Hello everybody and welcome back to another episode of Heart to Heart with Hads Today. I figured it would be super fitting to talk about goals. For one. We're nearing the end of 2024 and I set goals for myself. I actually found them in my notes and so I'm going to just go through it, share what I've learned, what I've accomplished, what I didn't accomplish, how I go about goals, etc. Etc. So I'm really excited. We're just going to dive into the episode, get in the nitty gritty, because I don't really have any recap or anything that I did from last week. It's honestly just been chipping away, grinding away from last week. It's honestly just been chipping away, grinding away.
Speaker 1:Last week I know I talked about that I had like a very calm, chill week and this week I got. I was back in my tendencies and habits of just doing too much, not allowing my body rest. So I guess this is a little update I am resting from. Well, I am not training until Monday, so I'm taking about five days off from not training, not cardio, none of it. So that'll be a good little reset for me, because my body was feeling it. My sleep was bad, my digestion was a little bit off, my hunger wasn't there for me because my body was feeling it, my sleep was bad, my digestion was a little bit off, my hunger wasn't there, and so I always know that whenever my appetite is not there, that I know that my stress is, I'm running on stress and fumes rather than just my actual natural energy, healthy selves. Sorry about that noise. I thought I had my phone or my computer. I did not start anyways, talking about goals. So, first of all, a lot of people set goals and then they never reach them, and then they're frustrated and then they wonder, and then they just they just give up and then they wonder why they don't ever get there. It's because most of the time, the goals that you're setting are way too unrealistic or you're not taking actionable steps to actually get there. So let's just see here I found my goals last week and I was like this is crazy because I didn't hit all my goals, but it's fine. 2024 goals. I made this on January 15th, 2024.
Speaker 1:I put 25 athletes, 25 books, full-time online coach, win overall NPC level, which I didn't even compete this year. So that's crazy. Put back 200 a month in savings. Didn't do that. Train each session like it's my last. Didn't necessarily do that because I was in a health phase through. I've been in a health phase pretty much for like a year just trying to to get my gut, my hormones, in a good spot, so and then I put call visit family members more often, which I have done, that, so I'm really proud of myself when it comes to that one. And then I put post valuable Instagram content 12 times a month and then I put moving with my boyfriend. But that that didn't happen, that's totally fine.
Speaker 1:Anyways, let's just go back to the top. So my first one 25 athletes, which is crazy because this time last year I think I probably had like 10 solid if that, and so getting to 25 was like a dream and I honestly thought that I was being very lofty with that goal. But I can honestly say that I have over 30. And what I've done to get there has been nothing short of hard for me. I was coaching with Dan, coaching with Icon, and I left that and I feel like that was a stepping stone for me to get to my goal of 25 athletes. Now, that was something really hard that I faced within this past year and it took a really big toll on me mentally and physically. It showed in both of those things and I know, though, deep down, like that's what I needed to do to continue to progress forward. Now, nowhere on here do I have start my own business or it was not even in my, I guess you could say, plan this year, but that helped me become a full-time online coach.
Speaker 1:Have 25 athletes and becoming a full-time online coach, I had to leave my nine-to-five job, which was also incredibly hard, because in that type of job, you have job security, basically like any type of corporate job. You're you know, like this is secure, like you're gonna get this income no matter what, whereas whenever you're owning your own business, whenever you're an entrepreneur, that income could flow and change every month. Mine has, I know. Just right before I got on here, I was looking at, I track my expenses and things like that, because I want to know for tax purposes and just like where I'm going wrong, where I'm spending money, delegating it. So I was looking at it and there's just it's ebbs and flows, like not every month is the same, which is crazy, and that's just something that you kind of have to deal with whenever you are owning your own business, and it is scary. It was scary at first because it was like, wow, like this stream is very up and down, but it's. It's just an amazing journey because I'm able to fully control. Like this is all me, like everything coming in and out is all a part of my doings and my commitment to myself and what I say I'm going to do, which is pretty freaking cool.
Speaker 1:Now, 25 books. I'm gonna have to go on my Goodreads because I just don't quite know if I got 25 books in this year and I need to stop setting book goals. I think, let me see, I'm on my. Okay, we're going to count them up. Maybe I did. Actually, I think I did. Let's see here. Okay, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, twenty. One, twenty two, twenty three, twenty four, twenty five literally 25 on the dot. Actually, I just finished another one, so I finished the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hiko. Oh, my god, I did read 25 books, hadley. What the heck that's so awesome. Anyways, I definitely have read more than that, though I read the Slight Edge, yeah, that's, that's inaccurate. I read more than 25. 25, but I read a lot of fiction. So this year I have a different goal. Let's just start writing them down.
