remember that happening. There were a few people out there, and I was like, that does not look comfortable to like be out there in this. So I think they're trying to make that change quickly.

Tyler

So that's obviously rains often enough that it's gonna be a problem.

Jessica

Yeah, yeah. And then the wind off the water, like it was just so I'm glad that they're changing it quickly so it can be enjoyable. Because again, that's a very large, big seating area. It is gorgeous.

Tyler

I mean, it was beautiful. Yeah, I did it. It was one of my favorite things that we did. The food was really good, the service was great.

Jessica

The food we got. Did we both get a poke bowl?

Tyler

I think so, yeah.

Jessica

Oh my gosh, you guys.

Tyler

Amazing.

Jessica

It's one of the best things I've ever I've had in Disney. It was so fresh tasting. Oh, my mouth is watering, just thinking about it. It was very, very good. The kids were happy with whatever they got. I'm sure it was mac and cheese and fruit or whatever.

Tyler

But again, the the outside area, we didn't sit in it this time, but next time I would love to sit outside if it wasn't just like some show range. And it was just so, you know. I mean, and sitting out there, I mean, I love it. The uh the lobby there, like I was saying though, was I telling the new tower. I don't think I mentioned it on here. I think I was talking to like our friends about it.

Jessica

Yeah.

Tyler

The lobby of the new tower, I think it's very nice.

Jessica

It's pretty, yeah.

Tyler

It's very pretty, but I think it's very much standard hotel fare. Like it's there's nothing very about it. No, it's not that it's not Polynesian. It just feels like it feels like a Hilton in like if I was staying at a nice Hilton in Hawaii, that's probably exactly what it would look like. It doesn't feel very like themed, which is again when I'm in Disney, I want a little bit over-themed. You know what I mean? This was kind of like bland. And it was, I don't know.

Jessica

And it's not that it wasn't pretty, it was very pretty beautiful, but it was just kind of like Yeah, I could see that. I could see that it was, I'm sure it was a very conscious choice, choice of theirs, but it's kind of the same way as like the Riviera. Like maybe you walked into the Riviera, because I feel like you might not guess what the theme was. You know what I mean? And I feel like if you walked into this new tower, you without knowing the name, you probably wouldn't be able to guess what the theme is.

Tyler

Yeah. I think I was talking about it on here because we were talking about Animal Kingdom Lodge and how how themed.

Jessica

And that's what makes it so awesome.

Tyler

Yeah.

Jessica

So again, it's just our opinion. But we did really like it. And I I would like to still stay at the tower at some point because the rooms look amazing. Yes, and again, the view, the location. We walked from after our meal at Wailulu quickly because it was starting to rain and super windy. We walked very quickly over to the Grand Floridian. Very quick, very pleasant walk from there. So that's just a nice bonus. You can walk all the way to the park, you can walk all the way to Magic Kingdom. It's not too terribly long of a walk.

Tyler

You had a stroller, you didn't want to break down on a nice evening, like if you're waiting for the monorail, or you can just take that nice stroll back in the evening if you're not too tired. I mean, I would, yeah. Yeah, that's what I would do, especially with the TTC and stuff. Okay. Um, all right. So that's everything at the new Polynesian Tower. So, okay, moving on. Were there any other resorts? While we're on the resorts, anything else there?

Jessica

Well, towards the end, we're gonna have a random small update section, and some of those might involve

Monstropolis Replaces Muppets Courtyard

Jessica

resorts, but we'll get there.

Tyler

Okay, all right, so let's move on to the parks then. So Monstropola Monstropolis updates.

Jessica

Monstropolopolis. Janine Garofalo and Janine.

Tyler

Mark Garuffalo and Garafa Rufalo.

Jessica

So Monstropolis updates, it is taking the place, of course, of the Muppets 3D, the Muppets courtyard, like all of that. And Pizza Rizzo is gone. So my understanding of the new land, as a lot of us know, is that there's gonna be the roller coaster, which is gonna be like the doors, them going into the rooms. That is gonna be so cool. And that will be where generally where the Muppets theater was, and then some, obviously. Um, and then Pizza Rizzo is gonna be a quick service, but they haven't announced what it will be. And then they're also gonna have a sit-down restaurant that is Harry Housen's.

Tyler

Oh my gosh. Is that awesome?

Jessica

Um, so that will be all of that is gonna be amazing. I cannot wait. I know so many of you guys are excited. So that same account bio reconstruct posted, and we'll we'll show it here if you're watching the video version on YouTube. A picture of kind of where we're at. In the concept art, like areas that have trees. They've kind of leveled areas where it looks like they're probably going to plant trees based on that. Um, they've changed or removed the signage or at least covered a lot of the signage from the Muppets, changing those out. Um, and they've also laid a lot of the framework like on the ground for the uh ride. So they're, I mean, they're underway. And did we have an opening?

Tyler

Uh I don't know the general.

Jessica

Not sure. Open in 2027 or 2028. So I'm I'm I'm assuming that means Disney's also not sure.

Tyler

So between now and 2030, it'll be it'll be there.

Jessica

That's right. But very exciting. They are definitely moving and grooving. Like this is all happening. I would be curious to know, because we're gonna go through some more things being built right now. How many people are working on construction in Disney World right now? It has to be so many people.

Tyler

I would I would bet we're in, I mean, close to a thousand people at least.

Jessica

At least. At least. Anyway.

Party Season And Thunder Mountain Glow Up

Tyler

Yeah, with everything going on. Yeah. Um, okay, uh, Mickey's not so scary is coming back, obviously. They keep if anything, they just keep adding to the show. Oh my gosh, and they just keep selling out and selling.

Jessica

But they just announced when we're we're filming this a little early, right? By the time you are seeing this, I would bet the dates have been released and they are for sale. So usually it's around mid-May that they announce it, that they release them. So you're hearing or watching this in mid-May. If you are interested, these do tend to sell out.

Tyler

Especially right around Halloween.

Jessica

Yeah, so it's definitely worth considering. Usually it's October, September, and I feel like it dips into August a little bit.

Tyler

Yeah, they keep adding more and more dates because they keep selling out.

Jessica

I mean, and again, you want people that want to experience it. I'm sure Disney would like they would love to take the money, but also they want people to be able to experience it if they want to. So I understand adding dates, but man, it's eventually it's gonna be in June.

Tyler

Like, oh yeah, they keep adding dates and they keep adding to the cost. It keeps, I mean, it's it has gotten very expensive. We've we've talked about the last couple of years, like we've talked about doing it, and we have ended up not doing it because it's gotten so expensive.

Jessica

Yeah, it's hard to justify, but if you've never been, I still think you do it. I still think you do it, but it we've been a couple times, so that's why we're like, I'm gonna go ahead and do it.

Tyler

Yeah, it's amazing. It is amazing, it's so good.

Jessica

It is amazing.

Tyler

Okay, this is one that I am beyond excited. So Big Thunder Mountain. So opening May 3rd. This is so it's open by the time. Yeah, so I think this is coming out May 13th. So, like 10 days ago, it opened. So, you probably have already heard all this. This, but we're excited about it right now. So uh little couple of the things. New opening scene, the rainbow cavern is being updated. New being like added.

Jessica

I don't even think they're trying to remember, it was never really a rainbow. I think it's truly going to be like rainbow caverns versus the caverns they had before. Right, exactly.

Tyler

So yeah, all new track. When I knew they were doing this, I didn't realize they were actually laying all new track.

Jessica

And new trains. All new.

Tyler

So when I thought I thought they were just doing like this refurb, I'm like, what is taking them so long? Now I'm realizing ah that's that's a good thing.

Jessica

But think about how like jittery it was. It's probably going to be smooth now, the way like oh that's it. That's exactly my thought, too.

Tyler

So let me pull up.

Jessica

This is another mind train. How funny that they basically have two mind trains, but they also are gonna have a new opening scene. Like it really is gonna feel like a very fresh new ride. And that is so exciting because that's a beloved attraction. It's been around a long time. And so I love that instead of totally changing it or tearing it down or anything like that, they have just m updated it for the time we're in with better technology, better tracks, like yeah.

Tyler

So I have here Disney's thing. So here's what they they said. They said, There's gold in that there mountain. The story of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad dates back to olden times, or rather, golden times. During the early days of America's first major gold rush, when Barnabas T. Bouillon struck gold in the Big Thunder region, he saw a future full of riches and hustled to start the Big Thunder Mountain Company. Now, uh, it's uh see the picture.

Jessica

Oh, who's that? That's a Disney person. Who is it? Um I can't think of his name. What's his name? Rats and the cat no John Hench. I don't know.

Tyler

No, not John Hench.

Jessica

Who is it? You don't know, I don't know. Um you can't think of the name, King.

Tyler

However, the them shiny dreams rarely come without a cost, and Boolean quickly found himself in a battle with the forces of nature in a whole heap of trouble. One day, strange and unexplainable things started happening. Machines failed, cave-ins shut shut mines down. No matter how deep the miners dug into the heart of the mountain, the forces of Big Thunder fought back. And then it goes on from there. So anyway, so um a key part of the furbis refurbishment was installing a new track, refresh passenger chains, uh, and it says these updates were carefully planned to preserve the mountains, uh I'm sorry, to preserve the attraction's classic storytelling and trademark Hooten and Holler and Energy while adding new uh life, movement, and detail to the guest to the experience that guests know so well. Now, here's the big thing that's very exciting. With all the improvements made to the attraction, along with the comprehensive review from our safety teams, Big Thunder Mountain will reopen with a lowered height requirement of 38 inches. So climbable prospectors. Yeah. Yeah. So I think, yeah. So 40, was it 40 or 42?