Speaker 1:No, no, no, I was gonna make a whole other episode on goals for 2025. This was just more, more reflecting on this year. Actually, let's just go to my camera roll and let's just like map out what happened every single month and just see like where I was mentally and all that good stuff. Months, july so crazy, how camera roll. Okay, january 2024 here I was still at my, my corporate job this month. Here I was, one month post show. So I was incredibly lean still, and I think the end of that time was, whenever I start, the end of January's, when I started to get some like gut issues come up and I think it was just related to hormones, all of those things.
Speaker 1:But I think something that would be good for this next year going forward is like setting goals for each month. So I had these goals for the year, but setting them into actual like how many? It's, like how many books can I read this month? How many athletes can I get per week? Because obviously I do have a goal for 2025, like business goals, personal goals, all of that stuff, and so I think I will break them down into more monthly goals.
Speaker 1:So like, for example, like, say, I want to get to 50 athletes, I'm just going to write that down goals 2025 goals. Say I want 50 athletes, okay, well, I'm at 30 right now. That means I'm a little over 30, so that means 20. Okay, how many months are in a year? Let's see here 12. Duh, okay, I guess I just need to do 20 divided by 12, so like one, one and a half to a month, cool. And then this, this you know what I'm just gonna make? This one about goal setting. Okay, just this whole. Excuse me, what the heck, I'm recording this in the morning, so my voice is raspy. What the heck is going on. Anyways, okay, so I have 50 athletes to a month, and then, under that, we're going to put actionable steps to get to a month.
Speaker 1:And then this is where I'd go into Posting every day Post story Once a week about client and coaching and so on and so forth. But that's kind of what it looks like as far as just like breaking them down. Now, say, I want to go into my books, so let's just do 30 books. If I read 25, I'm just going to keep increasing it. 30 books, that's two a month. I think I could do that. So that's technically two or one every two weeks, which is easy if you read for at least 30 to 45 minutes a day. So then I'd write that Read 30 to 40 men every day. So I totally do that, because in the morning and night that's what I'm doing. Okay, cool, those are just two examples of goals.
Speaker 1:Okay, now let's just go back to my year recap. I don't know why I just I go off on tangents, but that's just how my brain works, anyway. So yeah, january I was still lean. I was still thinking like, oh my gosh, I'm going to compete, so I need to just be like grind, grind, grind. And my body was like dude, chill out, like actually chill the F out. I'm still seeing my corporate job here. I'm still seeing me post. I had my aura ring too. My sleep was, it said, my resting. Heart rate was 44 at night and it said that that was bad. Bad, which is not bad at all. It was just high compared to when you're in prep, when you're eating low amounts of food. It's like very, very low. Anyways, it's the only pierce I'm seeing. My birthday was in january.
Speaker 1:I was talking about ways to improve your gut. On Instagram these posts actually did pop off, so maybe I could go back. That's another thing, too, about going back and looking at things you've done is you can realize what you've done, like what works for you and what hasn't. And this just goes back to a lot of like, not even just business, but like training and all of those types of things Like what exercises are working for you, what's not. And this year I really realized how much I've been intentional, how much more I've been intentional with my training, and it shows within my physique. Dan, my coach, was just doing a side-by-side of all of my photos and I was like, holy crap, the most amount of progress I've made was in this in these last six months and it was because I pulled back tremendously on, just like my overall stress, my training intensity, and that just goes to show that, like you don't always need to be training like a maniac. A lot of people need it, like I do need it to an extent, but at the same time, like pushing till failure on everything because I know how hard I train does not serve my body well and I do not recover well. Also, having four training days first five has helped a lot too, and gives me a lot of time to recover. Oh looking, we finished our 12 week challenge. I had a lot of good transformations. Honestly, really cool to see those.
Speaker 1:What else here? I'm just seeing a lot of work stuff. Since I was a social media manager, I have so much stuff on my phone from that type of stuff which I'm just going through and deleting that right now. I see books on here. I was reading tons of books, a lot of Frida McFadden books, more of just like fictional type of books, but now I'm a lot more into the self-help and growth books. The recent one I just finished was the Slight Edge. Totally recommend that one, 10 out of 10. What I'm reading now is the Alchemist. I'm rereading it. I don't know if I've ever actually truly finished it, though is the thing, so I'm excited to keep reading that.