Jessica

I thought it was 40. Maybe it's for well, either way, definitely lowered at least two inches, maybe four. How exciting. Who is it that's doing the thing? You don't know his name either. Is that why you is that you're looking it up?

Tyler

Tony Baxter.

Jessica

That's who it is.

Tyler

Um, but I'm not sure.

Jessica

So we didn't explain what it was. Let's watch the picture.

Tyler

I figured I would put the picture up, yeah. That's Tony Baxter. It's it's a it's like a painted picture of Tony Baxter, but I feel like as the old they used something like this in another park overseas, or maybe it was Joe Rhody.

Jessica

That's funny.

Tyler

But it was like it was it looked like an old oil painting, but it was one of them. Anyway, so that is that. That is very exciting. Uh, anything else about Big Thunder?

Jessica

Oh, just an interesting tidbit. They just added very, very, very tall fences around Big Thunder so that when you're riding the ride, you can't see Villains Land and Pix Pistons Peak. I'm like, how tall? Now, my guess is when you're near the top of the ride, you have to be able to see. Right? Right. I mean, they can't be that tall. So, but apparently they're very tall, and they definitely are helping, not helping with the sightlines, but making it so that you can't see it, I'm assuming for most of the ride.

Tyler

But also, wasn't kind of the whole point of putting Pistons Peak where it is, is that it also kind of ties in with Defender?

Jessica

During construction. These are construction fences. Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. They will undoubtedly come down, at least probably between those. Now, with villains, like I don't know how I'm sure I'm sure they'll do long-term rocks, trees, things like that. But just for now while they're building. Sorry.

Tyler

Okay, that makes more sense.

Jessica

It's just some just some wood fencing to block it.

Tyler

Anyway, hey, you know what? You say that at Slinky Dog Dash, we were in the uh fast pass line, the lightning lane line. And sure enough, I was looking in the back. There's just a big old fence, and it kind of works with it being Andy's backyard, but I was kind of looking at there's an area in the back there. I'm like, that's just a big old wooden fence. And I'm like, that was done on the cheap.

Jessica

Okay, let's talk magic of animation courtyard. That is um the area near the Little Mermaid. They're in Hollywood Studios. It is opening very, very soon, very

Animation Courtyard Returns And H2O Nights

Jessica

soon. I'm so sad it wasn't open when we were there. I mean, we knew it wouldn't be, but I'm still sad about it. I think this is like the greatest idea of bringing what they used to have into the park again. And it's also similar to the same kind of thing over in Disneyland, which I love that area. The sorcerer's hat is officially installed above the entryway. Now it's not as big as the old one. Hold on.

Tyler

To all those Disney news outlets that put the headline out over the last couple weeks that the hat is back in Hollywood Studios. How dare you? Because I clicked on it so fast and I was like, what? They brought it back? And I fell for it. And how dare you? How do you live with yourself?

Jessica

I was so excited. I've seen way worse titles.

Tyler

Oh my gosh. Don't get me started. But I was so excited.

Jessica

I hope that we put on our thumbnail the hat is back.

Tyler

Just really sorcerer hat back at Hollywood Studios.

Jessica

I was like, but you know what we have to do to really sell it is we gotta have just a picture of the original sorcerer's. Oh, that's what they did. That is exactly what they did. That may be what we do for this, just to get and you know what?

Tyler

You know what? They were jerks, and you can call us jerks too.

Jessica

We'll see if we do it or not. You you already know.

Tyler

I fell for it. Okay. Anyway, okay.

Jessica

So it's opening in the summer, so it's so, so soon. And just a reminder it's um learning to draw Olaf with live animators. It's uh the Alice and Wonderland.

Tyler

Wait, no, not live animators with uh they're recorded animators. Oh, I thought it was No, and that was kind of a thing where people were like I could have sworn it's it's it's it's they're real animators from the studio.

Jessica

Maybe they said real, and I thought that meant live.

Tyler

Right, and that was kind of a point of contention. Some people were saying they were mad because they're not live, like you know, in the parks people, you know what I mean? They're animators from the studio, which I actually think is kind of cooler because then they're real animators from the studio versus just somebody who kind of happened to draw, you know, as well. Yeah, I guess that's true. I guess it's people who actually draw from the studios. I don't know. I think it's gonna be cool either way. And I think the other thing is it's gonna be obviously more consistent. So everybody that goes gets a real animation.

Jessica

I love doing learn to draw classes so much. So I'm very excited. And my favorite part of it will be the Alice in Wonderland playground. We need more playgrounds in the parks. I'll say it until I'm blue in the face. I am so excited about that. And I love that it's indoors because it's hot or rainy. But the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live will reopen May 26th. So that'll be the earliest thing to reopen. Reopen. But they also painted, um, and this was we got this picture from uh WW News today, a picture of the Silly Symphonies, like an old billboard. They have like painted on one of the sides of the animation building. Oh I love that. I'm like more of that, more, more, more. So that I thought was a really cool addition that they just did. So very exciting stuff that's gonna open really, really soon.

Tyler

All right, we can go through this next one here pretty quickly, but H2O Glow Nights is coming back at Typhoon Lagoon. Uh, it's a three-hour event from uh starting in June through September of this year. I think they're doing it for 13 different nights. If you don't know, it's Typhoon Lagoon at night. They light it up, they do all kinds of cool stuff. There's very cool character meet and greets.

Jessica

Like rare characters.

Tyler

Apparently, this year they're doing Max as in from the Goofy movie. Nice as Power Line.

Jessica

Fantastic.

Tyler

Right.

Jessica

Um, so uh lower wait times for a lot of the like water slides.

Tyler

Exactly. Yeah. So that I don't know, all that kind of stuff. You get a DJ, dance party.

Jessica

You also get included with your tickets certain snacks and drinks, too.

Tyler

Right.

Jessica

So it's it really is a fun, different event. And it's a cool way to experience the water parks, like do a park during the day and then do that at night or just hang out at your hotel during the day. Like, what a fun. I would love if we were going this summer, I would totally do that.

Tyler

Absolutely. I would love to do that at some point. The big one that I'm really excited about. Rock and roller coaster officially opening in 13 days from this.

Jessica

If you're watching on the first day here, the same

Muppets Take Over Rock N Roller Coaster

Jessica

day as actually the uh Disney Jr. opening.

Tyler

Oh, yeah. It's May 26th. So Rock and Roller Coaster starring the Muppets is coming. I cannot wait.

Jessica

So what a quick trip.

Tyler

I gotta I gotta say, I gotta say, I was not overly happy about this to start with. But Disney typically does a pretty good job. And after looking at some of the concepts and looking at some of the videos that they've been posting about some of the things they're doing, I'm like, all right, they're gonna do it, they're gonna do it right. Uh I gotta pull up here exactly what they're calling. I think this is the exactly the thing that convinced me here. Hold on, I gotta find it.

Jessica

So one of the other things while he's looking this up that I've seen recently is that they are giving sneak peeks of the queue. And it's got a lot of the things like from the great gonzo and stuff that you saw in the Muppets 3D uh like waiting area. A lot of that type of stuff. I'm assuming they would just take some of the exact stuff. I don't know why they would. Yeah, um, but either way, yeah, a lot of that in the queue, which of course makes so much sense. And the more I think about it, the more genius this crossover is. When at first I heard, I thought, what do you mean? It's gonna be a rock and roll cursor with the Muppets like, but with the little band.

Tyler

Yep, yeah, the electric mayhem. Yeah, that's so here's what it says. So the electric mayhem, one night only. So the electric mayhem is headlining the most buzzworthy concert Hollywood has ever seen. Dr. Teeth, Animal Floyd, Janice Zoot, and the Lips are ready to rock the house, and everyone who's anyone will be there. There's only one problem: the band is nowhere to be found.

Jessica

Oh no.

Tyler

Your VIP tour kicks off inside G Force Records, an iconic rock and roll recording studio where the magic and mayhem is just getting started.

Jessica

G Force Records. Is that what they call it before?

Tyler

Yep.

Jessica

I'm surprised they didn't change it, but also it's kind of nice that they didn't.

Tyler

Kind of an homage to the yeah. So out in the roller coaster courtyard, the uh uh attractions iconic guitar marquee is making a bold new statement. Uh just put their own spin on the Ruby Red guitar featuring a vibrant psychedelic design inspired by the classic Muppet car paint job.

Jessica

Yeah, have you seen it's like tie-dye rainbow cutter looks like we'll put the concept art here on the YouTube version if you're looking.

Tyler

It's very, very cool. So there's all kinds of uh poster art they're putting up. There's all kinds of celebrities that are gonna be um on the like cameos in it, um, including looking here. Aquafina, Danny Trejo, Darren Chris, John Stamos, Neopatrick Harris, Travis Barker, Yvette Nicole Brown, Wayne Brady, and Weird Al Yankovic.

Jessica

Wow, what a cast of characters.

Tyler

So, yeah, including in the queue and all the way throughout in the merch shop. Um, so here's here's what the merch is gonna be cool. Um, so I'm not gonna read through the whole thing here, but this you go through it's very sounds very similar. Obviously, it's the same setup as what was before. You're looking at the band in the video, and then you go into the back alley to go under the ride. And it says, thanks to the newest technological advancements from Muppet Labs, guests will board a superpowered vehicle in the alleyway just behind Studio C, known as the lengthy immediate motion object or limo. And I'm like, that is the most Muppet thing you can ever call. The lengthy immediate motion object. I'm like, that's it told me. I'm like, all right, that's it. And then the last thing here is they have the set list. Um, and so it sounds like they're doing it like Guardians, where every time you write it, it's gonna be a different song.

Jessica

Love that idea.