Speaker 1:Let's see here. Oh, I got Lip Filler in January. Who is she? I got Lip Filler and Botox, which had just recently gotten that done, and then I saw this thing about Botox on Instagram. There's this guy that I follow. He's like called Holistic Gut Health Coach or something like that, and he posted like all what, how it can affect your gut health and I was like, oh shit, I am never getting Botox again. I say that and then I'll be right back on it. So I am a holistic person. And then I go and do shit like that. And then I'm like, am I really? Though? So I actually I did also have a tanning membership and I canceled that because I was like, ew, I'm not going to do this. And so now, now I just self-tan, I use Loving Tan.
Speaker 1:I would like to find more of a brand that's cleaner as far as ingredients go. So let's just look that up on the YouGap. I'm so sorry. This episode's kind of like really random, but I feel like most people like when I'm just a little bit more random than just being like structured. So what am I looking for? Self-tan, okay, self-tan.
Speaker 1:And then I click best rated Clarins, bondi Sands, beauty by Earth says excellent. It says that's the best tanning. So we're going to look. Beauty by Earth says excellent, it says that's the best tanning. So we're going to look Beauty by Earth up on Amazon, because this looks good, it has an excellent that. And Clarins and I've never even heard of Clarins. And then Self Tan Facial Mist has a 93 out of 100. But this Self Tanner, oh, that's just lotion. I want foam Self Tanner oh, they have drops. Okay, they have mousse Self Tanner. Mousse Beauty by Earth Okay, there you have it, folks. If you ever want to know what you should get for any type of products, send it to me and I will look it up on my YouGap, because I have the paid version where you can just search anything up, like let me just search up Diet Pop Nothing even popped up. Pop, oh, popcorn's popping up.
Speaker 1:Anyways, I'm going to be going on too much of a tangent here. Let's get back to what we were talking about goal setting, goal setting working. All I see is a lot more of like working stuff. Food oh, we had a little valentine's get together, but I'm just seeing like goal wise or whatever I have. I see a muffin here which that's probably not conducive to my gut health back then. But I think I really didn't really really start noticing them until February, or at least that's when I spoke up to it, about it to Dan, and then he was like okay, we need to do this. And so then we kind of went on a little bit of a gut health journey.
Speaker 1:And one thing I, one thing I want to pinpoint out about gut health is that it takes time to heal your gut and people don't realize that and they want a quick fix to the goal setting. Like I, want to improve my gut health this year. Okay, what does it look like? Do you have indigestion, do you have heartburn and what are you going to do to help with that? You're going to stop eating in a stressed environment. You're going to fix your stress. You're not going to whiz through your day and be on freaking autopilot and never give yourself any downtime Like. These are the things you're going to have to do and if you don't do them, then you got to change your ways and it's I know it's easier said than done, but, like you, you have to do it to improve your health. It's, it's a non-negotiable Okay. Anywho. Improve your health. It's, it's a non-negotiable okay, anywho.
Speaker 1:Let's get back to what the f we're talking about. I'm just looking at all of my camera right now seeing what else. I went to a posing seminar. I got to go to another gym. Really, each month was just kind of like a blur because I was still working at my started my podcast, which that wasn't on my list of goals, but I'm glad that I did that. I see my pictures here from that. I did that in March. Let's see here. And then I made sourdough loaf. I want to get back into the sourdough. I just need to get a good starter. I'm writing these down as I go so maybe, hopefully, you guys are getting ideas sourdough, what else did I say? So I did start my podcast.
Speaker 1:So my goal for the end of 2025 is to be a functional health coach, practitioner, coach, slash practitioner. I'm currently in a course, mentorship, right now, where I'm studying to do that. So there's three different levels. I'm in level one and level two and then, once I get level three, then I'll be like officially a practitioner one and level two. And then, once I get level three, then I'll be like officially a practitioner, like have that certification. But as I'm learning, as I'm going, like I know the functional health principles and if I can just apply them while I'm learning to clients or potential clients, then that is what I'll do. Let's see here what else is on.