Tyler

So some of them I recognize, some of them I don't. Song Two by The Electric Mayhem, Born to Be Wild by the Electric Mayhem, featuring Camilla the Chicken. Love Roller Coaster by the Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson and Quest Love. Ooh. That one's gonna be awesome. Rock, Rock Till You Drop, The Electric Mayhem featuring Def Leopard, and Walking on Sunshine, The Electric Mayhem featuring Kelly Clarkson. Oh my god. That one's gonna be awesome too. So anyway, there's more uh than that, but that's the stuff that got me excited. The set list and the fact that they're calling it the lengthy immediate motion object. That's amazing. Okay, moving on.

Jessica

So very exciting opening so soon. Uh, random small updates. These are quick little bite-sized uh news bits. There has been

Tiny Updates With Big Feelings

Jessica

a nod to the river country added. They recently refurbished the main pool at Fort Wilderness, the meadow meadow swimming pool. Just reopened. And they have this little like water cistern. I don't know what it actually is. You might. But anyway, in there and it says River Country on it.

Tyler

And that's trouble.

Jessica

But it says River Country on it, and I just think that's such a cool homage. I want more, okay? I want more. But I love that they just randomly did that. Like didn't tell anyone.

Tyler

They didn't have to do that. It's just nice. Just nice. Just nice.

Jessica

It's just nice. Um, and then the other one that I this was the first thing I put on our news roundup.

Tyler

Yeah, I saw this and I'm like, you're shut up. You're very excited about this. This is the first thing that was written down.

Jessica

The best thing that Disney has ever added in the past, how long has it been open? Over 50 years. The best addition is the addition of hand soap in the hotels that is a pump, not bar soap. You guys? Two two things. One. I have some complaints with bar soap. I I use bar soap from time to time, okay? But when you're washing your hands with bar soap, it always leaves the mess, okay? Especially with kids.

unknown

Okay.

Jessica

But I feel like if my hands are like extremely dirty, let's say I've got sunscreen on or makeup on them, whatever, I get the soap on, whatever, and then I even rinse the bar soap off, but I set it there, and I can still see just junk on the soap itself. Then you gotta clean the soap. Then I gotta feel like I gotta clean the soap, then I gotta wipe the area. It's a whole thing. I hate bar soap. And I always wonder, you know, they're replacing this bar soap all of the time, and you're through you're recycling the thing, you're throwing the bar soap. You never go through a bar. You never go through a bar. But I'm like, wouldn't it be more cost effective and environmentally friendly to just have the pumps that they just refill? Well, folks, we've made it, and they do, and that is so wonderful. I, as dumb as it sounds, hate bar soap so much in this kind of environment that we in our like purple owner's locker tote that we have, I have pump hand soap in there.

Tyler

You know what? There's nothing worse than, you know, you go to wash your hands, you got your hands all wet, you're ready to go, and then you look at it and you're like, oh no, I gotta open the buttons. It's all it's all wrapped up. So you either gotta dry your hands, start over from scratch, unwrap the paper, you know, it's like a little present, and then which is fun. That is that part is exciting. It's it's like it's like a like and then you gotta start it all, start the whole process over again, or you gotta have the wet unwrap, which is just an unpleasant experience. And then you gotta like drip dry, you know, as you try and find it to get over the trash can, and then you gotta so thank you, Disney.

Jessica

Thank you for solving all of our very dumb problems. Now our hands are cleaner than ever.

Tyler

So one very cool thing Pop Century, the lobby. Well, I don't know if it's cool, but it did happen. Shadow boxes were removed. It's funny because we did our episode on Pop Century.

Jessica

Yeah.

Tyler

And we talked all about how much we loved the shadow boxes in the lobby.

Jessica

Within weeks.

Tyler

I think it was the day that episode went live.

Jessica

That's it.

Tyler

They were removed. Removed all the shadow boxes from the thing. Anyway, uh the it's official that is now done. I think it was about a month ago. Disney officially had everything done. So uh the new lobby looks very cool. Uh, it celebrates the decades with new lobby details. The old one celebrated decades too. I liked looking.

Jessica

I wish they just had like an area, like a little mini museum of the shadow boxes. If you don't want to have them in the lobby, fine, but I want to look at them.

Tyler

So it says the first thing guests will notice when they step into the newly reimagined lobby is how bright and energetic the space is, with plenty of spots to pause, take everything in, and snap a photo before heading out for a Disney day. Vibrant floor-to-ceiling artwork inspired by pop culture from the 1950s to the 1990s, larger-than-life illustrations of the Disney's Fab Five. Um, the decades come alive through bold patterns and graphics like the TV wall, a collection of vintage-style television frames. So it looks very cool. I mean, I again I think it looks very nice. It's yeah.

Jessica

I want to see. Hold on. I want to look. Oh, okay.

Tyler

My thought is that is gonna become the it will put up. That's gonna be dated really dated.

Jessica

I already feel like it's dated.

Tyler

It seems like something I would have seen in 2003 in Disney. That and it doesn't really scream 1990s to 1950s to me. It screams 2003 Disney to me.