Speaker 1:And then I'm just looking at all of my photos, looking at my physique progress, which has been pretty cool to see. I have pictures of my gut in April because it was just inflamed, really bad inflamed. I don't know if it was stress. I think a lot of it was stress. I didn't have SIBO, but I was just having a lot of digestion issues and it just you could really tell. So I'm really glad I got to the root cause of that and got that all fixed. I cut my hair short in April, really short actually. It's grown back a lot since then. Love that for me. Brock finished his apprenticeship, so he no longer is an apprentice, he's a journeyman lineman, which is pretty freaking cool. I know that has nothing to do with me, but that was one of his goals and I was glad to see him accomplish that. So, yeah, just looking.
Speaker 1:And then let's see April, may, may, I decided to. You know I'm going to start coaching on my own, but I was still doing my nine to five corporate job. And then let's see here what's going on. And then in June I traveled or was it June? No, july, yeah, june. I traveled to Lakin's show, and July I went to. Where did I go? I went to Vegas in July and then I also went to Florida in July and then when I got back from Florida I had one week left of school, of working for my corporate job, and then I started working with a business coach, which I no longer work with and now I'm part of a using different business coach and it's more like a community and that's what I went where I went when I visited in Austin and, yeah, there's just been a lot of growth.
Speaker 1:I was on a couple podcasts, I went visited my sister, I went to visit my grandparents, which was a big thing of mine. I've done done that about three times going to go back, visited a new gym, really just got outside of my comfort zone, really started to prioritize my mental health as well a lot this last year and that has definitely served me in so many different ways. I started just being a lot more confident on my social media, posting me, talking on my stories and just me being a lot more authentic with what I'm doing and who I am. So that's pretty cool. I got some new cousins.
Speaker 1:A lot of stuff really happened, really accomplished, and I don't say that I'm proud of myself a lot, but I will say that I am proud of myself in these instances because they take a lot of growth and responsibility and uncomfortableness and I'm nowhere near where I want to be, but I just know that everything I've done up to this point has gotten me here, which is super exciting, and I'm literally recording this on the Friday that this drops. So if you're listening to this I was yesterday I was just like there's too much for me to do. I cannot get done my podcast today, and so I was like you know, I'm just gonna get it done today. So what did I do here? I am got it done and I'm glad I did, because this was really cool to just go back and look at all the things that I'd have accomplished and my camera was just filled with like check-in videos, other people's check-ins and it's pretty freaking amazing to see.
Speaker 1:I love it. I just love the growth. I am just a growth-minded individual. I love seeing my growth in everyone else's growth. It's quite literally amazing, and that's just what makes life so much more beautiful is getting to reflect on how far you've come, and just know that if you've come this far, this far I don't know what I'm trying to say here If you've come to this point already, just think about how much further you're going to continue to go.
Speaker 1:So I am really excited to also be doing a goal setting masterclass, and this is not just for, like, anybody that just like wants to be a client. This isn't going to be literally be anyone that has goals in any aspect of life. It doesn't have to be just within your health and fitness, but, like I am, all I have gotten better about goal setting and actually making my goals come to fruition, and I believe it's because of, for one, my discipline, for two, just the systems that I have in place and my mindset around everything. So if you're interested in coming to my goal setting masterclass, I highly recommend it. We're gonna dive deep a lot more into, like, your goals, your purpose, finding your why, what's going to keep you going and reaching towards your goals and, yeah, just actionable steps you can take to get there, and I'm really excited for that.
Speaker 1:So I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. It was kind of a ramble of me, just like talking about random things. Christmas is next week and I'm not sure what my next episode will be on. I know my mom, I know I keep saying this, but my mom and I are literally going to get on an episode together. She has a couple weeks off of work and I'm going to get her on here and I think it's going to be freaking amazing. So, everyone, have a merry Christmas and the next episode will be after Christmas, which will be before the new year, so stay tuned.
Speaker 1:That will be a fun one. I'm really really crossing my fingers to get my mom on for that one and we can talk more about a lot of stuff. But if you're interested in the goal setting masterclass, it's literally open to anyone and everyone. I just want to kind of share my how I accomplish my goals and how to just make shit freaking happen, no matter what. So if you're interested in it, go to my Instagram, dm me masterclass, or just message me like I'm interested and I'll get you added and you can share with anybody, like anybody can come to it, and hopefully it'll just get you freaking, hyped up for the year and setting big goals for yourself. So, yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed the episode and love y'all, and I will see you in the next one. Bye.