Jessica

We'll pop up a picture.

Tyler

Yeah. You guys make your own judgment.

Jessica

You're gonna see. It looks like the computer room in spaceship Earth.

Tyler

So now the the TV area that they're talking about, where like the you know, if the somebody's going to check in, the kids can go watch TV, you know, and all that kind of stuff. They did put the TVs up there. That's kind of cool. I kind of like that little area. I don't know if you can see that one there. You can see it here.

Jessica

Let me see.

Tyler

I like that. I think that was kind of a cool little bit.

Jessica

Oh, that's see, that's cute.

Tyler

But other than that, yeah, I'm okay.

Jessica

So but it does. It does. We still love Pop Century, okay?

Tyler

It does maybe match the rest of the resort now a little better. Uh I don't know.

Jessica

Yeah, that's true.

Tyler

I don't know.

Jessica

I think the lobby needed an update. Maybe the shadow boxes had to go. Okay. I can concede that.

Tyler

Yeah.

Jessica

But I don't know that that's what I would have done.

Tyler

I don't have a great eye for design, though, so you can't go by.

Jessica

Me either.

Tyler

Um, okay, so cool off at Pedal's Pool Bar. So pedals pool bar apparently was updated. I don't see a big difference in the pictures, um, but I'm only looking at the new one. I can't really compare it to the old one. Do you notice any differences in that?

Jessica

That looks exactly how it looked when we were there. Maybe it was already done. I don't know.

Tyler

I don't know. So apparently they updated pedals, the little pool bar there. And then they also refreshed the rooms. So I do know that they kind of did uh they redid the floors a little bit. They've got like this little rug thing on the bottom. I don't think it's actually a real rug. I think it's made to look like a rug, but it's hard to tell in the in the photos. They painted the walls blue. They were they were doing this. We talked about this actually a while ago. I think when we were doing the Pop Century episode, they had started on this. So we already talked about these changes, but now they're done. So all those changes are done. The rooms, apparently pedals, pool bar, and then the lobby. So that's all going there at Pop Century. Um, again, I still love Pop Century. It's still my favorite.

Jessica

It's yeah, top tier. Here's an interesting one. I learned about uh Bay Lake apparently had this shoe tree. We're gonna pop up a picture of it. I have never heard of this in my life. I don't know if you have, but apparently it was a tree that happens to be now on the land where they're doing Lakeshore Lodge. So cast members that would work on Bay Lake or in the area would apparently hang a shoe or two on the tree. And it was just like this unspoken of tradition. Um well, spoken of, but only by some people. Yeah. Well, the tree still stands in that area, but they Disney did remove all the shoes, which again, I understand, but I'm like, oh, that's kind of sad. I'm sure the people that left all their shoes there were bummed. Yeah. Um, what a funny job though. All right, well, I gotta go to work today. Gotta go remove should be a good thing.

Tyler

And then, yeah, the final thing that's been open for a while now, especially by the time this comes out, but Buzz Lightyear is open in Magic Kingdom.

Jessica

With their new um technology that's just better. We all know if you've done the Buzz Lightyear ride in the past, like we know what that was like, and it wasn't great. And so I'm delighted that they redid it because it's a great ride, otherwise.

Tyler

All right. So now looking at what you guys had to say here. So again, on our Disneyville welcome to Disneyville Instagram, we asked if you guys had anything you guys wanted to talk about,

Listener Questions Villains Land Debate

Tyler

had questions about, were excited about as far as Disney News goes. Please go follow us over on our Welcome to Disneyville Instagram because we're pretty active over there. And then whenever we do these episodes, that's where we get feedback and stuff like that, that's where we're gonna do it. So if you want to be involved in the conversation, that's where to do it. Okay, Tara Cook 927, Emperor's New Groove themed coaster, one of the most underrated Disney movies. Now, this is one of those things that I have heard the rumors, I don't believe the rumors. I don't so Disney has not announced this yet. I've heard so many people talking about this though, but I don't think see this happening.

Jessica

Now, would it be cool 100%?

Tyler

And I think it's because it's one of those things where they're, you know, pull the lever, wrong lever. I think that's what people are basing this off of. I don't see this actually happening.

Jessica

I don't think I don't see Disney doing this.

Tyler

I don't think if we don't have a Hercules roller coaster yet, I don't think we're gonna have an in-person who groove roller coaster.

Jessica

And I just don't think, I think, okay, picture this, you guys. We, the ones that are making this podcast and the ones that are listening/slash watching our podcast, you may be deep in the Disney world or even medium deep or even low deep. But Disney is not can't just appeal to us, even though we want them to only appeal to us. They have to also appeal to the masses. And the masses Emperor's New Groove a lot of people love, but it is not big the way that other movies with villains are. And so I could see the ride just being a straight up villain's ride, where that could be part, but it's just like you go through multiple villains or something like that. Or I could see it being like maleficent. I'm talking villains that people know, people that are traveling to Walt Disney World, aren't just coming from the states, they're coming from all over the world. And so I would Be shocked if they did Ember's New Groove. Now, would it be awesome? Yes. Would there could there be an homage, especially with Disney listening to all of this? I bet there will be something because there's no way they take all this feedback and don't do something with it.

Tyler

That's it. And I have a feeling it's just one of those things where somebody started talking about it and then it just kind of took off.

Jessica

Maybe. Maybe we're wrong. Maybe in six months a year, we'll be like, wow, I can't believe they're doing it. They're doing it. Yeah, yeah. It would be awesome. I'm not, I would not complain. I would love that. But yeah, I don't know. What are your guys' thoughts? Do you think Disney would actually, for the main ride there in Villains Land, make it Emperor's New Groove? I would just be very surprised.

Tyler

I do know that they're kind of going back to the drawing board. And I think part of that is that Josh DeMaro wants to do something bigger and different because a big part of his legacy is going to be Villains Land, no matter how you slice it. Because I mean, even if he's CEO for 20 years, that's going to be four years, three years, four years into his tenure as CEO. So especially if he only stays on for 10 years, that's going to be a big part of what he's remembered for. So I think he wants to do something bigger, better than what is on the door. Bigger, better, better. Exactly. So I think it will end up being bigger than what we have now. But I don't know what it's going to end up being. So anyway. Let's see.

Jessica

So many of you guys are excited about Monsters Inc., um, the door scene roller coaster. Ba Lena said, finally getting a Monsters Inc. door scene roller coaster. This has been a long time coming. A lot of you guys, Alexis Daly saying Magic Kingdom, Villains Land. So many people excited for Villains Land. I mean, if I'm being honest, of all of the lands coming, I think I'm the most excited about Villains Land. But to me, it's so far off. I'm just, it's not really on my radar because I know it's going to be a long time. So I'm more excited about like the things that are coming in the next year or two that I'm like, you can you can kind of sink your teeth into because there's more information.

Tyler

So between, okay, between Monstropolis, Tropical Americas, which we didn't do. Which are you most excited about? Are those the four? Are there any more than four?

Jessica

Villains land, easily.

Tyler

Yeah.

Jessica

But I'm really excited about Tropical Americas because Animal Kingdom just needs some fresh stuff, and I'm very excited about that. I'm very excited about it's hard to pick.

Tyler

I think I'm most excited about Tropical Americas. I honestly am not all that excited about Villains Land.

Jessica

Ooh, you're wrong. I know.

Tyler

I know that I'm then in the minority here. You are. I honestly, people have been talking about doing a villains park forever, and I'm like, I don't, that doesn't sound appealing to me at all.

Jessica

Dude, Villains Land is gonna be so cool. Villains Land. You don't even know.

Tyler

I think Villains Land will be fine. I don't, I definitely don't think it could be its own park.

Jessica

Well, it doesn't matter because it's not gonna be its own parking.

Tyler

No, I know, but I'm saying I think Villains Land will be okay. I don't know. I just I'm not all that excited about that.

Jessica

I want to replay this clip and four years when Villains Land is a great. No, I know.

Tyler

I know. But I think I don't know. I think I'm really excited about Tropical Americas. I think that's gonna be really cool.

Jessica

Let me tell you why Villains Land is the most exciting. Monsters Inc. Land is gonna be amazing. I'm so excited about this. Same with Tropical Americas, but they are especially Monsters Inc. Land, what do you want to call that? Monstropolis. Monstropolis, yeah. It's a smaller scale versus what we're getting, both with the new cars expansion. Like Villains Land is a whole new land, which we have not gotten, which I guess Tropical America's kind of is too. But we don't know yet exactly what's gonna entail. But it is gonna feel like we are in a new park. And I think that is so the last thing we had like this was Galaxy's Edge, but we are not big, big Star Wars people. So it was fun and exciting, but not at the level, but like villains.

Tyler

I guess we'll see.

Jessica

I hope they have a candy cauldron in it. Okay, Brianna Logan White said, as a mom of a two-year-old, Bluey and Bingo at Animal Kingdom on May 26th. Oh, that's the other thing that's opening May 26th. I knew that was a big, big day.

Tyler

I was so sad we didn't get to see it. I was hoping to do it.

Jessica

I would avoid the parks on May 26th, you guys. But she said, just in time for our June trip. Yeah, that meeting Bluey and Bingo is gonna be so, so cool.

Tyler

Oh, Carolina on my mind this summer. Animation courtyard, yes, Bluey and Soren for the 250th. Yes, they're doing Soren over America, which should be very cool. I I I am very excited about that.

Jessica

So much new. Abigail K. Flowers says Thunder Mountain being a smoother ride and lower height. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. We didn't even touch on this. DFW Disney Dad said Walt at the start of Carousel of Progress. Oh, that's right. The animatronic at Disneyland is cool and a great way to upgrade. I agree. Yeah. When is that gonna? I mean, that is I love Carousel of Progress so much. We wrote it this last time, and I was just like, in heaven, I just love that.

Tyler

I'll be curious if they do anything with that. If they when they're updating and putting the animatronic in, are they gonna also update the final scene? Are they gonna do anything else? I don't have they announced that maybe they've already announced that. I don't know.

Jessica

I don't know.

Tyler

Cool Kids Summer. We talked about that last episode. Yeah, there's all kinds of amazing stuff going on this summer. If you are going this summer, it is gonna be a blast.

Jessica

There's yeah, I'm kind of sad that we I don't think we are, and we are missing out on a lot because there's a lot.

Tyler

So, yeah, sorry, I I didn't actually read this, I just said that. So RMH0116 said Cool Kids Summer. I hope the Goofy Food Booth Returns food was so good, but they did so much with Cool Kid Summer.

Jessica

They I was astounded last summer when we were experiencing it. Friend like Bailey said, I can't wait for Monsters Inc., but if we don't get a Harry Housen's, I will ride it. We are for sure. Um, as far as I know, it's been confirmed. And I did learn too, it's gonna be in the Mama Melrose's spot.

Tyler

Oh, that makes perfect sense. Yeah, of course. Yep. Um, sorry, RMH0116, the one I just said, also said the new resort mug design. Finally. Yes.

Jessica

We we got our hands on one and we love on one. I mean, each of us with the dining plan absolutely love the new design. Yeah, I got an orchid.

Tyler

Finally, something finally a little bit different. Yeah. I always get a blue one, I feel like it's nice to get something different.

Jessica

I mean, overwhelmingly, you guys, Muppets Rock and Roller Coaster, Monsters Inc. coaster, Villains Land, a lot of villains. So excited about Encanto. Yeah, we didn't even really touch on the Encanto ride in Animal Kingdom. I cannot wait. That is one of my favorite, favorite movies. Also, having a carousel in another park is gonna be so nice.

Tyler

And I just I just feel like I don't know, maybe because that one feels like travelly to me. And I just and maybe that's why I'm more excited about that. I just, I don't know.

Jessica

I think we don't have any details about that. I think once you were like, oh, it's gonna be this. On all the other ones, we know what the rides are gonna be.

Tyler

Yeah.

Jessica

This is the only one we don't know what restaurants they're gonna be. We have no idea what characters is gonna be focused on. We don't know anything.

Tyler

Yeah, I don't, yeah. I don't know.

Jessica

I think once you have something to sink your teeth into, you might be more excited. Yes, Tay Fairborn said, dying to see the new indoor Alice playground. Me too. I just think that is so cute. This the idea of it and also having, like I said, another playground, especially indoors. So overwhelmingly, I mean, we could keep going, but a lot of it is repeating the same things that we're all just so excited.

Tyler

Yeah, so what a time.

Jessica

Yeah, what a time to be going to the Disney parks or even in the next few years, or also just being a Disney park lover. There's so much change, so much new stuff, all of it good.

Tyler

When again, when Epic Universe is opening and Disney has to compete. I think I said this I think I said this last time.

Jessica

It's not a monopoly because then they have to compete.

Tyler

I think I said this exact quote last time. But I remember when I was a kid, there was a commercial on TV, and it was like, when banks compete, you win. You win.

Jessica

And I feel like that's what when theme parks compete, you win.

Tyler

Anyway, all right.

Jessica

Well, that's make a t-shirt that says that, but it's got like a picture of the castle and a picture of like the Universal Studios ball. And you in the middle just going, thumbs up. Okay, so we love to read a review. If you guys leave us a review on Apple Podcasts, it

helps us so much. We love reading through them, and so we try to read one when we remember to. Um, so this one is from JAC Loves Disney. She said, Amazing Disney podcasts. I'm a young Disney lover, and I'm one of the only people in my friend group that has this amazingly entertaining obsession. I feel ya. This podcast has been my go-to for car rides, track meets, and all the magic in between. That's awful. Wink, Jessica, if you can't get it right, I will for you. If you know, you know. Thank you. I nailed it this time, though, didn't I? I know. I had to practice in the shower today. Tyler and Jessica are amazing ghost hosts for this podcast and their delightful banter about the best Disney things from snacks to bathrooms that didn't come out right, but whatever. Keeps me coming back every day wanting more. My only complaint: more podcasts and Disneyland content. Please and thank you. If you pick this podcast to scratch that Disney itch, you've come to the right place. Thank you so much. That is so that was very funny, but also we've got to go to Disneyland more often so we can do more Disney. I mean, you guys, I love Disneyland so much.

Tyler

I know. We've got to get there more often.

Jessica

Anyway, all right. Well, we love you all. We'll be back in a couple weeks with a new episode. We've got so many exciting things in the world.

Tyler

And looking at our list of stuff, we've got some cool ones here. So hope you guys enjoyed this.

Jessica

Yes, yes.

Tyler

We'll see you guys in the next one. Bye, friends. Bye.
